It is gets to 3.5 though is will jump out but i hope the stock goes higher for other investors Lolllllllll 😂 your do more investing than trading where FO is? Go and ask those who bought Forte shares @36 when FO was exiting the company and has the share ever went back to that price again? I can't imagine lock down my hard earned money in such investment when I had opportunity to leave. I sold my FO share @42 cos I had insider info he was going to exit the company long before he did. In all your doings be smart. My 2kobo, we are in a generation of working smart and not working hard, we are in a generation of artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence doesn't work hard they work smart. |

The answer to this and many other questions would provide a good indicator of places for investors to take positions before the trains get to the station. there will be bullish run in my own views for a while |

Some people will soon look for zenith and GTCo @40 Lol Nothing is certain in life only death is certain but as long as FPIs are not in yet oga I assure u I will buy zenith at #20 is a matter of time the price u mentioned happened last in 2017 when FPIs we're around. From the price history of all the banking stocks they attained those prices when FPIs we're around and after their exit they follow their usual cycle |

Justcul: So it is wrong to sell 900,000 units at 27 in 2021, buy it back at 19 in 2022
Do the maths and tell me how many units you would have if you reinvest all..
My point is, you need to be smart with money too..
Habert wigwe always sell access shares at high prices, buys them back at low prices Oga, leave those people abeg, a friend was telling me how he intends growing 20m in zenith bank to 300m In next 12yrs not waiting for dividend just buy at 19 sell at 26 take the money to MMF then reinvest again when The Price is lower then finally settle down for dividend of 20m yearly na that time my closed eyes open that I needed to buckle up oo. Since he opened my eyes I have been thinking on how massive wealth can be made by being smart |

onegentleguy: On TRANSCORP...
Performance was indeed a mixed one. Above par on some key metrics and below par on others. But for the excessive ETR (effective tax rate), the company could have delivered a positive YoY NPM. ...an equivalent ETR to that in 2021 would've seen them book an approx 9.6% growth in NPM despite the obvious negative impact from input cost.
Total ETR witnessed an over 193% jump from previous yr guide (ref: 44% vs 15% in 2021) Aside the 30% statutory income tax rate, the additional 14% was driven by pegs on excess dividend tax and deferred tax of approx N4.73B and over N7B respectively.
On the former, it's clear that the company's past negative OP/EBIT or lower net income compared to gross dividend payout occasioned an additional tax burden on her total dividend amount... as against the customary charge on EBIT alone, if the situation were to be reversed. The Gov't claims that it uses this rationale (from the finance act under CITA) to prevent tax evasion and to ensure an equitable/fair taxing policy for both profitable and non-profitable coys within any given financial yr, but I believe it's just a way of double taxing cooperations. ...Nigeria is indeed a funny place!
That's how TRANSCORP has paid out near N4.73B to the FG... an amount that would've translated to no less than 11 kobo additional dividend were it distributed among her shareholders.
On the former (deferred tax), it's logical to believe that the group decided to allocate that N7B+ as expense to cover up for some future tax liability based on its estimated taxable income. Though that N7B+ figure was a 681% increase from previous yr expense, the company's total deferred tax which is skewed on the side of liability suggest that it will likely not be redeemable. (part or whole)
Suffice to say that cost-related pressure (ref: Ad Exp & input cost) occasioned by the hightened harsh operating environment as well as the booked loss on impairment to near N673M, (an over 268% increase from that in 2021) also added to the strain on PAT margin. While many of these cost pressure were expected, management should've been more proactive at optimizing a few of them.
That said, I love the coys BS position and it's SCF. (best to look beyond their SPL) ...it's a mixed report for me. Though they ended the financial yr with less NCPS, the coys FVE still prints an appreciable premium ahead of the combination of CMP + inherent risk. (ref: N2.47)
On a side note; part of the NTS reads that a total cash dividend of N214 will be dolled out to the shareholders of its subsidiary (TRANSCORP POWER LTD) in 2022... a near 70% increase from what was declared in 2021. Reminds me of the statement; monkey dey work...
However, it appears that management might be communicating high confidence in the future prospect of the company following it's decision to convert its YE, 2021 dividend proceeds (near N2.3B) due the aforementioned subsidiary to equity, hence increasing her stake to 51.02% (previous: 50.89%)
Talking about dividend, the company has proposed a 5k payout for 2022 FY... a 150% improvement from it's comparable peg in 2021.
We'll see how the mkt reacts to their report. It is well. very bad result to me |

BabsO2: Bought the UBA today at N8 as it was standing still at my current buy price with more offers than bids. The market offers and bids just change directions like breeze . Waiting for their results and dividend declaration and what direction the market will drive the price. I can see some predicting N6. That can only happen if underlying earnings and EPS drops. not now, after the dividend it will go down then move up again to around 8 to 8.20 then fall back to 6.60. This is my prediction on it. |

emmanuelewumi: Did you read what I wrote earlier, you need to know how to analyze the earning quality/financial health, value creation ability and earning growth of the business
Do you know that the MTN you are so confident about has a negative working capital of over N400 billion, but the company is generating awesome revenue of over N2 trillion Reason why i said they are incomparable despite the negative 400bn |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by YoungBuffet: 1:41pm On Mar 21, 2023 |
emmanuelewumi: MTN pays 90% of its earnings as dividends but the compound anualized earning growth is almost 26% with a return on equity of over 100%.
When you reinvest substantial percentage of your earnings without a very good earning growth over a period of 5years and improvement on the return on equity, management is doing a clumsy job and not creating wealth for shareholders.
Please note,i always make a provision of 33% discount whenever I use the annual growth rate and dividend yield as the basis of my valuation,l use the average 5 year EPS u cant compare MTN ucap just one bad investment then their earnings turns negative. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by YoungBuffet: 1:30pm On Mar 21, 2023 |
emmanuelewumi: Looking at my earning growth analysis the 5yr compounded annual earning growth rate of United Capital is 30%, I think that should be one of the highest on NGX, the current EPS is 43% higher than the average 5yrs EPS this does not look like a company whose growth will end soon, although I expect the growth to slow down to about 18% in the next 5 years.
One of my mentors said if the current EPS of a business is 20% or more higher than its average 5yr EPS, you should know that the growth is not slowing down soon As much as i love your analysis, nothing is certain in life is only death that is certain. If involves in wrong investment like going into bonds investment and the investment goes south like what is currently happening in Ghana am sure it will affect their projected earnings at the end of the day so how will the same dividend be constant yearly. UCAP paid almost all their EPS as dividend that also to me am not comfortable unlike banks like zenith paying 3 from 8 naira EPS. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by YoungBuffet: 1:05pm On Mar 21, 2023 |
ositadima1: In 2020, I purchased UCAP at 2.62 Naira per share, although some individuals may have acquired it at a lower price. UCAP provided a dividend payment of 1.5 Naira per share last year. Thus, a 15 million Naira investment would result in a 8.5 million Naira return, which translates to approximately 715,000 Naira per month over 12 months. Better than working a 9 to 5 in a lot of jobs. Good analysis but what is the assurance that that dividend would be sustainable in the long run |

Bizibi: it won't be as easy as one would expect.... NIGERIA government is too slow in policy implementation and I pray the next government don't spend 7 months looking for competent ministers. I know the pain will last for 2 years and some months.....the next administration have alot of baggages to carry from the current government mess.
I have prepared myself because it will be rough. Whatever the case is as long Nigeria stock exchange still exists and there's movement of prices up and down, money would still be made. Na my own take be that every other things na secondary to me. |
