BusinessBusinesses That Students Engage In 2020 by Yeraa(op):
Its so normal for Undergraduates to start up small businesses to support themselves in school. Being a student, it's so amazing seeing people start on barely a kobo from their allowance, but expand so much .What businesses are there in your school and which do you think are the best?

Some common ones are

1. Graphic designing: I'm sure you see it everywhere, it's definitely popular among students. Its a very good way to make money with your personal computer.

2.Ghost writing: This is where I'm jealous of the intelligent kids in class. Every department has its top students, to make extra money they charge their course mates money to write their assignments and projects for them

3. Tutoring: Public unis don't usually have the most dedicated lecturers. So students that highly understand some courses arrange tutorials for others, after all, everyone just wants to pass.

4. Make up artistry : One thing about girls on campus, they must look good. The typical student wants to have a perfect face beat. So it's just the right setting to be a make up artist especially since girls go to weddings ,church ,clubs etc Outside make up artists cost more than what a student can afford,so they patronise students instead.

5. Reselling in school hostels: Sometimes you're in your hostel and don't want to leave to buy something, no problem, there are always those that buy things in bulk, bring to the hostel and sell like bread, kerosene etc

6. Food business: With school stress comes hunger. So many food businesses strive in school especially snacks and fast food from suya, indomie, bread and egg, pancakes, sharwarma, pizza, packed lunch, popcorn, ice cream, puff puff. Birthday cakes and matric cakes, from small scale to large scale. There's always need for food. I just remember how there's disappointment when a seller says he's used up all his ingredients and we'd go home disappointed. If you're good in the kitchen in any way, capitalise on it.

Feel free to add yours..........

Well I don't even have time to disagree with the post, I'd just like to say that right now I'm not keen on marriage not even relationships and I'm a student lol. Although it's motherhood that has my heart. Though I need to work hard to bring my babies into comfort.

Please am so sorry...I just gave my tentative view on this. I only needed your opinion. You did gave yours, and am immensely grateful. But calling it meaningless was what I needed more clarification.
My sisters were not my only case study. For crying out loud, this isn't a self fabricated topic. I was only trying to help a friend with more points. She has a paper presentation on this, since you cared to know.
I wasn't in anyway saying men were superior to women. I just said they are the head of their families and the society at large perhaps the reason why they are more logical.
Am so sorry for talking about the choleric and the marriage part. I was just so dumbstruck, that this thread has pissed you off. I had no such intentions.
By the way, I like you. Am terribly sorry for everything.
Well now I understand you better. I definitely did not see your first post as academic driven if not I would have treated it as such. I must give you respect for seeking opinions for your friends paper and for making your observations however you did. As per the marriage and choleric issue, no offence taken. I initially believed your post was egoist opinions thats why I opposed it . Apologies accepted but I'm also really sorry for my harsh and steel like approach. Good luck on your study.

Chenzee:
Sorry ooo Madam...But I must say you baffle me tremendously, for myopically interpreting it the way you have. The ladies above you opined peacefully and happily. I believe it's just the usual inferiority complex in you that is getting you disgruntled (so you are a practising feminist?). I never knew you were a choleric until now. It's very unhealthy for you. Try and curb all this short temper of yours before getting married. You will thank me later.
Its a well known fact that, men are logical beings while women are emotional beings. I don't watch movies with my sisters, coz you either find them sobbing through out the entire duration of all these Philippines' movies or they tell you to explain every single scene of movies like "24". They prefer straight forward movies.
Men are heads of their families and further translates to the society. Hence the reason for their being more logical.
Men love emotional but not hyper sensitive women coz that's the source of all nagging and all these feministic palaver (HYPER-SENSITIVITY).
Check your sensitivity level.
I gave my inconclusive and tentative opinion after doing some personal research. I asked for yours so I could learn more and you are ranting.
SORRY
if you perceive my own take as myopic there's no sin there, not every one is that neutral and or able minded to understand some points. I am not blind and I saw what those ladies said but I stand by what I said nonetheless. I suffer from no inferiority complex, rather you should check your warped superiority complex the way you opened a thread to massage your ego. Since being a choleric has health risks, care to educate me on it. I'm amused, 'an educational' thread on mathematics and the best you can do is tell me what to do before marriage? keep the golden advice for your guys. it's a good thing I now know your case study are your sisters I would have taken your piece less seriously. I'd check my sensitivity level when you check your own poor perception of logic. My points are hundred percent opposite to yours and you call it ranting. Nope, I spoke in relation to the topic at hand and you seem to not like it . Even if I rant, it's a forum is it not? and points are still made during rants.[/quote]
CelebritiesRe: Speed Darlington Shares Nude Photo Of Lady Who Refused To Have Sex With Him by Yeraa(f): 8:18pm On Jan 21, 2019
This guy should be taken to court. People need to take legal action more. Honestly women and men shouldn't share these private pictures, you can't trust anyone.

speed or whatever is an idiot and portrayed his disgusting entitlement reasoning. You do not owe women your resources but also women don't owe you audience, attention, or sexual relations okay.
The guy couldn't bear not getting his yes. Is he entitled to it? NO. There are numerous other ladies that would go to bed with him yet his feelings and ego was hurt with this one. Very irrational, over emotional ,childish ,stupid and wrong.
EducationRe: Why Do Most Ladies Hate Mathematics So Much? by Yeraa(f): 7:16pm On Jan 21, 2019
This thread reeks of bad taste. I don't get how you came to a conclusion that ladies hate maths. You implied that ladies hate maths because they are not logical. What is even your backing for such proclamation. I'm positive that mathematics is not the sole judge of a person's logical capacity for there are other climes that require such.
Mind you these love films and nollywood movies that you mentioned and indirectly shamed a group for liking shares something similar with action and high technology films. They are all fiction. Even the "high technology" is mostly science fiction based on imagined science than what is logically and scientifically possible yet you feel smart for watching them.
With all due respect , you don't even sound as bright as you try to elevate your gender on the basis of mathematics. Emotion hinders mathematics in no way and don't even claim it stops one from thinking outside the box. Humans have emotions. How you express them or feel them does not make you smarter or dimmer just by that.
Word of advice don't make such meaningless threads. Thank you.
EducationHow Can I Learn A New Language by Yeraa(op): 7:15pm On Jan 21, 2019
I'm interested in learning French. I hope to do this on my own without paying an actual tutor or going to a center because I wouldn't have time for arranged classes due to other commitments. I understand it will take a long period of time for me to become fluent in reading, speaking and writing but I do have little knowledge from learning in primary and secondary school so it's not totally strange to me.
How can I achieve this, any suggestions?

You know this for sure?

A lot of Nigerian men will tell you they prefer Hispanic/Latinas to black. Is this also conditioning?
There's something about the exotic you know.
People love the exotic for sure, but the African woman is not played in the media as exotic to outsiders true or false? Social conditioning does a lot. Nigerian men boldly claim there preference of Latinas and dream of finding one to wife due to being instilled that they deserve the best as wives but us females in Nigeria have really been conditioned to go attach to a Nigerian, because that's what we are meant to do.

Funny, but to be frank young minds can generate a lot. Underestimating and silencing them is an issue in Nigeria that people don't talk about. Other countries have their kids and youths doing amazing things but here we tell them to go cram a book or just do homework.

The bold is a cliché argument that is very false by my reckoning.
The Blackman can also argue that his backwardness is the result of the White man's incursion and exploitation through slavery. In fact a man called Walter Rodney wrote a book titled "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa".
The woman has been unable to invent anything because she is ill-equipped physically and perhaps mentally and not because of any subjugation.

My point: It is very easy to trade blame and absolve oneself or in this case one's gender of responsibility.

Cc: Yeraa
Cliche? I stand by my patriarchy argument regardless. Slavery and exploitation DID set the blackman back by miles. The debate remains to ask if it's absolutely the white man's fault or that the Blackmans self pity contributes significantly and too much to his issue. I love that word "ill - equipped". I believe I agree with the motion that says women have not and presently to varying degrees, not equipped with the same training, space, opportunities, conditioning to make inventions.

I know what melanin is.

Whoever said looking good was enough, or even required for anything?

You seem to have veered from what I thought was the message of the thread. It's cool though. I get where you are at now.

But is it really media conditioning or are some people naturally attracted to those with little or no melanin.

Think of it like a chicken and egg situation. Is what you perceive as media conditioning really that, or is it simply a reaction to our inherent desire for a lighter appearance? Which came first? Our desire for lighter skin or television?
I don't see it as that chicken or egg scenario. If televisions were created in Africa first and we established it world wide with more control of what goes on it, People would digest and go along with what we show them.

And what did black women ever invent? Or let me widen the scope, women in general?
Not much really and very little in comparison to men, not to say that women haven't invented anything. That is because the patriarchy has kept us down as home nurturers with no room in history to use our God given brains. Hopefully that would change with this generation and the ones to come.

The last person on my mind is buhari. I don't even care for the story of cloning, but imagine the insults coming from Nigerians overseas. Like they have the guts to call us in summary mad/ crazy. Why wouldn't we be crazy living under these mad conditions. Speaking from places that are civil, advanced and "greener", they dare mock us when they've probably forgotten how it feels. I really don't blame those with the conspiracy theories.

That's a bad response and it says a lot why she's still single at such an old age. She must have passed the normal thresold age for her to be reminded of such. And it takes a caring family member to still have the time to remind her that "Time waits for no man"

My instinct tells me that vast majority of female folks supporting her rude and disrespectful behaviour would be aged 30 and above. It's not because they re happy with their situations but because they feel they have found a new way of staying relevant.

Ladies, take it or leave it, if you are 30 years and above and still single, you are not just outdated but also expired. There's no hope for you because you are worthless; no amount of 'waiting for the right time' would save your situation.

We guys have found new life and bright future in young girls. Gone are those days when age matters in choosing partners, not anymore. Young girls understand, live and give it far better than the old cargoes. It just a pity how the tide has turned. cry
To people reading this, humans don't expire unless you mean death. Nobody is worthless for such reason, distasteful remarks like that can fuel suicidal thoughts in people. Her so called rude behaviour if you see it that way has been said, her aunt should carry the cross/grudge. Don't be pressured to settle ladies, work hard take yourself overseas and try making a family with someone foreign if they tag you "old cargo" over here. After all there are men who aren't Nigerian.
