Business / 5 Top Ways To Be The Best Service Provider You Can Think Of by youngdav(m): 4:10am On Jun 04, 2022
As a service provider, you should be the first to be thought of by your clients when they require services at your disposal. It will help you scale high in your entrepreneurship journey. There are a lot of various service providers on the Internet these days, no matter if you’re talking about the freelance writing industry, graphic design, programming or any other service.

There are professionals with high price tags and sites like Fiverr. that make some services incredibly cheap. But no matter which part of the spectrum you’re at, there are some great ways to be the best service writer possible.

Here are the 5 Top Ways to Be the Best Service Provider You Can Think of
1. Don’t charge prices based on the market as a service provider, especially if you’re trying to undercut the competition. Price your services based on what you think they’re worth. Then don’t worry if some people are willing to pay the price because you’ll find people looking for quality work like yours who are willing to pay good money for it.

2. As a service provider, you must consistent with all your clients, even if they don’t know each other. Charge the same basic prices to all of the clients you have, promise the same deadlines and don’t pick and choose policies based on the client. If they ever encounter each other, you may lose both of them.

3. Double and triple check your work before you send it out. Even catching one or two minor mistakes could mean the difference between a client coming back or not or telling other people about your services. Take some extra minutes as a service provider with every single project and make sure it is 100% what the client wanted and that it is your absolute best work.

4. Be okay with saying no. There may be some projects that you don’t want to work on. It doesn’t matter the reason. You could have a moral objection, or there might be just too much work for the price that the person is willing to pay. The point is to be ready to say no to clients. They will respect you and not ask in the future.

5. Figure out people’s problems around you and then try to solve them. If you can come up with solutions to people’s problems other than your regular services, you could make a great deal more money and can spark a business idea that will take you to the big time.

Conclusion
Following all these 5 top tips of becoming a service will help you so well among your competitors and make your business reach wider audience.

Nairaland / General / It’s Too Early For Buhari To Support Any Aspirant For 2023 Presidency – Femi Ade by youngdav(m): 5:47pm On Aug 14, 2021
Femi Adesina, a presidential spokesperson, has expressed that it is too early for President Muhammadu Buhari to support any aspirant for the presidency in the 2023 general election.
Adesina stated this on Friday during an interview with Channels Television.

Adesina, who explained that the meeting between Buhari and the APC chieftain on Thursday was a “goodwill visit”, said it will be unlike Buhari to jump the gun on supporting presidential aspirants for the 2023 election.

“That meeting actually happened, but it is all about goodwill and best wishes. We know that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had been in London about the same time the president was there,” he said.

“Like you said, we don’t believe what we read in social media but we have read a lot about asiwaju Tinubu’s health, so the president’s visit was a goodwill visit.

“The president still has two years less three months in his tenure of office. So, for him to start supporting somebody now will just be like jumping the gun and you know that President Buhari will never do that.

“Before the 2019 election, people began to campaign for him before INEC blew the whistle for campaign to start. He was the one who came out to say ‘no, don’t do it; don’t jump the gun’.

“The president himself will dare not jump the gun in terms of supporting one candidate or the other. Also, recall that he had said anybody that wants to be president after him should go out and work. That means the president may not be supporting anybody until maybe perhaps a candidate of the party emerges. Knowing President Buhari, he will never jump the gun.”

Nairaland / General / Amazon Jeff Bezos Becomes The First Person Ever Worth $200 Billion by youngdav(m): 12:20am On Aug 27, 2020
The world's richest person, Jeff Bezos, is wealthier than he's ever been. Early Wednesday he crossed a milestone previously unseen in the nearly four decades Forbes has been tracking net worths: With Amazon stock edging up 2% as of Wednesday afternoon, Bezos' net worth is up by $4.9 billion, making the 56-year-old the world's first-ever person to amass a $200 billion fortune.

As of 1:50 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, the Amazon founder and CEO is worth $204.6 billion—nearly $90 billion more than the world's second-richest person, Bill Gates, who's currently worth $116.1 billion.

Even adjusting for inflation, Forbes believes Bezos' fortune is the largest ever amassed. The person to come closest: Bill Gates, who was the world's first-ever centibillionaire. Near the height of the dot-com bubble, when Microsoft reached its then-peak in 1999, Gates' net worth surpassed $100 billion, roughly $158 billion in today's dollars.

Fueled by the change in consumer habits as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Amazon stock is up nearly 80% since the beginning of the year, and Bezos' net worth, which was roughly $115 billion on January 1, has skyrocketed in tandem. Bezos’ roughly 11% stake in Amazon makes up more than 90% of his fortune. He also owns the Washington Post, aerospace company Blue Origin and other private investments.

Bezos would be even richer had he not gone through the most expensive divorce settlement in history last year. When he split from ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, last July, he agreed to give her 25% of his Amazon stake, a chunk of stock now worth $63 billion. Even after giving away $1.7 billion in charitable gifts earlier this year, Scott is currently the world's 14th-richest person and second-richest woman, behind L'Oréal heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers.

Bezos isn’t alone among tech titans with fortunes surging to massive new heights. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg ended Tuesday as a brand-new centibillionaire, worth $103.1 billion after adding $3.4 billion to his fortune in one day, on Facebook stock gains. That surge continued early Wednesday afternoon, with Zuckerberg up an astonishing $6 billion just on Wednesday as of publication time. He's now worth $109.1 billion.

There are now more centibillionaires on the planet than ever. Joining Bezos, Gates and the newly crowned Zuckerberg is LVMH chair Bernard Arnault, who first joined the 12-figure ranks last year. Though his net worth slipped to about $80 billion at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in March, Arnault reclaimed the centibillionaire title in May and today is worth about $115 billion. This makes him the third-richest person on earth–$90 billion poorer than Jeff Bezos.

Update 8/26/2020, 6:05 p.m.: A regulatory filing made public late Wednesday revealed that Bezos donated 7,548 Amazon shares–worth about $26 million–to an undisclosed nonprofit organization. At market close on Wednesday, Bezos was worth $205 billion.

Nairaland / General / (article) Coza: A Rape Reveletion Between Religion by youngdav(m): 12:36pm On Jul 03, 2019
For almost a week, the media has been on fire belching rages and venoms from the four corners of the country. I have read and over read more than a thousand counter opinions and commentaries on rape accusation levied against COZA Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo by popular singer’s wife Busola Dakolo. As much as I have tried not to talk about this drama, what was written on one of the protesters’ placard ( Your penis is not above the law) has been a virile propellant to air my own view.

I had taken enough time to read Busola Dakolo’s rape ordeal. It was very awful and exasperating experience as a teenager and a very big ignominy on the pastor as a man of God. If this allegation can be real and original, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo had committed a dastard sin and had brought an eternal stigma to his ministry. But, this is Nigeria where different bogus and spurious revelations keep on condescending intermittently from its tower all in the name of witch hunting, politicking and rapacious denigration.

Blatantly, if we are to place both the Christians and the Muslims men of God in Nigeria on scales, not less than 90% would be on low battery displaying red signal. We can only be assured of the genuine 10% who are truly discharging their divine ministerial appointments. Our men of God claiming sanctity and sanity are the ones rolling in the murky water of immorality forgetting about their mortality. This analogy depicts that, COZA Pastor Fatoyinbo is not a saint and I have never tagged him as one but I have found it difficult and tiring to believe in Busola Dakolo’s rape accusation against him. Why? because the whole revelation is like a cooked story that is being spiced up with media attention.

From the analysis, Busola Dakolo proclaimed that the Pastor came to their house as early as 6-7 o’clock and he came directly to knock on her door. This shows that there was a kind of relationship between the two for him to had been on rape mission early in the morning without prior notice of others in the building. And for the second time, the Pastor drove along a lone road, dragged her out of passenger’s seat and raped her beside his car. Why would Busola allow someone who had once raped her and still attempted to rape her in his matrimonial home to help her with a lift again ? And what has happened to her courage all these years? What went wrong with her courage throughout the year 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015…What exactly exhumed and stirred up her courage now to speak out in 2019 ? I don’t want to sound right but I seek to be right, there is a clash of interest between the two parties involved and the media was invited by one party to escalate everything instead of reaching a peaceful consensus. Yoruba adage says: ” Oun ti asee ti ile fijo, gbogbo aiye ni o gbo”meaning ” what we cooked that set the house on fire, the whole world must hear it”. And we have heard it for real.

Disgustingly, it is pitiable and disheartening to see restless Nigerians who have never protested to channel the swift implementation of minimum wage carrying placards to demonstrate protest because of this drama. Has anyone protested for the release of Leah Sharibu from Boko Haram captivity? How many protests have been staged so far for our Senators and Honourables to slash their gigantic salaries and allowances? It is a shame to have taken serious issues with levity and haunt for baseless and fatuous issues. Until when there is a flash back or VAR to reshow this rape scene or if Busola Dakolo can bring out a concrete and visible evidence or witness to back up her revelation. I will not stop to count her accusation as mere haunting through the power of the media. If God remains the only witness here, let God be the only judge. Three things cannot be long hidden: the Sun, the Moon and the Truth. Apology to Buddha.

Literature / Story: The Trial Of A Married Woman (by Mercy Okusun) by youngdav(m): 4:17pm On Jun 28, 2019
The sun sets slowly, casting a dull glow over the city. The noises from traffic could be clearly heard; car horns blaring, hawkers calling out their wares to attract buyers and pedestrians talking as they walk to their various destinations. The traffic begins to move as the traffic light changed to color green. All these happenings didn’t matter to her as she continues her slow march, not paying attention to her surroundings. Her flowery gown slaps against her body as the wind blows.

She mumbles some words as she reaches to stroke her chin, coming out of her trance-like state. Her eyes darts to the right to check the traffic light, as she gets to the road intersection.

I’m almost there, she thinks.

She can’t help but recall the events that took place this morning.

She had been in the kitchen, clearing away the remnants of the breakfast they had earlier. She placed the rinsed plates in the dishwasher and began to wipe down the tiled counter-top with a soft kitchen towel. She smiled as she began to hum a favorite tune of hers. The microwave beeped, she turned and moved towards the right corner of the kitchen. She felt her phone vibrate in her skirt pocket, she paused in her movement to pull it out of her right pocket. She felt her heart skip when she saw the caller’s name displayed on the screen. She inhaled and exhaled before tapping the green icon on the screen to answer the call.

“Good morning ma,” she greeted, resting against the counter. She paused as her mother-in-law carried on without answering her greeting. Bosun stared down at her silver wedding ring on her ring finger, she sighed inwardly; it was just too early,

“Are you even listening to me?” The woman on the other end asked in disgust.

“Yes ma,” Bosun replied, her mother-in-law said a few more words and ended the call abruptly. Bosun pulled the phone away from her ear and gave a sigh, “Lord, I ask for strength” she prayed.

***

At exactly 10am, the doorbell rings, Bosun takes a deep breath and smoothed down her hair. Standing up from the black leather sofa, she walks the short distance to the door. She pastes a smile on her face as she turns the door handle and opens the door. A woman in her early sixties stands outside; she’s dark in complexion and of medium height. She is dressed in blue lace Iro and Buba, with its matching head tie carelessly tied on her head. She thrusts her black handbag at Bosun.

“Welcome Ma,” Bosun said, kneeling immediately, her Mother-in-law ignores her and walks through the opened door.

“Hmmm” the Mother-in-law replies nonchalantly, a dark-skinned lady follows behind and also walks through the door. Bosun stands up, shut the door and follows as the older lady leads the way to the sitting-room. Bosun drops the handbag carefully on the small table beside the sofa where her Mother-in-law is seated.

Mrs. Ogunleye stares at Bosun in annoyance as she mumbles an excuse to go get refreshment. Bosun hurriedly leaves the room, walks into the kitchen and closes the door behind her. She rests her head against the closed door and says a few words of prayers.

After praying, she pulls herself together and begin to arrange for refreshment for her guests. She gets chilled fresh juice in a glass jug from the refrigerator, clean drinking glasses from the cabinet and places them on a serving tray.

Taking a deep breath, she opens the door, picks the tray off the counter and leaves the kitchen. Two pairs of eyes tracks Bosun’s movement as she returns to the sitting-room. She set the tray on the small oval glass table and pours the juice into two drinking glasses. She kneels before her mother-in-law as she hands her the glass of juice.Mrs. Ogunleye gave her a venomous look.

To be continued....

Nairaland / General / When Suicide Remains An Antidote For Depression By (busy Brain) by youngdav(m): 5:26pm On May 17, 2019
The road map to heaven is very far. But as far as the heaven, many short cuts have been trending recently in Nigeria. If one needs to visits his ancestors, it is very cheap with the help of sniper. It kills gently and faster. Sniper is the new evil in land that is killing young, middle aged, beautiful ladies and gentlemen as a result of depression.

As a matter of fact, Nigeria is a home of depression or how do one explain the series of gory scenes that is bedevilling the country. What kind of depression is more than when a graduate invested in education and graduated with good grade only to come back home to establish popcorn business. What other form of depression would one tag the Boko Haram bombing, Kaduna killing, Katsina killing, Adamawa killing, Zamfara killing, Plateau killing, ritual killing. Tell me what other category of depression would one classify the kidnapping of poor Nigerians in exchange for huge millions of Naira as ransom. Visiting ones’ relatives in some parts of the country has become a taboo. No one dares toy with his or her dear life as nowhere is save in the country. What other depression is worse than owing workers 38 months salary and seeking for forgiveness in return. I’m still thinking of the numbers of civil servants that would have died of hunger or debt in the course of struggling for survival in Kogi State. What other caliber of depression would one tag a minister who claimed there are surplus medical doctors in the country when in actual sense people are dying due to the poor state and shortage of medical practitioners in our hospitals. At this juncture, one will agree with me that Nigeria is a home of depression for real. If I know and I am sure of my place in heaven, I will join the league of suicide missioners. It is better to enjoy in heaven than to suffer in Nigeria where heartless leaders are being loosed to wickedness.

Of course, no one knows his or her place in heaven and that is where I have problem with those committing suicide. Anyone that has interest in committing suicide must have been very sure of his or her place in heaven. It is not ideal to suffer the acclaimed depression here on earth and continue to suffer in heaven for killing oneself. This is actually the reason why am interested to interview Mr. Ibu, a comic actor who claimed to have died for four days and came back to live. Some of the questions I have in mind to ask Mr. Ibu during his death period is whether he had perceived anyone that had committed suicide eating barbecue with tonic wine in heaven. I want to ask Mr. Ibu whether there is a special restaurant or recreational centre categorically reserved for the people who killed themselves because If one is not so certain of the the life after death, what is the point in committing suicide instead of one to be Godly and keep praying for Divine mercy. If killing oneself cannot guarantee one a paradise ticket, what is the essence of committing suicide when there is ample time to move closer to God.

Worse still, the level of suicide case in Nigeria is getting hiker and more alarming on daily basis and many of the reasons behind this evil mission is far beyond depression for instance

A Computer Science student of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Adewara Damilola Blessing committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance on April 25, 2019. Another Hikmat Gbadamosi, a 100 level Chemical Engineering student of University of Port Harcourt committed suicide by swallowing poisonous sniper on April 29, 2019.

Similarly, Lecturer ll in Department of Mathematics, University of Ibadan, Mr. A.O Subair committed suicide by setting himself ablaze in his staff quarter. At the same time, a lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional planning in the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Mr. Patrick Okojie committed suicide three days to his 47th birthday

More so, on the 4th of February 2019, an ex student of the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State, Adekunle Bukola Olanrewaju committed suicide under a bamboo tree at his resident in Ile Ife by drinking rat poison. Similarly, a middle aged man identified as Odaga King committed suicide by setting himself ablaze in River State as a result of frustration.

More so, a 29 years old boat driver in Bayelsa State committed suicide by hanging himself with a strong fish rope on Easter evening because of frosty relationship with his lover and recently, one Kolapo Olowoporoku committed suicide.

How many of Adepele’s multiple and interlocks teeth could be counted? What of the suicide cases that are not reported in the media. The above mentioned suicide cases were mostly triggered by depression. Depression is real but suicide is never the solution. Suicide is against the doctrine of religion as no religion preaches suicide. The present condition can be tough but no condition is permanent in life. Instead of one to resolve to suicide, one can actually take time to discuss the depression with people. Problem shared is half solved. Let us share what is bothering our minds within ourselves and let’s imbibe the idea of listening to our problems. Suicide is evil and no special place for people that had committed suicide in heaven. Say no to suicide. Things might not be going as planned but when there is life, there is hope.

Nairaland / General / Marriage Vows, For Better For Worse Is Unscriptural And A Curse – Oyedepo Reveal by youngdav(m): 2:03am On Mar 28, 2019
The General Overseer of the The Living Faith Church Worldwide a.k.a Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has stated that the marriage vows which people recite when they are getting are curses.

According to the clergy man, making vows by saying “for better for worse” is tantamount to calling on curses on one’s head. Oyedepo also revealed that such marriage vows are unscriptural.

Bishop Oyedepo was quoted by a Facebook page as saying:

All that “for better for worse, in sickness and in health”, that people recite as marriage vows is unscriptural. It is a curse.

That is that… However on another gist on the issue of marriage and the scripture, popular and controversial Nigerian On-Air Personality, Daddy Freeze, has stated that “all vows are satanic, including marriage vows, Christ said so himself, when you see him, argue with him.”

He went on to say that, ” you don’t need a priest or a church to get married” because “we are all priests” therefore you can “pronounce YOURSELF married”. He continued, saying, ” IT’S YOUR GOD GIVEN DUTY and it has NOTHING to do with the church.”

He wrote:

For Christians, the scriptures say two became one. How can you become one with someone who can’t access your phone, email or bank details? HOW?

Those pulpit gaslights have lied to you all your life, a great pity it is that you are living a lie and the consequence is your expulsion from God’s city read Rev22:15.

Many of you are living separate lives while carrying a legal document to pronounce you a couple, thats a huge joke on no one else but you.?

The fact that you got married in a religious shrine in front of a priest does not make you a married couple, as a matter of fact, you don’t need a priest or a church to get married. 1 Peter2:5 says we are all priests, stop outsourcing your priestly role to a yahoo boy by hiring someone else to do your job, pronounce YOURSELF married, IT’S YOUR GOD GIVEN DUTY and it has NOTHING to do with the church.

All vows are satanic, including marriage vows, Christ said so himself, when you see him, argue with him.

Become one with your spouse today, or get a divorce, it’s as simple as that, stop leading another person into lust because of Godless religious traditions. ~FRZBecome one with your spouse today, or get a divorce, it’s as simple as that, stop leading another person into lust because of Godless religious traditions.

Nairaland / General / My Inec Vigil Experience By: Busy Brain by youngdav(m): 4:25pm On Feb 17, 2019
I have never at any point in my life lose hope in the reformation of this country from its poor and stunted growth to a better, robust and convenient nation for all and sundry. As a matter of fact, I was among those patriotic Nigerians who so much believe in ‘Nigeria go better mantra’ not until the last moment of my long hours vigil at INEC office.

I had the most embarrassing disappointment yesterday having gone to the INEC office as earlier as 2:30pm with an empty tummy. Like other Corps members who have never participated in electoral processes before, I rushed myself to the venue to meet up with the bus that would be taking us to our centre without knowing about the upcoming vigil. We were all deceived to remain calm and wait for the INEC materials and for real, we maintained that calm tempo. Later in the night, we all got stranded hanging around while many were on the floor, sleeping over night under the stench of cold breeze. I cannot but imagine the kind of suffering inflicted on the Corps members just because we wanted to participate in the process of electing another set of corrupt representa-thieves on a token stipend.

Sincerely speaking, Nigeria is a typical example of a confused nation that is being managed by the most confused set of leaders with weak, shallow, and disjointed minds. I have said it severally that, this country is still a toddler crawling in the hands of the wicked and prodigal representa-thieves under their immoral guise of outrageous, rapacious revelations.

Yesterday was a very tough, stressful and prayer free vigil for all the Corps members across the country. What Nigeria electoral body planned for four years ran under the senseless decision of postponement. This decision had not only jeopardized the already fixed programmes of many Nigerians but had also made the country to be an object of ridicule before the international community.

Up till now, some of the senseless Nigerian youths have not realised the level of wickedness of our greedy leaders because of the higher level of their own stupidity. They will still continue to rant on social media to defend their masters’ failure and continue to launch attack on their perceived enemies. At this juncture, a minute silent for the sixty six life that journey traveled to eternal slumber in Kaduna State for pre-election violence. How I wish these people know that they have died for those that care less about their existence. How I wish they know the facts that these looters are not worth dying for.

To my fellow Corps members, I want to believe that yesterday’s vigil was one of those horrific experience in the journey of life. Our skin layers that were exposed to cold and mosquitoes shall sing and spell out some malignant nemesis. Let us bear it in mind that every disappointment is a blessing. One day, we shall tell these stories with joy that we once had a vigil during 2019 general election and before then, I pray for the abundant blessing to fall on us like rain beyond our imaginations.

Lest I forgot, let me use this medium to welcome the international observers to the best country in the world where four years planning resulted to failure at last minute. Although, I still hope for a better Nigeria

God bless Nigeria!
God bless the Youths Corps Members!
