tunjijones:Well said. Some Nigerians have mastered the art of projecting the envy, bitterness and extreme frustration going on in their personal lives into an avenue for watering down the achievements of anyone doing better than them in life at every opportunity they get. If it has to do with the same science, it is the same set of never do well people who will rush to the thread to water down the achievements of those making an effort in their own little way. Take for instance the thread exhibiting a Northern young guy who just invented an eye glass for preventing unnecessary sleep that can lead to accidents for night drivers. One mofo who has never put together a bathroom slippers or toothpick before took to the thread to say that A.I can teach anyone how to create such a special glass. I asked him how many inventions he has gifted the world through A.I. He had no answers like the guy you asked the same question. All their own is to be rubbishing the achievements of others without the creation of any notable value of their own for the world. If this is not is witchcraft, I don't know what it is. |
ravensckar:Do you have a coaching licence and have you ever coached any team before even if it is a secondary school team? Please do not be offended. There is a reason I am asking this important question. And another question I have is that, have you ever given it a thought why most ex-footballers or football analysts/commentators are often very brilliant as pundits analysing the game on TV from sport studios like Supersport until they are given a real team to manage on the real field? Oliseh is a good case study of this sweet mouth analysis phenomenon when he used to be referred to as the Guardiola of Africa as a pundit on Supersport until he was given the Super Eagles job. |
netzro:This is what I was just telling the dude.. The fact that he thinks he can get any solution to any problem in the world on Chat GPT shows how low his cerebral capacity is. It is just like typing "how to build a bicycle from scratch." Chat GPT will definitely provide many funny suggestions.. The big question is, he fit run am? Very dumb move. |
ZUBY77:Some Nairalanders are always talking down on the efforts of others making an attempt to make their world a better place in their own little way. Your case is like someone typing "teach me how to swim" on Chat GPT and running away with the "new knowledge" to go and test run it inside the water instead of getting a practical on-hands training from an expert.. If you don't get drowned, I would like to know why.. So you think because something is supposedly on Chat GPT means you will be able to combine all the gadgets and make it a success like the young man.. So how many inventions have you produced through the help of Chat GPT if it was that easy? And trust me, the fact that something is on Chat GPT doesn't make it entirely true especially if it has to do with a deep technical knowledge.. There is hardly nothing you will type on Chat GPT that it won't attempt to scour through the internet to search for supposed answers even if they do not make any sense at all. Things one get to read on Nairaland on a daily basis. |
Love800:If it was "meaningless innovations" like you put it, a corporate brand like Gino won't have keyed in into her vision. Imagine a global brand like Guinness World Records mentioning Gino alongside Hilda during the recognition of the feat. Do you know the multiplier effect of that global recognition on the Gino brand? It goes beyond cooking or breaking of whatever records, it is about brand positioning and visibility for Hilda. Trust me, her influencing fees just went up. Watch more big corporate brands try to outdo themselves more than before just to get her on board to advertise their brands to the world because she is currently getting all the attention. And money flows where attention goes.. And most importantly, in today's world, attention is the new money-printing currency. If you still think this globally-recognised feat of hers is a meaningless innovation, then the joke is on you. That means you do not understand anything about how the business world works. She is already positioning herself to solve brand visibility challenges for corporate bodies interested in partnering with her in the future. There are other zillion challenges in the world. Pick one too. Provide an "inventing and innovative" solutions for them and place yourself on the global map instead of whining endlessly about someone making an effort. The bitter complaints would have been justifiable if you were able to reel out all the meaningful innovations you have gifted the world to Naptu2 instead of running away. |
aswani:I believe the Ndigbo community needs to embark on an emergency value re-orientation programme and campaign against this "getting rich at all cost irrespective of the means mentality" which is deeply responsible for this embarrassing menace. However, I agree with you that these boys who are always getting caught are just mere mules in the game. For every mule caught, there are hundreds of mules on the queue begging the real dons chilling in palatial mansions back home to be given a chance to transport the product. If the Indian authorities are serious about curbing this menace, they need adopt the FBI deep investigative approach even if it involves working with interpol to nab the main producers and distributors of the drugs.. All this frequent nabbing of mules consisting majorly of struggling Igbo boys trying to feed and possibly make fast money will never change a thing. They are inconsequential in the scheme of events. |
Hellisreal70:On the contrary, Oyotunji(which literally means the revival of Oyo kingdom) was founded from scratch by the descendants of freed Yoruba slaves who were forcefully taken to America before there was anything like Nigeria during the trans-atlantic slave trade era. What this means is that they are pure natives and indigenes of the created village from scratch and not just immigrants like the other examples in your statement. With time, other Africans who love the Yoruba culture and vibes began to join them and the village began to expand. And they have the full support and approval of the American government. It is the same indigenous status the likes of Jayz, Nas, Chris Rock and other black Americans have that the Oyotunji village creators also have. Stop comparing apples to oranges. |
Dakosta55:I am Okun Yoruba from Kogi State.. It was earlier this year that I got to find out there is a handful of Indigenous Igbos in Kogi State because I met an Igalla guy bearing Uche. His mannerisms and accent is Igbo. He speaks Igbo and Igalla fluently. He told me he is from a town in Kogi sharing direct border with Enugu... Most of the people from that town(can't remember the exact name now) and neighbouring villages speak Igbo and Igalla.. This is because they have been intermarrying for centuries.. So down the line, they have produced the offsprings who happen to be the hybrid of both cultures similar to what is happening in Akoko Edo.. A town popularly known for its fusion of Akoko(Yoruba) and Edo culture because of shared physical boundary over the years.. Asides that, Kogi is like a mini Nigeria.. It is a state housing the highest amount of indigenous ethnic groups which hardly have anything in common.. The same Kogi is sharing direct borders with the S/West(Ondo/Ekiti),S/East(Enugu),N/Central(Kwara) and Abuja.. Let's learn to be open-minded and develop a research culture instead of immediately believing or rejecting any new claim that is alien to what we have always known or brought up to think.. That's the hallmark of an educated mind. |
nomorespams:Well spoken brother. It is the same way some of our ignorant Yoruba brothers who happen to fall in the S/West think they are more Yoruba than our indigenous kith and kiln in Kogi, Kwara, Benin Republic, Brazil, Cuba et al just because of superficial geographical boundaries. In fact, some of our indigenous Yoruba brothers in Brazil are more rooted in the Yoruba traditional culture and spirituality more than 95% of the ones in the S/West... A lot of them have never missed travelling down for any annual Ifa and Osun Festival in Ife and Osogbo for decades. And they believe they are more Yoruba than these folks representing the deeper aspects of the Yoruba culture in truth and in deeds just because they happen to be carved into an artificial geographical region called the S/West of Nigeria.. What a joke! Ignorance is a serious mental disease everywhere! |
joeyswift:Sarkin Hausawa Lagos means king of the Hausas in Lagos if there is even anything like that. It is not just Sarkin Lagos.. Obi Ndigbo Lagos would have even sounded better.. WTF is Obi of Lagos in a city that has his own king? The creators of that title are just trying to be silly and forment trouble where none existed. I hope they can now rest after they have been put in their rightful place by their rulers at home. |
Shawarmagirl:A lot of you on Nairaland are getting something wrong. Nairaland is not a news site. It is a forum like Reddit, Quora and the likes where members can visit any section of the forum to discuss any topic created by them or fellow members that catches their fancy. And they can also visit the front page to catch up on any topic moved from any of the sections to the front page by the moderator in charge. The topic does not have to be a breaking news. It might even be on an issue that happened 50 or 400 years ago. That is why it is called a forum. If you are only interested in news, CNN, Channels, TVC et al are duly at your service and not forums like Nairaland or Reddit. |
9ja4live:I put it to you that it is a fabricated statement intentionally credited to her by jobless online rabble rousers to give it some sort of credibility.. It is a common mischievous practice online. You can prove me wrong by posting a credible media source and I will swallow my words and apologise because I know the guy who posted the image has no credible source to back it up.. Emphasis on the words "credible media source" because faceless hungry bloggers looking for cheap traffic are aware that most of their dumb audience believe everything they see anywhere online and will never verify the authenticity of the information. |
Dazzay:The Okonjo Iweala I know will not resort to personal attacks like a typical politician as portrayed by the image below your post. Could you please share the link to a verifiable and reliable media source where she made the above strong statement about Soludo and it never made headlines anywhere in the world? |
ednut1:Before you troll greatness, I hope you have already submitted your own application for the patent of the next innovation you are gifting the world. This would ensure that your case won't be like a player who is not even qualified to play for Enyimba of Aba trolling both Messi and Ronaldo for not owning all the clubs they have played in their illustrious career. |
Angelfrost:A big LOL at Westerholf and Bonfrere Jo coaching a modern team in 2025... Nigerians and "good old days" syndrome even though conditions are no longer the same. Apart from Nigeria, name any other team(club or country) that these Dutch duo made a success since they stopped coaching Nigeria? You guys seem to underestimate the level of financial support and every other backing and support you can think of Abacha gave to these 2 coaches... For the first time, a coach can bypass the Glass House and make their demand known to the whole president.. The fact that Nigeria had the hottest Super Eagles(ranked number 5 in the world) during Abacha's era was not a fluke.. I would give more credit to Abacha for the success of the Super Eagles of that era even though he might have failed in every other area. My point is, if the 2 Dutch gaffers were that hot, they would have replicated that success with at least one more team after they left Nigeria.. That is the hallmark of legends like Ancelloti and the likes who are not defined by a flash in the pan glory. |
DrFunmisticGlow:It beats me how some of you on this thread cannot recognise when someone is busy trolling a.k.a catching cruise in Nigerian parlance. The best way to troll a troller is to tell her she is being extremely wasteful for using a whole 5k to cook in a month.. That is the best way to indulge idle trollers.. Two can definitely play the trolling game. I would have ignored the joke of a thread but I had to drop this comment for the sake of those of you who cannot identify a glaring joke whenever you see one and even going to the extent of challenging someone who is obviously trolling. |
galantjoe:She has since lost her seat bro to the current Senator who is Victor Umeh hence why she defected to APC to contest as the running mate to their current gubernatorial candidate.. This is 2025..Always make use of Google to fact check any information before putting it out in the public domain. Aside that, some politicians in different parties have better strategic alliances and working relationships than members of their own party.. An example is BAT and Wike.. Soludo is also another known public ally of BAT and even closer to him than some members of APC.. The last time he visited him in Aso Rock, he was putting on the popular BAT cap to send a message to the APC camp in his state.. So the suggestion of compensating him with ministerial nominees in exchange for working for BAT 2027 pre-election is not far-fetched in Nigeria's brand of politics.. At the end of the day, it is all about selfish interest for the average politician.. Do not be surprised to see BAT, Soludo, Obi and this woman in the same camp someday laughing together and enjoying themselves while you their supporters continue to curse each other out for a people who do not care about your existence.. |
OKOATA:Trust me in a two-horse race between Obi and Jonathan, the only place Obi might beat Jonathan is the S/East... But GEJ would definitely clear the S/West not because he will do better or transformed Nigeria when he had his chance but because of the "good old days" factor when folks compare the cost of living in his time to the present period.. What the man on the street understands is the price of food and common goods in the market and their relative affordability and not useless economic reforms that do not translate into better living conditions for him. He will also clear the North because the Northern elites will surely go all out for him to convince the man on the street to vote for him because he won't spend more than 4 years in Aso Rock constitutionally..Even though this is a very selfish reason.. Politics is all about the protection of self-interest anyway. This is the main reason why they are pushing him to run in 2027 aside the fact that he appears like a pushover to them which they can always manoeuvre to do their bidding. The S/South is a no-brainer. P/S: The analysis above is strictly based on a 2 horse race between an Obi and a Jonathan.. If we add Tinubu and Atiku into the mix, the political permutation above would be rendered null and void. |
brain54:The fact that it is a foreign podcast doesn't automatically make them a reliable source of information.. The way we have dumb Africans is the way same way we have dumb Americans who still think Africa is a country and everyone from there still lives under a tree. There are also hungry foreign platforms that would do everything for traffic like their African counterparts.. So that doesn't in anyway change anything. You should be the one to develop a deep research culture so as to be immune to all these junk media outlets, either local or foreign. If it was a reputable media outlet that would take time to do their research before putting out the information, it would have been a different ball game. |
brain54:In these days of hungry and illiterate bloggers everywhere who can do anything to drive traffic, never believe everything you read and watch on the internet unless it is from a reputable and verifiable media outlet that has everything to lose. We should be the ones who need to develop a research mentality about any information that catches our fancy instead of waiting to be spoonfed. If Eazi whose real name is Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade sounds in anyway Ghanaian to you and whose only affiliation to Ghana is moving there at the age of 16 to further his education also connotes citizenship of Ghana to you, then all the best to you.. |
kayyyy44:I was laughing when I was reading the genuine responses of those replying the mischievous bigot.. I guess some of them are new on Nairaland.. If not, they should be familiar with the antics of crazy guys like that.. Some of them would even go to the extent of creating multiple monikers in the name of the ethnic group they hate with a passion and be claiming to be from there.. But a quick check through all their previous posts would reveal all the hate comments you can find about any ethnicity in the world being made about the people they are impersonating. Aside pure hatred and envy, it is the only way some of them know how to seek attention from others.. They would intentionally make an untrue statement about an ethnic race while the pure intention is to get them angry and sit back to watch their mention button explode. I have been on Nairaland long enough to have seen loads of such trouble-seeking monikers come and go all the time. My advice is, new members should stop falling for such attention-seeking stunts from low lives who probably do not have a life outside of Nairaland. The psychology behind such actions is simple.. The more members ignore them, the more they get tired of dropping such provocative comments.. But when you indulge them, you are adding more fuel to their energy reserve responsible for constituting nuisance all over the forum. Cc:Deepspirituals yomi531 |
Biodun1929:You know him very well. If it was fabricated to discredit him, I trust him to even go to the extent of placing a curse on the culprits. He is that radical. Apart from that, the audio served the purpose of positioning Oyedepo as the Christian circle general public opinion shaper, thought leader and influencer whom is highly revered by the political circle. He never said anything incriminating in the audio. I won't be surprised it was his media team that recorded and leaked the audio to score cheap political points. The only party who scored an own goal in the audio was Obi with the religious war comment. With that line of bigotry, the Islamic core North will never ever vote for him as the main guy unless he is deputizing one of their own; a position they are aware is very useless like the "P" in psychology. The " yes daddy" part is no big deal since it is the normal name most Nigerian Christians especially of the Pentecostal sects call their pastors. |
IAM4BAT4plus4:You understand the psychology of women very well.. She never complained about him neglecting his financial responsibilities but quality time with the child.. If a woman hates your guts, she will even go to the extent of denying you access to see the child.. But she is indirectly craving for the presence of Reno by using the child as a bait.. She understands that the more time he spends with them, the higher her chances of summoning all her feminine wiles and power to win him back.. Trust me, she really wants him back.. |
opalu:It is all a messy cycle my brother.. It is all about personal interest and messiah complex and not their love for Nigeria.. The same evil the Buharists were busy condemning GEJ for, the same evil supporters spent all their energy, time and money to defend it to the highest heavens when power changed hands.. All the guys who were busy defending all the evil doings of GEJ during his tenure suddenly had their eyes opened to see the inhumanity in those same actions when Buhari started toeing the same path. Do not ever be shocked that the same Obidients condemning this inhumane act by Tinubu today would have been the sycophants of the day if Obi had even increased it to 200k if their man was the president. Then suddenly the current sycophants defending this evil act would begin to see it for what it is if it was Peter Obi in power. As long as it is about party, religious or ethnic affiliation and messianic complex for the average Nigerian, Nigeria will continue to remain that British failed project only waiting to be raped by the next predator while the mob fans of the predator are waiting to devour anyone trying to condemn the evil actions of their messiah. I have been on Nairaland long enough to always witness this "entertainment" by both sides of the divide who won't hesitate to switch their bias immediately the tide of power changes in their favour. |
Baiysam:What type of trader are you bro and what strategy do you trade? Because of the 2 weeks break from the market, I am assuming you are not an intraday trader because 99% of them think they must trade everyday irrespective of the market conditions.. |
Dominus007:An A+ set-up is unique to every trader who has found their edge in the market because our trading strategies are not the same.. It simply means a high probability set-up that aligns with the strategy of the trader.. For example, I trade a multi-time frame or top down analytical methodology whereby all the 4 timeframes(monthly, weekly, daily and 4hr) that I use for my analysis must be aligning before considering them for execution. Aside that, the market must be trending on the higher timeframes.. For a trade to qualify as an A+ set-up, it must retrace to the golden zone [50-61.8]of the Fibonacci Retracement tool most times on the daily or 4hr timeframes for me to take a safe buy or sell and continue riding the trend instead of placing orders haphazardly.. Another A+ set-up is trading a Head n Shoulder pattern or its inverted equivalent on the weekly or daily timeframes that has played out for a while and has now retraced from a significant support/resistance zone to retest the neckline before heading back to its original direction. Another major A+set-up for me is a trade that has formed a clear trendline on the daily or weekly timeframes and is about to make its third touch before shooting to the moon. And once in a while, it might just be a confluence of some or all of these factors to make the trade an A++.. The more the confluence of factors, the higher the quality of the trade. Unless our style of trading is the same, you won't be able to relate to my A+set-ups.. |
ultraviolet27:In doing better, I was talking about the music global ratings after the group split and not their business side hustles outside of what the world know them primarily for which is music in the first place. And that is a fact which is not debatable. |
Host78:You need to understand something about making of hit songs... The making of hit songs goes beyond how good a song is. If that should be the case, a lot of thrashy songs musically making waves globally won't be making waves whereby a lot of great songs hardly make it beyond the studio it was made. It has more to do with the star power of the person singing the song and whether it is truly the artiste's time. This star phenomenon explains why most artistes won't be able to replicate and stay on the same pedestal of success after a certain period irrespective of the songs they continue to dish out to the world. They will just discover all of a sudden that the same fan base is no longer as receptive to their songs like before despite once being the rave of the moment. The universe cycle is regulated globally by time. What is the probability that the same song won't have flopped if it was originally introduced to the world by Blackface? Are the likes of Davido, Burna Boy, Wizzy or Asake the most talented musicians in Nigeria? In fact, if you listen to Davido sing live without the benefit of auto-tune, you will know that it takes more than a good voice to be churning out global hits back to back like a Davido. Like the poster I initially quoted said, never underestimate the power of destiny and the stars aligning for someone. If Blackface had been destined to become a bigger star than Tuface, even if he had stolen 10 songs from him, the shine at that particular period would never pass him by.. I studied a bit about Astrology and Numerology.. So I know what I am talking about.. The world is much deeper than we have been configured to always think by the powers that be who created the major popular religions for the masses.. Let's leave it at that! |
BATified2023:Well said brother.. This reminds me of when Michelle of the defunct Destiny Child featured both Beyonce and Kelly who were both doing better than her after the group splitted up.. She crossed into the gospel genre while the duo maintained their secular lane. Instead of being bitter or jealous like you said, she leveraged on their popularity and featured them in her gospel song, "Say yes." That has been her most successful song till date. It turns out Blackface is a very poor businessman at the end of the day.. Because if he is not, there is a way your business IQ will make you put your emotions or silly feelings aside and take the best decisions that will take your career to the next level even if it means collaborating with your "enemy." |
Baiysam:Please endeavour to continue the documentation of your journey on this new account too.. You are really motivating me. I also have a 20k account Maven account.. I am yet to place my first trade since I got it 3 weeks ago.. I am still waiting for my A+ set-ups to materialise as a swing trader.. Keep up the great work brother! |
Shikena:Thank you for the detailed clarification.. I guess the court cases would be amplified this time around due to the influence of the social media. If the Alaafin should let it slide without seeking legal redress after the public threat he just issued to the Ooni to prevent a future recurrence, he would only be subjecting himself to further public ridicule.. |
Our forefathers have been migrating and cohabiting with each other for centuries on these lands but when Nigerian Military Government drew boundary lines on these same lands, you now ingested that as your true identity even discriminating and looking down on your kinfolks in other parts of the lands!! It's ridiculous..
