Politics / EFCC Hands Over Amosu’s $2.15m Hospital To Air Force by yougos(m): 12:21am On Mar 20, 2017 |
Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja A hospital with medical equipment worth about $2.15m which was seized from a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (retd.), has been handed over to the Nigerian Air Force, The PUNCH has learnt. The hospital, St. Solomon Hospital, which is located on Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, is said to have state-of-the-art equipment including a Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine which costs well over $1m. A reliable source at the EFCC told our correspondent that the EFCC could not manage the property and therefore decided to hand it over to the Nigerian Air Force medical unit. He said, “The hospital has very expensive equipment including an MRI machine which is very rare. However, we could not manage the hospital so we handed it over to the air force pending the outcome of Amosu’s trial. It is assumed that the money used in buying the hospital was stolen from the air force.” Other properties seized from Amosu included a house on Adeyemo Alakija Street, GRA Ikeja worth N250m; a duplex at House 11, Peace Court Estate, GRA Ikeja worth N110m; a N40m property located at NAF Harmony Estate, Asokoro base; a five-bedroomed house at Valley NAF Estate, Port Harcourt, worth N33m and a N95m house on Umaru Dikko Street, Jabi. The Federal Government has also commenced moves to seize Amosu’s house at 50 Tenterden Grove, NW41TH, London worth about £2m. Amosu as well as a former Chief of Accounts and Budgeting in NAF, Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun (retd.); and a former Director of Finance and Budget, Air Commodore Olugbenga Gbadebo (retd.), are currently standing trial before a Federal High Court for allegedly stealing N22.8bn from the coffers of the Nigerian Air Force between 2014 and 2015. The commission has seized 33 properties they allegedly bought with stolen funds. Documents made available to our correspondent showed that besides the hospital, the EFCC had seized plazas, schools, mansions, farms and a quarry from Amosun, Adigun and Gbadebo. While almost N2.835bn cash has been recovered from Amosu alone, Gbadebo has returned N190m. Adigun’s wife, returned some money as well. The document further stated that properties recovered from Adigun were worth N9.6bn. Calculations by our correspondent showed that the cash and assets which the air force men might forfeit permanently, add up to about N15bn which is more than three quarters of what they allegedly stole. They have, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. http://punchng.com/efcc-hands-over-amosus-2-15m-hospital-to-air-force/ 6 Likes

Politics / Death Of Sultan Dasuki While His Son Is Still In Prison by yougos(m): 2:10pm On Nov 15, 2016 |
Death of Sultan Dasuki while his son is still in prison remind one of how Buhari's mum too died while he was in detention under IBB but was actually arrested by Sambo Dasuki. Hmmmm. That is not the only repeated history I remember on a day like this. I also remember how IBB was trying to force Ibrahim Dasuki on Sokoto people as Sultan. The people wanted someone else but Dasuki wanted the post. Someone advised him to accept the wish of Almighty Allah and forget the post, he refused and eventually got it. Thanks to IBB. However, when people of Nigeria massively voted for Dasuki's Deputy in the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Chief MKO Abiola as President of Nigeria... IBB opposed the will of the people as usual, Dasuki supported IBB decision and IBB annulled the election results but MKO decided to fight for his mandate....Sultan Dasuki advised MKO to accept the will of Almighty Allah as a good Muslim!!! The same Will Dasuki refused to accept as a Muslim too!!!! Both eventually lost the positions! Today, both have fully accepted the will of Almighty God through death! Life is ephemeral. Let us all fear God and uphold justice at all time so that bad history will not repeat itself in our lives. I urge Muhammadu Buhari to please, in the name of Almighty God, allow Sambo to witness his father's burial today. Let us stop this history here. |

Igbo people ask for Biafra, Nigeria refused and said the country must be one. Danish man draws cartoon of Mohammed in faraway Denmark, you people go around killing Igbos and destroying their properties in the North. Philips Emegwali invents a super-fast computer, you say a "Nigerian" invents. Igbo student in diaspora makes good grades, you say a "Nigerian" graduates top of the class. But Ikechukwu Abia is caught trafficking drugs, you say an "Igbo" man is caught with drugs abroad. Igbo man do his business and prosper, you people say they want to steal your land and rule over you. 90% of oil blocs in the South are owned by Northerners, you people do not say they have stolen someone's land and resources. Igbos ask for the Presidency, you people laugh at them and say "over your dead body." The North has rule Nigeria for over 38years and they keep threatening everyone else that they are being marginalized, and so they start bombing everywhere, you people say let's negotiate with them. Igbos vote for Jonathan, you people say they are myopic and tribalistic. The North and the West voted for Buhari, you people say it is called "change" and democracy. Igbos rally behind Jimi Abaje, you people say they will drown in the lagoon. Ambode won, you people start cursing them. Adamu Ciroma and co said "The North would make this country ungovernable if a Northerner does not become President" and "They'll be no Nigeria if power does not return to the North". You people call them "Elder Statesmen","Party Stalwart", "Northern leader", etc. Nnamdi Kanu says the same thing but you people call him "a retard", "treasonable criminal", "war-monger", "evil" and so on. During the last elections, Radio and TV stations in the North play jihad songs while making anti-GEJ campaigns, say all sorts of things in Hausa, no newspaper headline asked for them to be banned. Of course you people call it politics. Radioactivity Biafra does same, all hell is let loose. You people say they spreading bigotry and dangerous propaganda. Do you people have an IGBOPHOBIA? Of course not! No one will agree. But do you think the Igbos are problems, everyone will raise their hands. But we ask, why don't you let the Igbos separate and go their way, you people give me that terrorist look. Dear landlords, just one question: What do you want the Igbos to do to please you? 12 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / FG Writes India Over Nigerian ISIS Suspects by yougos(m): 4:17am On Aug 20, 2015 |
AUGUST 20, 2015 : ADELANI ADEPEGBA AND
FIDELIS SORIWEI The Nigerian embassy in Delhi, India, has written to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to see the two Nigerians that were arrested in Punjab recently while on their way to Pakistan, allegedly to join the Islamic State terrorist group. The two youths from Kano, identified as Imran Kabeer and Sani Jamiliu, are currently being detained by the Punjab Police in India. The India police had arrested the two youths on suspicions that they were on their way to join ISIS and that they attempted to enter Pakistan without valid travel documents. The suspects, who live in New Delhi, came to India on student visas about a year ago. While Imran is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Karnataka State Open University, Sani is a Bachelor of Science student of the Kerala-based Mahatma Gandhi University The spokesman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ogbole Ahmedu-Ode, confirmed that the Nigerian embassy officials had applied to see the suspects to “ascertain their claim of Nigerian nationality.” “Our embassy in India has applied for consular access to see the boys so that we can ascertain their claim of Nigerian nationality,” he said. In a related development, there are suspicions that the Lebanese ISIS terrorist, Ahmed Al Assir, could have forged the Nigerian visa in order to visit the country. A diplomatic report shown to our correspondent on Wednesday, indicated that Assir did not apply to the Nigerian embassy in Lebanon for visa and that he must have forged the document. It said there was no record anywhere that indicated that the terrorist applied for the Nigerian visa. President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday reportedly ordered an investigation into how the Lebanese got the Nigerian visa found in his passport. The terrorist, who had been on the wanted list of Lebanese security forces, was arrested at the airport last Saturday while attempting to visit Cairo, Egypt, en route to Nigeria on a forged Palestinian passport. The diplomatic report explained that Assir, who was of Palestinian extraction, had undergone surgery to alter his appearance so as to evade detection by security operatives. He was accused of involvement in the death of 17 Lebanese soldiers and had been sentenced to death by the court in 2013. The document further stated that the wanted terrorist had been using different aliases to evade arrest and that his current pseudonym was not on the watch list of the Lebanese security forces. “Assir has been using the fake name, Rami Abdul Rahman Taleb, to evade detection by security agencies in Lebanon. He did not apply to the Nigerian embassy for visa, meaning that he must have forged the visa he had on his fake passport when he was arrested with his companion, Khaled Sidani, at the airport,” it stated. Ahmedu-Ode said, “investigation is ongoing” to determine how the terrorist came about the Nigerian visa. Meanwhile, the Defence Headquarters on Wednesday denied media reports that over 150 people from Kukuwa-Gari village were shot dead by Boko Haram gunmen in Yobe State. The DHQ said troops indeed killed four Boko Haram members in a gunfight after the insurgents ran into a military ambush. A statement by the acting Director, Defence Information, Col. Rabe Abubakar, in Abuja pleaded with the media to always seek clarifications on their information before publishing. Abubakar’s statement read, “The truth of the matter is that the military got an intelligence report concerning a planned attack by Boko Haram on Kukuwa-Gari Village in Yobe State. Following the tip-off, troops and civilian JTF laid ambush between Kukuwatashi and Kukuwa-Gari villages. “The insurgents ran into them and a gun battle ensued in which four Boko Haram members and one civilian JTF lost their lives. At the end of the encounter, two AK 47 rifles and two motorcycles used by the Boko Haram terrorists were recovered from them. “The military is doing all within its power to protect lives and property of Nigerians in any part of the country and thus, solicits cooperation and understanding of the media to be partners in progress in this noble task.” Source: www.punchng.com/news/fg-writes-india-over-nigerian-isis-suspects/

Politics / Probe Fashola, Tinubu Now, Bode George Tells Buhari by yougos(m): 4:02am On Aug 20, 2015 |
AUGUST 20, 2015 : ENIOLA AKINKUOTU A former National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to take his anti-corruption war to the next level by probing the last two governors of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN). George said in a statement that it would be wrong of Buhari to claim to be spearheading an anti- graft campaign and at the same time be considering Fashola for appointment in the light of the N78.3m of taxpayers’ money Fashola spent on a personal website, www.tundefashola.com. He said Fashola’s excuse for spending N78.3m on a website was disgusting and should be rejected. He said, “We are living in a very interesting time. There is an air of repugnancy everywhere most especifically in my state where the immoral stench and the dark odium of Mr. Babatunde Fashola’s administration is daily being unearthed. “What is most disgusting and annoying in all these is the arrogant and the befuddled attempt of Mr. Fashola to justify the apparent reckless misappropriation of Lagos state taxpayers’ money to set up a personal web site. “Fashola shows no remorse, no semblance of regret, no guilty nudging of conscience. Instead, he still attempts to ride a high horse, puffing and stomping in feigned seraphic innocence. We are not fooled.” George said many of the projects undertaken by the Fashola were done at exorbitant prices. The PDP chieftain wondered how the 1.6km Lekki- Ikoyi Link Bridge could cost N29bn. He added, “We knew all along that the emperor had no clothes. Using N78m of taxpayers’ money to build a website is reckless misappropriation. The phony over N29bn used to build a mere kilometre long link bridge is outrageous venality. “The spurious N1.5bn allegedly spent on phantom pedestrian bridges is another con game. And there are so many of these screaming illegalities observable in the record of our poster boy of yesterday!” George said in a sane clime, Fashola would be facing comprehensive investigations rather than being considered for any appointment in the light of the over N419bn debt incurred by the Fashola government. He said the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government would do well to start implementing its promise of change from within. George said, “In a more just society, Mr. Fashola should be facing a comprehensive investigation rather than being considered for any appointment at all. President Buhari should use the Fashola case as an acid test of sparing no one with any intimation of public malfeasance. “Rather than engaging in a smug chest beating of innocence, Mr. Fashola should first remove himself from any consideration of public appointment and openly call for a judicial probe of his eight years in office. “Nothing else will bring out the true picture. Lagos State is now the biggest debtor in the federation with over a trillion naira in bad debts. It may take at least 40 years before Fashola’s indebtedness can be defrayed! What a malady!” George said there was no way Fashola would be probed without probing Tinubu because one was the creation of the other. He said, “In the end there is no way to divorce Fashola from Bola Tinubu. They are both linked in unutterable complicity. If Fashola stands today in tarnished allegations, Tinubu, his godfather, cannot possibly distance himself in innocent escapism. “If Fashola now rots in the mud, we must look through the depths to understand the instigating and factor. Whenever Fashola is cooling his feet at the interrogation centre, Tinubu should not be far behind.” All attempts to get Tinubu’s reactions proved abortive as calls put through to his media aide, Mr. Sunday Dare, were not responded to. Crime / Police Arrest Aregbesola’s Ex-aide For 29-year- Old Lover’s Death by yougos(m): 6:26am On Aug 19, 2015 |
AUGUST 19, 2015 : FEMI MAKINDE AND OLALEYE ALUKO The police in Osun State have arrested a former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Mr. Bode Olugbore, after a 29-year-old woman, Kemi Arobieke, was allegedly found dead in his apartment. PUNCH Metro learnt that Kemi, who the family claimed was Olugbore’s lover, was found dead in the ex-SSA’s apartment on Saturday, August 8. Our correspondents gathered that Kemi, an event planner, came from Lagos to visit Olugbore in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday, August 6, and promised to return on Saturday. It was learnt that Kemi’s family, however, got a call on Sunday that the lady had been electrocuted in the ex-SSA’s apartment, and her corpse had been deposited in a mortuary. It was gathered that the matter was reported at the Dada Police Division, and policemen from the station removed the corpse from the apartment. It was learnt that the ex-SSA was arrested thereafter. The deceased’s elder brother, Ayoola, who confirmed the death of his sister to our correspondents on the telephone on Tuesday said Kemi had known Olugbore for about four years, but the family initially did not know about their relationship. He said he, Kemi and Olugbore were members of the same church in Lagos, adding that her sister told the family that the suspect had separated from his wife, who had three children for him. He said, “My sister travelled to Osogbo and she was supposed to return to Lagos on Saturday, but we got a call from the police that she was involved in an accident and it was very serious. “When we got to Osogbo, the police prevented us from seeing her, but told us that she had been electrocuted by an electric fan, but it is unbelievable.” Ayoola, said the explanation sounded illogical as there were no traces of burn either on her body or on the fan. He said, “However, we are waiting for the outcome of the autopsy which was done on Saturday. We have known Bode (Olugbore) for a while. He works with the Osun State Government. Kemi was also gainfully employed, having finished from the university. “We were made to understand that she was electrocuted in the apartment by a standing fan. That is very hard for me to understand. The police showed us the fan, and it seemed to be working fine. It was not burnt. The socket was not burnt. So, it is suspicious that she was electrocuted. The current in a fan is not enough to kill except one has direct contact with a live wire. The marks on her body suggested something contrary. “Right now, everyone is waiting for answers from the autopsy. We know that the man has been arrested by the police.” Our correspondents gathered that Olugbore’s lawyer’s said the ex-SSA was not in his apartment at the time of the incident, adding that Kemi’s death was a domestic accident. When our correspondent called the ex-SSA’s phone number, the calls did not connect. The Arobieke’s family lawyer, identified only as Olayiwola, told our correspondents that the result of the autopsy was with the police, adding that both families would be invited by the police. The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Folashade Odoro, confirmed the arrest. She added that investigation was ongoing on the matter. She said, “I don’t know about who is involved, but the suspect has been arrested by the police. Investigation is also ongoing on the matter. When things like this happen, the first suspect is the owner of the apartment. So, he was arrested immediately.” The governor’s media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, when contacted declined to comment on the matter. He said, “It is a police matter. You can get accurate information about whatever happened from the police.” Source: www.punchng.com/news/police-arrest-aregbesolas-ex-aide-for-29-year-old-lovers-death/

Crime / Boko Haram Kills 60 In Yobe Village by yougos(m): 6:12am On Aug 19, 2015 |
AUGUST 19, 2015 : KAYODE IDOWU Over 60 persons have been killed by Boko Haram fighters in Kukuwa – Gari in Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State. Speaking to our correspondent on the telephone on Tuesday, the spokesman for the Yobe State Police Command, Mr. Toyin Gbadegesin, confirmed the attack. But he did not give the casualty figure. He said, “I can confirm that there was an attack at Kukuwa village and the police and other security operatives were able to repel the Boko Haram attackers. We are not aware of the high death toll.” But a member of the local vigilance group, Abubakar Aliyu, told our correspondent that over 60 people lost their lives in the attack. He said most of the victims were shot dead by the sect fighters, while some drowned in a river while they were fleeing from their attackers. He said, “Most of the villagers were drowned in the river which was flooded by the downpour while others were shot dead by the terrorists. The terrorists invaded Kukuwa-Gari village and its environs on motorcycles and trucks and started shooting at every possible target. “Some of us in the local vigilance group and some security officials could not withstand the Boko Haram terrorists’ firepower as they were over 50 and were heavily armed.” Aliyu said they were forced to go into hiding and when they finally came out they counted 60 corpses, adding that most the victims were found at the river bank. Another resident of the area, Kashim Mohammed, who narrowly escaped being killed in the attack, said the death toll had risen beyond 60, insisting that many more corpses were seen at the river bank after the initial count on Friday. He said, “I was able to hide in the bush for two days, when I came out, many dead bodies which is far more than 60 were seen close to the river bank. Most of us could not communicate with people in Damaturu, the state capital, because telecommunication masks have been blown off by the insurgents.” Yobe State had suffered a series of attacks from insurgents in the past and President Muhammadu Buhari had given a new charge to the military to end insurgency in three months. Politics / Exposed: T. A Orji's Plot To Bribe Election Tribunal Fails by yougos(m): 3:12pm On May 10, 2015 |
Igbere Television (IGTV) As the election petition tribunal continues its sitting in Umuahia, attempts by Abia State government to bribe the three man panel at the weekend failed as the member approached warned against such act. Following alleged rigging and manipulation of the March 28 and April 11 general elections by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), contestants on the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and Progressive Peoples Party (PPA) had challenged the results of the polls at the tribunal. According to a reliable source, Governor Orji had given the sum of $2M dollars to the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Umeh Kalu to perfect the deal in ensuring that the Peoples Democratic Party candidates (PDP) have thier victories upheld. Our source revealed that the money released by the Governor was raised from the excess crude oil accounts. Governor Orji has been disturbed over the number of petitions submitted at the tribual alleging massive rigging and falsification of results by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates. Speaking under condition of anonymity, a close associate of one of the tribunal members said, "all attempts by Governor Orji to have the tribunal members to his side has proved abortive. The calibre of members will not compromise their stand and position for any gratification. It is a matter of time, justice will prevail". Efforts to reach the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Orji, proved abortive as his phones were switched off and he did not respond to text messages as well. — Anyim Ogbonna Micheal |
