Streetinvestor2:
I feel the minority buy may not happen. The government may insist on minority hold in the business to support local ownership or content in the business. China is not the kind of country you should allow to own such company 100% in nigeria. They could become threat to indigenous cement companies.
I share your opinion.
Is it now that the biz is looking promising that they want to take it away?
What about revenue generation for FG too? It will impact on the economy nah.
The 81% ownership needs to be reviewed self.

Sunrisepebble:
The 27.7%
Not saying it wasn't reported but they still needs to be more transparent and stop running such big deal as if it doesn't concern minority shareholders and the nation as well.
Let them operate openly and not in the dark behind curtains.

By now, they ought to have come up with detailed info about the buy over not some lump sum which they're using tactics to delay due to exchange fluctuations, then they can price so cheaply.
* Any amount below N100 na grave robber price for WAPCO.

Mpeace:
With these actions of theirs, it is not wise to remain with them as minority shareholders. Them go bend minority neck like tomorrow no dey.
They should conclude the deal as soon as possible.
I know say some senators get shares for wapco
It may eventually be in favour of minority if they become transparent with the deals.
See PZ, they're carrying minority shareholders along and still allow them a say in each steps

KarlTom:
WAPCO almost on FB... angry
Or Full offer
Chai!!
As hurtful as it may sound, I think there should be transparency in the dealings as well.....
Those guys have been hoarding info and hiding some details concerning the buy over...
Just yesterday or so, about 27.7% was done in Off Market Deals....
Why haven't anyone know about the purchase price per share till now??
... and they were looking at sealing the deal by May yet shareholders are still in the dark...

* Still not an advice for anyone to panic sell if already sitting in the bus and you picked high.
It may be a way to force them to follow rules and may eventually benefit minorities.

Ask the Solar guys how cheap solar is to electricity.....
A car powered by batteries will be damned expensive as well, especially in terms of maintenance.

Many investors are afraid and scaring people about bank stocks because of the supposed dilution.....
Creating unnecessary panics here and there....
I've just been wondering:
Are/Were the banks OS not huge before now?
Are they not still paying dividends?
Haven't they been improving on the dividend payout over years?

* One thing I want to believe is that: Once the banks gets to the bridge, even with new OS, they'll always find a way to cross it.
Emjoy the dividends declared for now and stop cracking your brains about banks and their wahala, no be you dey help them solve it before now. 😊

Until after recapitalization deadline, the banks will try to do all that's possible to stay up.........
*Just my personal opinion

** If you want to exit, NGX floor is always there for you btw.

Insurance dominated top 5 on gainers table today......
Impressive!!
The sector is showing strength
Where are the Ogas that said they're all going back to base? 🙄
Once the recapitalization kicks off, we may witness lots of activities here......just my opinion.

Oga @Agbalowomeri pls help check the chart for this sector

Does below quote still stand?
Agbalowomeri:
Insurance Index is really firing ATH this month

** Caveat: Do not take as any form of advice.......

* UCAP declared dividend + bonus of 2:1 (2 new for every 1 held) and had since been added to individual's CSCS account.
This was what reflected in the share price.
** Contact your broker to add it to your trading portfolio.

* AFRIPRUD recently declared dividend of 0.60k + bonus of 1:1 (1 new for every 1 held)
Qualification date was last week Friday and was marked down this week.
That was why the share price came to current price.
** Bonus and dividend yet to be paid.

Last week, close to N2bn in cross deals....
Today, another 600M units crossed....

** Just observation.......and I think I mentioned this STI sometimes ago too.....

* Anyone with info on the buyer should pls share.....NGX ought to declare this at least.

UBA declared juicy dividend and it's doing merry go round in a spot......
SCOA did not declare anything but refused to shed weight, rather, it appreciated in price up to current share price.....😊
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56: 11:04am On Mar 26, 2025

UBA giving ACCESS holders sleepless nights....
Seems they're confused and don't know what ACCESS will be coming up with......😊
Lots of activities @22, maybe it's accumulations thru cross deals we dont know yet......
ACCESS is not expected to fall hands anyway

I think N1.8 was paid the last time.....
They should be able to do N2 now at least ..... otherwise...

* ARADEL officially down with -N17......now @505.....

* ETRANZACT now back up to N5.25......its one itchy fingers that dropped it to 4.80 last week, lol.

Please, why should I add that one?
Food wey don enter belle, dem no dey count that one again naa.
* Because 2024 FYE was in view and the interim was also paid for same financial year
* Because you need to be fair to the bank
* Because you also need to appreciate the bank for the efforts made and the job well done for 2024 FYE
* Because you needs to be impartial as there may be a reason to compare and contrast when others in the sector releases their results as well.
😊

Will it hold?
We wait and see

SEPLAT: Except MM makes the move, I don't think an individual investor can take the risk of falling it with above half a billion, N513M on 100k bulk......
Those trying to exit should better go and siddon dey collect their quarterly dividends jejely. 😊

ACCESSCORP o. last of join bull, first to join bear
Market really dealing with ACCESS
Guess it's because of their low dividend culture and the many buys, which may or may not have much negative impact on the dividend eventually......
@ current 22 and below should present good entry if the Ogas dumping are appeased 😊.......and, all things being equal.

Why is Mr. Market vexing around this time btw?
Abi Oga Agba don snatch it's babe?
Though it's looking more like the usual occurrence around this time, it will still calm down.

If the damage has been fixed then it definitely not a big one.
Might have been over-exaggerated by social media and Tinubu haters so as to make it look like the nation is collapsing.....

Btw, I'll take you all serious if any of those arguing can take SEPLAT down with -10% tongue

Saw this somewhere (yet to verify) but if true then thank God. My Aradel can breathe 😆
The funniest thing is that online people, who are comfortably sitting in their living room always makes every situation looks as if the country or even the market is collapsing when something happens.
They always rely on what media is saying, coupled with their imagination and political bias to start typing rubb.ish.....thereby causing unnecessary panic for investors.
No thanks to social media.

Is Tinubu the only sitting president to declare state of emergency?
Is it outside the rule of law or not applicable to democratic president?

Once again, can we return this thread to stock related discussions while you take your political discussions to politics section.

People should learn to link their bank accounts to cscs so they get money from shares sold paid directly into their bank accounts
Obvious you're not a trader but a long term investor who used to sell once in a blue moon.

No short or medium term trader will go for this your option.

** Not the best option.

Simply contact your stock broker to delete it from your trading portfolio.
Do this for any other one that has been delisted and already paid you the exit/buyout price.
