No fear on that.they are just the weakers ones overpowered by the fast growing ones......if you have extra pond or tanks....separate them and feed them with their right feed size with good quality.they are surely going to bounce back if they are not runts.

Zambux:
How do I start a fish farming business with a little capital
Hello, the words "little capital" is relative, you could see #100k as little while some else sees it as not little and some other person is considering #2M as little to start with....The truth is commercial catfish farming in" a little" way should be in the range of 500-1000pcs of juveniles for a beginner with a projection of #300/#350fish to table size with the current high price of feeds. This excludes the space for ponds either as concretes or otherwise, water and its distributions, pond management and farm facilities....I'm sure there are lots of materials to guide you on this online and offline.... Best of luck.

@Tejohwo...I'm very excited when I see newbie coming into farming but sad when they end up not taken to genuine counsel. Below is a picture of some group of young aspiring agropreneurs. Unfortunately, I'm based in Lagos but hopefully developing a network across Nigeria to guide and assist aspiring agropreneurs.
First, you don't have to start with the whole money...
Secondly, visit a reliable and functioning farm....
Third, garner few practical experience from experienced farmer even if you have to pay....it pays to PAY for knowledge.
Fourth, start small as a pilot scheme cos their are lot to learn....
For free mentorship, chat me up on whatsapp 08077523538.
Good luck.

Pioneering Ambassadors at a members farm.
History has it that Nigeria was enriched through her dependency on vast agro produce ranging from cocoa to groundnuts, palm kernel to plantain, coconut to honey and many more. Different species of fishes, land and water crabs...unimaginable.

Today, that once cherished sector has been relegated to suffer decay and rotteness. Everyone seems not to want to identify with agriculture now that there was stress free and dignify oil money flowing around. Unfortunately, reality began to set in as oil globally started dwindling at the international market. Companys and government downsizing to meet up with daily running cost and to stay and be relevant in business.

Job and food insecurity becomes the greatest fear of graduates and government respectively. Economic diversification becomes pertinent in the heart of the government of the day with different project to alleviate the economic impact on the citizenry. Unfortunately, many factors hinders the actualisation and sustainability of such programmes.

Consequently, having knowledge of the many factors militating against the growth and development of agriculture, interested persons are hereby invited to join the train toredefining agribusiness simply by indicating your whatsapp contact for ACTION PLANS[/quote]
