blamingthedevil: Nationwide ASUU Strikes in 🇳🇬‼️
Since 1999, ASUU has gone on nationwide strikes more than 16 times, totaling over 1,700 days (about 4.7 years) of university shutdowns
Buhari – ~580–630 days Obasanjo – ~541 days Jonathan – ~359 days Yar’Adua – ~127 days
Tinubu – 0 days 💯🥂💪🏾
source ASUU had about two weeks warning strike October or November last year. Let's be factual But chances of we having another ASUU strike in four to five years is slim with the latest increment. The lecturers are enjoying Jagaban |

I'm surprised that brt lady got a lot of support. Her protest is right, but her actions is wrong. This law isn't peculiar to Nigeria. You shouldn't be recording people without their consent. You only have the right to record me if I'm at an organized event. But randomly recording people is a crime. But we argue with sentiments and gladly support anything against the current government. But what do I know
Another thing is, it's not a must she takes brt on that route, danfo buses are available. She was just chasing clout. It is well. |

Education › Re: How Jamb Got My Sister Stuck In An Unpreferred Course by Yemmysworld91: 12:41pm On Mar 05 |
bigpicture001: Quietly jamb has changes some of its most standing rules without them even hitting the news..
My sister got applied to study medicine but ended up getting parasitology... Because sh is crazy about leaving home, we all did her registration and sh packed to her new location ...
We have a plan as it has always been in Nigeria that sh will write a new jamb ND this time try out for medical lab science and sh is now find of this course.. but after purchasing the jamb E-pin and getting to register her biodata... The system brought out her profile with a yes or no questions about her making a very strange decision..
The site asked her to press YES if sh agrees that sh will forfeit her already gotten admission into her school where sh studies parasitology or press NO if sh is to discontinue this registration and safe guard her already gotten admission...
I didn't believe her when I was told and we tried it again in my presence before I can believe...
Omoh, jamb has got alot of our kids stuck in courses they dnt prefer all cus education system does not know how to assimilate the army of students seeking admission earnestly...
Have u experience this ? Add you're say You didn't pass the message clearly Read below, someone already posted the original letter from jamb for clarification. So, she can register new jamb. She will only forfeit the current admission if she gets a new admission for her desired course. No course for alarm. I don't like the policy but it is what it is |

I've been more focused on the backend and working on new features. It seems as if the moderation and other issues have fallen behind.
So, talk to me. What should we focus on in order to encourage you to start being more active on Nairaland?
PS: I have people dropping me messages presuming that Nairaland is over. What's that about? I don't know if you can put direct messaging instead of using mail. It will go a long way |

A debate came up in the house and the majority in the house won the vote and the president rightly signed, how's that a rape of democracy? It's obvious you have little knowledge on governance and is just arguing with sentimentality. |

Keep supporting nonsense, keep supporting backwardness because you think it favors you, mind you, I m a Yoruba person, but I will always stand for truth and justice..In your honest assement, these shamble of elections is ok and perfect by you? and election where people stayed somewhere abd write results, these shamble they did in 2023, where in day light, they manipulated and change results is what you called elections. It would get to everybody, but when the table turns, let us Yorubas not complain o..We Yorubas are in govt now, but we failed to make history, and create a free, fair and credible Election. This isn't even about tribe. I analyzed the signing of the bill and didn't show any form of support whatsoever. And I'm not in support of any form of electoral fraud. but I just gave a candid analysis of the passage and signing of the bill. Democracy played out. You can defend rubbish sha. This kind of Nigerians, no brain to reason. If that law has contained mandatory E - transmission, would he has signed it with this speed? yeye dey smell .. He either had to sign or reject it. That's the beauty of democracy. With the signing Inec can go on with the election plans within the stipulated time frame. He has made a decision and that will allow Inec go on has planned. It's unfortunate that you are one of the Nigerians without brain to know that Inec is behind schedule and that was the reason for the emergency meetings by the national assembly. The bill needed hasty attention by executive and legislative arm of government. The needful has been done and you are still complaining. |

Leepeak: U are a mumu man read wetin u type again You people can't argue without insult. Go and read the electoral act and get to know that Inec has to bring out the schedule to the election about 300+ days before the election, hence the haste in the decisions . You are the real mumu here cos you can only insult with no knowledge. The real shock in what Tinubu signed is the fact that party primaries will be through direct election or consensus. Whereas mumus like you focus on the transmission only. Dey play oo |
Politics › Re: President Bola Tinubu Signs Electoral Bill Into Law by Yemmysworld91: 5:52pm On Feb 18 |
Tingotoe: I doubt it. It's deliberate and also Tinubu wants to ensure the bill remains as it is No sir. Fact check me. The electoral act specified a certain number of days. That was why Inec released the timetable even though it was clashing with next Ramadan and lent. It was also the reason why the national assembly conveyed emergency meetings cos they are the only one who can change the rules for the days before the election and also speedup on the transmission debate. |
Politics › Re: President Bola Tinubu Signs Electoral Bill Into Law by Yemmysworld91: 5:46pm On Feb 18 |
Those criticizing the haste in signing don't seem to understand that Inec is already behind schedule based on the electoral act. So, the haste in signing the bill is necessary |

siaco: The masses can override those foolish majority in national Assembly Oya lead the charge, I will join you. Religion, politics, tribalism has been used to divide us. Chances of a revolution in Nigeria is slim. We didn't revolt when Buhari came in with massive inflation. We didn't protest when Tinubu removed subsidies on fuel, electricity and FX. Is it on this we will protest? I doubt. Make i no talk about how weakened the labour union is and how poorly and selfishly organized the opposition parties are. It is well |

Fiscus105: The beauty of democracy is wen the legislators are doing the biddings of those who they are representing and not not personal interest.
Policies makers should introduce policies that will do good to nations building and personal benefits. I agree with you. But this is Nigeria where they collect money from them during electioneering. The legislator then tries to recoup his spendings when he gets to power. They protect their personal interests and ignore the interest of the masses. God help us |
