Nsogbu n'abiara Andy Ubah The leadership of the PDP in the Senate have beckoned on the Senate President to act in accordance with the constitution and declare vacant, the senatorial seat of Senator Andy Ubah who, they said, defected to APC with the PDP still united and not in disarray. The call which was made through the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, appealed to the Senate President, Bukola Sarah to declare the office of Andy Ubah who was elected on the platform of PDP vacant with immediate effect, for cross-carpeting to the APC with the PDP still intact. The request which is subjected to consideration by the Senate President, is yet unresponded to by Andy Ubah. It was a show of who can speak best; who can face the cameras and dish out insults to the APC and Sheriff as the apparently angered PDP stalwarts gathered at Fayose's Conference Hall after the Police sealed up the PDP National Convention Centre. The Bigwigs who spoke in turn had no degrading adjective left in their dictionaries as they rolled all out to brandish the APC government, claiming the actions of the Police were well ordered by the APC who, according to them, are bent on stiffening opposition and deepening the decadence of democratic ideals in Nigeria. Fayose called Sheriff and APC HIV-AIDS he can never associate himself with ever again, while responding to the argument that he and Wike were the cause of the PDP woes, having installed the Borno State Former Gov in PDP Caucus. He rather comically put it "they said I and Wike are the cause of the problem in PDP that we brought Sheriff. I have answer to that. If you toast a lady and she agrees. You both are set to walk to the alter to marry and you then discovered she has HIV-AIDS, won't you run? Sheriff is HIV-AIDS and I can't be with him. Wike in his usual exuberance, asserted that he would never be cowed from speaking the truth and telling APC what they are, stating "you all know am not an Abuja Person. I can't be with them. Their plans have failed." Hmm...ndi madu were onu hi nne...people get mouth plenty. http://igbobia.com/?q=ali-modu-sheriff-is-hiv-aids-fayose-wike-blast-sheriff-the-police-and-apc-at-the-pdp-conference.html cc: Lalisclala

Barrack Obama, the just past President of the US has been ranked 12 all time best President of the US according to Reuters. The ranking which is a survey of historians' on presidential leadership in the US, has Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Franklin D. Roosevelt take the top three slots respectively. Obama however, was well valued in the "pursued equal justice of all" category as sealed the No 3 spot and 39th in the "relations with congress" category. "One would have thought that former President Obama’s favorable rating when he left office would have translated into a higher ranking," said Edna Greene Medford, a history professor at Howard University. "But, of course, historians prefer to view the past from a distance, and only time will reveal his legacy." Reuters reported. The PDP Makarfi Majority Group have, through their twitter handle, blasted two of the 3-man Justices of the Appeal Court who gave their Judgement in Favour of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff while only one of the Justices favoured the Makarfi group stating that their judgement was "scanty." The judgement delivered by the Justices upheld the demands of Senator Sheriff, the leader of the minority to settle out of court (politically) and continue his tenure as the National Chairman of the Party to 2018 a year before the general election The Makarfi Majority Group, through its Spokesperson, Adeyeye, also alleged that Ali MoDU Sheriff has been bought over as the henchman of the APC who are determined to destruct every form of opposition and seal critical voices, Hopeful of winning at the Supreme Court where the case is set to receive final judgment except there is out of court settlement, the Majority Group urged its supporters to remain calm, (ha dere duo) as events unfold. http://igbobia.com/?q=your-judgement-was-poor-pdp-blasts-justices.html cc: Lalasticlala OAM4J

Jidenna Theodore Mobisson amidst disclosing details of his album launch tommorrow, led us briefly into his life. The American-based Nigerian singer and songwriter born to Igbo parents, in a chat with the Beat 99.9fm, talked about his album launch, the inspiration behind the album and everything else needed to spur the fuss of his anxiously listening fans. Caught in the mid of his resting hour, he was sluggish to give breath to his voice at the inception. It took a very careful listenner to hear the beginning of the conversation where he disclosed that tiredness from preparation for his album launch weakened his voice. He was apologetic about that and did better as the interview progressed. Jidenna is one respectful son of Oliver Mobisson, the Late Professor. He has much pride upholding his traditional values and ethics. The bigger influence in his life is his father who instilled in him the true life of a real african man. "My father is my first inspiration. When I look at his picture I get his reflection in me." He said. And of course, it is obvious he missed his dad so direly. Little wonder he said "the album was dedicated to my dad" when asked. Speaking about his relationship with his father before he died, Jidenna appealed to the emotions of many that tuned in, including mine, by revealing the severe stroke his late father, Prof Oliver ,suffered, liking his illness to that of Muhammed Ali. He recounted how he would walk around the hospital with his father holding his walking stick. He would often mimic his father as such. And that became part of him. Now he has a walking stick beside his bed he uses to walk around his house with; even the bathroom, just like we see him in his music videos as he said. With his 2015 hit single "Classic Man" left out in the album with reasons that he did the song with a different record label (group) and that he needed a new lift that cuts across all, Jidenna was optimistic the album would stamp his brand in the global music industry. Choosing Track 4 entitled "Bambi" as his evergreen song in the album, the seemingly gentle lover-boy said the song was a true story of him; his real love life, admitting the song "is the vulnerable part of me. It is a woman I so love that...maybe because of lifestyle got away." He had much to say about his all-the-time-dapper looks. Refuting claims that he knows much about fashion as some even take him for a fashionista, Jidenna claimed "I don't know anything about fashion." His embellished looks, he said, express his love for his father who was himself, a lover of good looks and his love for the African style. Reaffirming his believe and love for his country, when asked how he represents the Nigerian brand there in the USA, Jidenna replied "Naija no dey carry last. Honestly, of all countries I have been to and I know, Nigeria is my best country and I am proud to be a Nigerian. http://igbobia.com/?q=jidenna-reveals-shocking-facts-about-himself-and-his-debut-album.html Obi Ugo Freelance (Content) Writer for Igbobia.com princedavidobi@gmail.com

Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Former Governor of Anambra State has blasted few of the power-hungry individuals in Anambra who recently cross-carpeted to the APC, reffering to them as "people who want to be governor by stealing." The Ex-governor made the statement while addressing newsmen at the Book launch of Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, stated that Igbos are not wanted in APC by all indications. Denying the Igbos principal positions like the SGF and Key Protocol Position in the adminsitratioin of Buhari even with some important personalities in the party like Rochas Okorocha and Chris Ngige very much dedicated in working for the party. He said: "there is nothing for us to show in this government. Are we the Secretary to the Government of the Federation or do we have any protocol position? "Okorocha is in APC but we know we are not wanted. Some people who want to be governor are smuggling themselves into APC but we will not allow them. "South east people are not going to APC.What is happening is that some people just want to be governor by stealing position. About 12 of them are going to APC and they will discover that they will never win any election after going there." http://igbobia.com/?q=ex-governor-ezeife-brands-anambra-politicians-leaving-to-apc-as-thieves.html

The soldiers-brutalised-Chijioke Uraku seemed to have turned internet sensation after the video of two soldiers battering him heartlessly, went viral on the internet, attracting public pity and condemnation. The crippled young man, an indigene of Ikwo, Ebonyi State who was days ago, subjected to the public assault by two soldiers who are now serving terms in the prisons, has since the public were strongly appealed to his condition, been receiving lots of consolation rewards both from the public and the military. Kokun Foundation had taken the lead by showering the lad with lots of materials and cash. Not quite long, the governor of his state, David Umahi splashed him with N500k while calling for the immediate dismissal of the two callous soldiers. Basking on the set ground and trend, Enugu and Onitsha Military Cantonment took him to the Army Barracks to appease him with cash gifts and cloth as well as recognise him as a friend of the Onitsha Military Cantonment and the Nigerian Army. Even in those cities, the strong are kept in (deep) blue funk when the mention of soldier is heard. To the masses, the fear of the military must be the beginning of wisdom. This notion of apprehension has cowed the people to look away when they find such aghast scenarios of military pummeling the defenseless civilians. The government does not give any serious regard either, to such dehumanisation unless the case receives hue and cry. The Gambia are set to return to Commonwealth after four years it was pulled out of the Organisation by its Former Dictator and Head of State, Yayeh Jammehthe in 2013 on the grounds that the Commonwealth was a neo-colonial institution. The Incumbent President of the country, Adama Barrow had made the promise of the Country rejoining the Commonwealth during the visit of Foreign Secretary Bosi Johnson, the first ever visit of a British Foreign Secretary to the Gambia. The Gambia under President Barrow, sets to rebuild its reputation in the international community as battered by the Former Leader. Already the European Union promised The Gambia an aid package of nearly £65m ($81m) - almost three years after the Union froze assistance to the West African nation. Mr Barrow, who was just sworn in last month, has also said The Gambia will reverse its move to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC). www.igbobia.com

A week ago, the media was awash with rather comic exercise of the Nigerian Police where it publicly displayed funds allegedly recovered from officials as proceeds of bribe from Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. This spurred mixed reactions as expected though, the Police were quick to stage a public-media court, award themselves both prosecutors and witnesses, leaving the defendant "in the other room" to be raped by strokes of bashing and condemnation from the public who gave the judgement. The more gullible ones amongst us hailed the "all brave" Police for such fit. These myopic fellows were well ready to sentence the governor to life imprisonment exonerating the officials who collected the so-called bribe. Fortunately however, we have many well thinkers still, who couldn’t buy the laughable brouhaha. Deep thought gets the rational mind perplexed over how the police have become mere tools in the hands of politicians, a situation that has seen them different from political parties only in name and appearance. Perhaps, they are taking queue from the Ondo State House of Assembly, who recently displayed allegedly recovered loot from the Speaker, a pure political game. One wonders why this incidence came in the heat of nationwide protests against the bad governance of the APC-led Government, which suggested there was a deliberate plot to shift the attention of the public from the real to the mundane balderdash and, not forgetting there is no love lost in between the Governor, Nyesom Wike and His Predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi, the APC talisman who sometimes leaves his “gentlemanness” in his dressing room to ensure he guns down his “political enemies.” Aside that this preposterous act of the police is a rape on morality and dignity; an assault on societal values and sense of decency, blatant disregard of orderliness, a campaign of brandishing Nigerians “fantastically corrupt,” an international campaign initiated by our Dear President; more perplexing are rational questions that follow: when did the police begin to parade recovered loots of politicians in the public? When did the Police start parading recovered items without the criminals the items were recovered from, if not for anything, to address the media? Don't we deserve to know the actual suspects from whom these monies were recovered from and the process involved? Even up till now, we don’t know who gave what, how and when. The Police have intentionally neglected serious cases on their table; such case files as containing the killing of DSP Alkali Mohammed, his beheaded Orderly, the Corpse member, the missing five other Police Officers during the elections; even the alleged Five billion Naira raw cash allegedly flown into the state which had pictures as evidence are dumped in the Police shelve soaking dust. Far from my intent, defending the culprit; should Wike be found capable, he should be lawfully treated as such. But the political jamboree staged to celebrate the witch-hunt tagged recovered loot the Police have dabbled into, it is no better than an unfortunate comic relief. The expression of the abundance of the wealth of a great nation such as Igbo is incomplete without touching down on her rich and health-sustaining delicacies. The variety and cheapness of foods available in the igbo land give grace and choice to the rich and the poor alike so that, they are generous at spoiling visitors with delicious meals. The peculiarity of the igbo society is as well, shown in the value and purpose attached to their delicacies. Meals are prepared in line with values and befitting of events. continue reading...http://igbobia.com/?q=igbo-meal-of-the-day.html

A well informed mind would be expressionless reading the daffy optimism expressed in the glaringly political statement from the Organisers of the forthcoming Enugu Trade fair who expressed confidence in the attendance of President Buhari to the well esteemed annual commercial event. Aside the discontentment the people in the state harbor for this ineffective administration championed by the ailing President, the basis to have Buhari in such an event does not in any way appeal to reason. In fact, irrationality meets the grounds for inviting the grand economist and director of an unstable and dying economy in the person of Buhari to such an event of great commercial intensity. Given the benefit of the doubt to the impossibility that Buhari would attend the ceremony, it is commonsensical to ask, for what reason? What does the attendance of Buhari mean to the organizers, other stakeholders involved and the event itself? For a fact, We, Nigerians are cultured in garnishing events with big names and stirring much noise with their presence. We are hypocritically observant in paying tributes and indoctrinated into the ritual of idolization. Our politicization of matters of far reaching indispensability to our well-being is yet a bane of meaningful progress. This is why a state Governor would build a borehole and invite the President to Commission it. A local Government chairman would construct or renovate a classroom and invite the governor to commission. And the shameless guests would in their usual, roll out the whole escort for such mundane ceremony. And of course, what do we get? Millions would be signed out of the treasury for the visi http://igbobia.com/?q=the-irrelevance-of-inviting-the-president-to-the-enugu-trade-fair.html

Read below, the scintillating article of Charles Ogbu on the secrecy and its accompanied lies sorrounding the health condition of President Yaradua. Only a man who lies for a living will attempt to dispute the fact that all is not well with the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari. It is beyond argument that this is 'YAR'ADUA-IZATION' all over.
