albert2512:I am Okun and I am 100% Yoruba. Apart from the fact that I have a full understanding of my lineage and bloodline, I do not need the validation of ignorant folks who think the great Yoruba race are limited to only the South West of Nigeria.. We even have the Yoruba Ajase who migrated from Ancient Ile Ife to the present day Benin Republic.. They are not even Nigerians.. They are even more Yoruba than some Yorubas of the South West who are more Arabic or European in their worldview compared to these non-Nigerian Yorubas who are more culturally grounded.. Same way we have Yoruba Anagos in the Gambia and Togo who are not even Nigerians.. What you are saying is similar to an indigenous Hausa man who hails from Mali or Ghana waiting for the Hausa man in Northern Nigeria to validate him as a Hausa man because he thinks the indigenous Hausa man can only be found in the Northern region of Nigeria. You should be the one apologising to the general public for displaying an incredible amount of ignorance in the public space. |
albert2512:The Okuns(A Yoruba sub-ethnic group) have their own own dialect same way other Yoruba sub-ethnic groups like the Ijebus, Egbas, Ekitis, Ijesas have theirs.. A dialect is a genre of a language.. If you go to England, different parts have their own dialects same way the Enugu dialect of the Igbos might be different from Anambra people.. It does not invalidate the fact that the Okuns migrated from ancient Ile-Ife just like most Yoruba sub-ethnic groups to the present day Kogi State. In fact, there is a town called Iffe(coined from the word Ile-Ife but spelt with the double "f"...) in Okun land. Please stop displaying your ignorance in the public space. |
naptu2:That explains it then.. However, I think in the future, CAF should ensure that the individual awards and the best team selection should be done by the same set of voters to avoid such a nonsensical disparity all the time. |

stuffs2002:Let the Yorubas speak for themselves and stop taking paracetamol for our headache... Whatever anyone chooses to believe out of their bigotry is their business.. And the last time I checked, the Okun Yorubas where Deji comes from happens to have migrated from Ile Ife the same place most of their kinsmen migrated from to their present geographical location which explains the name, culture being practised and language being spoken. Believe whatever you choose to believe, it won't make all the sub-Yoruba ethnic group outside the South West less Yoruba than their kinsmen.. The "osu" or "outcast" mentality has no place whatsoever in the culture of the Yorubas.. It is an aberration of the highest order that will forever be alien to the Yoruba culture. This will be my last response to you on the issue. |
stuffs2002:Those are not the real Yorubas but the bloody illiterates and ignoramuses amongst us ... The real enlightened and sophisticated Yorubas who are aware of the deep history and heritage of the Yoruba people know that mere geographical boundaries do not define the bloodline of a people.. |
stuffs2002:The Yoruba ethnic group are not limited to only the South West geographical area of Nigeria.. They are also found in places like Kwara, Kogi, Togo, Benin Republic, Gambia etc as indigenes and not mere immigrants It is the same way the Hausa Ethnic group can be found in places like Ghana, Mali and Senegal as indigenes too.. What determines your ethnic group is your language and culture and not your geographical location.. |
cr7lomo:Please always speak for yourself brother. Everything in life has its fans no matter how few. That is why it is called choice. I don't click on more than 50% of the topics gracing the front page of Nairaland. The reason is simple. I am not interested in them neither am I curious about them. And mind you, it is not only interest that makes one engages a topic on the front page like you just did to this particular one you claimed you have no interest in. Curiosity plays a huge part even more than interest.. One of the things life has taught me is that, if you want to know the real personality of people, observe what they really do(deeds) instead of what they say(mere talks). The real people who have no interest whatsoever in the subject matter would never have clicked on it let alone leaving a comment. naptu2, please keep up the great work sir. You are really doing well. |
chinchum:Imagine the foolish coach willing to sabotage his own team just to prove himself right at the expense of the success of his team. His self-defeatist mindset proves that it would be extremely difficult for him to excel in the coaching field. |
Danisaint112:These people are not Yoruba immigrants who migrated willingly from Africa after the creation of Nigeria or any other African country bro.. They are indigenous black Americans who happen to be the descendants of the Yoruba slaves whose ancestors were forcefully taken from Africa when we had only different thriving kingdoms in different parts of Africa.. They are not Nigerians.. Apart from America, they have no other place to call home.. So please stop comparing apples and oranges.. |

cjudy:Please how does this decentralised P2P works? Won't it be susceptible to scam if there is no reputable exchange platform like Binance or Bybit regulating it.. Kindly educate me. Thanks. |
Themanleshey:What is your country producing and exporting enmasse that will make countries all over the world start demanding for the naira? If dollar is available at a cheaper rate in the commercial banks, it is only a fool who will buy from Binance P2P or BDCs which are owned by the top guns in the CBN and banking industries hoarding the few dollars available.. The truth of the matter is that Nigeria is not a country but a geographical location comprising of multiple disunited individual units which have no business being together. |
kettykin:It might interest you to know that the Yorubas there are indigenous Brazilians who even founded a village there known as Oyotunji. They are like black Americans who are now indigenous to America.. It might also interest you to know that the same way Caucasian Europeans migrated to America from Europe is the same way the black Americans were forcefully sold from Africa against their will.. Today, all their descendants are both owners of America because they do not have any other place to call home unlike the migrant Africans who went there for greener pasture. If you and I go to Brazil today, we are going to be classified as migrants unlike the indigenous Yoruba Brazilians whose ancestors were forcefully taken from Africa. |
Racoon:Mary Slessor stopped the killings of twins in some parts of Nigeria and not Yorubaland. In fact, the Yorubas literally worshipped twins because they were believed to have paranormal powers. The birth of twins used to be celebrated more than the birth of a single child. So it will be the greatest height of ignorance to attribute the evil practices being practiced by a few tribes in Nigeria to every part of Africa before the invasion of the colonial invaders when the cultures and practices are different like night and day. ElSudani:The truth is those Asian guys can be very strict with corrupt public officials. The trio of Tinubu, Atiku and Peter Obi would have been mercilessly executed. They didn't get to where they are by mere accident. |
MetaPhysical:Flesh and blood hath not revealeth this to you. Until people get it that Nigeria was not created to work for the interest of the people trapped in that mere geographical location, they will continue to move in circles. And mind you, it has nothing to do with who is occupying Aso Villa. 1000 x 0 will always equal to zero. |
Dotunking01:If the money is much, there are steps you can actually take to recover your money since he has a single BVN that links ALL his current and yet to be opened bank accounts in Nigeria. If taken, he won't be to transact business with any bank in Nigeria again unless he refunds your money. |
pacespot:I had to log in to reply to your post. Who knows, my comment might help someone in the future. If you believe that nonsense Fury said about masturbation, then believe I am the landlord who collects Aso rock rent from the FG every month. What he did is called reverse psychology. I believe he said it to deceive Wilder or any future opponent to try the same thing during their own preparation. It is just like giving the opposite of your secret to your opponent, and prays he foolishly grabs the bait. The FACT is, I've studied the lives of accomplished male athletes all over the world through some of their autobiographies, biographies and interviews. There is a recurring theme, most of them stay away from sex before any of their important games. MASTURBATION IS NOT EVEN AN OPTION for a boxer before an important fight. Nothing depletes a boxer's life force, energy and testosterone like masturbation. It makes a boxer weak in the knee. Your stamina is next to zero if you are a chronic masturbator. This is 1% out of the numerous side effects that come with masturbation. Don't take my word for it. Practice this little exercise yourself as a man. First week, masturbate at least once a day, eat all the good food you can and try and exercise every day, and take all the energy drinks in the world. Note your energy level. 2nd week, don't masturbate, watch porn or have sex for a full week. Eat normal, don't even exercise. Come back and report on your bursting energy level for the 2nd week. Call me a bastard if you don't feel like taking on the world. You might not believe me. But a deep inner cabal in the world is bent on emasculating the menfolk, and masturbation and pornography is just one of the tools they are employing to create sissy males who can't challenge the status quo, let alone building a new paradigm. Don't take my word for it. I am not a religious fellow, neither am I a conspiracy theorist. I am just a man who was addicted to pornography and masturbation for 20 years, got liberated, turned his life around, did a lot of deep research on the twin vices, and currently doing my best to help my fellow men still stuck into the dungeon of masturbation and pornography. Have a lovely day. Cc: Clinghton 12345baba Realhommie horlabisi93 eni4real |
zechorieus:Although, I've not had the opportunity to have a one-on-one interaction with Ifenes. One thing is sure though, he is definitely not an atheist. The fact that he doesn't believe in the conventional religious system does not make him one. An atheist believes solely in the material world, and sees anything extraterrestrial as made-up nonsense. But if you follow his comments deeply, he's someone with some deeper esoteric knowledge. Ifenes, is it okay if I resend you a mail? Will really love to have a discussion with you on some spiritual topics. |
AreaFada2:And the best comment of the thread goes to AreaFada2. To add to what you've said, I have a cousin who has a huge dick. He used to gist me about his sexcapades when we were together. We used to call him "Ewele" due to his promiscuous and careless lifestyle. Most of the girls he got intimate with were runs girls, "normal girls" with multiple body counts or outright sex workers and they never complained about his big size because those girls have seen it all. But the day he was lucky to get down with a homely or decent girl, can you believe that this cousin of mine could not penetrate this lady despite the fact that she was not a virgin? My cousin said she was so tight down there that she kept screaming in pain each time he attempted to do the do. It was just like deflowering a girl for the first time. Like you said, the OP should not allow the wideness of a girl make him feel insecure about his size. He should go for the kinds of rare girls who gave my cousin a tough time and not the average olosho who might be too wide for him no thanks to years of excessive drilling, mileage and different sizes of drillers. |
SaintLucia:Stop trampling on the spiritual beliefs of your ancestors or what you know absolutely nothing about. My friend, this world is very complicated. The last time I checked, Ayelala spiritual system is just one out of the thousands, if not millions of spiritual beliefs on earth, and they don't claim or profess to be the most potent one, even though it might be working for its adherents. Mind you, it is a known secret that most of those top colonial/missionary guys from Europe were members of Freemason and other notable spiritual lodges in their home countries. The fact that they hide under Christianity to perpetrate their atrocities on less developed economies doesn't mean they were not spiritually fortified themselves, not forgetting their more advanced technology. Like someone pointed above, one could also ask the question, "where was the Christian God when Boko Haram was busy killing Christians left, right, and center?" It took the intervention of the Nigerian Army to stem the tide. Using your logic, can we infer that the Nigerian Army is greater than the Christian God? Unless you are an atheist who believes only in the material realm, learn to respect other people's spiritual beliefs as long as they are not trampling on the right of others. |
ropostic007:I totally agree. A must have classic in one's archive. I have the download link though if you want. |
kayusely70:The current Chief Whip of the HOA happens to be the son of Taiye Currency, a popular Fuji musician in the S/West. He is just a 25-yr old lawyer. Oyo is really setting the pace. |
yummy001:In case you missed the question, here is it once again. Thank you. " I have been following you on Nairaland for a very long time. Looking at the quality of your posts, especially when reporting female football, are you a professional sport journalist or just a female football enthusiast like me?" |
naptu2:How the heck did I miss this robust response despite coming to Nairaland everyday? Welldone sir. Please I want you to answer my second question. I am really curious. |
Princedapace:Teach you how to build television? No sir. Technology transfer does not happen on a platter of gold anywhere in the world. Do you know the implication of that? They will simply destroy their market share in Nigeria and other African countries if they do that. What needs to be done is to set up technological research institutes and hubs that will begin to dismantle the existing ones and attempt to replicate the exact copy cats of the foreign ones. That is how great nations like Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan started before they became the giants that they are today. With consistent practice, we will become perfect. It takes a lot of time, funding and energy to become a technological powerhouse. Nobody will reveal their technological secrets to you just like that. |
HabuD:Nice submission devoid of any form of sentiments. Just wanted to correct something. The Super Falcons have been participating in the FIFA Women's world cup since 1991 and not 1999. We used to be the sole African representative before the likes of South Africa and Cameroon started catching up with us. This year makes it TWENTY EIGHT YEARS of playing at the global stage. We started playing the game at the global stage with the likes of Germany, Norway, China and the United States. If after 28 years, we are still not rubbing shoulders with the big names, we don't have any excuse whatsoever. |
naptu2, kudos to you for a job well done. I have been a long time enthusiast of female football right from the days of Ismaila Mabo and the first Nations' cup in Abeokuta. But of recent, I've not been impressed with the evolution of female football in Nigeria over the years. We seem to be taking 2 steps forward and 4 steps backward, forget our dominance on the African scene. I am not a natural pessimist, but I don't see us going past our traditional position of group stage at the mundial as usual. This is no thanks to our oyinbo coach who seems to lack the knowledge of African female football. As crude as Ismaila Mabo coaching techniques looked like, he had one thing going for him. He understood the nitty-gritty of African female football. Apart from discovering most of the girls of his era, he knew them in and out. He really understood their strengths and weaknesses. He knew who to play in what position, and who and who to combine together. He really brought out the best in those girls. I believe with patience, time, and the right international grade A coaching exposure, not forgetting non-stop quality friendly matches every now and then, Florence Omagbemi would not only have equalled Mabo's records but surpassed them in flying colours. It still beats me till date how an Omagbemi could be dropped for a Dennerby despite winning her first Nation's cup in style. I guess it is down to our worship of anything foreign at the expense of ours irrespective of the quality. Sir, please I have 2 questions for you: (I) Don't you think stripping a veteran like Onome Ebi of the captain's armband and giving it to Oparanozie could affect the morale, bonding and spirit of the team ahead of the world cup? Personally, I think this singular action tells negatively on the man-management skill of the coach. It would have been understandable if Onome was incompetent or indisciplined. To make matters worse, she even stood out as the best player in the mediocre squad that won the last Awcon unconvincingly. (II) I have been following you on Nairaland for a very long time. Looking at the quality of your posts, especially when reporting female football, are you a professional sport journalist or just a female football enthusiast? Keep up the good work sir. |
naptu2:Ogagun naptu2,I am deeply banking on your coverage of all the matches(friendly/competition) of the Super Falcons from now till the end of the world cup. Keep up the great work sir. |
