Nairaland / General / [A Must Read] How Vulcanizers In Nigeria Are Killing People Everyday – You Need by youngdav(m): 4:05pm On Feb 21, 2018
Notice!! Important Information To All Vehicle Users, From CNN.

Many people have been wondering what could be the cause of the incessant tyre burst accidents on Nigerian roads everyday.
The major cause is that we inflate too much pressure on our tyres. How did I know?
I was preparing for a long journey, and decided to changed some of my tyres. When I asked the vulcanizer the recommended Air pressure for the tyres, He said 50. I said alright, he should inflate it to 50 all round. When I got to where I was going, I was discussing with some people on the issue of the minister that died on the road due to a burst tyre and wonder what could have happened, because nobody could imagine a minister would be travelling with expired tyres as many would think is the major cause of tyre bursts.
A man (lived in US for many years) said that the major cause of tyre burst in Nigeria is that we inflate too much pressure in our tyres, he reminded us that each car has a specific recommended tyre size and pressure clearly written on it by the manufacturers.
*I was surprised and begged him to come and show me where it’s written on my car. To my greatest surprise, it’s by the drivers door which I enter everyday without noticing it.*
By the time we checked, the recommended pressure for my tyres is 32 and I just traveled with tyres on a pressure of 50 .
He took me round his compound and showed me that of the cars (which includes a jeep and a sienna), and the highest was 32. Some were even 29.
He further explained that tyres are made of rubber and expand at a high temperature. So, when you are travelling in the afternoon when the asphalt on the road is hot, the tyres tend to expand. If the pressure on the tyre is too much and wouldn’t accommodate the expansion, a burst is likely to happen at that time.
Pls check the recommended tyre pressure for your vehicle and others you know.
As many as possible Nigerians need to read this.
Keep Sharing till everyone is aware – Who knows? You might be saving a Soul.

Nairaland / General / If You Can Prove This, Then I Will Resign – Fayose by youngdav(m): 4:12pm On Dec 19, 2017
The Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has given the only reason he will resign as the governor of the state and according to him, he will step down if anyone can present evidence that he loaned N56bn as many claim.
This statement was made following claims that the State has borrowed a total of N56 billion since he resumed as governor of the state with a fresh N25 billion loan pending;

Fayose via his twitter handle wrote;

If they can present evidence that I borrowed N56bn, I will resign.’ “the only fresh loan taken by the government of Fayose was the N10 billion grant from the Excess Crude Account, which was released to all States for capital projects, N2.8 billion requested from Wema Bank to pay State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) counterpart fund out of which N1 billion has been accessed and N600 million for MDGs counterpart fund, which has been repaid.

Nairaland / General / [A Must See] The 9 Things That Are More Important Than Money (no. 8 Is The Most by youngdav(m): 3:34pm On Dec 19, 2017
We all know the value of having plenty of money, especially as entrepreneurs. But we also know there are people who started enterprises with no money, who went on to make fortunes. So how did they do it?
Elegance Nigeria brings to you guys the nine things that are more valuable than capital, things that can lead straight to your success.

I will be using a lady whose name is Toke as the subject of this article.

Check them out below:-

1. Time
Time is a treasure, the time you set aside not to be wasted, not to be given away. The time you set aside to be invested in something that brings value to the marketplace with the hope of making a profit, that’s capital time.

How valuable is time? Time properly invested is worth a fortune; time wasted can be devastation. Time invested can perform miracles, so invest yours.

2. Desperation
My friend and mentor Bill Bailey went to Chicago as a teenager after he got out of high school. And the first job he got was as a night janitor. Someone said, “Bill, why would you settle for night janitor?” He said, “Malnutrition.” His first job might have been night janitor, but he went on to receive the Horatio Alger award and become rich and powerful, one of the great examples of lifestyle that I know.

Desperation can be a powerful incentive when you say I must. You work at whatever you can possibly get when you get hungry. You go to work somewhere, it doesn’t matter where.

3. Determination
I have another friend, Toke, whose first major investment in her new enterprise was also desperation. She needed to feed her kids, so she invested $1 in something she believed in. That $1 was used to buy a few flyers so she could make a sale at retail, collect the money and then buy the product wholesale to deliver back to the customer.

First Toke said, “I must find a customer”, desperation. Second she said, “I will find someone before this first day is over”, determination. And sure enough, she found someone. Determination says I will.

4. Courage
If you’ve only got $1 and a lot of courage, you’ve got a good future ahead of you. Because humans can do the most incredible things no matter what happens, courage in spite of, not because of, circumstances.

5. Ambition
With courage, Toke made three or four more sales. And once she got going, ambition took over. She thought, If I can sell three, I can sell 33. If I can sell 33, I can sell 103. Toke was dazzled by her own dreams of the future.

6. Faith
At this point, Toke began to believe she had a good product, a good company. And then she started to believe in herself, Toke, a single mother, two kids, no job. My gosh, I’m going to pull it off! Her self-esteem started to soar.

Faith is an investment that cannot be matched. Money can’t touch it. What if you had a million dollars and no faith? You’d be poor. You wouldn’t be rich.

7. Ingenuity
The reason Toke is a millionaire today is because of her ingenuity, she put her brains to work.
Probably up until now, you’ve put about 1/10 of your brainpower to work. What if you employed the other 9/10? You can’t believe what can happen. Humans can come up with the most intriguing things to do.

What’s ingenuity worth? A fortune. All you need is a $1 and plenty of ingenuity. Figuring out a way to make it work, make it work, make it work.

8. Heart And Soul
Heart and soul is like the unseen magic that moves people, moves people to make decisions, moves people to act, moves people to respond.

What is a substitute for heart and soul? It’s not money, because heart and soul is more valuable than a million dollars. A million dollars without heart and soul? You have no life. You are ineffective.

9. Personality
My mentor Bill Bailey taught me, “You’ve got to learn to be just as comfortable, Mr. Rohn, whether it is in a little shack in Kentucky having a beer and watching the fights with my friend Winfred, or in a Georgian mansion in Washington, D.C., as the senator’s guest.”

You’ve got plenty of personality. You’ve just got to spruce up and sharpen up it, develop it to where it is effective every day, at home anywhere, no matter who you talk to, whether it is a child or a businessperson, a rich person or a poor person. It makes no difference to you who is rich or who is poor. It’s about the chance to have a unique relationship with whomever. Have the kind of personality that’s comfortable, the kind of personality that’s never bent out of shape. Move with ease, with charisma and sophistication and humility.
With $1 and this list, the world is yours. It belongs to you, whatever piece of it you desire, whatever development you wish for your life. It’s the kind of capital that is more valuable than money and that can secure your future and fortune. Remember that you lack not the resources.

Do you now agree there are things that are important than money?

Drop your opinion

Nairaland / General / Allow Polytechnics To Award Higher Degrees, Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti Outgo by youngdav(m): 3:26pm On Dec 19, 2017
The outgoing Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Dr. Theresa Akande, has said that the only way polytechnics can be at par with the universities is by allowing them to award higher degrees.
Akande said polytechnics in some Francophone African countries are allowed to award masters and doctoral degrees, adding that this accounted for why technology education is better in those countries than in Nigeria.
Akande spoke at a press conference held at the polytechnic on Monday marking the end of her tenure as the institution’s chief executive officer.
The former rector called on the federal government to rejig polytechnic education in Nigeria, so that the country could operate at the same level with other advanced countries that are making waves in the world of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
“Francophone countries like Cote D’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau and Guinea were allowed to award masters and doctoral degrees. I have been there and saw it work, so Nigeria must adopt this because no country can grow in this modern days without better technological innovation,” she said.

Nairaland / General / For Ladies! 10 Things Beautiful Girls Do In The Evenings by youngdav(m): 9:28pm On Dec 18, 2017
We all want to look beautiful, but not all of us are prepared to put in the effort. So rather than waking up looking like a super model as we’d prefer, we wake up looking tired, distressed, and OMG WHAT ARE THOSE DARK CIRCLES DOING THERE!
When it’s time to hit the sack after another long day at work, the last thing we feel like doing is making the effort to look good the next day.

“I’ll fix my face in the morning,” we groan before flopping face down on the pillow, smearing our make-up.

Beautiful girls don’t do this. They don’t put off until tomorrow what can be done today. They put the effort in each night to make sure they take care of their health, their youth and their looks.

If you’re ready to look after your beauty by putting the effort in, here are 10 things beautiful girls do each evening.

They Take Off Their Make-Up

Ladies, we’ve all gone to bed wearing out make-up at least once in our lives. Especially after a night on the town, getting under the duvet with our masks on is just too tempting.

But it’s actually a really bad thing to do. You might not think it’s much of a big issue – but it is.

If you sleep in your make-up, you’re increasing the chances that your face is going to breakout in spots. Why? Because beauty products, when left on too long, will clog your pores.

There is another good reason to remove your make-up: If you leave it on, you’re basically going to bed with a face full of bacteria.
Not nice.

They Sleep On Two Pillows

If you’ve been sleeping on just one pillow all this time, it’s time to prop your head up with a second pillow. Why? Because this will help to prevent puffiness.

When you’re lying in bed, gravity can help with blood and lymph floor – but only if you let it. If you sleep with just one pillow, your eyes and face might develop fluids that leave you looking puffy for tomorrow’s date.

They Brush Their Teeth

We know, we know. You brush your teeth in the morning, once in the early evening and sometimes you brush them before bed.

But sometimes you skip a bedtime brush because your teeth actually feel alright. And anyway, you’ll brush them as soon as you wake up. So where’s the harm?

Not brushing your teeth at night means you’re going to bed with a mouth full of bacteria that clings to your teeth – and sticks there. Plaque forms, and eventually so does tartar. This can lead to gum disease, halitosis – and even heart disease.

Beautiful girls brush every single night, and they floss too.

They Do A Spot Treatment

Beautiful girls use a purifying mask to do a spot treatment in the evenings. In this way, they are targeting acne and preventing nasty breakouts.

They Moisturise

Beautiful girls don’t just moisturise here and there. Instead, they moisturise their whole body.

I do this myself. I put lotion all over my body each evening, and when I sleep the products soaks into my skin and does its thing, giving me a gloss, a shine and keeping my looking youthful and healthy.
If you don’t moisturise, you could end up with dry skin that turns hard and itches. This can stop you from having a sound night’s sleep, and it can also damage your self confidence.

They Sleep With A Humidifier

An air humidifier is well worth investing in if you want to stay looking young, beautiful and healthy. Beautiful ladies combine them with a barrier repair moisturiser, with the humidifier making your skin resistant to allergens and irritants.

Air humidifier’s also hydrate your skin overnight, preventing it from dying out and meaning tha you don’t have to moisturise the next day.

Humidifier’s can be noisy, so if you’re sharing a room it’s polite to ask for permission first.

They Wear Their Hair Down

Do you think it’s better to wear your hair down or hold it back when you sleep? If you answered the latter, we need to talk.

Holding your hair back is not a clever idea because the elastics will tear as you move around in bed, and this can harm your lovely but fragile tresses.

Worse still, you could easily wake up with tangles which are not cool at all (which you already know).

They Use Toners

Each night, beautiful girls use a toner to tone up their face. A toner makes your skin more resistant to micro-organisms and bacteria, and it resorts your face’s natural pH levels.

It also rides your face of pollution, dust and any other type of impurity.

They Don’t Wear Socks

Okay, sometimes your feet might get cold as you slip into bed at night. This is normal. But girls who want to hold onto their beauty know that some sacrifices have to be made. And going to bed without socks is one of them.

Socks in bed is cozy and they can help you to get settled. But they can also cause your feet to sweat, and sweaty feet is a breeding ground for bacteria and fungal growth.

Sometimes, it does get really cold at night but it’s important that you stay strong on this one.

They Get Lots Of Sleep!

“I’ll sleep when I’m dead!”

If you’ve overworked, you’ve probably used the above phrase. Maybe you’re the first one in the office and the last to leave. And before heading home, you hit the gym first. By the time you finally do crawl into bed it’s almost 1am and your alarm goes off at 6am.

Although living a fast-paced life can be exciting, it shouldn’t be a part of any girls beauty regime. Beautiful girls put their beauty first, and as such they make sure to get at least eight hours of sleep each night.

Lack of sleep can be the reason we develop dark circles around our eyes, and it can even leave us looking pale and weary.

Stay beautiful!

Jobs/Vacancies / How To Get A Banking Job In Nigeria by youngdav(m): 11:34pm On Dec 10, 2017
Banking job in Nigeria is a job for those who aspire to be the best in all they do, the environment in this industry is highly competitive. A moment of weakness on your part could place you on the sidelines. Being good on the job is not rocket science, it is something that happens with your commitment, passion and loyalty to the system.

But to be in contention for beating the competition, you have to get the job first; and that is the purpose of this article. From my personal experience, it cannot be said that getting employed by a bank is difficult or easy. The reason is because there are a lot of variables which compels banks to recruit.

Depending on the variable, which is never constant from year to year, it directly determines the processes involved and the duration of the selection exercise.

There are two major forms of recruitment obtainable in the industry, they are:

Executive Trainee
Experienced hire
Executive trainees are the sets of candidates comprising of fresh graduates not more than 26 years of age. A banking career in Nigeria usually starts from this level.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR EXECUTIVE TRAINEE HIRE

To be in position to apply for a bank job as an ET, you will have to possess the following requirements:

Should not be above 26years of age
Should possess a degree (BSc or HND) not less than second class upper
Gone through NYSC
Possess good communication skills
Smart and young
Now these are the basic qualifications for ET, if you possess the above requirements congratulations you have passed the first step. The second step is the unwritten requirements and this is where you have to do your homework. You have to prepare a great CV and a cover letter that will sell you better. Consider yourself as someone convincing and telling the bank what you are and what you can offer, the interview time does not last more than 10mins, but your resume and credentials stays in their possession after you are long gone, so how you arrange your CV and credentials represents you.
Remember to use professional email address for your CV, what I mean is using your full name in your email, not some odd and informal expressions like sweetchick@yahoo.com or john1986@gmail.com. Ensure that your date of birth dose not conflict, cross check what you have on your WAEC certificate with your birth certificate.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

There are different avenues one can submit applications, in this digital era all banks have a human resources page on their websites that accepts job applications. There are times were it has to be hard copy in designated branches. Again it depends on the need and the sense of urgency. The key here is to get the right information at the appropriate time.

THE BANK WILL CONTACT YOU

After submitting your application, it may take some time to be contacted by the bank for either aptitude test or interview. Either step that comes first depends on the urgency of the process. There are situations where aptitude test will be bypassed and it may just be series of interviews. Make sure your phones and emails are reachable at this stage.

THE TRAINING SCHOOL

After going through aptitude test and interviews, successful candidates are enlisted for the banks’ training school, every bank has a name for their training school, and it usually takes between 3 to 6 months depending on the bank.

During this period, the bank will train you on all their processes and duly equip you with requisite knowledge on how to beat the competition in the industry.
There are also series of examinations and written test in the school, failing any test or exam at any stage of the training may mark your exit from the process, which is why you have to be at your very best.

Successful completion of the program translates into a brand new career for you, that makes you an executive trainee (ET) of the bank and this is the starting level.

EXPERIENCED HIRE

The experienced hire in the banking industry is when a banker is switching to another bank. The process is not the same with the executive trainee, this is because they are already in the system with some years of experience.

The qualifications are:

Bachelors degree or HND (second class upper)
Additional qualification is an added advantage
Must have some years of banking experience
Must be cleared from the previous bank (integrity wise)
There may be other requirements depending on the bank, but these are the basic requirements for experienced hire. Successful candidates are usually placed one step above their current level but never below.

These are just my personal experience in the industry, and I hope it helps one step further in actualizing your dreams of becoming a banker. Congratulations in advance.

Romance / 10 Strong Reasons You Should Get Married In Your 30s, Not Your 20s by youngdav(m): 11:20pm On Dec 10, 2017
As written by someone who got hitched in both decades
Every time I see a young woman flashing her engagement ring, I want to grab her by the hand, sit her down, and counsel her.

It’s not that I’m against women getting married while in their 20s; I just know that marriage is so much better when you wait until your 30s. I’ve been there, done that, and conquered adversity.

I’m 34 years old and on my second marriage.

My divorcee demographics:

Met my future ex-husband: Age 25
Bling, bling, got the ring: Age 26
Got hitched: Age 27
Got ditched: Age 28
I’m proud of the fact that I got divorced in my 20s. It means I had the courage to leave my home, pick up the pieces, and start my life over when all my friends were getting married and having babies.

I could’ve stayed in an unhappy situation — spending every night sleeping next to someone who no longer wanted to be married to me — knowing I would never have the future of my dreams.

Instead, I chose to chase those dreams. And now, I’m living them.

I’m grateful for my “failed” marriage.

I prefer to refer to it as a learning experience because it led me to where I’m supposed to be: happily remarried, and mommy to a beautiful daughter and two fur-children.

I made my divorce a positive experience by uniting with other twenty-something divorcées to show them that they’re not lone wolves — we have a pack. I formed a private online support group, hosted local meet-ups, conducted interviews, and published a book: Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s.

When my marriage ended, I made a list of qualities I wanted in a new mate, and luckily enough I found someone who meets all the requirements on my checklist. We got married when I was 32 years old, and I can say with confidence that this wedding dress will be preserved.
Marriage in your 30s is way better than in your 20s. Now that I have my happily ever after, I can’t imagine going through life with my ex-husband. Marriage works when you’ve found the right person.

But there are also advantages to waiting until you’re a little older to tie the knot:

1. By your 30s, you most likely have sowed your oats.

You’ve dated around, know what’s out there, and got all the bad boy lovin’ out of your system.

2. You’ve had enough time to recover from your first major heartbreak.

During my research, I found that many women got married because they thought they’d never find anyone else to compare to their first love, so they settled.

3. Your 20s are about self-indulgence.

You’re creating yourself. By your 30s, you know who you are and what you can offer a partner. You’re not going to outgrow each other.

4. With age comes maturity and better communication skills.

Instead of fighting over little things or pushing issues under the rug, you know how to address them.

5. You know what you want.

You’re not going to waste time dating someone in your 30s when you know it’s not going anywhere, so the partner you marry will be someone with whom you can have a successful future.

6. You’ve established self-confidence.

By bringing out the best in yourself, you’re enhancing your marriage.

7. By your 30s, you’ve hopefully learned how to manage money.Finances are a huge source of conflict for couples and a reason many young couples divorce. Who wants to spend all their nights fighting about cash flow?

8. You’re more secure in your career in your 30s.

This provides you the time and energy to focus on a marriage.

9. You’ve had time to live alone.

Either with a roommate or love interest, and you’ve become a responsible adult. You’re not learning this while adjusting to marriage.

10. You’ve found your voice.

In your 20s, you’re facing pressure from friends, family, and society to follow the norm. In your 30s, you have the courage to stand up for yourself. And that will lead you to where you should be and who’s supposed to accompany you on this life adventure.

Nairaland / General / Fraudsters Reportedly Sell Lagos Lagoon For N787million by youngdav(m): 11:32am On Nov 18, 2017
A US-based Nigerian businessman was dazed in Lagos, when land agents led him to the lagoon after the part-payment for 150 plots offered for N787.5 million.

Kennedy Chukwuemeka Nwabuoku told detectives led by DCP Abutu Yaro, at the Force Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (FCIID), Alagbon, how he had paid N577, 590, 792 in installments among other charges, plus another N18million for bush clearing in February, and how the agents were sending him pictures and videos of caterpillars in action at the purported site at Ifedele Agunbiade Village, Sangotedo, in Eti-Osa area of Lagos.
Nwabuoku told the police that he bought the unseen land with a foreign partner and had paid in fiduciary trust, sending monies on different occasions through his company, KenBouk Global Investment Ltd.
Identified as Emeka Okoronkwo and Michael Owolabi Alonge, the agents, according to Nwabuoku, had offered the land for sale at N5, 250, 000 per plot with Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).
NewsmakersNG learnt that members of Nwabuoku’s family in Nigeria who wanted to see the site were told that the land was in an area bought by prominent Nigerians like former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Oba Riliwanu Akiolu, and it was cordoned off so that ordinary citizens could not gain access.
When he became suspicious, Nwabuoku sent the C of O to a friend to verify, and the friend found that no such land or location described in the document existed.
He decided to visit Nigeria and inspect the land for which he had paid the property agent, Okoronkwo, who was identified as owner of Kings Court Realtors at Plot 321A, Akin Ogunlewe Street, Victoria Island.
When he was quizzed by the police on November 8, 2017, Okoronkwo allegedly admitted that he collected N603, 000, 000 for 100 plots, agency fees and legal fees through transfers to Kings Court Realtors’ accounts in two banks.
Detectives found that Nwabuoku transferred the monies in the following order over a period: N229, 000, 000, N86, 000, 000, N120, 000, 000, N41, 300, 000, N11, 291, 000, and N90, 000, 000.
They also found that the C of O given to Nwabuoku is a fake one, and that Alonge who introduced him to Okoronkwo “masterminded the fraud”.
According to the detectives, fictitious persons were listed in the Deed of Assignment that the suspected fraudsters also gave to Nwabuoku.
When Nwabuoku arrived and insisted he must see the site before further payments, Alonge allegedly took him to a location far inside a wooded area that led to the lagoon with canoes going back and forth.
“Mr Michael Owolabi Alonge started pointing around and towards the lagoon, as if he was not sure where the land is anymore,” Nwabuoku stated in his petition to the police.
When Nwabuoku, who had been given no receipt, asked for a refund, he said that the suspects had threatened to kill him if he fails to keep quiet on the transaction.
Detectives have completed their investigation and the matter has been charged to court with Sgt Morufu Animashaun as police lawyer.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Alonge is on the run.
There was an arrest warrant for Okoronkwo who allegedly received the payments, and he will appear in court on December 5.
The case is pending before Chief Magistrate (Mrs) Abimbola Komolafe of Magistrate Court 3, Igbosere, in Lagos.

Romance / [A MUST SEE] 10 Good Reasons Why You Should Get Married by youngdav(m): 1:53pm On Nov 16, 2017
You are one of those people who think that marriage is a useless step in life. You think that life can be good minus marriage too. Then maybe you need to be aware of some good reasons as to why people get married. You are looking at substantial arguments to tell you that marriage is not that bad, after all. Here are some reasons that you should get married.
Reasons that why you should get married are:

1.You have a stable sex life: When you get married, you get the license to have sex with your husband whenever you want. You don’t have to feel guilty or ashamed about it, because both of you are in a happy, healthy relationship together, and having sex regularly is a part of it. Plus, with one loyal partner, there is no risk of STDs, as would be the case if you were single and having sexual encounters with various people.

2.You face low mortality risk: It has been proven by scientific research that married people are likely to have a longer life, as compared to single people. So if you love your life and want to lead a longer one, then marriage will affect your longevity directly. When you try and study this logic properly, you realize that marriage is the focal point to better health and wellness; as a result of which, people end up living longer.

3.You get lifelong companionship: Everyone likes to have that one stable friend to depend on for everything. With marriage, your husband becomes that stable friend for you. Irrespective of whatever good or bad happens in your life, he will be just a call away for you. And he too will never be able to move away from this position, because the bond of marriage will make him liable to be there for you, even if it means rescuing you from a road accident urgently, or leaving work to come wipe your tears when you’re in some problem.
4.Your standard of life improves: With marriage, your chances of moving out of a poor neighborhood to a better one increase. Moreover, since there are incomes of two people (you and your husband’s), focusing on one household, obviously your spending power and quality of life become better. Your husband too will take extra steps to get you good things because he will consider it to be his moral duty and responsibility.

.You get a new family: Marriage will make your husband’s family, your family. This means that you get a lot of new relationships to look at and enjoy. You enjoy the bliss of a bigger family, with more people to share your joys with. Festivals and occasions become more enjoyable, and there are more people who are concerned about your well being on a whole.

6.Your friend circle expands: When you are single, you can only do a limited amount of activities with your single friends. Your married friends would be interested in some other activities. However, when you get married, you can do the same activities as your other married friends. You can go on couple gatherings and trips. Plus, your husband’s friends will also become your friends, and so will their spouses, thereby expanding your friend circle. You get a more active social life, with great friends to look forward to.

7.You’re safe and secure for life: Marriage also makes you pretty safe and secure for your life. Your husband will make sure that there are some savings for you, even if he passes away. 8.It enriches you as a person: Marriage has the ability to make a person mature, smart and responsible. You also become more sensitive, understanding and supportive. Nairaland / General / GUYS ONLY!!! These Are The Easy Ways To Woo A Girl Without Using Money by youngdav(m): 8:20pm On Nov 11, 2017
Most guys are scared of approaching a girl to wooing her thinking that before going into a relationship you must have lots and lots of money and this is where most guys miss it.
These steps works best on girls who are single or want a new relationship, of course I wouldn’t go with these on a slay queen. They have no brains so lol.

Don’t get me wrong. I said without money. This is not in anyway encouraging broke guys o cause money is still needed in the relationship. You guys must go out. You must transport if you have a car you must buy fuel etc. Money needed for all those things.

So here are some ways, If you are cute. This will make you outstanding.

1. Be funny and romantic.

If you want to woo a girl and you are a funny guy, you have an advantage, you can mix this wittiness of yours with romance, be romantic and at the same time be funny, don’t just be funny.

Be funny and slowly keep a great conversation with her while making your intentions know to her slowly, slowly do this, it will be preferable to do this via chat or in person anyone you feel comfortable with.

Like for example of me being funny.

Girl :she uploaded a very cute dp and I was like

Me: babe, this your dp is too cute o, you want to give them boys sleepless night ba, you just they hit anyhow o, even fire self they quench, your own na endless hotness”

She found it funny and she laughed and then I added the romantic funny line

“our babies are going to be very cute, I mean look at how cute their mother is, and of course the daddy which is me is also cute so our combination will be beautiful” and she was like
Girl: oh dear you are very funny.

So you see.

It has even gotten to the point that she enjoys me so much that even if we are suppose to take a bus home she will be like “baby no need lets stroll so we can see things to laugh and gist about and hold hands, it’s romantic”

I give her a great conversation that I leave her yearning for more. I am more than best friend and parents combined because I have given her the kind of excitement. Listening ears that she hasn’t experienced before.

NOTE : This might not work on some girls but you just have to look for something that will work on her.

2. If you have a great voice, sing to her.

Girls love guys who have great voice and can sing, so if you can sing her a romantic short song most of the time. She will definitely fall in love with you. While slowly making your intentions known to her.

3. Be neat and keep a great fashion sense.

Dress responsibly with some mature swag. Not some childish bull poo, if you wanna sag. Sag moderately. It’s still cute. Just be yourself. Dress cool. If you keep your hair. Make sure it’s well shaved.

Wear good Cologne with beautiful smell. Brush your teeths. Just smell good whenever you are around here. Don’t go around smelling like candle or mosquito coil.

4. Look fit and be cute

I do 30 press up every morning and 30 frog jumps so my up and down body looks fit and it’s attractive, drink water and eat moderately so you don’t become fat and look unkempt. Take care of your skin, look fresh and kept. Very important.
5. Take her out to nice places.

Take to cool restaurants, shouldn’t be too cheap. Tell her you took her here not because you have the money for it but because you just wanted to make her feel special and that you both are not complete without each other. She will appreciate it. You don’t have to take her to expensive places all the time.

You could take her to the cinemas to watch a cool movie. But pop corn. Play with her gently while watching the movie. Kiss her. Hold her hand and enjoy yourselves together.

In summary.

Have a great personality, Don’t be too nice but be nice. If she asks you for something and you have do for her. If you don’t have tell her straight. If you need help. Ask her too.

Know your worth and let your actions tell her that and you also value yourself. Let your word be your word. Don’t act weak. Don’t boss her around. Respect her decisions.

Be yourself. Don’t act like dangote pikin, humble yourself. She will fall in love with you. Don’t be an asshole and start playing around.

Keep the excitement in your relationship. Hope this helps ?

Nairaland / General / 2018 UTME: JAMB To Start Sales Of Forms November;bans Pens, Wristwatches In Cent by youngdav(m): 11:27am On Nov 09, 2017
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, organisers of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, has banned the use of wrist watches and pens during the conduct of its 2018 test.
The board’s Registrar, Is’haq Oloyede disclosed this to journalists on the sideline of a one-day sensitisation workshop for Computer Based Test, CBT, centre owners on Wednesday in Lagos.

According to him, the essence of the workshop is to appraise the registration and conduct of the 2017 examination.

“What we are doing here today is to appraise the registration and conduct of our past examination and we have taken some lessons from our experience.

“To this end therefore we have introduced some measures that will further add to the integrity of the registration process as well as the conduct of the examination proper.

“For instance, we discovered during the conduct of the last examination that some electronic devices such as pens, wristwatches and other devices were used to perpetrate examination malpractice.

“So, for next year, we have banned the use of wristwatches and pens by candidates and other persons in the examination hall.

“We are also going to introduce some detection devices to ensure that those who plan to cheat in the examination hall are frustrated, as we will also jam (communication network) of the centres,” he said.

Mr. Oloyede noted that the sale of the registration document for the 2018 UTME would commence before the end of November.

“We are planning to meet with all stakeholders on November 15 and the sale of the registration document will definitely commence before the end of this month.

“But before that, we expect candidates to go and download our app, go to our website and download the syllabus and brochure, so that they can now study the process.

“This is in order to minimise the errors that usually occurs during the registration process,” he said.

The JAMB boss added that not less than 617 centres have been accredited nationwide for the exercise.

“We are still considering about 60 more centres as we have their applications waiting for consideration.

“However, a total of 72 centres nationwide have earlier been delisted owing to their involvement in some infractions and they remain delisted.”

On the board’s plan to construct mega CBT centres for its examinations, Mr. Oloyede said: “The mega centre plan is still on, we said that last year.

“But the process of planning will take some time.

“There will be design, there will be contact with private operators, just as there will be advertisements and also due process will be followed,” he said.

Earlier, Mr. Oloyede called for the support of the CBT centre owners in checking anti-examination activities capable of compromising the examination.

“While thanking you for your diligence during the 2017 examination, we want to seize this opportunity to inform you of the flagging off of the 2018 exercise.

“We will like to also assure you that we will make use of the best CBT centres in the coming examination.

“You will be culpable if you do not expose any CBT centre that is doing what is evil because they will attract condemnation from all of us.

“It is on this premise that we are appealing that you assist us in identifying the bad eggs among you and ensuring that they do not participate in our activities,” he said.

According to him, monitoring starts from the time of arrival of the centre owners to the workshop.

He added that during the 2018 UTME examination, the board would include some other requirements for CBT centres.

“We are not going to accept wireless CCTV cameras. Any examination conducted in any CBT centre that we cannot monitor from Abuja will not be paid for.

“The onus is on you to ensure that your CCTV are working and must be on and no CBT centre is allowed to sell any kind of materials under the guise of past questions.

“We will also not tolerate candidates leaving the centre to go out to use the toilet. It is expected that all accredited CBT centres have an in-house convenience,” Mr. Oloyede said.

Nairaland / General / Nnamdi Kanu Took Advantage Of My Husband’s Absence by youngdav(m): 10:35pm On Oct 09, 2017
While speaking at the presidential villa in Abuja on Monday, wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, stated that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, gained grounds while her husband was receiving medical attention in London.
According to TheCable, the President’s wife said the absence of Buhari who spent over 100 days treating an undisclosed ailment in the UK, during which Nnamdi Kanu addressed thousands of his supporters, vowing to ensure the realisation of Biafra, created a setback for the federal government.

She said; “As a result of the president spending several months outside Nigeria, a 40-year-old man who was still living in his father’s house created a state out of a state and that is a major set back for the country and the health sector did not benefit.”

Nairaland / General / “don’t Drop Out Of School To Fulfill Your Dreams” – Olamide Advises by youngdav(m): 7:38am On Sep 04, 2017
Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji who at the moment has been making all clubs and parties bang with his “WO” song, has advised young ones not to drop out of school to fulfill their dreams.

According to Olamide he was lucky to have fulfilled his own dream despite dropping out of school, but they might not be that lucky.

He however assured that, if only his parents were able to pay his school fees back then, he would have stayed to be a graduate today.

Speaking to Sunday Scoop, Olamide said;

“I was lucky to achieve my dreams despite dropping out of school. I left the university because my parents were not able to pay my tuition fees; as such, leaving school wasn’t of my own making.

If there was money, I definitely would have remained in school. You don’t have to drop out of school to fulfill your dreams.

However, if due to one reason or the other, you are unable to complete your education, you should also know that you can still succeed regardless.”

Nairaland / General / [A Must Read] Five Reasons Why Nigerians Might Vote APC In 2019 by youngdav(m): 3:08pm On Aug 24, 2017
In 2015, Nigerians decided to say no to a government of oppression, depression and a leader who was incompetent.

16 years of misrule, maladministration and a fraudulent government, it was like the PDP charm had expired and the leaders were on a frantic mission to renew its efficacy.

The opposition party had been gaining popularity ratings, several PDP stalwarts were leaving the fold and embracing the change agenda. Their campaign promises worked like magic in the minds of people.

It was like a revolution. Almost all the streets were filled with billboards of Osinbajo and Buhari smiling in them. Promises of 5,000 naira as social security, employment opportunities, and improved electricity generation all amounting to an improved future living for Nigerians.

PDP was running, not helter-skelter though but in a zigzag direction. Several leaders left the party, some of the state party leaders were not together, the umbrella has been penetrated by rain drops. All these culminated in PDP’s loss in the 2015 elections.

However, the kind of change which we all voted for in 2015 hasn’t arrived yet. We’ve ran out of impatience, we are fed up, the suffering has become more intense.

The rich keeps enjoying, driving posh cars, eating nutritious meals, spending money lavishly while the poor is in a state of recluse, just like a dilapidated building. Even as 2019 general elections looms in less than two years, these are reasons why Nigerians might vote APC;

1. PDP Is Still Power Lustful

PDP, the main opposition party is hungry for power, seeking for it in every state. They are obsessed with it yet the party still has two factions.

Even already, the party has started making plans for 2019, holding closed door meetings with stakeholders.

However, it seems Nigerians won’t be fooled this time around, the damage done by the party in their 16 years of misrule is enough to even vote KOWA in 2019.

2. We’ve Started Seeing Changes

Already, APC has started fulfilling its campaign promises.

From the 5,000 naira social security to the employment generation(N-Power), the country seems to be stable again.

3. APC Needs To Be Given Time

Several infrastructural projects put in place in strategic states are ongoing and it might take beyond 2019 before they are completed.

This might compel the average Nigerian to vote for them in 2019.

4. More Money Needs To Be Recovered

Remember the colossal amount of money recovered in those Lekki apartments? What about those ministers who are been probed currently for misappropriation of funds?

Some have them are still undergoing investigation and if PDP is to be voted in, it might use the EFCC to witch-hunt the Buhari-led administration and also terminate all money repatriation process.

5. 16 Years Of Agony

Every Nigerian would remember those years as a period of doom. Our oil reserves went down, the excess crude account started blinking “battery low”, every Nigerian remembers this and it might take years to wipe away these sad memories.

Nairaland / General / Where N-power Physical Verification/screening Will Take Place by youngdav(m): 9:18pm On Aug 21, 2017
N-power next stage after online assessment test is short-listing of the successful applicants, followed by deployment to state/local government of residence. After deployment comes the verification. So what is N-power verification and where will it take place?

You have done your N-power test and you are looking forward to the list. While wishing you the best, you should get clue to what comes after that.

According to N-pwer support team, here are the processes for this year N-power engagement:
1. Application
2. BVN Validation
3. Test
4. Device Selection
5. Pre-selection
6. Physical verification
7. Selection
8. Deployment

By now, you had written your test and chosen your device, hence it’s time to proceed to Pre-selection and others.

It is not clear yet, what N-power intends to do with pre-selection but I assume this stage may not be something significant that, N-power may skip it or join it with other stages after. This stage is more or less short-listing stage.

From experience we know about physical verification, selection and deployment. And below is what you should know about the two stages ahead.

Verification
After short-listing comes verification. And this is the physical checking of the credentials of the shortlisted applicants. The N-power team under each state will check all your academic credentials for the category you applied for. This doesn’t mean your course has to match with catgory you applied for. It means you must be a graduate (NCE, ND, HND, Bsc, MA, LLB, NABTEB) to take part and you must credential backing for what you claimed.

Deployment
N-power will after the verification, instruct all successful candidates to visit their state of residence and the claimed local government for placement. These applicants will report and be placed to sectors they applied for i.e Health, Agro or Teach.

Meanwhile, N-TAX is different. The successful applicants under TAX will be called for interview at Ministry of Finance Abuja. After which they will be placed for work.

Nairaland / General / I Never Said I Will Commit Suicide If Buhari Returns Alive – Fayose by youngdav(m): 9:07pm On Aug 21, 2017
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has denied ever saying he would commit suicide if President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria arrive.

Mr. Buhari returned from London, Saturday, where he had been on medical vacation for over 100 days.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Idowu Adelusi, told PREMIUM TIMES on Monday that the statement was a “creation of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.”

“Mr. Fayose never said he would commit suicide if the President returns to the country,” he insisted.

“It is the creation of the APC. It is their style to create such falsehood.”

He said, instead, the governor had wished the president well and had joined others in praying for him.

While celebrating the arrival of Mr. President at a rally in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, the APC highlighted the alleged vow by Mr. Fayose to commit suicide if the President returned to the country.

ELEGANCE NIGERIA recalls that the “I will commit suicide” statement credited to Mr. Fayose, made the rounds in the social media on July 22, but was vehemently denied by the governor.
The governor, a vocal critic of the president and his party, the APC, was quoted as saying, “I will commit suicide if Buhari comes back alive.”

Mr. Fayose’s media aides had blamed the rumour on the handiwork of the Buhari propaganda machinery.

Mr. Fayose’s Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, had in his reaction, same day the quote emerged, debunked the statement.

“Kindly disregard this statement, as it did not emanate from Governor Fayose,” he had said.

“It is their usual way of shifting the people’s attention from the real question Nigerians are asking, as to the whereabouts of the President. At no time was such statement made by the governor.”

Nairaland / General / BREAKING NEWS!! ASUU Commences Review Of Referendum To Go On Strike by youngdav(m): 6:47pm On Aug 12, 2017
The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) commenced a crucial meeting Friday evening.

The meeting, taking place at the University of Abuja, will among others determine if the lecturers will proceed on a nationwide strike or not.

The final decision on the strike will be made at the end of the meeting on Sunday after the referendum conducted by the chapters must have been reviewed

ASUU had asked all its branches in the various universities to conduct referendum of members to decide whether or not a nationwide strike should be held over its demands.

The decision to conduct the referendum was part of the resolutions made at the last National Executive Council meeting of the union held in July at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nassarawa state.

The lecturers’ major demands from the federal government that necessitated the referendum include issues concerning the welfare of members as well as funding of universities.

The union is also demanding that government ensures the release of University of Maiduguri lecturers kidnapped by Boko Haram.

Nairaland / General / Blogging Is A More Lucrative Job Than Banking – Laila Ijeoma, CEO, Lailasblog by youngdav(m): 6:04pm On Aug 12, 2017
Laila Ijeoma, CEO, LailasBlog.com was Recently Interviewed By One of Nigerias Top Leading News Paper, Bulletin.Com.Ng Gathered that the Vetran Blogger Has also been interviewed by PUNCH, NigerianTribune AND ALSO with Ebuka Uchendu on ChannelsTV Rubbin Minds, Here is what she said Below!

My interview with Vanguard, guys. In it, I talked about how I quit banking, which I did for 10 years, for full-time blogging – craziest, most daring decision I ever made in my life. Enjoy the excerpts below.

In the Nigerian blogosphere, Laila Ijeoma commands a lot of respect, not just because she owns www.LailasBlog.com; an entertainment website that reports trending Nigerian news read by millions monthly.
On June 30, 2016, Laila took a bold step of abandoning her over N5million per annum bank job to become a full time entertainment blogger; risking everything to take a gamble on her passion.
She traded her lucrative job to pursue what was still at that time, just a hobby she was passionate about, but today, the decision has become one of her best turning points.
In a chat with Vanguard Saturday Woman, she says she has no regrets a year after taking this huge leap of faith as she now has all the time to focus on her family and continue to grow her blog even bigger.
Why did you dump your bank job for fulltime blogging?
I started blogging as a joke in 2012; I wasn’t looking for money because I was already gainfully employed at that time. All I wanted was an outlet to share my life with Nigerians, inspire them with my stories. So I started a Facebook group called, ‘True love for my man’- that should be around 2010. That was the first social media account I used to gather people together and we chatted about love and heartbreak.
My big dream had always been to have a top Nigerian talk show, so I later started a show on radio. I eventually had to put it on hold because it was so demanding. Being married, a mum to 3 boys, working at the bank, there was a lot to do in just 24 hours every day and the whole schedule nearly ‘killed’ me, so I had to drop the radio show.
Along the line, I discovered blogging through a colleague at the bank where I worked; he owned a blog, after he introduced me to it that fateful day, I got hooked. I realized I could reach out to people through it with much less stress compared to a radio show. I told him I would love to have mine and he helped me set it up. I didn’t even take it serious then.
But as I kept on sharing stories, and I read comments from my audience, I knew this was what I was born to do. I have always been a science student in school, I knew nothing about blogging, and I had zero celebrity friends, zero celebrity sources for my stories but I didn’t let that stop me.
How difficult was it juggling being a banker, blogger, wife and mother of three boys?
It was a crazy, hectic schedule! On a daily basis, I wake up 4am; go to bed sometimes 12 midnight. And the next day, I still have to go to work. No excuses. I was able to run my life like that for four years because I was purely fuelled by passion. I just love blogging, there’s this irreplaceable, beautiful joy it brings me. As with every new venture, the beginning is usually slow.
How long did it take for your traffic to skyrocket?
It took about 6 months after I made the first post on my blog for my traffic to start skyrocketing.
Did the traffic immediately translate to money for you?
No it didn’t. My traffic didn’t translate to so much money till 2014. That was the year this particular company contacted me and ran an advert with me that lasted for a full year and changed my life.
Would you say blogging is lucrative in Nigeria?
As long as you are a passionate blogger, as long as you are in blogging because you enjoy what you are doing, as long as your blog, its concept, its contents are original, not a rip off of another blogger’s website; blogging is the best thing that can ever happen to you.
The rewards will blow your mind! It’s already an open secret that blogging can make you a billionaire. You get lots of free stuff from brands too. People just call you up. They want to advertise on your website and they are handing out their products and services to you for free so you can review them and share with your readers.
Then you have the best reward; you are recognised as a voice that can start a change. You are respected. People want to read what you have to say about a situation. Readers are so addicted to your blog that they wake up in the morning and can’t wait to read what is on Laila’s Blog today. As a blogger, you can comfortably work from home in your pyjamas.
So you prefer blogging to banking?
I did banking for 10 years in one of the best banks in Nigeria and I enjoyed it. But I wasn’t self-fulfilled, I wanted more. Again, I was already blogging for over 3 years alongside my day job. Truth is as time went on, it became harder running my blog, bank job, family and taking care of myself efficiently.
I wanted to wake up in the morning to the joy of knowing that all I had to do for that day was write about the trending stories in Nigeria and not miss any story just because it happened while I was offline. I also wanted to spend more time with my very supportive husband and children every day.
How would you compare your income now to when you were a banker?
It has been tremendously rewarding, spiritually, family-wise, and financially. You know with a steady day job, you don’t have to worry about getting your paycheck at the end of the month. There are days I worry- what if I don’t make money this month? That was why before I quit my bank job, I made sure I saved up my salary and had at least 6 months’ salary set aside. I actually had a full year salary saved up before I made the leap and resigned.
If you don’t plan properly, things can actually go wrong and your dreams won’t come out the way you planned them; you will fail and life will become miserable. I’m so glad I conquered my fears of what if something goes wrong and took the leap.
My friends, family, parents thought I was crazy when I first mentioned it. But after they saw I wasn’t going to quit blogging and that I had prepared for the worst; they rallied round and supported my decision to leave banking. Having them behind me made me stronger and I left.
Any regrets so far?
None whatsoever; my income tripled. My kids wake up in the morning they see mummy. Mummy takes them to school, mum brings them back, mum tucks them into bed every night, mummy helps them with their school assignments, things I couldn’t do before.
I love what I do now and it gives me so much joy. I just miss my former colleagues once in a while.
What are the challenges you face as a blogger, especially those peculiar to the Nigerian blogosphere?
My biggest challenge is internet network; there are times I wake up to blog and I discover my internet isn’t as fast as I need it to be. Sometimes, it’s entirely down so I can’t even blog.
Second challenge is power; a laptop is to a blogger what the Bible is to a Pastor. Laptops can only work if they are charged. Because I am online at least 18 hours daily, I spend a lot on fuel for generators.
What stands you out from other bloggers?
You can be very sure that out of the over 50 stories you read on Laila’s blog in a day, at least 50% are our original stories. Again, we deliver stories as they are happening. You will read breaking news, trending stories first on Laila’s blog before they appear on other websites.
In your estimation, what’s the future of blogging in Nigeria in the next five years?
With a computer today, anybody can build a global business from his/her bedroom, with a bit of creativity and sheer determination. Every day, we have over a hundred new bloggers coming online. Vlogging is now a huge thing!
Five years from now, I see more younger people doing big things, conquering boundaries, becoming millionaires through blogging in Nigeria.
I also see blogging in Nigeria becoming more professional. I am a registered member of this CAC registered bloggers’ association called The Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria.
Aside blogging, any future plans?
I have this huge passion for taking care of orphans and vulnerable children, kids under the age of 18 years who are at high risk of lacking adequate care and protection. Right now I have 10 under my care, children my husband and I take care of. We have plans of taking that number up a notch.
Any tips for upcoming bloggers who look up to you?
One Mr. Mohammed Mustafa Ahmedzai once said ‘The easiest job on earth is starting a blog but the toughest job is maintaining it.” And this is simply because patience matters in blogging, and most upcoming bloggers don’t have that!
Experienced bloggers will tell you that you should only start to think about making money from your blog at least after 6 months of blogging. But every day, I get emails from new bloggers with 1-2 month old blogs asking you how to apply for Adsense.
These new bloggers apply for AdSense and most times, they are rejected and you see them quit blogging. From the day anybody starts blogging till the day he/she ends her blogging career, there are lots of problems you’ll face. Solving these problems and moving ahead is not easy as it sounds! And that’s another reason upcoming bloggers quit blogging easily.
So my first tip for them will be to have patience. Without it, their eyes shall not see the billions blogging can drop in their bank accounts. If your main reason for blogging is money and you have no patience for earning it, then you’re not going to earn from blogging at all!
What’s your biggest wish in life?
I wish to make the world a better place by saving abused and vulnerable children and making sure their oppressors get severely punished for their wickedness. Source:http://www.eleganceng.com/2017/08/blogging-lucrative-job-banking-laila-ijeoma-ceo-lailasblog/
Health / 6 Tips That Will Make Your Pimples Clear Very Fast by youngdav(m): 5:48pm On Aug 10, 2017
Everyone who has pimples just wants one thing, for them to go away and leave a fresh, smooth skin just like that of FitnessDoctor. But you have to understand that when you are trying to get rid of pimples you must follow practices which will not only make pimples go away but stay away.

I remember how the big bumps killed my confidence and made me think less of myself. I could imagine looking into someone’s eyes and seeing my face filled with them.

What I am sharing here is what I experienced when trying to get rid of pimples and how everything changed when I started doing the right thing and till today, I don’t worry about pimples. Although I have removed one of my biggest tricks to help smoothen my face (it is for my subscribers only).

So here are 7 tips that will make your pimples clear very fast

First you need to understand. Pimples are normal if you are a teenager and will keep coming and coming.. The solutions I am going to give you is going to reduce them, and eventually help scars fade away, but you have to follow everything I say..

1. BATHING
Bathing is one of the most important, you have to be careful the way you bathe your face..

Start bathing twice or thrice a day. When bathing in the morning, be careful the way you rub the sponge on your face. Do it carefully, but remember to scrub. When bathing at night, use only soap instead, don’t ever use sponge. Try bathing one hour before bedtime and always sleep before 12.

2. FOOD
Foods like Margarine (butter), groundnut, chips and other foods can make increase your chances of getting pimples. The main reason is that these foods contain a certain kind of acid which increases the chances of an inflammation happening on your skin.

Better stay away from these foods or consume more foods containing omega-3 fatty acids like fish to balance your consumption of Butter, groundnut etc which contain omega-6 fatty acids.

3. HANDS
Never use your hands to touch your face, and never scratch the pimples, never burst them with your fingers or pinch them. When the pimples are ripe and ready for bursting, use the sharp end of a broom stick or needle to poke at it and gently press the pus away, don’t press too hard or it will turn into a scar..

4. SUN, STRESS AND SPERM
Stay away from the sun and try to reduce stress. I noticed that these two things cause an outbreak of pimples on my face and most especially the sun.

Try not to have sex or any activity that will make you release sperm, it might sound weird, but the release of sperm can lead to more pimples especially in teenagers.

5. WATER
Drink enough water to leave your skin fresh and radiant, also water helps cool down your body. Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water everyday. This is a very important tip that I FitnessDoctor follow up till today.

6. CREAM
Watch your cream, in my case a cream lead to my pimples, and I stopped using it.. But everything changed when I went back to using that same cream. It might be different for you, so I advice you check the cream you are using at the moment and look for the one which is best for your skin.

I advice you go for a cream which is hydroquinone free.

Try them out and check back how your face will look like within two weeks, although there were two products I mixed that helped me clear the very dark spots I noticed that they couldn’t keep the pimples away until I started following all these 6 tips.

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has said it would be tough for Chelsea to defend their Premier League title this season.

Wenger expects the league’s elite teams to be stronger after the summer transfer market and sees the Blues dropping more points.

“But will they make as many points? I don’t know.

“You could expect that some teams will be stronger as well and take points from them,” the Frenchman said.

Wenger will lead his side out against Antonio Conte’s men on Sunday, as the season begins with the Community Shield.

Nairaland / General / Why Men Should Stop Sucking Wives’ Breast, Leave For Children – Health Expert by youngdav(m): 2:11pm On Aug 05, 2017
A Ugandan Ministry of Health boss, Samalie Namukose has warned men against sucking their wives’ breast.

Namukose said the breasts should be left for babies alone.

Namukose, who is principal nutritionist at the ministry, said she was shocked to learn that some cultures believe that the breasts belong to men, therefore do not give babies the chance to enjoy breastfeeding.

She says although exclusive breastfeeding is essential for babies in the first six months, many men are often uncomfortable with it and compete with the babies for the breast.

Namukose spoke during a meeting for cultural leaders organised by the Ministry of Health in commemoration of the World Breastfeeding week marked annually between August 1 and 7.

She said, “In some health facilities I visited, many women had wounds on their breasts and when I asked what caused this, they said the men demand for breasts and cause those wounds. This is very serious and must stop.”

Namukose said children who are not breastfed often fall sick, or even die, do not grow to their full potential and lag behind in school.

Nairaland / General / ‘stop Eating Suya, Boli, They Cause Cancer’- Experts Warn by youngdav(m): 10:22pm On Jul 30, 2017
Nigerians have been warned against consumption of ‘suya and boli’.

The President, Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Nigeria President, Prof Musa Borodo, gave this warning at a press briefing commemorating the 10th Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of the association in Ado Ekiti.

Borodo warned that diseases such as colorectal cancer, liver cancer, helicobacter pyloris and other infections that occur in the gastrointestinal tract were usually not easy to detect when looking out for signs and symptoms.

He added that when the symptoms were obvious, they were often too late to treat.

According to him, about 10 percent of people in Nigeria are suffering from Hepatitis B – a viral infection – which he warned could lead to cancer, if not properly treated.

“This (Hepatitis B) is something that can be prevented, if you don’t treat it, it could become cancer. So, it is a huge problem,” he said.

Speaking on the theme, “Gastrointestinal Malignancies in Africa: Past, Present and Future,” Borodo said it was chosen to create awareness on early detection of cancer, prevention and cure.

“The forum is to increase knowledge, expertise and foremost research of interests in diseases affecting alimentary canal,” he added.

Borodo lamented that two cases of cancer at end stage are reported daily in the treatment centre.

He advised people to take natural foods, avoid refined sugar, eat well, exercise regularly, drink clean water, visit hospitals for routine check up and stay away from smoking to avoid cancer, saying, “taking burnt boli (plantain), burnt suya and refined drinks as they could cause cancer

On his part, the Consultant General Surgeon, Lagos State University, Teaching Hospital, Dr. Mobolaji Oludara, lamented the rot of equipment, training and materials in handling liver transplant in Nigeria.

Politics / 2019 Presidency: OBJ Endorses David Mark, Says He Remains The Best Candidate by youngdav(m): 9:33pm On Jul 30, 2017
Chief Obasanjo, who landed at the VIP wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja where he was accosted by journalists to sample his opinions about the country and 2019 elections, says he has confident in the ability of Sen. Mark, to stabilize the country if Nigerians could entrust their mandates with him.

Obasanjo who described David Mark, as one of the intelligent politician so far, noted that the like of Sen. Mark, are very few in the country, hence the need to tap from his experience. Chief Obasanjo, said he is no longer a politician but can support any formidable and eligible candidate that has the requisite experience that will address the numerous challenges confronting the the already comatose country.

What is unclear is whether chief Obasanjo will return to PDP to play active role again to ensure that David mark win the party’s ticket, recall that it was reported when ex-President Obasanjo publicly tore his PDP membership which marked his exit from the party.

Chief Obasanjo’s support for David Mark may simply hint Nigerians about the new permutation and scheming ongoing on the background by the so called landlords of the country which may mean that they have stopped their support for this current administration.

He however called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the fast recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that prayer remain the only alternative solution to the health of the ailing President.
