boxypane: A question that has already been answered by the topic. I expected the country to be upside down when the Senate decided against immediate electronic transmission of election results. But really, are Nigerians worth fighting for? Lots of issues that has led to anarchy and change in government in other meaningful countries, passes in Nigeria like the wind... Let us drop sentiments aside , to hell with tribe or class.... Theae thieving politicians suppose learn bitter lessons. There you go again. There much more dangerous things in that bill than electronic transmission of results. The opposition didn't notice that but went all out protesting against only electronic transmission of results hence the summit they had in ibadan yesterday. Go read the new electoral acts and spot the real traps in there |

rejoice4eva: I have shown you. I am not a fan of subsidy. Tinubu removed subsidies on these Three essentials at the same time, nobody is complaining. And it is never an achievement as you people are projecting it The main problem is that they have nothing to show for it, due to lack of fiscal discipline, accountability and massive corruption. Nigerians have become poorer, not because of subsidy or lack of it, but because of incompetent leaders You showed me nothing. But I agree with you that it wasn't properly planned and fiscal indiscipline . Note that I'm also affected by the subsidy removal but it's not sustainable and I stand by it. We will be fine with time |

Yemmysworld91: You don't seem to understand me. I'm not saying countries don't subsidize things for their citizens. Subsidy is normal. Even the UK subsidizes food and that's why irrespective of the inflation, food prices doesn't rice again. Let me ask you my question directly below. You just listed countries with the various subsidies. Egypt made it three times but it's clearly stated that it's a managed exchange rate, especially during crises. Do you understand yourself
Note that countries subsidizes based in essentials and how it's convenient for the economy. It's not sustainable for the country's economic to continue to subsidize the three. I ask again
Mention countries in the world that subsidizes fuel, electricity and fx exchange rate at the same time? |

rejoice4eva: FOREX Egypt (managed exchange rate, especially during crises) Argentina (strict FX controls and subsidized rates) Venezuela (extreme forex controls) Iran (official vs black market rates) Ethiopia (controlled FX allocation)
ELECTRICITY Egypt (historically large electricity support, now reducing) IEA India (subsidized power for farmers and households) Pakistan Indonesia South Africa (partial support via tariffs) Algeria (heavily subsidized utilities)
FUEL Saudi Arabia Iran Kuwait Bahrain Egypt Algeria Latin America Venezuela Ecuador Bolivia Asia Indonesia Myanmar
I just furnished you with this , to prove to you that most of the times, you people support your oppressors blindly. South Africa generates thousands of Megawatts of electricity and still subsidizes, but Nigeria? You don't seem to understand me. Do you understand yourself Let me add that, I believe the Tinubu government should currently be subsidizing fuel for the populace to the current crises in Iran. Some countries did for this period Note that countries subsidizes based in essentials and how it's convenient for the economy. It's not sustainable for the country's economic to continue to subsidize the three. I ask again Mention countries in the world that subsidizes fuel, electricity and fx exchange rate at the same time? |

rejoice4eva: The problem of Nigeria is not actually the subsidies. Many countries that are even more developed, subsidize certain essentials for their citizens. The Nigerian problem is waste, corruption, and larger than life living of the ruling elite. Do you know how many vehicles in the convoy of LG chairmen, legislators, governor's not to talk of your president. At whose expense? In Nigeria, more taxes, charges, no subsidies, yet poor salary, high cost of transportation, no electricity, no security, no good education.... What are you insinuating? Blaming those who are not in power yet? Your likes supported Buharis failure. Why? Tell me one country in the world where these three things are subsidized, fuel, electricity and Fx rate and you win? Yes countries subsidized certain things. But those are the three major subsidies removed by this government that we are all suffering for. Note the usage of "we" cos it also badly affected me. But I'm just being a realist. I agree with you on corruption, I won't go the way of explaining how poor our tax system is that this administration is trying to build. A lot to say. Bit answer the question I started with and win this back and forth |
Politics › Re: Cost Of Filling 50 Litres Of A Corolla Car From OBJ To Tinubu Govt - Rufai Oseni by Yemmysworld91: 2:18pm On Apr 26 |
rejoice4eva: First ask the one you are supporting now, why Nigeria is suffering from badly removed subsidy and they are still borrowing massively with little or nothing to show for it. Atiku and Obi are not Nigeria problem for now. Ask those in charge And I'm stating the reality that neither of those you want to return the subsidies will do it. I hope Tinubu loses next election and you people will clearly see it. No Nigerian government will bring back those subsidies that we are all suffering for. Tinubu already took the bullet for them and they will praise him for it in few years. And for the borrowing, they are doing it for infrastructural deficit. And they can borrow more cos the wastage on subsidies have been blocked. I sincerely do not support the government on continuous borrowing ,but I'm not in government. But subsidies isn't coming back even if Tinubu loses. That's a fact ignorant majority of you noise makers don't understand |

You will be surprised in years to come when the opposition will affirm that Tinubu has done the right thing with the subsidies removal in fuel electricity and fx. |

Obi and Atiku should campaign with subsidies return. They should promise to reverse all these reforms, I want to check something. As in the guy dense gan. Just to get support from the mobs. One question the opposition should be asked is if they'd bring back subsidies that Tinubu removed. Tinubu government took the blame that all previous government are scared of. LegendHero: Baba, Dapo beat OGD even in roads and infrastructure. I sabi Ogun state well too coz my mom is from Ogun state. Stayed in Ijebu for some time and did my NYSC in Abeokuta at Oke Ilewo.
I don’t know why you guys just usually banter Dapo with roads when that guy indeed constructed roads that are actually verifiable.
Some of the roads that people abuse him with are FG roads and majorly in Ogun West which some of them is being done now by both FG and Dapo.
Forget the usual Dapo banter, that guy solid. I might not blame OGD too much because governors these days have more money per capital compared to back then. Baba you no sabi Ogun state. Even inside his ijebu there are bad roads. Minor roads in ogun west is a mess. No touch at all. Some roads Amosun started we're abandoned by him. Some already dualized road under construction were turned to one by dapo and the other side abandoned. I know a road like that in abeokuta that a gutter is in the middle of the express way. I'm core ogun boy baba. Dapo is a mess of a governor. Even if he gets the senatorial ticket he may lose if the opposition present someone better. He's useless. I will stand by that anyday anytime. |

LegendHero: On what basis is Dapo the worst governor?
Road? Salaries? Housing? Attraction of industries? IGR? What exactly?
Tell us the most impactful project of OGD? In all fairness, the civil servants in ogun state enjoyed him more than Amosun. Daniel had no issues with the civil servants too. But in terms of roads and infrastructural development Dapo has been poor. Even the few roads he managed to construct were poorly done. Moved airport that work was already ongoing from Ewekoro to his hometown. I know of newly constructed roads by Daniel. I can't and don't have patience to type here. Ogun had ogroma under Daniel. Abeg, Dapo na bad governor abeg. I be core ogun boy oo Ogun and Edo state dey compete in terms of bad roads ooo I'm a regular traveler and I know what I'm saying. As I type I no even dey house.
