I Got admitted into some universities but I have decided to go for northumbria University, Newcastle(because of their World rank). Msc advanced Computer science 16 months. I have knowledge in programming languages and I have worked for few companies(full time + remote) . Is it possible to use the 20hrs/week given to me to work in my field during study?

Guy lower your shoulder. You were like us asking about studying in the U.K. sometime in 2019. Because you dey oxford or got admission there (according to you), no mean say you dey better pass everybody. Gragra no dey take person anywhere. Calm down and dey your dey

Please, let him share his opinion for other people. He's not doing gragra abeg. Different opinions matter in this journey especially for those who are already in UK to feed those who are trying to move. Remember, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

YES.
London ‘Campus’ is a mass of Shit.
The 2 year Masters in Project Management is the shittest.
If you doubt me, ask anyone that went there.

What about the one in Newcastle? Have you heard anything about them?

Is Northumbria University, London ‘Campus’.
Masters in Project Management (with advanced practice) a shit Uni and course. I did a 2yrs M. Sc course when Post study visa wasn't introduced and I know wot can be achieved during the 2yrs length. Paying £16000 to study in UK, and returning afta 1yr to 9ja no guarantee job ooo.

Can you explain better. You mean you came back to Naija after you studied at northumbria?

In other words, you don’t care if they go to the UK and get Shit Degrees right?
Let me point you to a shit course. Which can give them 2 year Masters.
Northumbria University, London ‘Campus’.
Masters in Project Management (with advanced practice).

Shit school. Shit course.
But they will have plenty time to help you with your child care, and get to know the system.

I hope this helps.

Northumbria University is shitty school?

Hey guys, just a thought. With the projection that hundreds will lose their jobs in the UK when this crisis is over, I was thinking, the probability of a student getting a 20hr per week job will be very minuscule.

What do you guys think?

It depends on the kind of job. Jobs lost will be more of non professional jobs. Look at sports now, nah the backroom staff like cleaners and related jobs go loose their jobs. Dem no fit sack their doctors, therapists and professionals. They will urgently need work force to help return the economy to its former position and if they don't have within the country, they'll have to look outside(where student who are skilled can also come in). I think once you are good at what you do, looking for jobs won't be difficult. I checked online for software development companies around the city my school is located and I have seen over 100 jobs posted on the site. So it all depends on the skill you have. My own view though

Please, someone should explain this better for me. It's about account statement.

My question is: Must the funds be in my personal account or I can just use my sponsor account statement directly? I read some comments concerning the account and I'm little bit confused. I'll be glad if someone can explain it better.

No you cant, unfortunately.
Tier 4 visa holders cannot engage in business or be self-employed, and the definition of self-employment includes freelancing, consulting, etc.

Ahhhh! So it's only intern I can do while in school or even after school? This is serious!

For those already in UK and their course is related to IT. Please, how easy is it to see a placement as software engineer.

Also, does UK allow a student to work online as a freelancer?

That’s the thing.

Like I said earlier, internationals tend to think two years is better because it buys them more time per say.

Well it does, to some extent but it’s not really worth it in the long run.

What internationals don’t understand is that even if you do 2 years Msc, if you don’t have employable relevant skills/experience,Nigeria will be awaiting you.

EU/British people barely do 2 years.
Universities are cashing out on gullible internationals big time.

Now they’re going to increase IHS fees from £300 to £620. So if they’re going for two years, that’s £620 x 2 which you will pay upfront in addition to your visa fees. When I arrived Uk, it was only £75 per year now it’s going to £620. These people don’t rate us o.

No offence but most people will end up doing menial jobs all through their two years post study visa. They just want blacks to be doing work that their citizens aren’t really interested in eg care work. Sad truth is that many will still go back to Nigeria or use their savings to continue studying.

U.K. is not a bed of roses but once you are here, thinking of going back to Nigeria after all the money spent, will just make you continue drowning in debts to stay back legally.

A friend just got offer of £9,250 instead of £13,750 for one year programme. My guy said no he wants two years which is £14,200 instead of £18k about I had to hold myself to not call him a fool. People should be wise please.

Are you already in UK.?
