JUST IN... PLS READ CAREFULLY
After several thinking and Calculation..... I yusuf ajide aka AJILO, finally Detect how the DE score on the circulated PDF file re being calculated...... taking an OND holder as example..... The DE score is 1000 in total.
OND grade- 500
post utme - 500
Total = 1000
For the first OND grade.
Distinction is 500
upper credit is 375
For the post utme grade.
Your post utme score divided by 100 multiply by 500 i.e 70/100*500=350....
Then, the total of ur OND grade + Post utme grade gives you ur Direct entry score.
Thanks.

Education / Tips In Attaining Academic Excellence by Yusluvajide10(m): 3:18pm On Jul 05, 2017
ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE - A TIP FOR ALL
Excellence simply means greatness. It is a quality of being outstanding; it is not a trait, hence it cannot be inherited. People who are excellent are mostly admired or envied without people spending time to think about why and how they were excellent.
As a student, to achieve academic excellence is not a child’s play. There are prices that need to be paid as there is no success without sacrifice- you either dillydally now and regret later or struggle now and enjoy later. Academic excellence entails taking the extra mile to achieve the set goals, avoiding any distractions and being on the tracks till one get to the finishing line. Scholars as fondly called do not jump down from heaven neither do they have bigger heads and wider brains. It only take being serious, focus, determine and dedicated since nothing good come with ease, anything good comes with sweat.
From experience, it has been observed that those who attain greatness or reach their peak academically, start from somewhere i.e doing one thing or the other, therefore the following tips; the standard of which is relative and not absolute are suggested for those who have ever looked at the achievements of others and thought “wow, if only I can do that”.
* Discover yourself: if you are the type that read and assimilate in the daylight don’t copy a friend that read at night as a night class without any knowledge gain is a total waste of time and effort. Discover when, where and how best you assimilate when reading and don’t walk in another man’s shoe. While some do best reading at the library, some prefer their room depending on individual difference.
Also, use SWOT analysis to discover your strength and weakness as well as opportunity and threat in your immediate environment. If you always perform well in calculation course- that’s your strength, capitalize on it to have the best grade in it and as much as possible and minimize your weaknesses in other courses since everything will be cumulated together. “UNLEASH THE GENIUS IN YOU”
* Set a SMART goal or objective: SMART here means setting objective that is specific, measureable, attainable, realistic and time bound. Objective is the ends at which all effort are directed, without which there will be no direction. Having discovered who you are as a student, the next is to set a realistic objective that is achievable within a specific period of time. Being one of the best in the class, having minimum of B’s or minimum of 3.5GP at the end of a session are some of the examples of objective to be aimed for student who want to achieve excellence in their respected field of study. “All successful people have a goal. No one can get anywhere unless he knows where he wants to go and what he wants to be or do” (Norman Vincent Peale)
* Planning: having an achievable objective is not enough, you have to follow it diligently and work towards the achievement of the set objective. Planning here entails putting all necessary things in place to make sure your aim/s is/are achieve. Robin Sieger said and I quote “Planning is as natural to the process of success as its absence is to the process of failure”.
Attend classes and make sure proper note is taken in the class to ensure that you flow with what is being taught in class. Also, hook up with those who are the best in your department or field and make worthy friends- “show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”. The choice of friend to move with is very important as it go a long way in determining ones performance.
Having a good relationship with lecturers is also a plan towards achieving ones goal as they give advice, share experience and guide a student when he/she needs to be guided.
* Be prayerful: the essence of prayer can never be over emphasise in achieving academic excellence. Student who had faced missing script or had so many irrational scores like 39,49 or 69 in a single semester will understand the importance of prayer even more. Be prayerful and never exclude GOD in your pursuit of greatness as success truly and solely comes from HIM. Remember the grace and mercy of God surpass every other thing so seek for it through obedience and faithfulness and these undoubtedly will brings knowledge, understanding, wisdom and guidance.
* Control: I stayed off campus during my 100Level days and I had the best result that earn me university scholar but in 200Level I moved to the university hostel and my result wasn’t as good as that of 100L which made my CGPA to drop a little. Having noticing this, I returned back to my initial place “off campus” in 300Level and since then the CGPA has been raising like yeast (LOL) - That’s control mechanism. Control is simply setting a standard, measuring and comparing the actual performance with the standard and taking corrective action. Control is important whether or not you meet your target. If you meet the target, the control is to ensure you maintain it. If you didn’t, the control is to figure out the causes and tackle it.
On this note, I wish to end saying the action you take and even those you refuse to take while in school will eventually add up to help you become a successful graduate or a struggling one.

Education / When God Decree Something For You by Yusluvajide10(m): 7:52pm On May 28, 2017
It all started in 2014, when I gain admission to kwarastatepolytechnic in accountancy department though I always dream to be a B.sc holder so I decide to forfeit the admission but I was advice by my elder brother not to forfeit the admission as I do not qualify for university admission that year due to my low jamb score and staying at home wouldn’t be a better option as he claimed, so I acted upon is advice by taking up the admission with the intension of writing another jamb the coming year…….
To cut the story short, I enroll for another jamb exam in Ilorin during my first semester ND1 programme but I choose lagos center for the jamb as I believe that I would have conclude my semester exam on before then base on the school academic calendar but unfortunately the academic calendar was adjusted for one reason or the other , we are now schedule to write our exam during the period of jamb exam……. Hmmmmmmm, see Gobe, NA WETIN WAN KO HAPPEN NA.. I thought when I heard the news of the changes, some week later sha they pasted our timetable and funny enough I had an exam[BAM 211] a 3unit course the same day I have my jamb exam in lagos. Sighs! This is a big state of confusion, what should I do now, I started seeking advice from people but majority of them want me to leave the jamb exam for my school exam as they always end the discussion by saying “ A bird at hand is better than 100 on the tree” but I will never listen I just want to go to university, After sometime I made my decision to go and write my jamb exam in lagos, the exam is on Wednesday so I travel to lagos on Tuesday evening after writing a paper[ACC112] that same day. I finally wrote the jamb exam with the anticipation of scoring high.
On Thursday morning, I was actually cleaning my shoe in readiness to move back to Ilorin as I have an exam on Friday too when a message entered my phone, chai! Catastrophe, the message read………. Dear yusuf, your jamb 2015 score is 177, Ghengen Ghengen, it seems I want to faint, I just wish the ground open and swallow me that fatefulday.
Under lack of morale I summoned courage, I pack my load and move back to Ilorin, to be sincere that semester exam is just a disastrous I coud not read well, loss of motivation and hope… after I ruggedly finish my semester exam I decided to take a rest for some days before going back to lagos for my semester break, if I could remember well, it was a day before going back to lagos when I heard that jamb internet score is quiet different from the one send on phone, I quickly rush to cyber café to check myself and to my utmost surprise I actually score 226 jamb do not add my English score before, I was so happy that day ehn as if got a paradise letter.
To cut the story short, I went for post utme in university of Ilorin but I was not admitted I even travel to akure to write FUTA post utme but still not admitted yet I do not give up because I keep on remembering the word of prophet mohammed that said STRIVE HARD TO WHATEVER YOU WANT AND YOU WILL SURELY MAKE IT…………..
Next semester began, anxiously waiting for my first semester result with carry over in bam211 which I missed due to jamb. They finally paste our result , surprisingly I did well than I ever expected but with one carry over. That is when I actually gear up………… yusuf, you can do it, you can make DISTINCTION . I Started reading, night class, sleepless night and other sacrifice and ALHAMDULILAH after my ND1 I had 3.42[upper] with carry over that reflect. This result really motivate me a lot in order to work harder in ND2 which I did.
In a nutshell, I finally graduated not only with DISTINCTION[3.55cgpa] but as the best graduating student in accountancy department 2014/15 session and that is when I realize that you can not grow without struggle, you can not develop strength without resistance or without challenging yourself. Now I took the 2017 jamb again which I score 240+. I still don’t give up on my university dream, am also patiently waiting for direct entry form. I will be using my jamb and direct entry this year to achieve my long term goal. I pray ALLAH[saw] crown my effort…………..
EMAIL; YUSLUVAJIDE10@GMAIL.COM, Pls, you can email me if you wanna render an assistant to me in achieving my goal/aim and I promise not to let you down. THANKS
