But this is wickedness now. If this boy truly av an iota of witch craft in him,he wud av saved himself. Why do we just allow ourselves be brain washed and fooled by our so called religious leader. This is one of many innocent children that are suffering from the same inhuman act. Like seriously this thing has to be stopped. |

For the uninitiated, portmanteaus (or ‘portmanteaux’) are words which combine the sounds and meanings of two words. For example, motel (a combination of motor and hotel) or brunch (a combination of breakfast and lunch). Whilst browsing a list of different portmanteaus and blends, I noticed a number of words that I use fairly regularly, and I had no idea they were formed from two different words. As a result, I thought it would be nice to summarize some of these in a list. 1. endorphin This word’s roots have so far been traced back to the 1970s, as a blend of the words endogenous and morphine. It means ‘any group of hormones secreted within the brain and nervous system and having a number of physiological functions’. 2. moped Oxford Dictionaries has found evidence that this word comes from Swedish, with its earliest example cited in the 1950s. It is a roughly translated and abbreviated version of the phrase ‘trampcykel med motor och pedaler’ which means ‘pedal cycle with motor and pedals’. The word ‘moped’ is assumed to have taken both its parts from motor and pedal. 3. napalm Made famous for its use as a warfare weapon, this word takes its name from two of the ingredients required to make it. Naphthenic acid from crude oil and palmitic acid from coconut oil. 4. modem Comprising the words modulator and demodulator, two devices named after the actions they carry out. A modem does both of these things in order to send and receive data. 5. dumbfound A great word to describe the shocking moments that amaze or astonish, this word is, rather unsurprisingly, made up of the words dumb and confound. 6. chortle The earliest noted example of this word is in Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass. It is assumed that it was made from a blend of chuckle and snort. It was a popular word used in the Beano magazines when a character would try to hide their laughter. 7. bash This word has many different definitions, but it is assumed that it was made from a blend of bang and smash. 8. hassle A great word, meaning ‘to pester’ as a verb, or ‘an irritating inconvenience’ in its noun form, it was probably made from a combination of haggle and tussle. 9. pennant Usually meaning a kind of flag, this word was made from a blend of pendant and pennon. In this instance, our research suggests that ‘pennon’ was used to mean the same thing, before it evolved into ‘pennant’. 10. testosterone Well known for its purpose in the development of male sexual characteristics, this word is rather unusual in the sense that it has made use of three words. It is a blend of testis, sterol, and ketone. 11. cambozola A popular German blue cheese, and one of my favourites. This cheese is named by using parts of the names camembert and gorgonzola, as it shares textures, flavours, and aesthetics with both of these cheeses. Check "Oxford Dictionary" online for more explanations Have you found out about any portmanteaux that you found surprising? Or any others that you would like to share? Pls , can anybody give me tips on how to stop reading Nigeria politics news or anything that has got to do with Nigeria government. Cos all these happenings are giving me serious concern and worst lost of total hope in this present administration. I could remember during their campaign before the last election, what PMB emphasized on the most is to kill corruption. How has he not fail on his own campaign promise and persona motive. Automatically if he is to fair and sincere as he claims to be, his administration has failed before even before the last half of it term. |

DAILYPOST Boko Haram, under the leadership of Abubakar Shekau has said that it was responsible for Wednesday’s attacks on Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, that killed over 15 people. Shekau said if he died, his children will continue war against Nigeria and the West African region from where he stopped. Sahara Reporters on Saturday said Boko Haram claimed it was in possesion of uniforms, shoes, ID cards, arms and ammunition the group claimed their fighters seized from the military during the attack. The factional leader of Boko Haram stated that the group was determined to fight on and that there was no room for any dialogue. He cited Somalia, Afghanistan, and Syria where Islamist groups had waged long standing wars. Shekau also condemed those who have been claiming that the Islamist group’s war around Lake Chad was over “Our kids and grandchildren will continue from where we stopped,” Shekau vowed. http://dailypost.ng/2017/06/10/boko-haram-children-will-continue-war-nigeria-die-shekau/?uc_msg=gcm'1694586154480959488'1

Arsenal have begun discussions to sign KAS Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru, according to Sky sources. The 19-year-old is the top scorer in the Belgium domestic league, notching his 20th goal on May 20, and has been in demand with SSN HQ reporting last week that Everton, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion were keen. The forward's representatives have already told Sky Sports News HQ he wants to play in England and talks with two unnamed clubs were understood to be progressing recently. Sources close to the player said they were confident the forward would play in the Premier League next season. It seems the Gunners are now in the driving seat to acquire the services of the Nigerian forward. Oops! Celtic are also understood to have come close to signing him in January but Eupen refused to sell him during the winter transfer window. Onyekuru made his debut for Eupen in 2015 as a 17-year-old and helped the club achieve promotion to the Belgian top flight in his debut season. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/10889179/arsenal-in-talks-to-sign-henry-onyekuru-from-belgian-side-kas-eupen

I for one has always have the feeling that Humblesmith the then popular Osinarchi crooner will be a one hit artist. Forgive me but I have never believed in his talent and ability to make hits after hit. Since his reign after that Osinarchi hit, he has fail to release any song of note not to talk of another hit track. This less..., but the question is, Where is Humblesmith? Or what does the Osinarchi crooner do now? May be he's no more into music. Please anyone that knows his whereabout.. Celebrity OR "Yeyebrity"?

Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has opened a goal account in the Chinese Super League. On Sunday, the former Chelsea player scored his first goal which equally gave Tianjin TEDA their first victory in the super league this season. TEDA won the match against Chongqing Danladi Lifan by 2-0. Tianjin TEDA are now ninth on the league table with 4 points from three games. The former Chelsea star scored at the 48th minute into the game. His compatriot Brown Ideye lasted for 65 minutes before he was replaced by Dong Wang. This is the first win for Tianjin TEDA who started the season on a losing note and then recorded a draw in their second outing of the season. Meanwhile, another Super Eagles star, Odion Ighalo, was on the losing side in the Chinese Super League on Sunday morning as his club, Changchun Yatai were beaten 2-0 at home by Shandong Luneng. Ighalo, who also doubles as Changchun’s captain, led the line for his side, but fired blanks as they suffered yet another defeat which has now seen them slip to the bottom of the league table. All the Nigerian players in China were snubbed by Coach Genort Rohr for the Super Eagles friendly game against Senegal and the botched game against Burkina Faso

Tolu Olasoji 23:07 The Manchester City striker cancelled out Moussa Sow’s opener to ensure Gernot Rohr's men share the spoils with the Teranga Lions An 83rd-minute penalty from Kelechi Iheanacho helped Nigeria secure a 1-1 draw against Senegal in their friendly encounter at the Hive Stadium in London. Moussa Sow had given the Teranga Lions an early second half lead but they could not for a victory over the Super Eagles. The Senegalese started the brighter of both sides in the opening 20 minutes with Idrissa Gueye exerting his influence. And their best chance of the half fell to Sow who rattled the woodwork from close range. Halfway into the match, Super Eagles skipper for the night, Ogenyi Onazi was stretched off after collision with the Teranga Lions striker, Mame Diouf. The Trabzonspor midfielder was replaced by John Ogu. And Ogu’s combination with Wilfred Ndidi at the heart of the midfield shifted the momentum to the Rohr’s men. Nigeria could have gone ahead on two occasions, both opportunities falling to Iheanacho. The Manchester City man fizzled a low shot across the face of the Senegalese goal before missing a point blank effort after some good work from Alex Iwobi and Moses Simon. The first half ended goalless. After the interval, the Senegalese regained dominance and were rewarded nine minutes into the half after Sow benefitted from poor defending to get the curtain raiser. Rohr rang the changes with Ogenekaro Etebo and debutant, Isaac Success coming on for Iwobi and Moses respectively. Etebo almost had an instant impact after an Eagles' breakaway saw Iheanacho release the Feirense attacker whose effort was parried. However, the Eagles would have the final say in the match after Iheanacho was tripped in the area by goalkeeper Pape Ndiaye and the youngster made no mistake from 12-yard out to rescue Nigeria from their first loss under Rohr. The strike also marked his fifth in his last six games for the national team. The Super Eagles will now play their second friendly encounter against Burkina Faso at the same venue on March 27. http://m.goal.com/s/en-ng/match/nigeria-vs-senegal/2413770/report
