You are joking, he got it in less than 5 years of living in Brazil, and yes, himself and several others l know got it in less than 5 years, say what you know, everyone has his own luck, others might take 10 years or more but he got his in less than 5years

Before I go on, let´s have a civil dialogue please.

Even if your friends got theirs in 5 years, do you consider that a short time?Ask your buddies when they got theirs,I believe it must have been a while back when things ain´t so complicated as they are today. It´s all different now due to issues we´re all aware of :- terrorism , bad acts from Nigerians etc. Besides, I said it could take up to 10 years.Never said it would take 10 years. You are asking me to say what I know ;- I reaffirm, I know what I´m saying

Just for your information:- I have lived here for almost 3 decades now. Married to Brazilian with kids....

Please throw more light on what you meant by the process can take up to 10years. I learnt if your wife gives birth there, your child becomes a citizen and the parents can get residence permit in about a month and Brazilian passport within 2years. Please verify this as I am considering it. Plus are you in Brazil? Thanks

Yes, up to 10 years. That´s just the way the Brazilian system is. Excessive red tape! A person born in Brazil acquires Brazilian citizenship at birth, notwithstanding the immigration status of the parents, but that doesn´t grant the parents automatic residence permit nor receiving the Brazilian passport within 2 years. You´ll have to go through the naturalization channel to get the Brazilian citizenship. Foreigners may apply for the citizenship if they meet some criteria though : I think 4 or 5 years of uninterrupted residence in the country; permanent residence ....

You are Spot on, my cousin from my mother's side is in Brazil, he was in the US before and couldn't get his papers and he came back to Nigeria and prepared himself again, he is already a citizen of Brazil as l post, Brazil is a good country to acquire citizenship within a short time and Brazilian passport enters over 140 or more countries cool

You can´t acquire Brazilian citizenship within a short time. The process can take up to 10 years.

Well , what I know is, all visa applications to the Brazilian Embassy in Lagos or Abuja must be forwarded to the authorities here in Brazil so I don´t believe you would be able to your meet your deadline. I know there´s corruption=contact in every sphere so I wouldn´t know how feasible that could be at the Brazilian embassy in Lagos. An acquaintance came here last year but had to wait for weeks before she could get her visa. Anyways , BOA SORTE = Good luck !

Another typical case scenario, of people not doing their homework before making plans to travel.  undecided

From what you've posted, your "cousin" has already purchased his ticket, so why ask questions about the country now? If people on here replied that there are head hunters there, and Nigerian flesh is a highly sought-after delicacy, would your "cousin" cancel his trip?  undecided

Gay vicar, 65, to 'marry' Nigerian male model half his ageBy Luke Salkeld

To former vicar Colin Coward, it is nothing short of a marriage made in heaven. But the 65-year-old is expected to raise a few traditional eyebrows when he walks down the aisle with the man in his life – a 25-year-old Nigerian model called Bobby.

Mr Coward and his African partner are due to hold a civil partnership later this year, followed by a service at the vicar’s church, St John the Baptist church in Devizes, Wiltshire.

The couple met at a Christian conference three years ago, and are planning to make their relationship official in a few weeks’ time.

Bobby Ikekhuame Egbele, a fashion designer and model, grew up in Nigeria and runs an online clothes shop. Currently in the UK on a holiday visa, he and his ‘husband-to-be’ are waiting for the green light from the Borders Agency, which has requested details of their relationship and residency.

This is expected to be a formality but the ‘marriage’ cannot go ahead until permission is granted. Mr Egbele, who will then become a British citizen, said yesterday: ‘I’m excited about the wedding and that people are interested in it.

So that takes me to the Nigerian Embassy in Brasilia,Brazil . Comfortable waiting area for visitors , functional telephone service , polite staff etc. I had to renew my passport a while back. I called them , the lady gave me the procedures ;- send in your old passport with a crossed cheque with the right amount( about 35 dollars) , call back later just to check if they´ve received it. Instructions followed , I got my passport back after some days !!!
Travel / Re: How Do I Get A Certified Copy Of Hotel Reservation For U.s.a Tourist Visa? by yomitesp(m): 3:21pm On Aug 06, 2010
Fogman:

Poster, it is very simple, just search for hotels in or closest to the city of your intended visit, also take into consideration the daily rate then use a genuine credit card to do your reservation. After the reservation the hotel will email you your confirmed reservation with a reservation no. When you are making a booking, pls very important you read the hotel policy, some charge your credit card immedialy, why others dont, but uses your card as a form of security. Note that if you decide to cancel your reservation, it must be some certain days before your arrival, check the hotel policy. If this is done, your card ll not be charged.

Travel / Re: Nigerian Embassy In Italy Is A Shame. by yomitesp(m): 2:51pm On Aug 05, 2010
Redman44:

Is it part of our culture that we should not be doing things properly shocked shocked? It is a shame that many Nigerians get the opportunity to live and work in developed countries but fail to change their lethargic ways of doing things. Even in Nigeria, the Europeans and Americans do things properly. Can we compare the running of the British Council and Goethe Institute Libraries with the way the National Library of Nigeria is run? We keep hearing complaints about the disorder that reigns supreme at our Embassies and High Commissions in Europe and yet the FG does nothing about it. It is all about the thinking of the Embassy Staff. It also has to do with the resourcefulness of the High Commissioner at the Embassy in Italy. I bet the Man in Charge there is not very good and that is why the place is not being run properly. You need to see how the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan, Oyo State, is run. The place is like a developed country in a disorganized Oyo State. When will we start to do things properly in general terms?

Seconded. Suprisingly the Nigerian Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil is somewhat different. Clean environment, comfortable waiting lounge , polite staff , efficient telephone services . I´ve used their services a couple of times and I must confess ;"it´s definitely something to write home about "!!!
