PoliticsRe: "Thief" Buhari Exposed!!! by yeboyes:
Sincere 9gerian: The actions and inactions of General Muhammadu Buhari as the head of The Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), inaugurated by the Abacha govt, exposed the cluelessness and fraudulent nature of the retired general.

Details of the colossal waste, ineptitude, FRAUD and cluelessness associated with PTF were exposed in an exclusive report by Pointblank news recently.

The OBJ govt did set up an Interim Management Committee (IMC) in 2000 to look into the affairs of PTF. Below are HIGHLIGHTS of the atrocities perpetrated under the watchful eyes of Buhari (According to Pointblank news exclusive report):

1 The total public funds to be recovered from various contractors, banks and consultants amounted to about Twenty five billion, seven hundred and fifty eight million five hundred and thirty two thousand four hundred and forty eight Naira.

In other words, about N25billion was STOLEN

2 PTF Assisted HIV/ AIDS Programmes : The intervention of PTF in the HIV/AIDS was flawed due to professional negligence by the management consultants. There was an EXCESSIVE order of HIV/AIDS kits which resulted in most of the kits expiring before use. Also there was GROSS INFLATION of the purchase price. The two factors combined resulted in a loss of N 579,000,000 (Five hundred and seventy nine million Naira only).

3 PTF Intervention Programmes : PTF intervention in the health sector input programmes totalled to about N 9 billion Naira. The projects were executed by the management consultantsand PTF in-house staff. In this sector there are three glaring areas of loss: (a) Purchase of specific frames which was done at N 1,900 each while they can be purchased locally at a price between N 80 and N 880. This resulted in total loss of N 45, 270,000 (b) Purchase of ambulances which was done at N 13,000,000 each instead of the price of N 3,000,000 each. This resulted in total loss of N 900,000,000 (Nine hundred million Naira only). (c) Purchase of drugs was done to the tune of N 3.08 billion. Price inflation and expiring of drugs resulted in a loss to PTF of about N 1, 500, 000,000 ( one billion, fivehundred million Naira)

4 PTF Prevalence Expiring Drugs All Over The Country: A team of Pharmacists were commissioned to verify the Drugs Revolving Fund Programmes. Their findings were very depressing. A huge loss has been incurred by PTF as enumerated below:- (a) Drugs and consumables worth N 817, 831,723 (Eight hundred and seventeen million, eight and thirty one thousand seven hundred and twenty three Naira only) were found to have expired by October, 1999 (b) another quantity of drugs worth N 94, 741, 517 expired in December, 1999 (c) drugs worth N 233, 416, 829 will expire by March 2000 (d) Drugs worth N 461, 255,073 will expire by June 2000 (e) Drugs worth N 429, 117, 861 will expire by September, 2000 (f) Drugs worth N 1, 196, 276, 052 will expire by October- December, 2000.

There were many cases of deterioration of drugs as a result of faulty manufacturing, inappropriate packaging, improper storage and excess stock.

5 PTF Residential Estate: The involvement of PTF in Residential Estate Development was out of its intervention sphere. As at now, the estate has been confiscated by government. The contract sum is N 703, 815, 416 (Seven hundredand three million, eight hundred and fifteen thousand four hundred and sixteen Naira only) while after verification, the whole project was valued at N 328, 901, 521(Three hundred and Twenty Eight Million nine hundred and one thousand, five hundred and twenty one Naira only). There was an inflation of the contract to the tune of N 374, 913, 895 (Three hundredand seventy four million, nine hundred and thirteen thousand eight hundred and ninety five Naira only).

6 PTF Headquarters Extension: The IMC Commissioned Consultants to determine the current construction cost of the on-going extension at the headquarters office. The current construction cost determined by the Consultant came to N 326, 207, 861 (Three hundred and twenty six million, two hundred and seven thousand, eight hundred and sixty one Naira only) as against a contract sum of N 461, 216, 759 (Four hundred and sixty one million, two hundred and sixteen thousand, seven hundred and fifty nine Naira only) this resulted in contract sum inflation of N 135, 008, 879 (One hundred and thirty five million, eight thousand eight hundred and seventy nine Naira only).

7 Rural Water Supply Programme The area of potential fund recoveries under this programme are basically two :- (i) Mobilisation paid to contractors who by now have not even commenced work (ii) OVER PRICING of contracts. The amount to be recovered from this project sector can be conservatively estimated at N 1,000,000,000 (One billion Naira).

PoliticsThe Trillion Naira President Who Doesn't Give A Damn by yeboyes(op): 9:04am On May 27, 2013
https://www.acnigeria.com/images/lofthumbs/700x391/images/stories/president_care.jpg

President Goodluck Jonathan is madly in love with the word “trillion”, and he doesn’t give a damn about what we think. He is the first Nigerian president to achieve the trillion naira mark in subsidy payments that were taken to the level of a business by the stark knaving President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Before Jonathan became president, the subsidy payments had always stood between N200 billion and N300 billion per year. But, within one year, Jonathan had spent a princely N2.6 trillion. But it is also understandable.

Fuel consumption usually increases dramatically geometrically in an election year. And 2011 was a particularly fuel-consuming election year, if you know what I mean.

But, you know, when people attain the trillion naira mark, they want to maintain that level of achievement. That must be why, by June this year, Jonathan had already spent N450 billion on payment of arrears for subsidies and had not even started paying the more than N880 billion budgeted for subsidy this year, which, trust me, Jonathan would exhaust by December 31, this year.

That means the minimum Jonathan will expend on subsidy payment this year, again, is N1.3 trillion. That is, even though subsidy has been removed from diesel and kerosene. So while the man who shared bribes to National Assembly members to procure a third term for himself spent an average of N300 billion annually on subsidy payments, including the subsidy on kerosene, our own Jonathan continues to spend trillions annually even with the total removal of subsidy on kerosene and diesel and the substantial removal of petrol subsidy in January this year. So, you see why the president doesn’t give a damn?

Another Jonathan trillion naira achievement is in the new level of crude oil theft. Before our own Jonathan came to power, the hoodlums that used to steal Nigeria’s crude oil had only modest achievements, but, since the coming of Jonathan, they have not had it so good. Their business has picked up.

There was a decided spike in the incidences of stolen oil with the ascension of Jonathan. But that is understandable: he doesn’t give a damn. With the coming of Jonathan, oil thieves have been able to improve their business to about 400,000 barrels per day. With that kind of quantity stolen daily, that would be over N2 trillion in a year stolen from that sector alone.

Then, it emerged last week that, within one year after Jonathan became president, Nigeria’s debt had risen by N1.21 trillion. Maybe these are the trillion naira skills that Pastor Tunde Bakare saw and he concluded that Jonathan’s destiny was to bankrupt Nigeria. But Bakare misses the point. The president doesn’t just give a damn.

Then, there is the iniquity of stealing billions of naira meant for pensioners. So far, the president appears to be aware of that because he has not said anything about it. Or, maybe he doesn’t give a damn about this one also. So far, almost everyone has been beating about the bush on the matter and has not touched the substance.

Which is that, one, the bulk of the money was also stolen during the election year and, two, a former head of service who was not a career civil servant before becoming the head of service and who is still neck-deep in Jonathan’s government is the main person the Jonathan government should be questioning. But, of course, the president doesn’t give a damn. That won’t happen. At least not under Jonathan.

Now that we know our president doesn’t give a damn, we should not bother him about the problems of the country anymore. He doesn’t give a damn about what we think about him. That much is clear. He doesn’t give a damn about Boko Haram and other security-related issues. That one is our problem. He would not visit Maiduguri because the airport is not good, even though two flights operate from there daily. He doesn’t give a damn about what happens to all our schools and our hospitals.

He doesn’t give a damn about corruption, but there is one case of corruption I think he should give a damn: it was recently reported that even money meant for servicing the presidential air fleet is occasionally “diverted”. He needs to very seriously give a damn about that one.

There are many, many Nigerians who are very angry that the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would use such language as, “I don’t give a damn”. The president also doesn’t give a damn about that one. In fact, if you are too upset, you can go hug a transformer. He still wouldn’t give a damn. I don’t know why people are upset anyway.

We are in fact lucky that the president didn’t say “I don’t give a s..t!” Or, worse still, “I don’t give a f..k!” How many people still don’t know that Jonathan can say anything? Don’t try the president please.

PoliticsRe: God Helped Me To Defeat Amaechi - Jang by yeboyes: 9:37pm On May 26, 2013
brixton: Jonah Jang says God helped him “defeat” Amaechi

The governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has described his “victory” over Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, whom he claims to have defeated to become the new “chairman” of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, as the will of God.

Mr. Jang, was speaking in Jos, Sunday, at a special interdenominational church service held at Faith-way Chapel Church and organized by the Plateau State government as part of the activities marking the forthcoming 14th anniversary of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria.

His remarks came two days after a controversial governors’ forum election in which Mr. Amaechi was declared winner after clinching 19 votes to defeat Mr. Jang who got 16. The result of the election however portrayed Mr. Jang as a usurper to the NGF chairman position.

Governors who supported Mr. Jang rejected the outcome of the elections, claiming it was rigged.

On Saturday, Mr. Jang convened a meeting of the protesting governors and presided as chairman.

“I can assure you that my emergence as the chairman Nigerian Governors’ Forum was the will of God because I went to Abuja for the NGF election not with the intention to contest but northern governors and the PDP governors’ forum endorsed my candidature. When (Ibrahim) Shema of Kastina stepped down, both forums insisted I should contest; I contested and won. So, it’s the will of God.”

He said he had never wanted to be chairman of the NGF.

Mr. Jang told the church that the allegation that a faction of the NGF rigged the elections in his favour was not true.
“God is a democrat, does not support rigging but if you rig and succeed, that means God approve of it.”

Mr. Jang called on Nigerians to pray for their leaders to enable the present administration at all levels succeed.
He said the current controversies being faced by government at the moment is a foreshadow of what is likely to happen at the 2015 general elections.

“I believe that God has anointed who will be President of Nigeria in 2015 but only him knows who it is,” he stated.
He also said democratic governance was the best form of government that takes care of every sector, pointing out that even the military enjoys more during democracy.

“The military enjoys better during democracy. I’m a living example because I was opportune to serve as governor during the military era and now again as a civilian; so, to my mind, the military should not carry guns to force out democratic governance again,” he said.

During the church service, prayers were offered for the restoration of permanent peace in the country and stability of good governance in Nigeria and the entire African continent.

Fighter Pilot: Just a point of correction sir, no harm intended. SA total revenues at any year from 2011 are worth over $100 billion or over R.1 trillion.
How much is Nigeria Total Revenue for 2011 ?

How much of the $100 billion actually goes to only the South African Government?

How much money does Nigeria make only only from Oil without without including other sectors like Agriculture?

I am not comparing total GDP ,i am comparing Government revenue between both countries and Nigeria's Government has been earning at least 3 times what the South African Government earns yearly.

Now allow me to compare another African country to Nigeria ,a country whose Government earns way less revenue than Nigeria but still manages to do things the Nigerian Government can't

The Democratic republic of Congo.

This country earns way less than the Nigerian Government alone yet they are about to build the biggest dam in the world known as the Great Inga dam

The Grand Inga Dam is a proposed hydroelectric dam on the Congo River at Inga Falls in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The proposed dam is the fourth and largest of the Inga dams, 8 km (5 mi) from Inga-I, 7.3 km (5 mi) from Inga-II, and 6.5 km (4 mi) from the proposed Inga-III.The dam has an expected generating capacity of 39,000 MW, with 52 turbines each with a capacity of 750 MW.[1] This is a significantly larger capacity than the Three Gorges Dam, which is currently known as the largest energy-generating body ever built.

The DRC government will build the Dam with other investors at a whooping cost of $80 billion dollars. They are still seeking for more investors as the fund are not fully available but they are determined and committed

https://www.earthzine.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Inga-Flyover-International-Rivers.jpg

From the diagram below ,it seems that DRC will also sell us electricity as i see that they will build a sub station in calabar receiving generated power from the same Dam.South Africa will also get power from the dam

https://i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp49/bukavu_2008/08-inga-dam.gif

Why are other African countries with less revenue building these massive projects but we Nigerians just can't do it for our people?? Are we saying that these people are intellectually superior to us in all aspects huh?

myselfonly: I got this on Facebook. i don't know if it is true or its source. A friend posted it and i pasted it here.May be it explains the situation. It says:

"President Goodluck Jonathan administration was
directly behind the recent power failure and that
it was intentionally designed to affect the entire
country. He described it as “a tactical plan to end
the Boko Haram Menace”. GEJ’s tactical plan
involves “total shut down of all power distribution
systems in the country, especially in Boko Haram
strongholds”. Phase 2 involves “shutting down
telecommunication nationwide to break down their
chain of communication, thereby weakening
them”. Do not expect phone network for 6 days
next week. You’ll get a text from your network
provider. He said also that fuel supply would be
cut off from states where boko haram suspect are
located and this would make it hard for them to
plan any other attack and it would be easy for JTF
to fish them out. In his words “It is a good plan.
I am 30% sure it will work. 30 is my lucky number.
If it doesn’t work, I can always set up a
committee to investigate”.
If this is true then my prediction above was correct. Our President and his cohort are serial liars. The worse part of it is that their lies are always obvious. It is the same way they lied that Jonathan has a number of Amens he can say in church,i mean how ridiculous is that? How does shutting down power all over the country stop Boko Haram? Does Boko Haram need electricity to power cellphones ,Walkie Talkies, Ak 47s ,IEDs ,Grenades or RPGs? Jonathan is a clown a very unfunny clown who is shockingly dumb to the extent that he can't even come up with believable lies.

South African Government gives it's poor citizens free houses called RDP houses,Yes FREE (awoof) houses, 100% free no string attached. They care about their people so they build free houses for them.Below is a picture of some of the RDP houses:

How many Houses have the Nigerian Government donated to the poor? zero! Yet Patience Jonathan gets N4 billion to do as she please. Chai yeye country!

Even the so called low cost housing built by state and federal Government in Nigeria are only for millionaires. We are completely scrwed in Nigeria. The time to act is now ,vote out PDP and vote out some ACN,CPC,ANPP,AGPA Governors who have not performed.Vote for good leaders, leaders like me who are ready to make a very drastic change. The kind of change that will make the cabals go into hiding and never surface again. shocked

Under the right leadership ,Nigeria will make rapid progress. We need to eliminate cabals, corruption, tribalism, nepotism and incompetence.

PoliticsRe: Nationwide Blackout? 24 Hours And Counting by yeboyes:
Jonathan was in South Africa last week and i wonder if he was ashamed at how developed South Africa is compared to Nigeria which is richer than South Africa in Government Revenue.

President Zuma of South Africa has built more infrastructure since becoming President of SA 3 years ago than Jonathan will ever build even if he was president of Nigeria for 50 years.I urge the supporters of Jonathan to show me one infrastructure that Jonathan has actively built brand New from the ground up that is beneficial to Nigerians? Just one!

Right now South Africa is building a new dry-cooled coal-fired power station known as the The Medupi Power Station. When completed, the power station is to have six boilers each powering an 800 MW turbine, producing 4800 MW of power. It is expected to become the largest dry-cooled coal fired power station in the world.Contracts have been placed with Hitachi to supply the boilers and Alstom to provide the steam turbines for this plant. At R33.6 Billion, these are the biggest contracts ever placed by Eskom. Super-critical boilers will be used to improve the efficiency of the power plant. This will raise the total power generation in South Africa to close to 50,000MW from the exsiting 40,000 MW

Here are pictures of the construction site of the The Medupi Power Station:

https://www.timeslive.co.za/Feeds/Reuters_Images/2013/01/16/14-06-2012-21-06-00-828mdf80660.jpg/ALTERNATES/crop_630x400/14-06-2012-21-06-00-828mdf80660.jpg

By the time they finish this is what it will look like :

https://www.wmsarchitects.co.za/wp-content/gallery/Eskom-Medupi/Medupi-Powerstation_1.jpg

Apart from that they are also building another new Coal power plant called the Kusile Power Station. This station will generate another 4800MW increasing the National grid to close to 55000 MW for a population of 50 Million people

Here is a picture of the construction site:

https://www.greenpeace.org/africa/Global/africa/image/ConfrontingKusile/GP02L8L.jpg

In Enugu ,we have coal ,yet we can't build coal plants,Nigeria we hail! embarassed

The South African Government also have other on going projects to boost power generations in the country ,the plans are so many that i can not mention them all here. That being i will post an image which detail the plan of SA's power company on the long term. This image shows you the difference between the donkeys we have in the Nigerian Government and the intelligent folks we have ion the South African Government:

https://eskom.ensight-cdn.com/content/doublespread.jpg

I specifically chose South Africa for this comparison because i know if i use USA ,people will say how can i compare Nigeria to USA who earns more than us.One thing i like about the South Africans is that they are efficient and patriotic. When they say they will complete a project in 3 years ,they complete in 2 years and 10 months. They are always ahead of schedule because they put country first before their pockets.

If it was Nigeria ,the project will drag on and on for decades without being completed due to lack of human compassion, lack of patriotism ,corruption and acute backwardness.

Nigeria clearly earns more than SA so how come they have more power stations than us? What do we do with our own money?Oh yes we use it to fund and rig elections. Please Rueben Abati aka "the grand liar" come and answer these question on behalf of your master.I am waiting for how you are going to spin this grin

PoliticsRe: Nationwide Blackout? 24 Hours And Counting by yeboyes:
billante: You expect the federal govt to bring out a whooping 546 billion naira to build one power plant!! how much go come remain for other capital projects that are yearning for attention

In comparison govt is building a 3500 mega watts power plant at mambilla, even though its not using its own money to build it.....another private company is building a 1500 MW coal fired power plant in kogi state.

let the private sector be the one building upcoming power generation plants that nigeria needs to be a fully industrialized country......The govt has opened the sector for them to do so,
Dont expect the govt to use 3/4 of its capital budget to build one power plant just to answer a performing govt, thats stupidity to me
We have close to $45 billion in foreign reserves at the moment. The money is just sitting in a bank account doing absolutely nothing for Nigerians. When Jonathan took over power we had over $35 billion but he withdrew the whole money, shared with his cronies and used the rest to campaign. Where were you then? Why did you not ask why Jonathan spent a whooping $35 billion on nothing?

If Jonathan can waste money on his cronies why can’t the Nigerian Government spend N546 billion to light up Nigeria? The minimum the Government makes every year from ONLY oil is $52 billion, what is wrong if they use half of that to build a massive power plant?

Are you saying the Chinese Government that spent $26 billion on the three Georges dam are stupid? Do you know when that dam was initiated? Construction of the dam began in 1984.At that time China was a nobody but they started building infrastructure rapidly because their leaders were visionaries who realized that those infrastructure will benefit them in future. Fast forward to 2013 and China is now the second largest economy in world and to top that , they own America!

Are you saying the leaders of South Africa are stupid by spending billions of dollars on new power plants? Right now the South Africans are spending close to $30 billion dollars to build 3 new coals plants,a solar plant and a new nuclear power plant. I guess according to you the South Africans are very stupid.

The South Africans are so stupid that Nigerians are flocking to their country to seek greener pastures. I wonder why the smart Nigerians are running away from Nigeria and running to stay with the stupid South Africans who wasted all their money to achieve 24 hours electricity, good roads, good hospitals, good schools and every other necessary infrastructure as well as services.

Let me ask you one question do we have a 911 line in Nigeria? In South Africa they have emergency lines for ambulances which shows up at your house within 10 minutes of calling. I guess they are also stupid for maintaining their health services to a high standard that anyone in the country can get an ambulance or helicopter free of charge within 10 minutes.

Nigerians leaders are so smart that Sick Nigerians including the wife of the smart Nigerian President are flying abroad for treatment when they get a small stomach ache. Yet the stupid South Africans built the world’s largest hospital known as baragwanath hospital.

According to Guinness book of record Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital is the biggest hospital in the world. The South Africans must be very stupid and wasteful to have built such a big hospital like this to accommodate many sick South africans. Below is Google map image of the scale of the entire hospital:

When the smart Nigerians need a DNA test ,they fly the test sample to the Stupid South Africans in the above hospital because the Nigerians in all their smartness do not have a single DNA lab in the country.

Your argument is extremely flawed because you are indirectly saying it is okay for politicians to squander trillions of Naira every year but it is not okay for the Nigerian Government to spend money on a brand new power plant.

I am sure you also do not want the FG to spend $3billion to build two new state of art hospitals for Nigerians because it is a very stupid idea.

Your mindset is the same mindset our leaders have. Instead of just doing what they were elected to do they will say N564 billion is too much to spend on a new power project and make all kinds of excuses but they won’t find it hard embezzle the same money in order to hide it in offshore accounts.

Like I said before and I will always say it again, our leaders are not interested in changing our lives for the better. You just proved it with your comment that there are many Nigerians unfortunately who will not do what is right because they are not capable of doing the right thing. Instead they will make all kind of ridiculous excuses. The senators in Abuja earn $1.8 million dollars a year but you are complaining about spending N546 billion on electrifying Nigeria for a long time to come.

Those IPPs they are building now will not sustain Nigeria ,with a population of 160 million plus ,we need at least 100,000MW to have stable power supply. All the current IPPs combined will not even reach 12000MW so why only go for them when we have the money to do more.

Let me ask you one question ,GOD forbid if you have a child who has cancer and the Hospital told you that you need to pay them ¾ of your 1 year income to save him ,what will you do?

Will you say the money is too much and let the child die even though you know you will make the money back next year?

@ yeboyes, don't be discouraged, keep on showing us some truth.
Thank you my brother.Let me show you an example from another African country. Below is the newest Airport in South Africa. It was designed by a South African architect(Osmond Lange Architects) and built within 3 years by a South African construction company at a cost of $900 million.

They was no long stories or commission set ,there was no delay or embezzlement of funds. They needed a new aiprot and they just built without any hassle.Bear in Mind that South African Government makes less than the Nigerian Government.

Construction of the airport commenced on 24 August 2007.The airport handled its first commercial flights on 1 May 2010

Furthermore the so called Power Generation problems Nigeria has been having is not so difficult to solve. The problem once again is unintelligent and uncaring leaders like Jonathan. If i were the president of Nigeria i would have utilized all the water resources we have in Nigeria to generate power.

The bissest Dam in the world is the Three Goerges Dam in china which is similar in size to river Niger. What has the Nigerian Governemnt not considered damming the River Niger.

Allow me to elborate :

Three George Dam

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ab/ThreeGorgesDam-China2009.jpg/800px-ThreeGorgesDam-China2009.jpg

As you can see from the above the Chinese do not pay lip service to power generation ,they just do it.The base of the River Niger can easily accommodate a dam the same size or even bigger than the three Georges dam but our Government is not interested in long term solutions. Instead they had registering IPP who are building micro power some which generate less than 50MW.

The Jonathan Administration will not solve Nigeria’s power problems because they do not have a clue how to solve it. They opted for small scale solutions which are also short time solutions instead of looking at the geography of Nigeria and detecting areas where long term solutions can be planted to serve Nigeria into the next 30 years at least. The good thing about the design of the three George dam is that it has a shiplift which will allow container ships to go up and down the river with relative ease and without disturbing the dam.

The River at it is base is close to 1.8 km wide and the three Georges dam is just 1.1 km long. This proves that the Three Georges dam or something bigger can be replicated on the river Niger and with today improved technology up to 37000 MW can be generated form just that single dam. Such a project will easily light up Nigeria and give room for Government planners to start planning future power project without any pressure on them.

I even believe that three dams can be construction on the river Niger. A Dam could each be constructed on the Kwara side of the river ,the Benue Side of the River and the Imo side of the river at the base. This will increase power generation to over 50,000MW. If the Jonathan Government was clued they could put aside $15 Billion from Oil revenue every years to pay for this projct without borrowing. Besides we have foreign reserves ,we could use our current foreign reserves to pay for this project.

If Nigeria is fully lit up our economy will increase to over $1 Trillion in just 5 years. With a population of a 170 million and a fully electrified country there is no stopping us ,we will become a first world country in a matter of 30years. If only Nigeria can get a visionary and honest leader like me ,if only! PS i am not a graduate ,i am a university drop out but i am way more intelligent and clued up than most of these professor we keep appointing as ministers and electing as Presidents.

PoliticsRe: Nationwide Blackout? 24 Hours And Counting by yeboyes:
Here are some posts i made another topic in regards to the failure of the past and present Nigerian Government. They are relevant to this topic, please spread the word. The best way to educate our people is to show them what they are missing.Nigeria is at least 5 times richer than South Africa ,yet we get less than 5% of the Good governance and Infrastructure South Africans get. Please read the posts below and verify them, this is why Nigerian are flocking to South Africa and other countries everyday:

The sad thing about Nigeria is that when these so called projects take place , presidents and Governors are always laying foundation and smiling for the camera but nothing gets done. To make matters worse when they build these so called airports they award the contracts to incompetent friends and what you get is a poorly designed, poorly built monstrosity that looks like a mosque or a very ugly warehouse.

I wonder why there are no pictures to show us what the new RE-CONSTRUCTED Enugu Airport looks like. Reminds me of an ss Governor who awarded himself a N7billion contract to construct a non-existent runway. In other countries they build airports without any politicians laying any foundation or commissioning anything. They just do it with no long stories or excessive fanfare.

Look at China, they built close to 10 brand new cities without making any noise .Google zhendong New District or Ordos city just to name a few. These project were undertaken with highest level of dedication ever witnessed in human history. Zhengdong New district alone cost $19 billion. Jonathan on the other hand stole over $30 billion from our foreign reserves in 3 years and has nothing to show for it.

Our Government makes over $100 billion every year from our Oil benefits yet we do not have world class cities ,reliable health facilities ,land lines, decent schools, budget housing or world class infrastructure, all we have is dumb politicians like Jonathan who just talk and talk.

If i were president i would have built at least 3 new cities since Jonathan became president and provided genuine budget housing for the masses. One of the easiest ways to grow an economy is by building new infrastructure and providing cheap housing.

How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Hospitals?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Roads?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Schools?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Coal Power Plant?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world Dams?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Nuclear Power Plants?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Solar Power Plants?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Airports?
How hard can it be for the Nigerian Government to build world class Universities?
How can all the above be when we make more than $50 billion yearly.

It is not hard at ALL, It is as simple as ABC if our President wants to do it but he does not "give a damn"

This same man awarded his stupid wife N4 billion to build a silly building that has no benefit for Nigerians. Do you know how many budget homes N4 billion Niara can build for Nigerianshuh

We can chose to defend our slave master or choose to do away with them. We have the money to be great but we lack great leaders.

Let me show you what $19 billion of the $50 billion dollars Jonathan and his cronies steal every year can do for you my people if you elect the right leaders :

Zhengdong New District

Cost $19 Billlion

Duraction of Contruction : 4 Years

Total Population Capacity : 5 Million People

Current Population : 2.5 Million

Now imagine if for the next 3 years Jonathan put aside $19 billion a year to build one city each. In 3 years Lagos Population would have been reduced as these people will flock to the new cities to inhabit it. The $19 billion dollar city can house 5 million people that means that if Jonathan chooses to build 3 new cities he would have provided a place of abode for another 15 million people. This will also reduce the outrageous price of land in areas like Lagos and Abuja as people will have better alternatives.

The fact is that Jonathan does not care about you ,he only cares about himself, he has done NOTHING so far to show that he cares about the poor or the average Nigerian.

SHOW ME ONE THING HE HAS DONE THAT POOR NIGERIANS HAVE BENEFITED FROM.

If you cannot show me one thing this man has done for poor Nigerians surely he has failed and should never be given second a chance to return in 2015.Let us be honest with ourselves. At the end of the day , the only person you can trust is yourself. Put aside petty tribalism Hausa here, Biafra this ,Odua that or Muslim this ,Christian that. Think as an individual , as a Nigerian ,what has PDP done for you?

agaugust: welcome to this forum sir. hope to see more of you

chinese J-10 jet seems no longer in nigeria's mind. SU-25 frogfoot COIN jet is not certain whether its coming or not, but if it comes, its only for urgent use against b.oko h.aram as it has better armour protection for the pilot than alpha jet and more weapons pylons and payload.

dont worry about weapons nigeria buys from ukraine, we have a defense pact with them for urgent supply of weapons in time of emergency need.

nigeria is very careful about new air superiority heavy jet fighters purchase. we have a very painful experience with british jaguar jets when western nations placed embargo on military suppleis to nigeria, no weapons, no spare parts, no ordnance.

notice that all our new warships are from china and india. eastern/asian countries dont often place weapons embargo. the west dont like to transfer weapons building secrets especially heavy jet fighters. chinese F-7 jets have been successfully dis-assembled and re-assembled locally in nigeria for the sake of full maintenance and copying technology by reverse-engineering for future building of a nigerian made jet fighter.

nigeria gained nothing technologically from all the weapons we have been buying from britain.

the chinese/pakistani JF-17 Thunder will give nigeria oppourtunity of joint partnership to build the jets locally in nigeria aand become a weapons manufacturing giant. people say JF-17 jet is not as good as SU-30, but whom are we fighting today ? Egypt ? Algeria ? Ethiopia ? South Africa ? the powerful countries in africa are all nigeria's friends as at today, but the future may change....war hsitory....friends today, can become enemies tomorrow.

SU-27 Flnaker and F-16 Falcon are a bit outdated unless upgraded, and crazy cost of maintenance. SU-30 expensive to buy. south africa is haveing financial problems to maintain 26 grippen jets flying, so 12 are kept out of service in long term storage.

nigeria needs to be careful.

also you may not easily rush from alpha jet to SU-30 of JF-17, you need to a lead-in-trainer of 4.5th generation to prepare pilots to fly 4.5th generation fighters like SU-30 and JF-17, or else you may have pilot air crashes/accidents.

nigeria has the money to buy 100 units of very modern Russian SU-30 jets today and become the most powerful airforce, but we are trying to be careful, and the air force marshals are yet to agree with ministry of defence on this final choice as at last year, but they may have settled the isssue by now, but nigeria military likes to keep secrets.
Thank you very much Sir for this informative post.I was totally ignorant of the above. You have certainly cleared up some questions for me.I do understand the position of our Military now, thank you once again

Henry120: Not only the airforce, the navy also use CTAR-21. However the airforce carry the standard tar-21.

Only special forces get side arms in nigeria.

As for the jets, the only confirmed purchase is the L-15 light attack/ trainer.

We are not going for the SU-25. However I wish we could get at least 6 of them for counter insurgency operations. The SU-25 is considered to be better than the american AH-10 thunderbolt for the support role they play. The SU-25 is not bad.

The airforce is currently looking at the SU-27 or SU-30. All these though are un-confirmed reports.

In 2012 during the airforce air expo, the PAKS brought along their JF-17 thunder for evaluation by the NAF. The PAK air chief is even currently on a 5 day visit to NAF.

It's seems the NAF might want to go for the SU-30, however this is an un confirmed report.

*Assault rifle for the army. I'd prefer the army goes for the AK-103 or the AK-L 74 which the nigerian police anti-terror squad use.

The FN SCAR, does not come cheap, the police weapon is modern, selective firing and still maintains the ruggedness and penetration of the AK's before it. We also produce the rounds for this weapon at DICON.

Special forces should stick to their CTAR-21, I hope the army also adopts the C-TAR21 for their special forces units.

* another good thing with the akl-74 the police use is, it is devoid of american un predictable bureaucracy, un-like the FN SCAR which is a belgian-american joint partnership.
Thanks for your input,I hope we go for the Su 27s,those planes are wicked.I do agree that bureaucracy may cause a problem in acquiring the some scars variants especially the FNAC which i have not being able to get my hands on so far.

Have you seen the AK 12? Someone showed me this awesome weapon a few days ago.It seems to be placed in direct competition with the SCARs.

It is the latest AK on the market and will probably become the standard weapon of the Russian armed forces. With the Ak 12 ,they have really improved the accuracy of the AK and reduced recoil significantly. That have also added an adjustable stock, scope, rails and bull grip like the scar.It fires the same rounds as the regular Ak.It is still a brand new gun so testing is still on going. Please tell the Army to have a look at it ,i believe it won't be too expensive. Here are pictures of it :

LT SHANGY: brother, our tank systems and jet systems are quite old(except for our miserable F-7NI),our Aradu flag ship is quite old. the NNS Thunder is an opv.
well, we are still waiting for our SU-25 frogfoots, J-10s,and hongdu L-15 falcons.
Are you kidding me? What are we acquiring these old (SU-25 frogfoots) and unproven (J-10s,and hongdu L-15 falcons) planes for? Countries like Malaysia are using F15s,F16s,Su 27s and su35 Fulcrum but we choose to go for older and expensive to maintain planes like Su 25 huh I tire for this country. What is our obsession with second hand things because i guarantee the Su 25 planes won't be brand new when they are brought to Nigeria? The J-10s,hongdu L-15 falcons can still not match the Su 27 or Su 35 fulcrum so why waste money buying them? We are better off buying used F16 and F15s instead of those buying those cheap chinese copies.

I think i should become a weapons contractor for the Nigerian Military as the current contractors are selling us crap.Any ideas on how i can render my services to the Nigerian Military? I am a modern warfare expert with 7 years experience under my belt and i will like to give our boys distinct Advantage with modern and extremely hi tech weapons.

I see the Airforce is now armed with Isreali tavor which is a fantastic AR.I see our soldiers carry assault rifles but i have never seen them carry any side arms like other militaries, may be i am mistaken.

If i were a weapon contractor for the Nigerian Army some of the weapons i will introduce to them is the Herstal range.

billante: You expect the federal govt to bring out a whooping 546 billion naira to build one power plant!! how much go come remain for other capital projects that are yearning for attention

Baragwanath Hospital is such a world class Hospital that medical schools in countries like USA, England,Australia and others send their student yearly to come and train there for a six months at a time.

https://baragwanathtrauma.com/img/internationalStudents1.jpg

Nigeria holds the world record of being the only country in the world where unfinished projects are commissioned with fanfare.I swear our leaders are crazy grin

Then again we hold the world record of being the only country in the world where a presidential candidate has debated with himself on live Tv. Chai this country don kolo! shocked

People keep saying GOD will save us.God ko ,satan ni! GOD only helps those who helps themselves. If we as Nigerians fail to vote in the right leaders then GOD will continue to laugh at our stupidity.GOD gave us brains for thinking, eyes for seeing and hands for voting ,the rest is up to us.

PS: oga i hope you know what it takes to do visionary, honest politics. Lets hope you have the guts, honesty, and protection and wisdom to do this. smiley

My brother no politician is 100% honest. I myself i am not 100% honest, even the South Africans i am praising have many corrupt politicians. The difference is that the politicians provide good infrastructure for their people.

You see they build hospitals ,roads ,airports and other necessary infrastructure then they steal the remaining "change" or inflate the contracts slightly. The South Africans are not really bothered about the change their politicians are stealing because they get free housing , good roads and other necessary benefits. Nigeria is so rich that Jonathan and his cronies can embezzle small amounts of millions while at the same time delivering quality leadership to Nigeria.

Unfortunately this is not case, in Nigeria the politicians steal the entire money without doing anything. Do you think George bush or Obama is honest? Of course not, all of them are corrupt. George bush’s family are still making money from the oil in Iraq ,that is why he invaded. However Geaorge bush made sure that Americans have everything they need so they don't bother him too much. I am sure if we dig deep we will see some secret business Obama is involved in.

Before American presidents are elected ,they are lobbied by sponsors. Lobbying is another name for bribery. These Presidential candidates like Obama are bribed by big companies so when he gets elected they get contracts. The difference is that when they get the contracts they execute it efficiently and in the shortest time possible unlike Nigeria where the contract will drag on for years.

The problem with Nigeria is that our leaders are TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO corrupt. Their own corruption is devoid of human compassion. They have lost the ability to be human and to realize the harm they are doing to the the people.

What I am saying to you is this my brother ,if I am president ,I will also enrich myself but I will do so and in the most legal way possible. I will put Nigerians first and embezzle the left overs. I won’t just dip my hand in to government account and spends it any how , no ways. I will probably set different companies and award contracts to those companies.

The difference is that my company will sub contract the contract to a very capable company that complete the project on time. I will only get a commission from the awarded contract. That way the citizens will get their new infrastructure , I will be rich and everybody will be happy. Take care of your people and they will take care of you. It is simple logic. However Jonathan and his cronies are just too greedy to care.

My brother thank you. We need to unite and speak honestly to one another instead of always fighting over tribe. Tribalism and Religion is the weapon of the elites against the citizens. We have been so brainwashed by the elites that we do not realize that they are our enemies. Instead we fight each other over petty matters. Everyday on Nairaland Yorubas and Igbos are still fighting the civil war that ended in 1966 instead of embracing one another and working together towards a better future.

If Nigerians elect a honest and intelligent leader regardless of where he is from all Nigerians will benefit. Overseas , Yorubas ,Igbos and Hausas are best of friends but immediately we land at Muritala international we become enemies ,why? Why is it so? Why can't we realize that we are being used as pawns by the political class. We need to stop discriminating against each other,it is childish and affects progress.

Many of us were not born during the civil war so how come we are holding grudges? It is the politicians who are brainwashing us. I said it before and i said it again ,i will trounce any of these so called leaders including Fashola in a leadership debate because i am genuinely clued up on what should be done to lift up my people.

I was once fooled by Fashola but i have since realized that he is not what i thought he was. Most of his developments in Lagos are commendable no doubt but he is not looking after the average guy. He is instead looking after the rich. That is not a sign of a good leader. In my opinion APC and PDP are the same.

The ACN is using Yoruba nationalism to fool Yorubas just as CPC and Agpa are using tribal nationalism to fool their people. We need a new party that is all inclusive and has brand new, disciplined ,honest and intelligent leaders .They most also have a ready-made leadership blueprint which can be accessible by the electorate. We can do it ,we have to stop thinking it is impossible, it starts with me and you.If we say enough is then enough is enough.

I am sure like every other blind Jonathan Supporter ,Rueben Abati will blame Boko haram for the lack of electricity in Nigeria.Just notice how the usual Jonathan supporters have run away from this thread. Chai their lies have finished.E no finish? Oya make una come lie for una Oga at the top? Why are the south Africans building while you guys are speaking yeye grammer?

South African Government gives it's poor citizens free houses called RDP houses,Yes FREE (awoof) houses, 100% free no string attached. They care about their people so they build free houses for them.Below is a picture of some of the RDP houses:

https://westcapenews.com/wordpress/wp-content/gallery/newspicturesoct2010/mandelaparkhouse_0.jpg

PoliticsRe: President Jonathan Live In Enugu by yeboyes:

When they say they complete a project in 3 years ,they complete in 2 years and 10 months.

Please Rueben Abati aka "the grand liar" come and answer this question on behalf of your master.I am waiting for how you are going to spin this grin

@ yeboyes, don't be discouraged, keep on showing us some truth.
Thank you my brother.Let me show you an example from another African country. Below is the newest Airport in South African. It was designed by a South Africa architect(Osmond Lange Architects) and built within 3 years by a South African construction company at a cost of $900 million.

They was no long stories or commission set ,there was no delay or embezzlement of funds. They needed a new aiprot and they just built without any hassle.Bear in Mind that South African Government makes less than the Nigerian Government.

Construction of the airport commenced on 24 August 2007.Constructio.The airport handled its first commercial flights on 1 May 2010
