What a brilliant idea! A Brazilian mechanic has invented a way of lighting bulbs without electricity- using plastic bottles filled up with water and a splash of bleach. The secret: Adding two capfuls of bleach to a bottle of water stops it from turning green when exposed to sunlight. He then drills a hole in a roof tile and pushes the filled bottle in from below. He keeps the bottle in place with polyester resin, which waterproofs the 'window' in his roof. More photos after the cut: During a power shortage, it was his boss that first suggested the use of a plastic bottle filled with water as a lens to focus the sun's rays on dry grass and to light fires in case of an emergency. It was after then that Mr. Moser developed the concept into his Moser Light. In a statement to the BBC World Service, he was quoted as saying: 'It's a divine light. God gave the sun to everyone, and light is for everyone. Whoever wants it saves money. You can't get an electric shock from it, and it doesn't cost a penny." Wow..!!! The man should patent his invention immediately and not forget to fly to Nigeria asap too...we have plenty of water bottles and sunlight!!! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/plastic-water-bottle-bulbs.html Twitter @tutubranch

This is serious! A pet turtle in China is not just a smoker but also an addict! The animal got hooked to tobacco when its owner "pacified" the beast with a single cigarette. Now the shelled addict can't live without its beloved tobacco and has to take up to 10 sticks in a day...strange, isn't it?! It was double celebration for the CBN Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, and his wife, Sadiya, as they celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary with the conferment of the chieftaincy title of "Giwar Dan Maje" on his wife. The title is literarily translated to mean ’Elephant of Dan Maje"- the strength behind the traditional title of the CBN boss. The CBN Governor did not waste time to tell everyone present that Sadiya has been the pillar of success in his married life at the occassion which took place in Kano. Another photo after the cut: He was quoted as saying: “The title, Giwar Dan Maje which I am conferring on my wife today represents strength, it represents stability, it represents protection. In every household, the first wife is the pillar. She may be joined by one, two or three other wives. “I give Sadiya a lot of credit for the peace and stability in my house, even those that has not known us but come to the house for the first time easily recognize her as the pillar of stability in the house. “It is in recognition of this our living together for 25 years and in appreciation of her role that I give her this title.” Congrats to the couple and wishing them many more blissful years together...! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/Lamidos-wife-chieftaincy-title.html

What could have led a nursing mother to take her own life, few months after giving birth? Muji Kazeem, a hairdresser who lived at Oremerin Street, Somolu Lagos, was found dead in a well. The woman who had been barren for five years had given birth to twins only four months earlier. Her husband narrates his ordeal: "We were together on Sunday night having prayers around 9.30pm. Then, the babies started crying, so I told her to go and breast-feed them. "By the time I finished praying, she had slept off with the twins on the bed. I spread a mat on the floor by the entrance and slept off. "Muji woke up around 11.30pm and went outside. One of my friends told me that he saw her at that time taking cool air before he went inside to sleep." Kazeem said he was awaken by the wailing of the twins around 1am. He said he searched for their mother without success. When the day broke, he raised the alarm that his wife was missing. The neighborhood was said to have been thrown into confusion as a search party was organized to look for her without success. The matter was later reported at the Pedro Police Station. Kazeem said, "We saw her clothes near the well on Monday night and became hopeful. We intensified prayers for her. But it was 7am the following day that a woman, who wanted to draw water from the well, observed that the drawer did not get water. She got a torchlight, pointed it down the well and saw the swollen corpse of my wife." He went further to describe his wife as an amiable person who never stepped on anyone's toes. Meanwhile, neighbors claim that the woman had been depressed few days before her death. Specifically, a source told Punch newspaper that the 25-year-old mother, could sometimes be lost in thought for several hours and would not respond to greetings until people shouted at her. Circumstances surrounding her death all point to suicide but really, couldn't she have fallen into the well? Muji has been buried at the Atan Cemetry at Yaba in line with Islamic rites. May her soul rest in perfect peace. http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/nursing-mother-commits-suicide.html

Disgusting, isn't it? Such was the battle at the 9th Annual Bee Beard Competition held in Ontario, Canada where competitors covered their faces with bees to form a 'beard whilst the person with the heaviest and more aesthetically pleasing bee beard is declared the winner. Competitors placed a queen bee in a cage around their neck to attract the rest of the colony to land on their upper body. Bee keepers then help to brush on and shape the growing mass of insects into a 'beard.' After this, contestants strut their insect facial fashions on the catwalk for gathered crowds. More photos after the cut: Wondering how come the bees did not sting them? the bee keepers kept the colonies well feed with sugar water and sedate the bees with smoke before letting them amass on the contestants. Contestants were jugded based on the mass of the bees (it takes about 5,000 bees to weight a pound), the beard's style and the performance each person puts on for the audience. The 2013 winner was Justin Hiemstra, who won for having the heaviest beard, according to Ruptly.com. Marenda Schipper was also recognized for her beard's atheistic with the 2013 Judge's Choice Award. What a sport! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/man-covered-with-bees.html

According to latest rankings by Alexa as updated this August shows that the world's largest social media network, Facebook is no longer the most visited site in Nigeria even though it currently has over 10 million Facebook users in the country Since January 2011 when Facebook toppled Yahoo! to become the most visited website in Nigeria, claiming the number one position which was Yahoo!’s for years, its usage has continued to show significant growth until the first quarter of 2013 when it lost more than 1 million users in Nigeria. Google.com, on the other hand, has now emerged the most visited site in Nigeria followed by Facebook.com, Google.com.ng, Yahoo.com and Youtube.com as at August 2013. While Nairaland (the No 1 indigenous Nigeria website), twitter and The Punch are numbers 7, 8 and 13 respectively Although Nairaland was developed by Seun Osewa, but i must say that Nairaland is now fully "owned" by Nigerians home and in diaspora! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/alexa-new-website-rankings.html

Just like every other place, in church you meet several kinds of people who do not cease to amaze you with different stunts during the service. At times, you get disturbed or annoyed but what can you do? Here is a drop-down of the most annoying things people do in church: *Chewing Gum in Church: And not just chewing gum but making silly noises with it. We know that most times, you might get sleepy during the service (especially if it is a vigil) but be discreet, mint sweets are better. *Gisting with Friends: Some people have seriously complained about this. They are struggling to listen but the noise of the person next to them won't even allow them hear a thing. The most annoying part is that their gist is irrelevant...at other times, it evolves out of something the pastor has said and goes beyond proportion. Please, whatever it is...can't it wait till after the service? Pinging and Constantly Updating Status: Funny enough, most people hide under the cloak of E-Bible, pretending to be using the bible application or jotting on a phone memo...hmnn...God dey ooo!!! *Screaming " Yeah, Word! Preach It!! Yes, the Word can get really exciting but also remember that you're not the only one in church...hehe *Snapping Pictures During Service and Uploading on Facebook, Twitter, etc: Just one question; when did church become a photo studio? * Walking Around: Very distracting, even to the minister. If you are the kind of person that always has to go to the gents, please find a seat in a place where you won't draw too much attention, and except it is urgent, please please and please, try and sit still till the end of the service. This is no excuse for the rudeness of ushers though... *Standing Up or Climbing a Chair to Watch a Drama: Dramas can get really exciting but obstructing the view of other people behind you is not accepted. Church is not cinema! *Crying babies in Church: Yes, babies can get out of control but if you know your baby is the touchy type, it is more advisable for you to seat where you won't easily distract people....and please don't breastfeed in front of everybody , give yourself some closure. Please, try to make this Sunday and every other one better for both you and everyone around you. Stay blessed!!! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/annoying-things-in-church.html

I know few Nigerian billionaires like Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote etc have some super yatch, but this one is the world's biggest built by South African construction gurus Oceanco and designed by Australian Sam Sorgiovanni, the 88.5 metre-long yacht has a remarkable pedigree history. With a repertoire to rival the most outlandish Saudi and Russian mega-yachts, the Nirvana is causing a bidding war among billionaire sailors as they battle to snap up the £200 million (N49,463,088,884) sea city. Only a handful of yachts have been priced more than the one-year-old vessel - making it one of the most luxurious floating mansions on the planet A spokesman for Edmiston, who are marketing the yacht, said: 'Nirvana is without question one of a handful of elite world cruising yachts around today - and it is certainly the most impressive and opulent yacht currently on sale. 'Every inch of the ship has been painstakingly designed and built. There really is little else like it. 'There, of course, has been a lot of interest in the listing but as of yet no sale has been agreed.' The floor of the pool rises to create a huge deck for entertaining family and friends or just to show off the business compatriots - forward in the main salon is a bar and exotic reptile house separating it from the dining area. All guests cabins are situated on the main deck, with floor to ceiling windows and as well as the full beam VIP stateroom. The silver engraved elevator services all decks and leads guests up to the owner's deck which can be transformed into a secluded on-board retreat. The owner's stateroom dominates over half of the upper deck, with a private sunbathing area with Jacuzzi forward, salon with terraces over the sea and a covered dining area. Exterior stairs on the above deck lead to the bridge deck and the enormous and superbly equipped gymnasium and spa. But when spas and five-star dining becomes too much, there is a private sundeck with plunge pool to enjoy, a 3D cinema next to twins garages that caters for supercars, ski boats or 10 jet skis. Or if riding waves is too similar to sailing, then owners will be able to fly off in their own helicopter from their private helipad. Stylishly wonderful, i trust very soon, we will be seeing some of these on the shores of Nigeria to be own by our wealthy billionaires http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/inside-world-biggest-yatch.html

Lady Gaga is known for her outlandish costumes that do not but leave one wondering where on earth such ideas came from. Now, her long-term stylist, Nicola Formichetti is set to quit. In his words; "She changes twelve times in a day, it's frustrating!" The stylist who says she's "too busy" however promises that she'd always be friends with the musician. meanwhile, the role will now be filled by her Ex-assistant, Brandon Maxwell. Let's see what image change Brandon will bring on board these times...*fingers crossed. P.S How can someone change twelve times in a day, like one cloth in two hours? Tiwa Savage of Mavin Records has disclosed that somewhere at the back of her mind, she prays that the duo of Don Jazzy and DBanj would re-unite. Luminaries and founders of defunct Mo’Hits Records, both had gone their separate ways based on reasons which Tiwa herself admitted she could not point to. She also had this to say about the personality of Don Jazzy, that he is a "mysterious guy". Speaking with PM News “I’ll tell you the honest truth about Don Jazzy…he really is like that. He doesn’t really open his heart easily to people. He just accepts what happens and he moves on. I mean he is the Don, so I can’t go up to him and say ‘Jazzy, what really happened. I just keep my mouth shut,” she said. It will be recalled that the old Mo’Hits Crew had as members D’Banj, Wande Coal, Dr. SID, D’Prince and KSwitch and after the break-up, D’Banj left with his younger brother, KSwitch, to float his DKM Records label while the rest metamorphosed into what is now called Mavin Records. So, DBanj and Don Jazzy back together...how feasible really, do you think it is? http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/08/tiwa-savage-laments-breakup.html

For the love and poise of heels, some ladies will go any length. Yes, heels of any kind add that classy look to any outfit. Now, with regards to heels, do you have any limits? How many inches is your highest and will you rock the heels above and to what occasion? What will be the conditions for you to wear them? A driver at your beck and call? A pair of slippers in your bag? Notice that I said "rock" and not "walk like an agama lizard"...hehehe! A victim narrates: “He has convinced us that only God could come into our lives through our mouth and that’s why he would do what he did”. Often, after worship, pastor Valdeci would take us to where the funds were kept at the back of the Church and asked us to have MouthAction with him until the Holy Spirit would come through ejaculation”. Brazilian Evangelical Pastor, Valdeci Sobrino Picanto, has been arrested for deceiving several people that his penis was blessed and that he had to release the sacred milk therein in order to "evangelize". The pastor, who is already in jail has vowed to continue ‘watering’ his cellmates with his ‘sacred milk’. My concern: So, some people are still that gullible on the face of the earth? And this "pastor"...he needs to be checked mentally. http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/07/fake-pastor-deceives-members.html

The first thing that caught my attention about this story was that the Special Assistant to the governor of Sokoto State on Press Affairs, Malam Abubakar Dangusau, told THISDAY that he was not aware of this incident. An incident that hapenned right at the residence of the Governor? I'd come back to him later. Sad news reaching me holds that 3 children have died and 8 other people are critically injured due a stampede at the Sokoto State Governor's residence while he was distributing Sallah gift to the people. As THISDAY reports, "The governor usually doles out brocade to youths and wrappers to women with an additional N1,000 to enable them sew the clothes before the Sallah festivities every year. He does this as a personal gesture to assist the indigent to enable them have a sense of belonging during the festival." Reportedly, there had been three queues as teenagers waited to collect clothing items from the Governor but unfortunately, this could not be maintained despite the efforts of security operatives and a struggle ensued. The result was the suffocation of 3 small children and the hospitalization of 8 other teenagers who are currently receiving treatment at the Specialist hospital. My point: CREATE JOBS for the people rather than distribute meager sums of money that cannot sustain them to "give them a sense of belonging". First, give them a means of livelihood and see if they'd kill themselves over cloths and 1,000 Naira. No...I don't mean the distribution of the gifts is wrong in itself, but this incident only goes to show the extent of poverty in Nigeria. Now, to the Special Assistant that said he didn't know about the matter, he should definitely be ashamed of himself. If such an occurence happened right under his nose and he heard nothing about it, it simply means that he grossly lacks competence to fit into that position that he claims to hold. My point again: What is wrong with press secretaries and public relations officers in Nigeria who try to keep their jobs by telling the public a lie? It is very terrible! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/07/sallah-gift-kills-children.html

Imagine German Chancelor Merckel Kneel for President Obama...lol In case you never knew, Malawian president is a female and her name is Joyce Banda. And so...President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, held a function recently but everyone stood in awe as the Malawian President knelt down before the Tanzanian President to greet him. Whilst some people have said that it was a sign of humility for Joyce who was named the 71st most powerful woman in the world by Forbes Magazine in 2012 to kneel down to greet her fellow president, others have opined that she simply humiliated herself and her country. Also, some have said that her action was suggestive of gender inequality, belittling women as inferior to men. Would a male President prostrate for a fellow male President at a public function? What do you think? Your opinions please...! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/07/Banda-kneels-for-Kikwete.html

Recently, Beyonce's hair got caught in a fan during a performance for her Mrs. Carter World Tour show stop on Monday (July 22) in Montreal, Canada. How did it happen? She had been performing her hit track, "hallo", when her hair got caught in a fan stationed behind her. Two security guards helped untangled the singer's locks and the funny thing is that the singer kept on performing the song as if nothing had happened. Shorltly after the incidence, she parodied her hit Halo to describe the fan incident, beating any other person who might have intended to make fun of her. Some people have pointed out that more people were interested in reading about Beyoncé's hair upset than about the royal baby's birth in London, England. Hehehe...if you have not read about the birth of the royal baby here, then you are the one we are looking for! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/07/fan-caught-beyonces-hair.html

I was in utter amazement when I heard that a certain Senator representing Ondo Senatorial District, Hon. Ayo Akinyelure , has apologized as concerning his vote for the legalization of child marriage, saying he voted in error. Voted in error? Like seriously? And later he denied ever in his recent press conference that he never even voted for "under age" marriage. Is this Senator Confused? The question to ask is; was he cajoled, forced, bribed or pressurized to cast his vote or was he blind an deaf to media reports of girls suffering due to early marriage in the past? Or rather, was it just sheer silliness on his part that made him cast a vote for the retention of a clause that even a secondary school student in Nigeria, if not a primary school pupil, knows is morally wrong? What was he thinking and what could have been his motivation? Is he planning to also "ship-in" an Indian girl to compete with his counterpart and enstranged senator, Ahmed Yerima, or is he beginning to eye some small girls in his neighbourhood already? What gains did he think would accrue to the Nigerian society in general and did he think that posterity would forgive him if that clause stands? Did he consider the blood of innocent Nigerian girls who have been sacrificed on the altar of such lust and irrational behaviour? Yerima will tell you; "consummation of the marriage will take place only on the consent of the girl involved" but something in our heads keep screaming...."na lie!"...if this is the kind of big grammar they are blowing for the girls, I should suppose they won't even understand what consummation means, not to talk of standing up for their sexual rights in the marriage when they are being abused. Does anybody even take those girls through sexual education? Do they have proper orientation about the act of sex? What body has been put to place for them to run to when they are raped in their own marriage? Or is it still the same parents that impatiently sold them out cheaply that they are expected to turn to? If they are ever able to ever summon such courage, you can expect that they will simply be driven back to their prisons. And he says he is sorry? He must have thought he was in the National Assembly just to shout "naaaaay"and "yeeeeees". Even this apology after a peaceful protest in Akure is suspicious. Would he have come out to apologize to Nigerians if their names were not published? ...And is he contesting for any position in 2015? Answer these two questions and for the sake of hidden agendas and correcting "bad reputation", you'd realize that your guess is as good as mine! http://www.tutubranch.com/2013/07/akinyelure-apology-unacceptable.html
