Why is it so difficult for Dangote to publicly announce the price he intend to sell to marketers? He has been very vocal about a lot of things this year but now that it’s time to sell, he is keeping quiet about the price.

1. Awori: They are the largest indigenous group that dominates larger parts of Lagos with the exception of Ikorodu, Epe and Ibeju Lekki

2. Ijebu: Epe, Ikorodu and Ibeju Lekki indigenes are ijebus.

3. Egun: They are mostly found in Badagry.

4. Bini: Lagos island royal family is of bini origin. Many others have lost their bini ancestry.

5. Egba: They are located in Abule Egba and Agege parts of Lagos. Also some Egba people followed missionaries from Abeokuta to Lagos and settled in Ebute Meta.

6. Ilaje: Ilaje people are found in Bariga and some parts of the island

7. Oyo: Most of the slaves returnees that were settled in Lagos as a result of abolishment of slave trade were captured in Oyo. Most of them settled in Lagos island. Also, The only place Ikoyi originated from in Yoruba land is Oyo. Ikoyi Victoria Island probably share identity with Ikoyi in Oyo.

8. Nupe: The man named Oshodi was a maid to a Lagos monarch after he managed to escape slavery. He later became wealthy and was gifted a land known as Oshodi today. His progenitors are Lagos indigenes. They are found in Oshodi and Epe Tedo parts of Lagos. Their nupe origin have long been eroded.

I always wonder over what I see on Nairaland many times. What is real 'Lagos Yoruba indigenes' actually? You people online always try to so much to divide Yorubas from your own sentimental point of view.

Are there fake Yorubas? How are yorubas different from one another o? What is the difference in your experience with Yorubas from the other 5 SW states compared to Lagos that is not among people of other same tribes of multiple states? It's only on Nairaland I further see Yoruba Muslims as if Yorubas divide themselves on religious ground. Many on Nairaland believe it's only Yorubas who are Muslims that voted for Tinubu but he won Ekiti and Ondo who hardly have indigenous Muslims meaning religious difference is not even a basis for a defined division among Yorubas.

I don't know the OP's aim for this thread but I see someone who suddenly has a deep hatred for Yorubas notwithstanding the fact that he has witnessed a lot of positive things among them in over his 30 years of living among them. Him now trying to divide Yorubas over Lagos or other places really beat my imagination. All I see through this OP's is guilt and confusion but don't worry. What drives the economy of a state or country? Is it large corporations or MSMEs?

Lagos is a city with a population of nearly 22million people. What percentage of this population does Dangote employ?

How much does Dangote pay in taxes to Lagos Government, and how much does Lagos Govt generate from markets like Alaba, ASPAMDA, Computer Village, etc?

If Dangote controls 21% of Lagos economy, what percentage of California’s economy does Apple and Google control since the two companies are both headquartered in California and they are both more valuable than Dangote by far?

What percentage of Texas’ economy does Tesla control since Tesla is headquartered in Texas and is equally more valuable than Dangote by far?

So, you see, a lot of foolishness sound like wisdom/knowledge to an unthinking mind but don’t let it deceive you.

What Reno Omokri said is absolute foolishness, falsehood and outright distortion of facts.

Lagos is not Lagos because of Dangote company or because of the large corporations headquartered therein.

If there’s any group that forms the engine room of Lagos economy, it’s the Medium, Micro and Small Scale Businesses. This category employs the highest number of Lagosians, and this category generates the most money for Lagos.

Large corporations do not build economies.

Infrastructure, as much as it adds to ease of doing business, does not build economy like some people claimed under Buhari.

So, next time, before you celebrate any trash from Reno Omokri, subject it through logical and rational dissection to know if the statement is truly reasonable.
