Manchester United have signed former Watford striker Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua on loan until the end of the season.

The deal to bring the 30-year-old Nigeria international to Old Trafford contains no option to buy.

Ighalo, who is still in China, scored 39 goals in 99 matches for Watford between 2014 and 2017.

Manchester United are growing confident of completing a load deal for former Watford striker Odion Ighalo before the transfer deadline.

United have been heavily linked with Bournemouth's Josh King and Shanghai Shenhua front-man Ighalo, 30.

Earlier BBC Solent learned any pursuit of Bournemouth's King had ended.

But the club are still talking to alternative options and, while there is no deal done, there is a growing feeling United will loan Ighalo.

Ighalo is currently in China, which could complicate the completion of any deal before the deadline at 23:00 GMT.

He scored 39 goals in 99 matches for Watford between 2014 and 2017.

After two seasons with Chinese side Changchun Yatai he moved to Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua and has scored 10 times in 19 games.

His form for his country has been eye-catching - finishing as top scorer in African Cup of Nations qualifying, with seven goals, before scoring five at the tournament during the summer.

Nigerians won’t be able to watch the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on the Republic of Benin in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on SuperSport.
DSTV’s SuperSport has been the go-to channel for Super Eagles games in recent years but they won’t be broadcasting the game on Tuesday after they halted the broadcast of content from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The broadcast was halted following CAF’s termination of Lagardere's $1 billion rights deal as their exclusive agent for the sale and marketing and media rights.
SuperSport bought their rights from Lagardere which is no longer valid with the termination of the contract.

Sincerely,I personally think Alex iwobi shouldn’t be a stater in the super eagles team. I have never been impressed by his performance neither in the national colors or club side. Personal opinion though.

As the group phase of the Afcon 2019 comes to conclusion, the outcome of matches btw Cameroon and Benin that ended goalless has seen the indomitable lions finish second in their group and will therefore meet the super eagles of Nigeria. The kick of time is 5pm Nigeria time on Saturday the 6th of July 2019.
