A yet to be identified man allegedly slumped and died at a bank in Agbor, Delta state after waiting for several hours to withdraw cash, IGBERETV reports.

Facebook user, Omole Mike, shared a photo of the deceased and wrote;
payosehtor: I have not seen any massage. But luckly for me, my neighbor was massaged through wassap by. The LG officer. You just need to go with your nin and credentials
Which credentials? Only the university one or with the secondary and primary ones? Is it the LG Office or the State Office too?
COMPAQ: As usual, we are not serious in this country.
This thing is pretty easy to stamp out. Just get plain clothes DSS and police to show up at the popular event centers in the biggest cities of Nigeria and arrest all the hawkers peddling new notes there and interrogate them to find the source and then go to the banks and arrest their suppliers, who I suspect will typically be the Head of Operation and/or Branch Manager as these are the ones with the vault key.
Bu the time this goes on aggressively for like 3-6 months, the sale of new notes at these places will fizzle away.
Another step will be to have plain clothes officers in the halls as well, to stop this practice of spraying money.
Mccullum: Speaking tough won't solve the challenges of insufficiency of the new naira notes in circulation, CBN suppose to strategize how to sanctions banks that fail to disburse new notes in circulation as expected.
Abi. The amount of the sanctions aren't clearly enough, time to increase it significantly!
Ikea81: Nigeria should bring the death sentence back..unpatriotic , thieving Nigerians should be arrested shot in front of their families, then tied and dragged by a vehicle and dump in a national pit.
Bank managers are the saboteurs in this naira notes. Every Nigeriam big or small, rich or poor always wants to take advantage of opportunities to corruptly enrich themselves. Tueh!!!!!
God1000: The paucity of new naira notes is even the problem, CBN should ensure it is adequately addressed before the end of new deadline.
Banks should stop the shenanigans going on
The new naira notes aren't even available in some ATM machines
Why CBN has not increased the sanctions significantly and start fining some banks who are saboteurs beats me! They should get to their business and fast!
Lumig: Good! CBN is really trying its best to make the new notes available but saboteurs in our commercial banking system are also devising means to frustrate these efforts. Nigerians are Nigeria's problems
You can say that again especially the last statement! Greed will not make these saboteurs do the right thing unless monitored and sanctioned!
Only Rivers State? Why not nationwide? Add 100 million naira sanctions per infraction and these d0lts will be forced to bring out the money they hoarded for the politicians and the elites.
The CBN should as a matter of urgency circulate enough of the new notes and monitor the banks to ensure they make them available to the masses before the new deadline or else there will still be another extension.
At the end of the day the elites and politicians are still mopping/hoarding the notes while the masses are the ones suffering. Buhari and Emefiele should understand what's really going on.
backnbeta: A POS operator told me she "bought" her new notes (we can imagine where they "bought" from), hence the 400 on every 5,000 withdrawn! I believe the new notes are already on polithiefcians' hands
Islandboi: So there’s this friend of mine who works as bank manager in one of the top bank just got rich overnight. I noticed he just changed his car, also sacrifices to take some responsibility on his should at the estate.
His wife also bought new car and require the abandoned supermarket along the road. He just changed his children school as well. I think he has been changing money for these politicians and receiving his shares.
I will ask him what’s going on today after church services.
phonny22: It's your right to ask for new notes at the POS and if they don't have you should move to the next POS
You can say that again! If we are all doing that, they would be forced to bring the new notes closer to the customers even if they have to increase the charges for inconvenience and long queueing at the ATMs that bring out such.
Rayban25: Oga the banks are lying...most of this bank managers are on the payrolls of politicians hope you know...so theyll give the politicians these notes hen come and tell us citizens that the CBN didnt remi enogh notes to them
You can say that again! These banks are the saboteurs.
Parachoko: Why's the CBN not sanctioning the banks?
They are but the sanctions are clearly a slap on the wrist for banks as they are clearly not flinching. Time to up the sanctions if they are serious about dealing with these saboteurs!
bizzibodi: Looters are smarter than the system they have already swapped their stashed cash, why do you think ordinary people cannot get d new notes?...the compromised banks are now giving us d old notes swapped from the looters...making us d fall guys.
Abi o. They have now become smart by eliminating paper trails for these politicians and immediately sending these rogue money out of the system to their customers through ATMs so as not to be caught! This must be stopped!
victooman: if banks refuse to increase circulation of new notes they will still extend it again,,, cashless policy kill u there!!! when they place withdrawal limit at 500k per week did Nigerians complain? circulate the money at least let every account owner be entitled to the said 500k a week before they can go own fighting themselves,, let them not frustrate an average Nigerian with their useless political banter
Are you even sure that the withdrawal limits are even in force and there is not a policy somersault with account limit tracing rather than BVN tracking? Trust Nigerians to take advantage of that loophole if it exists.
adioolayi: Emefiele will need to sit with the Bank CEOs and address the saboteurs of this new Naira notes circulation implementation.
The saboteurs will be sitting across from him in the room. No time for such meetings. Time to slap them with heavy 100 million naira fines per infraction and these saboteurs will behave.
