I commend the efforts of Dr Ikpeazu to right the wrongs done to Aba by the wicked T.A Orji...
But many abians are worrried by the recent upsurge of Kidnappings in Aba and would like to know what plans the governor has to tackle this ugly act. Please if the governor is reading this let abians know your stand about the recent return of kidnappings as some have even insinuated that the kidnappers are working for the governor angry angry angry

Thanks.

It is fufu made from cauliflower a vegetable that's almost like broccoli except it is white/cream in color.

I blended it and used to with little mashed potato to make the fufu.
Thank you....learning new things every day.

In terms of consistency won't it be too soft to manipulate while eating.

Did you blend the cauliflower fresh or did you dry before blending, and if you did blend fresh was it after boiling or rather raw??

I am really interested in trying this in my kitchen . Thanks again.

Thank you.

Its just very simple.

Ingredients.
Veg
Pepper
Tomatoes
G/oil
Maggi
Salt
Onion.

Cut your veg , grind or slice your pepper and tomatoes (Little quantity). Put your pot on the fire and add very little quantity of G/oil, add onion and allow to steam a bit (without getting burnt) add your grinded pepper and tomatoes mixture and allow to cook, add a cube of Maggi and salt then allow to cook, add your beg and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes and serve. ( sometimes I leave for 2 minutes, veg is not suppose to stay long on the fire.

Please know that you can always slice and grind your tomatoes and pepper as you wish. I used grinding stone for mine today, sometimes I use mortar and sometimes I slice slice or use blender or hand blender, the choice is yours and it shouldn't be too smooth. Also you can use any veg of your choice, I used green today, I wanted pumpkin leaf but could not get it around the house.
Thanks a lot !
I will try mine very soon.

Of all the lovely dishes she has prepared and posted on this thread, this is the only compliment you have to make thereby gradually derailing this beautiful thread ?
What obviously you lack is respect and courtesy.
Though babyosisi has her own problem (has insulted me on DJ's thread) but that cannot alter my sense of judgement and appreciation. I love and appreciate her beautiful dishes and her efforts to post them.
Please let us all be careful to what extent we take our jokes and learn to appreciate peoples' efforts.
The message is respect, appreciate, encourage and do not demoralise people. No hard feelings please.

@ cococandy : thanks for posting your mouth-watering dishes as well but more especially for display of maturity and courtesy wink

@r231
Please can we have a second opinion on this dialysis option? I have an uncle who was asked to do same but eventually got healed through 'conservative treatment' suggested by another doctor at OAUTH.
Quite right...
This was why I raised a concern on "dialysis" in a stage 1 renal disease.
Even in severe electrolytes derangements like severe hyperkalemia (more likely in a kidney impairement), several medical managements exist which in most cases resolve the problem more so in a patient with stage 1 kidney impairement.
Let's hope the dialysis if at all given to DJ, is really justified medically.

r231:
I spoke to the doctor and he said it is not only in end stage kidney kidney disease that you have dialysis that in some cases, you might have severe electrolyte imbalance in the body that you just have to dialyze.

He said its the case if end stage, the patient will need dialysis permanently but for him, it will be just this once. At most, twice and that's all
Thank you for your response.
I hereby assume that the hospital has exhausted all other treatment modalities for these "electrolyte imballances" leaving them with no other option than this (normally last resort) dialysis and hopefully it's not going to be needed on a continous basis.

More Updates!!!!

Due to the chemical imbalance in his blood (from a blood test done this morning) Hameed will be having dialysis today. Remember we mentioned that preliminary results shows stage one kidney medical disease.

The dialysis will be done here at the hospital.

TeHN
Thank you so much for these positive updates....
Just wondering whether they have really done a proper kidney work-up and staging for his kidney status because dialysis for stage 1 kidney failure sounds very strange medically.
I ll suggest you diplomatically ask the doctor if the latest blood work on him still supports stage 1 kidney disease or a progression to further kidney deterioration to the extent of requiring a dialysis.
God bless you Hameed and all Nairalanders !
Victory will be his and all glory to God.

cosmatika:
Pls drs in d haus, is ascites a diagnosis?
Ideally not a diagnosis on its own because it's usually as a result of a significant (mostly intra-abdominal) pathology ....
Ascites just means abnormal collection of fluids in the abdomen of which a real and complete diagnosis must include what is causing the ascites.

UPDATE!!!!

Hameed has been checked in, his vitals taken and he has been seen by the doctors. A specialist was also called in today to attend to him and the specialist asked the hospital to take him to a laboratory in surulere for  the tests but on getting there, the power supply was cut off and their back off generator was not functional so the test would be done on monday while we await the results of the tests being done at the hospital (in house tests).

As you are aware, he did not finish his tests at LUTH and the tests in Eruwa is inconclusive so we can not do much without those results so we need to wait so as to be really sure what is wrong with him to avoid giving the wrong treatment.

He is in safe hands, talking, eating and not in any urgent medical situation and he has also being admitted for close observation.

Someone was asked to stay with him to spend the night and his brother volunteered so he is there with him.

Hameed sends his thanks and gratitude for your graciousness and kindness towards him.

Regards

TeHN
Thanks a lot for this update.
This stage of his management is very crucial (diagnostic stage) because without a proper definitive diagnosis, a correct management plan will elude us.
God bless DJ and all Nairalanders.

Thats not just a cross.
Look closely U will see two hands gripping each other firmly which passes a message on its own and in this scenario the cross repz health.
As for the hand i will work on that.
Yea I saw what you mean but I am wondering if you replace the cross with a love sign for example and still maintain the background image, it will come out fine.
The first thing that comes to mind with a cross beside the image in this context is "ob***ry".
But if the house accepts it that way it's ok.
Thanks again for a good work.

UPDATE!!!!

So sorry for the late update, we have been on the phone allday trying to work out a solution.

Basically this is what is going on:-

They arrived in Lagos around 3pm this afternoon and head straight to the hospital in VI. On getting there it turns out that this hospital only do dialysis so we have to get his test first and undergo the first session of dialysis before they step in so they referred us to another hospital in Gbagada.

Getting to Gbagada, unfortunately they dont have a bed space so they cant admit him and they turn around and refer us to Island Hospital. Getting to Island hospital - same story no bed space and cant admit.

Unfortunately, no test has been done previously as both LUTH and the Eruwa was just wasting everyone's time.

We then went to St Nicholas same story.

At this point patient is already tired and has to go back home and continue the whole process tomorrow morning.

We have done more research and made some calls so we have one that is willing to take him tomorrow morning, do the tests and we take it from there.

Thank you ALL and God Bless!!

TeHN
Thank you for this update.
Let's hope tomorrow will be difinitive.

Greetings great Nairalanders !
May God bless all those who have volunteered or contributed in one way or the other showing love for our dear brother and his family.
My deduction from all information so far on this thread is that DJ is suffering a multi-organ failure most likely originating from a decompensated CLD. ( I ignore if a malignant or metastatic liver disease has been ruled out as a primary cause..)
My humble suggestion going by priority is that we should get this guy as quickly as possible to a dialysis center for this to be started as urgently as possible while still making plans for any organ transplant.
Reason : If really the kidney has failed to the extent of requiring a transplant then the only logical thing to do as a matter or urgency is to start dialysis and this helps to buy time for other plans and this may also help with his ascitis.
Anything transplant definitely needs some time for preparations with all the bureucratic bottlenecks not forgetting the fact that fund is still being raised.
So Please let's move this guy to a dialysis centre latest today while we still go ahead with other plans.
