Read the comment you quoted again!

All he should have done was to withhold assent and give his reasons instead of assenting to it at same time complain.

Patriotism is about doing what is right irrespective of public opinion/sentiment
2018 budget was submitted in November 2017 and NASS sat on the budget waiting for the year to nearly end before approving it and you know very well it was deliberately done to frustrate PMB's government. The year has gone half and you still expect PMB to withold signing the budget and send it back to the thieves at NASS who will probably take another 6 months to do something. When then will the 2018 budget be implemented?? Simply put, he signed the budget in the interest of the masses because when 2 elephants fight, the grass suffers. I will refer you this brilliant post to enable you further understand truth of what the NASS has done: https://www.nairaland.com/4576212/unethical-conduct-national-assembly

in other words, Buhari agreed to assent to a bill that he knew was fashioned to serve interests other than that of the public simply because of public sentiment and for fear of being in the wrong side of public opinion? Then he has no business ranting
His "ranting" is very much in order. He's only trying to educate us on how the NASS is so bent on sabotaging his government but real lovers of progress and truth know that Buhari means good for this country but unfortunately he can't do it alone without the support of you and me and the NASS. NASS is full of corrupt elements with selfish interests but what is most problematic is the fact the citizens of this country will rather support and hail thieves than identify with real progressives

It is a pity even the youths that should teach these thieves a lesson are being brainwashed into believing that Buhari is the problem of this country. Only the looters and those with selfish hidden interests want Buhari and Magu out by all means so they will continue to suck us dry in this country. God forbid !

I used green vegetable, Onion, pepper, smoked fish, tomato and seasoning (salt, curry and knor).

Chop the onion, pepper and tomatoes.
Slice and wash the vegetable, add hot water to it (I think it's called blanching) remove immediately then rinse in cold water.

Heat groundnut/vegetable oil in a frying pan, then add the chopped onion and pepper, followed by the tomato.
Allow it to cook for awhile, when the tomatoes is well cooked to your desire, add all the seasoning and smoked fish..

Allow to cook for like 2mins then add your vegetable and cook for another 2mins.. Vegetable is ready.. Hope it's helpful
First time am knowing about "blanching" of vegetables...
Thanks a lot

Christianity EtcRe: Anglican Bishop Drags 3 Priests To Court by yerilistik: 4:55pm On Nov 10, 2017
VagileVictor:
The Anglican Church is very orderly and all issues relating to a Diocese is strictly at the mercy of the Bishop.

Those Priests are playing with fire for disobeying their superior officer which tantamount to breaching the oath of allegiance to the Bishop and by extension, the Primate and Metropolitan of the Anglican Church in Nigeria.

The truth in this matter is that the Primate cannot bye-pass the Bishop of the Diocese.
Exactly !
Christianity EtcRe: Anglican Bishop Drags 3 Priests To Court by yerilistik: 4:54pm On Nov 10, 2017
ojoadeola:
My understanding of the whole issue
1. Bishop requests the 3 Priests to pay their Annual remittances to the Diocese called "Assessment". This assessment is used to run the affairs of the Church and pay workers/staff/Priests of the Diocese.
2. The 3 Priests refused to allow their churches make payment of the Assessment as required by the law of Diocese, citing cases of non-payment of their salaries.
3. The behaviour of the Priests irked the Bishop (who has absolute authority over the church and the Diocese) and he transferred them from their churches - A power statutorily given to him under the law of the Diocese and the Church. (Please note: He has ABSOLUTE power under God to direct the affairs of the Diocese).
4. For the fact that the Priests refused to be transferred (an effrontery to him), he requests the withdrawal of their licence (this is also within his power as a bishop). The priests refused and appealed to the head of the Church in Abuja (Primate) to intervene.
5. The intervention of the Primate was slow in coming thus the need to approach a court of law to deter the priests from continuing to usurp his power in the Diocese.

Testimonies of the church
The members of the Church are supporting their priests on the fact that:
1. They see the Bishop as a Dictator or a De Facto leader
2. They accused him of Mal-administration, intimidation and harassment
3. They want to show solidarity for their Priests
4. They want the Bishop to be removed.

The 3 Priests' position
The priests refused to accede to the Bishop's request because:
1. They have not been paid their salaries
2. The submission of their licences to the Bishop is tantamount to sack, and they don't want to be sacked
3. They have appealed to the Primate, and awaits his intervention
4. The affected Churches are supporting them

We should not see this as a ploy by "gullible leaders" of the church to fight over money as the Anglican Church is orderly and takes accountability serious at all levels. They give account of church spending annually to members in the month of February every year, a rare case in most churches.

My position however is that the Bishop should organise a round-table discussion with the Priests and other senior Priests in the Diocese to resolve this matter and also engage the leadership of the affected churches. He should withdraw the case from court and allow the Spirit of God to direct the proceedings in the Diocese.

Hebrews 12:14 says "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:"
A very good unbiased appraisal of the situation, you got it all. The anglican church confers ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY of administration of a diocese on the BISHOP and even the Primate the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion does not have much influence on the bishop of a diocese. This is what obtains in the Anglican Communion.

If this is true it's a welcome development even though it's long overdue.
It has since become extremely embarrassing in Abia state especially Aba.
Many investors and serious business men have relocated to other safer states to the detriments of Abia state.
The earlier you get these evil men called kidnappers rooted out of the state the better for Abia, hoping to bring back those who have deserted the state due to unending insecurity.
PoliticsRe: Can This Happen In Nigeria? Lessons From The French Election. by yerilistik: 9:49am On Apr 24, 2017
Bekwarra:
When Francois Fillon defeated former president Nicolas Sarkozy for the Republican party ticket months ago, many thought the election was going to be a walkover for him as Benoit Hamon the Socialist candidate has refused to come out of the shadow of the outgoing president Francois Holland's who refused to seek reelection although entitled to it due to personal scandal and an eroded popularity. Thus the stage was set for an epic battle between Fillon widely seen as scandal-free and Hamon, Hollande's protégé.
However, the French people have a different opinion of issues, the anti-establishment sentiments sweeping through the West berthed in France and the people opted for outsiders. Fillon was not helped by the scandal which broke out that he paid his wife and two children over one million dollars for work they did not do as parliamentary assistants. This damaged Fillon's reputation cum campaign making him to jostle for 3rd spot with an outsider despite starting the race as the frontrunner.
Now the election has come and gone and there will b a runoff since no candidate was able to amass 50% of the votes. The two candidates to go head to head are Emmanuel Macron a 39-year old political novice who has never contested for an elected position and Marine le Pen, a far right nationalist who has always being on the fringes of French politics. In all these, the French people have spoken and their voices have been heard, they want to do away with the establishment. But what do we have here in Nigeria? Old men and women who have been at the helm of affairs for the better part of 3 decades are still dictating things. Imagine Macron a 39-year old banker who's also a novice becoming a frontrunner in an election in a super power country like France while in Nigeria, our youths are begging a 74-year old man to run again in 2019. Where's the hope? Where's the future? Look at what took Hollande out of the race, look at what damaged Fillon's chances, can all these happen in my country?
Delegations would have been sent to Hollande to beg him to contest with youths carrying placards to support him calling his scandals political gimmicks by his detractors. Fillon would have seen a one-million man march by the youths and people of his ethnic group to support him despite the scandal. They would have called it politics of bitterness to take their son out of the race. Macron would have been termed a joker who should go and face his banking business if they were all to be Nigerians. Add religion to the equation and your guess is as good as mine. Are we cursed here? Can this country become better? Where is the future we desire when our male youths idle their lives away following celebs online, wasting their time on booze and girls while their female counterparts have become slay mamas whose ambition in life is to garner Instagram likes. Things are becoming worse but what are the youths doing? They are checking out who rocked it better between Omotola and Yemi Alade, they are still debating the deserved winner of bbnaija between Efe and Tboss, they are slaying and peppering one another.
I GIVE UP.
God bless you real good. You ve said it all. Untill the youth of this country takes the bull by the horn and reject all these old recycled corrupt politicians in Nigeria, we continue to remain stagnant as a nation. Look at all the allegations against a sitting senate president and his common sense still did not convince him to resign but instead he is secretly working to frustrate the anti corruption war and the senseless youth is even shouting a political witch hunt. It's really a hopeless situation in Nigeria largely owing to lack of foresight and enlightenment . May God help us.

Thank you very much for this submission! Only the wise will read in between the lines and understand the real obstacles to fight against corruption in this country.
After the evil forces dealt a blow to Ribadu and suceeded in getting rid of him, Lamorde came on board and in a bid to avoid suffering the same fate of Ribadu, he became a puppet to the corrupt rich politicians and EFCC was nearly not heard of throughout his tenure. The same forces are fighting tooth and neck to discredit and disqualify the ever fearless Magu to facilitate the installation of another puppet whom they will use to kill the fight against corruption.

The legislooter have just found a black hole on his white shirt. they should change him. he has their attribute -corruption
Many of the legislators have EFCC cases hanging on thier neck and you don't expect them to confirm a serious anti corruption c-zar like Magu, impossible. Of course any body can be appointed to head the EFCC like we had in the era of Lamorde and waziri during which EFCC was nearly dead because they wanted to remain in the good books of the legislators and still claimed to be fighting corruption. If that is what you want then forget about fighting corruption and rather declare corruption legal afterall one of our "heros" once said stealing is not corruption !
PoliticsRe: We Can Re-present Magu For Confirmation - Osinbajo by yerilistik: 8:50am On Apr 12, 2017
This is good !
Magu must continue whether they like it or not.
We know that corruption is really fighting back but with perseverance and resilience this fight against corruption must be won because every other progress in this country depends on it.
With the fantastically corrupt judiciary and the legistlative arms it's not going to be easy but with God on our side, this country will survive all the wicked forces uniting to derail the fight against corruption.
