A fake twitter account by a certain Ima Sadiq, tweeting @imamsadiq123 has surfaced to discredit the Presidential candidacy of General Muhammadu Buhari of the opposition All Progressive Congress. The account which was started on Friday and has some 51 followers is posing as a Buhari supporting Islamic cleric, suggesting that Buhari’s singular mission in Aso Rock is to entrench the Shariah law. Already vigilant social media users have rubbished the twitter account as an attempt to discredit Buhari’s candidacy by echoing the propaganda that have been used over the years to portray Buhari as a religious fanatic. Tolu Ogunlesi, journalist and social commentator, who has been blowing the whistle on the account told Sunday Trust that “it is obviously a fake account. Clearly is someone who is being mischievous, someone who wants to pose as a Buhari supporter to exploit religious tensions.” The profile picture of the twitter handle was initially that of the US first openly gay imam, Daayiee Abdullah, and when this was pointed out, the operator of the handle changed it to that of Washington DC Masjid imam, Abdul Alim Musa. The twitter handle has attracted pro- Jonathan supporters, including the PDP Youth Frontier (@PDPYF) which have engaged the purported imam to further explain his tweets. This was one of the exchanges on the twitter account: PDP Youth Frontier @PDPYF: @imamsadiq123 You mean you don’t believe that Nigeria is a secular state? Are you supporting Buhari bks he Believes in Shaaria law? Writer and publisher, Eghosa Imasuen says the kind of social media users that have engaged the handle are “the same robots that are paid N100,000 monthly.” “It would be tragic if it wasn’t so transparent,” he said. Popular blogger and tweeter, Japhet Omojuwa also speaking to Sunday Trust said there is an antecedence of something like this. “The Modus Operandi looks like something we have seen before with the Wendell Simlin scandal. The idea is to make it look like a Buhari supporter and enforce all the things that have been said about him in the past. “I have asked for it [the account] to be reported to Twitter. It is a good thing that it is being ratted out so that the impact can be checked,” he said. Earlier in the year, Presidential aide, Reno Omokri, sent out documents in the name of a certain Wendell Simlin trying to associate former Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi of being behind Boko Haram. Screenshot of fake twitter handle created to discredit APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari The president’s senior adviser on social media however forgot to remove his digital signature on the documents and was widely condemned for his action and attempt at spreading false information on a perceived opponent of the Jonathan government.

wirinet:I was at JUMIA office (data center) quite recently at lekki and there was no sign post what so ever. I guess JUMIA is conducting an illegal business. And if you are quite conversant with that area you would notice ETISALAT have there gateway right in front of there, again with no sign post. Most data centers are meant to funtion 24/7 to manage a database. So what is the fuss all about? |

As Nigerians going into the 2015 elections, are we asking the right QUESTIONS? Are we demanding appropriate accountability from past and current leaders commensurate with the quantum of resources at their disposal? I dug out some numbers recently to do a more representative (apple-to-apple) analysis of the performance of past and present Nigerian administrations. My data sources are (1) The Nigerian Central Bank, (2) the US EAI, (3) OPEC and (4) Other online data sources. Take a close at the charts I generated from the data and let's start demanding real answers! To arrive at these numbers, I took average monthly production - very fine data resolution, and calculated how much dollars volumes we sold each year. For adjustment for inflation, I used 2.5% annual $ inflation rate. To put inflation adjustment in perspective, $1.00 in 1999 is equivalent to $1.44 in 2014. In just 5 years, Jonathan's administration has generated as much crude oil sales as all 16 years of Yaradua, Obasanjo, Abdusalami and Abacha's administrations combined in unadjusted numbers. This comes to $470B vs $489B in unadjusted numbers. When adjusted for inflation, the numbers are $488.8B vs. $594B for Jonathan vs. Yaradua+Obj +Abdusalami+Abacha combined. The numbers are what they are because oil price has risen almost 7-8 folds during this period, nearly an order of magnitude increase. In addition to price increase, Nigeria's crude oil output has also increased. I am hoping we can start asking tough questions, we'd continue to be hoodwinked. My question again is simple: even with 2.5% annual inflation adjustment, the numbers are $488.8b vs $594b. Does the investment in Nigeria in the past 5 years add up to ~$500B.

Contrary to the denials of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), details have surfaced confirming he was involved in the movement of $9.3 million cash to South Africa, purportedly for the purchase of arms. A security source revealed to SaharaReporters that along with the pastor, President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, coordinated the movement of the cash, and that its original destination was Cyprus, not South Africa. Ayo Oritsejafor It would be recalled that the story and documents emanating from the Nigeria government are to the effect that the officials were going to use the money to buy arms from Tier One in South Africa. It turned out Tier One is not registered in that country to sell arms, and that it was going to buy them, somehow, from the ESD International Group Ltd in Cyprus. Trying to wash his hands of the sordid story, Pastor Oritsejafor had said he leased the jet to Eagle Air, in which he has an interest. Eagle, in turn, said it leased it to Gold Coast Produce Limited. The source told our reporter that the web of so-called leases woven around the transaction was concocted in August to enable Pastor Oritsejafor deny knowledge of the deal. Repeated efforts by SaharaReporters to obtain from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) a copy of the so-called lease entered into by the pastor failed to yield any fruit, as officials there claim the Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, was away. Similarly, the Corporate Affairs Commission, where Pastor Oritsejafor registered the plane under “Eagle Air” Limited, claims that their server has been taken over by one of their server/service providers, and that they are therefore unable to access information concerning ownership of Eagle Air. As previously revealed by SaharaReporters, Pastor Oritsejafor’s Bombardier jet was seized in South Africa’s Lanserai airport on September 5 after law enforcement officials found that the jet had illegally ferried $9.3million cash into the country accompanied by an Isreali, Eyal Miseka and two Nigerians. The Nigerians are yet to be identified. As soon as the seizure took place, President Jonathan intervened with the South African authorities in order to get the aircraft released as a way of preventing the public from knowing that Pastor Oritsejafor’s jet was involved in the deal. |
$9.3m Cash Transfer: Security Source Confirms Pastor Oritsejafor Was Involved In Botched Arms Deal A security source revealed to SaharaReporters that along with the pastor, President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, coordinated the movement of the cash, and that its original destination was Cyprus, not South Africa. |

But, the Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the APC in the state, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, said: “I have not seen the judgment. It is difficult for me to comment on it. Be that as it may, Akeju has not conducted any election since 2011. “The most important election we have had after the National Assembly election is the governorship election and Akeju did not conduct it. There is nothing special about Akeju conducting any election or not. The busybodies should just hold their peace.” www.tribune.com.ng/news /top-stories/item/18287-2011- elections-osun-pdp-floors-inec-at- appeal-court |
