Coldie: The cbn should make it illegal for banks to be dispensing old naira notes. Cause it makes no sense that u will go to a bank and they will give u old notes Abi o. Heavy sanctions like 100 million naira per infraction will force these saboteur banks to behave. |

seunmsg: I’m glad common sense finally prevailed. In addition, CBN should immediately ban banks from issuing the old notes. Only the new notes should be issued from all ATM machines and across the counter from Monday. Any bank still issuing the old notes should be heavily sanctioned. Abi. Very very heavy sanctions like 100 million naira per infraction not the slap on the wrist they are giving out currently. No over the counter for now sha due to our greedy politicians and the policy saying you can withdraw excess of the withdrawal limits only over the counter. Also, the withdrawal limits should go into force immediately by BVN tracking not account tracking due to mischievous Nigerians along with loading only 200 naira notes into the ATMs. With this, the new notes will circulate. |

Mrkumareze: Banks are the major setback we have, they receive the new notes and hand it over to the corrupt politicians in exchange for their bulk money. This gives bank manager good profit as they usually charge from 10 to 20 percent for such huge deal Abi. They are the saboteurs we and the CBN should be facing for their greed. |

MatrixCircle: Now kidnappers and corrupt politicians are now distributing thier ill gotten wealth among bankers and some hired people to go and pay into the banks because most of them can't pay in the loots in thier names. That's the reliable information circulating. When did the Nigerian politicians started speaking for the poor masses if not in a way for them to pay in the ill gotten loots. Many of the guys carrying those money on queues at various banks around the country are not the real owners. Just take a look at them. They are paying in for criminals. Just take a look at them. At least 10 days extention will not enter election periods. Let people vote thier conscience and a better Nigeria. You see that? Nigerians are very corrupt, very very! Time for the EFCC and the Banks to start arresting such people and asking them where they got such huge money to nip this in the bud. |

SunMusk: Let the money ease to become a legal tender on the 31st January but banks should collect it until March or April. This is how advance country do things. The running of monetary policy is in the hand of the cbn. Not the president, even US president didn't have a say when the FED make policy. But Nigeria is just corruption corruption. The should just focus on the fiscal policy of things through is ministers. This confusion should stop if Nigeria must get it right. This is a better idea. Don't know why they didn't think this through. |

Solababa91: You're right, there is a video making the rounds of an individual who was spraying with bails of 500 naira new note, my calculation from the clip I got amounted to 500,000 (10 bails of 500 naira), I'm sure he would have more of it for him to gift a scarce currency of such, the CBN has to go tough and harsh on commercial banks who defy loading ATMS only with the new currency as directed by the CBN Governor and not pay over the counter. Deposit only should be done over the counter and even if new notes will be given over the counter, the withdrawal limit should be strictly adhered to. The guy's account should be traced, the bank and the official who issued him sick large amount of money should be severely dealt with. You and I are saying the same thing. These banks are saboteurs, how our people don't know beats me. They are hoarding the new notes for side businesses with more cuts. |

Solababa91: Postponed or not, I don't expect the new naira note to be everywhere as was the old one, the idea of the whole currency redesign is to reduce money in circulation and push transactions online. It can still be everywhere if the withdrawal limits come into force by BVN tracking not account tracking (it can be done!) by a directive from the CBN to the banks along with the new notes paid only through the ATMs so the people withdrawing excess of the limits would be unable to for now since they can only get it over-the-counter. That way, the people who withdraw cash unnecessarily are checked. Another solution too is to load the ATMs with 200 naira notes instead of 1k notes, as those with huge cash withdrawals know they will be predisposing themselves to thieves and pickpockets with the huge number of notes in their hands than before. |

Padipadi: Buhari's has no ball. Common sense suppose tell him he's to give 6 months notice ahead for the new notes to be in full circulation. If he did the policy in order to curb politicians, then it has failed with the extension. I just don't like a man that pretends to be good but is very bad! At the end, people ll hate APC more cos the common man has nothing more to go and change in the bank. The looters has 10 more days to loot/exchange old notes. So...I disagree with the president on this extension. If I m in his shoes, I would v implemented this policy since early last year and give 6 months maximum notice with eagles eyes to watch who's exchanging huge cash. I go catch lots of people and ask where they saw huge cash to exchange. Abi. Also, I would have noted the numbers on the new currency and see if it is possible for the ATMs with the current policy of no over-the-counter new currency payments to get some of these greedy bank managers and MDs in trouble who are saboteurs. |

IMASTEX: Why shouldn't they? If banks that were supposed to be the main means through which the old notes should be faced out were still paying with the same old notes as at last week? Still doesn't say the banks won't do the same as before. They are sabotaging the CBN's efforts. |

If you've seen other African countries notes, like Egypt, Angola etc, you'll see what they call beauty.
I might even attach the photos.
I want people to see that our currency which was beautiful before is now behind many African country currency. That Botswana one is excellent and also hard to counterfeit. |

Whettodo: I have been working with a factory for 5 months now, I want to change to a dispatch rider's job there's not much if a difference in the pay..
Factory pays 34k dispatch rider pays 40k salary 10k for bike maintenance, fuel and data..
The factory job comes with the regular stress of the job at times stress is crazy most times it's normal
I don't have prior experience with a motorcycle. I deliver foods customer's can cancel and i pay for the food from my salary
Restaurant is new max of five deliveries in a day, have to be online for at least 15 hours a day..
At times there might be no orders in a day sit around all day or stay at home get ur order pick it up and deliver... You still get paid if you have no orders Get paid 25k two times a month
Should I stay with my factory job or become a dispatch rider for jumia or an ordinary delivery company
Ordinary company means more work but I'm cool with that.. Dispatch rider bro. Less stressful and plenty time on your hands for more hustles! |

zeemahn: Lol. You'll still collect old Naira notes as change. I started withdrawing new notes since ending of last year. But today I still have a lot of old notes because 5h and 2h are scarce as hell. I was thinking that ATMs will be stocked with 2H in line with the CBN policy but alas - 1k everywhere. Abi. Policy somersault incoming. |

lsoul: This will keep people stranded next week, some much of 1000naira note in circulation already, so if one enters a bus and pay fare of 300naira, how are they going cope with giving change of 500 and 200. That is the million dollar question. Solution is loading the ATMs with 200 naira first and then after a few weeks, go up to 500 and 1000 for easy change and the 200 notes would have circulated already. |

For example: Mr A studied Medicine and came out with 3rd class degree.
Mr B studied Botany and came out with first class degree.
Does Mr A still have a higher chance of getting employed than Mr B? The result I had. The stress I went through to get that result, I never wish to have that kind of stress again. |
