The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, warns the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) against indiscriminate searching of mobile phones and laptops of innocent citizens.

Amaechi Elumelu, the National Coordinator of X-Squad, at the Anambra State Police Command Headquarters, during a lecture to officers of FSARS, addressed them on behalf of the IGP, said:

“You’re barred from searching handsets and laptops of innocent citizens, unless the search is directly linked to a case or directed by IGP or any person or persons he so delegated.

“Forthwith, any FSARS officer who detains any suspect beyond 48 hours without recourse to the court risks dismissal.

The Cross Rivers state Police command have arrested a 27-year-old man, Mr Daniel Bassey, and his wife, Magdalene, for selling their two-year-old son for N180,000 to an agent in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Nigerian popular singer and song writer, Davido, who recently registered for the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, is allegedly said to break the NYSC bye-law.

The singer reported to the NYSC orientation camp at Iyana-Ipaja to complete his registration, on Thursday, which he was confirmed to have left the camp after the registration process hours later to Boston for his ‘Locked Up’ tour of the United States of America.

But, all NYSC members are expected to be on ground at the camp during the three weeks’ orientation course, with some exceptions to health and marital issues.



The NYSC Bye-laws revised in 1993 give strict rules for corps members during the orientation period.

Djinee involve in a ghastly car accident.


Nigerian Singer and song writer, Djinee is presently recuperating from injuries sustained after being involved in a ghastly car crash in Lekki.

The accident happened yesterday, Monday, August 27, 2018, in the Lekki axis of Lagos Island.

According to movie director, Abinibi who posted a video and photos from the accident scene on his Instagram page, he is presently receiving treatment and recovering at a hospital that is feared to be disclosed.

The man identified as Alhaji Auwalu was reportedly stabbed in the throat by thieves who tried to rob him. The nail pierced one side of his throat and came out of the other side.

He urged the Federal Government to launch a thorough investigation into the operation in Borno to “detect the corruption and atrocities involved and bring to book all the perpetrators”.

A man identified as Mr. Bolade Yusuff Aileru by the National Identity card found on him has been assassinated by unknown gun men along Lagos-Ibadan express way.

The 44 years old man was assassinated along Lagos Ibadan express way on 13th of August 2018.
An eye witness told our newsmen he heard the assailants asking him about a memory stick containing a secret video which he responded that his wife has it but can not disclose the where-about of his wife. He was then shot about 10 times and then put in the trunk of his car.

According to Fred Agata, it was later gathered that his house and the shop of the wife was broken into and turned upside down by unknown people on the night of the incident.

All efforts made to contact the friends and family members of the deceased to discuss the incident proved abortive as none of them wants to comment about it.

Senator representing the Akwa Ibom North-East District at the National Asssembly, Obong Bassey Albert (OBA), has alleged that the charges placed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a ploy to force him to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had filed a 14-count charge, accusing Senator Bassey Albert of receiving 12 cars worth N254m between 2010 and 2014, while serving as the Finance Commissioner during the administration of Godswill Akpabio in Akwa Ibom State, as bribes from one Olajide Omokore.

Senator Bassey Albert, while addressing a media event, said Akpabio should be held accountable for whatever happened.

A Nigerian man was stabbed to death by his girlfriend’s ex, who is also a Nigerian, in Katy, Texas.



Godson Akran, 38, is in custody after he stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, on Thursday morning, in front of her three children. Authorities identified the dead man as 43-year-old Taofeek. He was stabbed to death at about 4:30 a.m in front of the woman and her three children, all who are younger than 13.

It has been reported that a 5 members of a family are found dead in Igboh Community in Etche local government Council area of Rivers state.

According to PM News, neighbours aforesaid they died of suffocation from the fumes they inhaled from their generating set.

Eyewitnesses told our PM News that they unbroken their generating set in their toilet on monday night till dawn.

Concerned neighbours who failed to see them wake up early tuesday morning were curious and when many calls on them and no response from the apartment, they forced the entrance door open, only to search out them dead.

Their lifeless bodies were later deposited in a building at Umuebulu in Etche amidst wailing by friends and neighbours to the deceased family members.

Lagos State has been ranked the third worst city for humans to live in the world.
This was released in the latest 2018 Global Liveability Index released by The Economist Intelligence Unit and World Bank.
Lagos ranked 138 out of the 140 cities considered for the ranking.

According to the ranking, Lagos only outperformed Dhaka in Bangladesh and Damascus in war-torn Syria.

Out of an overall score of 100, Lagos was rated 38.5 points.

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Secretariat on Tuesday said governors of the 36 states have collectively spent more than N2 trillion in augmenting police operations nationwide in the last decade alone.

Mr Abdulrazaque Barkindo, Head, Media and Public Affairs, who made this known in Abuja, said the amount, was outside the contributions of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe states, hitherto referred to as the frontline states and critical flashpoints at the peak of the war against insurgency in the country.

He said that the revelation was part of a research conducted by the media department of the NGF monthly magazine “The Executive Summary” July edition.


He added that the purchases by the governors have covered such items as Hilux trucks, Armoured Personnel carriers, Helicopters, River Gun Boats, Horses, Communication equipment, uniforms and handcuffs among others.
