TravelRe: How To Easily Relocate To South Africa by yungokus: 6:42am On Sep 22, 2014
johntosin: If you will like to relocate to South Africa either temporarily or permanently. You can make lots of money here and there are lots of opportunities but you must have at least a skill. Here is a step by step guide to get started

-1- Get your international passport; you are not good to go until you have it! This is the starting point.

-2-At least a month visiting visa will do the job. Travel agents fee starts from 120,000 Nigerian naira (everything inclusive and depending on visa type), visa processing takes only two weeks. Business/study/work visas take more time and money.

-3- If you are below 30 years of age, you may be contacted by the consular where your visa application was submitted to pay a repatriation fee (N110, 000), just before granting of Visa. However, if you are above this age (well, am not as old, am fairly new!) this fee may not be necessary. This fee, if paid is refundable within a few business days (before visa expiration) as soon as you are back to Nigeria (Of course that’s if you intend coming back anytime soon!)

-4- Congratulations on your visa! Next, book a flight (price ranges = N85,000 – N120,000 (return ticket/person) it varies) and approach the next airport (if any in your village, good! But I took a flight from Lagos, Nigeria and its called ARIK because it sounds very cheap!).

-5- Prepare your BTA (Basic travelling Allowance); it ranges between five hundred to a thousand dollars. You will also need to reserve a Hotel (at least for the sake of documentation) if you are on a visiting visa.

-6- Beware of corruption at the Lagos airport! (am still gonna write a petition on them). DO NOT change all your money to dollars! Reserve some naira notes with you because you will need to “shake hands” with almost all the airport officials (from custom officials, immigration, NDLEA, to almost every fool wearing a uniform at the airport) even if you are a VIP and all your documents are “ultra” complete.

-7- Come on board! Note that no powdery substances are allowed on this flight ( Elubo, ata gigun, ata gbigbe, you had better keep it in your pants,…else…lol)

-8- Welcome to jo’burg! If you are lucky to arrange for someone to pick you up at the airport prior to your arrival, then you are very lucky! Life starts from there. If not, get a taxi and enter the street. Airport pickups is just 350 ZAR if within Johannesburg. Contact me if you need me to assist pick you up from the airport and get you settled into your hotel room.

-9- Basically, you don’t necessarily need to know a body here before coming to South Africa. There are “Omo Naija” on every street and every corner! Infact, their head full everywhere. But be careful, they can make you use your return ticket before you really wanna do!

-10- Accommodation is bit expensive here! It’s no joke at all. And NOBODY will accommodate you (am sorry) because occupants in each flat are well monitored by the authorities, limits must not be exceeded. Infact, an average South African work majorly to pay their rent! Food and clothing are minors. Infact, food is everywhere and very cheap! Therefore, try and get a small hotel to lodge for a couple of your first 2/3/few days (Price starts from150 ZAR) before getting to figure out renting an Accommodation. A room apartment downtown generally starts from ranges from 45,000 naira equivalents per month! For my upmarket apartment in Sandton, I pay 180,000 naira equivalent per month (Utility exclusive...You sef shout…lol). But the good news, no crime in sharing!

-11- Get a job, start a business with your little money left (if any) or start hustling. But am sorry there are no jobs here!...na security jobs full everywhere (in the cold winter). If you are a graphic artist/computer guru like me, you can start talking to other colleagues/companies for free lance jobs and start a life from there. If you are a beautician/stylist (very good you are on your way to gold) you can thrive very well here because Nigerians run most beauty salons here! For other disciplines, If you are so proud of your certificate, then am sorry its of no use here! Certificates from Nigerian institutions are nothing to write home about, NO company is gonna give you a job with that “pali”, infact, forget it! You will need to do at least a diploma or certificate short course to compliment what you have before you can get a very good paying job (companies pay very good money here!). However, you will need a work permit to this effect. Work permits ranges from 7,000 Rands – 12,000 Rands (N140, 000 – N240, 000) depending on how genuine...lol. South Africa in a man-eat-man dog-eat-dog kindda place and you are solely on your own. LIFE start afresh for you On Your Own, keep fit!

-12- Here is the golden rule; never stay outta status! Your documents must always be valid! Police, cameras, CCTV are everywhere and on every street! If you are on a visiting visa, you will need to either convert your status to get a WORK PERMIT, BUSINESS PERMIT, STUDY PERMIT or get a LIFE….partner (you know whattamean, southy ladies are always ready for sex and marriage!). If you are still single and fresh from the oven (like me…lol), then you will “sell” fast here, southy ladies will be all over you! Anyways, just marry one and get a LIFE! (it’s always a contract). However, if you are not fast on your decision, then you will need to keep extending your stay till you are able to make up your mind and of course, additional costs...else get an asylum!

-13- From a bit of research, it takes an average of 3 years to settle down here (i.e get a good job, home and other stuffs we all run after in life. However this can be faster if you have your magic wand with you – money!...and if not, Goodluck is not enough!) and find your feet! After this, you can now go back home to bring down your family if any.

-14- South Africa is a beautiful country – most developed part of Africa, four seasons, quality life style, all things WHITE, BLACK or COLORED, beautiful city life, skyscrapers everywhere, beautiful ladies/women (if you do run after booties), sex right on the street (if you are into that trade), no generators, no DEMON called NEPA (lol), water running outta “healthy” pipes, life is beautiful, quality education, standard of living very o.k, make your money fast if you still have your brain with you, Life expectancy very high, Crime rate = High!(of course like Nigeria, but I mean crime not corruption or a combination of both!), Boko Haram = Zero!, Ebola = None, plane crash = not yet!, church collapsing = Not applicable... every other thing still very intact!

-15- In summary, this is what should be in your account before you think of coming here, if not don’t bother to come because you may be here to suffer. International Passport= 15k-20k, Visa Processing =60k-80k, repatriation fee (if applicable) = 110k, Flight Ticket = 95k-105k , BTA = 150k, Accommodation (at least 3 months) = 75k, Work permit = 140k-240k, other Savings = 100k.
Good luck!...em,sorry All the best.

samtol4: The treatment SA immigration usuallu melt out to Nigerians at times can be traumatic and painful. Few days ago we waited endlessly for our guest who was coming with the family to spend 4days in SA. The drama started from lagos when the SA airline was delayed because of ebola scare and passengers when through tough time. As if that is not enough the immigration at johannesburg method of verifying permit and proof of accommodation was quaint .They asked all passengers(mostly Nigerians) to tend their proof of accommodation (hotel or residential) and they started dialing the numbers of host and hotels to confirm . She tender our numbers and they call us to confirm if we invited her .After 20mins immigration officer call again asking for our permit numbers and we responded .She missed the connecting flight to Durban because of this checking she was asked to pay 600dollars for herself and kids for the next available flight .We encouraged her not to pay any money after hours of waiting till afternoon time ,they gave her tickets. Please if you coming to SA sort out accommodation stuff to avoid deportation .Before it was yellow fever card now it is proof of accommodation they use to deport our people . It is clear most of them dislike Nigerians because of past antecedent. Finally is this how other international airports verify by dialing hosts numbers? Please comments are welcome.
This is so pathetic and disheartening to hear .. Everyone has reiterated several times on this thread about visitors to SA ensuring they have valid proof of accommodation to avoid all this embarrassment by the immigration at the POE

I watch ENCA and ANN7 news everyday and since Monday the headlines have been 67 south Africans died in TB Joshua's church building that collapsed and that some still seeking miracles are held in the church against their wish.. They have so castigated TB Joshua as being a cultist blah blah inshort they are pained by the incident That I will not be surprised they are retaliating what happened at Nigerians coming into SA from Nigeria.

They said Nigerian government is not handling the situation to their satisfaction hence they have sent their team of experts to investigate and help ito ascertain the number of south Africans that died.. This hatred of Nigerians is just too bad .. But Darris God!!.. Bliss!!

Siga: @cris83...why would you wanna go into HR...u need to keep in mind these Visa officers are not idiots...they look at what u are applying for and see how closely related it is to wat u have....rather than go for HR...why not look into Enviromental Sciences....thats pretty close to Geology....stay in ur line...and believe me...u cant go wrong with Geology...
I don't want to blive he can't delve into HR... Any course of study can delve into HR... HR is similar to doing MBA which u are allowed to do regardless of your course of study @ post secondary level... Am a CIPM certificate holder.. And u need to see a lot of people doing it regardless the course u studied.. Its a general program for everyone.. Its not restricted to a line of study.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by yungokus: 3:23pm On Nov 10, 2012
@Cris83 please u are still good to go to study HRM , don't be misguided by being told to do a related course related to Geology.. Like u av rightly said HRM is everywhere in all organizations even in the oil sector. ... It is a generalized course/profession that is required in any organization.. Be it oil, manufacturing, banking or what have u... I suggest u stick to your choice.. You are still on Track.. Regards!!

freshdude: hehehe bro i like ur assumtion, but is actually my DAD that is sponsoring me not step-dad. he bears a family name with my mum, we his kids bear his fathers name(our grandfather) as our surname. i have his name consistently on my intl passport, my birth-certificate and other documents that requires fathers name..but am still perturbed about this surname ish with the trend this CDHC is going. btwn thanks for helping out.
I don't understand your case its quite twisted ..I don't know why ur dad compliacted the names he bears.. Just be straightforward in ur application cos wit this ur xplanation a VO cud get tired of the complications in ur name ... Don't knw if any one in the House could help u out on what to do.. Regards!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by yungokus: 6:39pm On Nov 06, 2012
freshdude: @all, my dad is my sponsor..but we dont share the same surname. apart from his birth certificate, what other document do i have to include in my file as prove of relationship.
Please make it real next time by saying your step dad is your sponsor instead of saying your Dad.. That word alone can infuriate the VO cos a step dad cannot be regarded as ur dad.. As regards your question I would advise you tell ur step dad to write a very comprehensive sponsor letter to explain and convince the VO why he is sponsoring you and how and why he got married to your mum also stating info about his past marriage xplaining how many wives/wife and kids he has from his past marriage and how many kids he has inherited from your mum to foster.. @least this info would allow the VO to know the num of dependants that are depending on him all together..

NB:: All this info shud be backed up with credible and genuine Docs... Hope this helps..Goodluck!

D acct is saving nd as am talking 2 u nao d minimum balance in d acct is 15 million. Nd dia is inflow and outflow almost every day. I welcom advice 4rm all guru in d forum both naija nd canny base
@lovesaavi now i know where your problem lies ... u shud av first of all include ur sis marriage cert and birth cert which u failed to do.... second of all its not about all this money u r mentioning, fine its a very ok amount but all those invoice, delievery report, waybill of flour mills nd dangote u mentioned is not enuf to convince dem about the true nature of what ur sis does i.e u av not shown to them if you sis owns a company that does this trade with big coys like dangote and flour mill.. so now ask urself, what is d name of ur sis company and where is the CAC cert, and does she have employees and why would she use her company profits to sponsor u when d dependants are NO.1, The employees who are there to make the biz run and how much she pays them as salary. NO.2, her dependants also are her own family and if she has quite some num of kids is anoda prob. !!!! oh i blive u forgot all dis info.... well pls ensure u r very detailed when submitting next time and use these as a guideline.... Reason you av nt satisfy me dat u av sufficient nd available financial resources without workin in canada 2 pay tuition fees for the course or programme of studies that u intend 2 pursue .u av nt satisfy me dat u will leav canada at d end of ur stay.other reasons handwritten not credible. My sister is my sponsor with 9.2 million bt different surname due 2 mariage bt i did nt include her mariage certificate nd birth certificate. Nd my tuition fees is 540
dola. I welcum any advice if i want 2 re apply
@Lovesavvi First of all sorry about ur denial , like I told u when I asked some questions from u few days bak.. If ur appication is more than the 14th week u applied its quite difficult to be issued a medical notification.. I blive these people are beginning to become more predictable and if u rem I asked u who was ur sponsor cos that myt also cause the delay which u sed was ur sis with different surname cos she's married . And I asked if u included her marriage cert and birth cert in ur app with writing all dis info in the sponsor letter she gave u.. U did not reply my query... All well and gud tho .. I blive the simple mistake u made from what u sed now is simply not including ur sisters marriage cert and birth cert to indicate how related she is to u even if she's ur sis cos she's married!.. Just refire bak by incuding dat cos the 9.2million is ok and also include gud home ties if u did not include dat bfor.. Sorry and God bless u.. Cheers!

pauloman: I dont think permanent residents need a visa to visit or cross over at the border to enter usa. As a permanent resident you would be issued a permanent residence card which is what you present at the border to allow you enter the usa. I stand corrected though...if there is an additional or contrary information to this.

I also know that as a citizen or even a permanent resident of Canada there are some countries you dont need a visa to enter or travel to...USA is one of such countries amongst a host of others.
@pauloman and Mercylicious

Canadian Citizens do not need a visa to enter
the US. In contrast, if you are a permanent
resident of Canada (not citizen yet) you might
need a visa to enter American soil. I believe
the need for a visa relies on the nationality or
citizenship you hold. i.e Unless you are from a visa exempt country you do not need a visa to enter the US . But as it is Nigeria is not among the visa exempted countries to enter US so therefore u need a visa to still enter the US even if u hold a Canadian PR as a Nigerian... The only exemption is if you eventually become a Canadian Citizen.. Hope this helps.. Regards!

If after d 14th week one applies and still no news its always very difficult to get a positive news and if one looks into what cud be delaying, like i also sed mayb one uses a diff surname as ur sponsor or uncle..it myt b d reason for d delay and denial...as it is they are easily becoming predictable 70%...@frankysteve please don't give up..
