The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday said that President Muhammadu Buhari never ordered security agencies to shoot Nigerians summarily.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja at the end of the APC caucus meeting, he said, that the President was misinterpreted.

He said that the President at the meeting only reinforced that those involved in ballot box snatching will be doing it at the risk of their life.

He said “I was in that meeting; the president was just reinforcing the fact that if you are out there snatching ballot boxes, and causing destructions, you are at risk of your own life. Whatever happens to you; no president will give an order that his own citizens should be shot summarily, No! No, its okay, emotions are running high these days. Any individual including myself can be misinterpreted.

“These are not his words; he is a law abiding person and he understands categorically and clearly what rule of law is and the lives of individual citizens that he is in that office to protect. Now, let me run this; he has been fighting Book Haram, kidnappers and all these before this election, did you hear him asking them to be shot and executed summarily?”

He said; “By law we should continue to energise our people; it depends on our resources. Because the Electoral Act allows us to do that; and ask led us to stop campaigning only 24 hours before the actual election. And once you changed the date to Feb. 23, you have given us the opening to campaign and energise.

“If you a garden and you don’t nourish with water, the grass will remain dormant; we don’t want our party to remain dormant.

“This is ability of leadership to convert adversity to opportunity and prosperity and that’s it; that’s what we must do,” he said.

Asked if the postponement has cast doubt on the credibility of INEC, he said “It depends on how it is handled and the process. How the process is managed; you can convert a crisis–a situation of adversity to an opportunity and progress.

“The INEC, under the law, they are empowered to postpone, cancel and do whatever is necessary to ensure free and fair election. No party other the anger, the disappointment, no party can reverse that. So, we are ready for Feb. 23,” he said.

The hands of the law has finally caught up with a group of robbers after the operative of Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a unit of Lagos State Police Command arrested the syndicate believed to have been terrorising College Road, Fagba, and Abbattoir areas of the state.

The robbers were arrested on Valentine’s day at around 9:00 p.m at College Road, Ifako – Ijaiye area of Lagos, after the gang had robbed more than five passers by of their valuables brandishing knives and other harmful objects.

The suspects, whose names are: Lekan Akinyemi (23), Chimeze Ofulie( 18), Babangida Abdullahi (22), Abubakar Umaru (30), Samuel Oyinloye (24), Timileyin Oladipupo (27) and Habeeb Olayinka.

All the suspects said they came from different parts of the country but reside in Abattoir, Agege, Lagos.

The suspects had on Thursday, robbed one Agafe Augustine after he alighted from a taxi at College Road, Ifako Ijaiye. Amongst the items collected from him by the gang were; an android phone, N14,000 and a handbag.

According to Agafe, “I allowed them to rob me because they were many and were holding dangerous objects but I trailed them to an open place before raising alarm. This drew the attention of some RRS officers on patrol in the area and they arrested some of them”.

He added “ they equally robbed some other victims amongst whom were a lady in company of her boyfriend. They dispossessed them of their phones and stabbed her boyfriend who refused to let go of his mobile phone after parting with his wallet".

In his confessional statement to the crime , one of the suspects said they specialise in robbing passersby at night collecting their mobile phones, bags, jewelry and wallets.

Investigation by the police revealed that one of the suspects, Timileyin Oladipupo popularly known as ‘Timi Yahoo’, specialised in working on SIM cards of the stolen phones to determine which ones are internet banking enabled to facilitate the gang access to transfering money from victims' accounts.

In an effort to eradicate poverty by educating children, a young social entrepreneur and philanthropist, Victor Hilenen Aben has within the week organized a programme tagged to educate and sponsor internally displaced children living in the #IDPcamps tagged “IDPcamp2school” at St. Theresa's Catholic Church Camp in Yola, Adamawa state.

The programme which targeted children living in IDP camps in Adamawa State is aimed at changing their lives for the better.
In an Interview with the Coordinator of #IDPcamp2school at the launch of the programme explained that the purpose for organizing the programme is to address the challenges faced by Internally Displaced children in the society.

He said that the children are displaced due to the insurgency that rocked the northeastern part of the country as well as the middle belt which made a lot of families to lose their source of livelihood and can’t afford to send their children to school.

Hilenen said that the project will be a continuous process as he plans on taking it to other IDP camps in order to touch the lives of the children positively.

He added that their next project is to establish summer classes to make them ready for junior WAEC or even SSCE.
He lamented that raising funds for the project was not an easy task, adding that some children have the desire to further their education but are unable because they can’t afford it.

Hilenen therefore, appealed to the state government and other well-to-do citizens to support the project to educate the future generations.
One of the beneficiaries Daniel Francis appreciated Victor Hilenen and his team for initiating such project, he said that insurgency made them abandoned their town and ever since things have not been easy for them.

The Coordinator, Mr Hilenen Aben also celebrated his 30th birthday with the IDP’s and his partners from Thinking Cap Literacy Initiative and Big family foundation among others.

We have a problem of not confronting problems head on in marriages here, that is why most marriages fail here. My advice is to confront the problem head on, if the man and his nefarious behaviour can't be reigned in by the threat of reporting to authority he respects or actually reporting him to such, the marriage should go to a divorce. A man that does not respect authority should not be in a marriage in the first place! So seems like a good advice to me. I am realistic, you are in imagination land. Thanks bro, his disrespect of women and his awfully wrong stereotypes about women shows something is missing SMH.
