My dear i feel ur pain cos am there too, but i ask myself, is there anything i can do for my parents that is too enough to appreciate them while they are still alive?? Some spend so much running into millions for their parents burial when they are dead, but cant cater for them while they are alive,cos they will say him or she owns them nothing, but when is time for burial u will see them spending so much.
My dear dont be feel depressed, finitely they are seeing wat u are doing, they are praying for u, they are crying for u for blessings, keep doing wat u doing for ur parents.

May God bless you more. However I think the best thing at time is to give them a little gap to avoid them noticing those period when you look sad because of the too much pressure. Because you maybe surprised in the future that of all the good things you think you have been doing, one or two of your siblings may forget when things get better for them but only remember few ugly things or attitude that you put up on the days the pressure is much on you. Even your parents can forget if one of your siblings becomes billionaire tomorrow and they start seeing the sacrifice of 100k today like peanut (5naira).

Living with them can be terrible

I swear. What pisses me off the most is that by 3:30am I am up and getting ready for work while they sleep. I get home in the evening to find them so relaxed watching TV. Last month, I told them to get their acts together because I am not the only one living in that house. I love my family but honestly I can't continue like this

My dear, it's not easy ooo. Sometimes I feel like running away. My case is worse because I live with them. I am so frustrated that for over a week now I have been giving them attitude, I don't talk to any of them. I just drop money for food and any other thing that needs to be paid, then off I go. The rent is almost due and they are all waiting for me to conjure the money from the sky.smh. The burden is just too much

They were on good terms but not that close for him to do what he did. My mom said when he called, his voice sounded like he was crying. So that should tell you how pained he was. He was driven by emotions

If he is terrible, I won't say it. I told my ex he is terrible in bed and that he is a two seconds man. Would you believe he called my mom to report to her that I called him a two seconds man? The insults my mom rained on me is a story for another day. She warned me never to say that to a man. I really regretted it but truth is I was so angry, I wasn't thinking clearly. If we enjoy it, the man will know.lol

A grandmother saw her grandson who was critically ill and was supposed to be in bed in the children's ward go downstairs. While the parents, doctor and nurse were with the boy, the grandmother took a sample to the lab to be tested. As she came out of the lab, she saw the sick boy descending the stairs. The lab and children's ward are all on the first floor. That was when she ran down to come ask us if we had seen the boy. We all said we we hadn't seen him, which was true. Not satisfied with our answer, she went outside to look, came back inside to look again. Strangely enough, the boy was still in bed in the ward the whole time. It was after she went back to ward that we had wailing some few minutes later. Normally, when we hear crying and wailing we know the patient is dead. And truly the boy was dead. Most people I spoke to about this incident said it's the boy's spirit the grandma saw. Just like some nairalanders have also pointed out the same thing. That incident will forever remain a mystery to me. Hope it's clear now. I was trying not to make the post lengthy that's why I left some things out.

Lol not that much. But you get to see and hear things when u work in a hospital. The most heartbreaking ones are children abused physically and sexually and watching some of them die from the abuse.

Your story brings to mind one hospital experience I had in 2012 at one general hospital in Ajegunle. I had gone for an hernia operation which was successful as I was convalescing on my bed with a drip attached to my hand, a young man was brought in one night. He was complaining of stomach problems and inability to pass out faeces. The following evening, the young man died while the doctor was tryna flush out the excess stuff in his distended stomach. As they were trying to resuscitate him, I saw a shadow figure in my peripheral vision pass beside the window which had the shape and height of the man who just died!!!!
I spent only one week in that ward and witnessed four deaths and one traumatic health crisis

A man and lady walked into the hospital to make enquiries. After explaining the process they need to go through, the man said they will like to see the doctor. As I was in the process of registering them, a lady came down the stairs, grabbed the man and began slapping him. The man couldn't free himself from the lady's grips and she wouldn't stop slapping him. Before we could say jack, the lady he came with had disappeared. It was after they were separated that the lady explained that their son had been on admission for a week. They had tried several times to get him to come see his son but to no avail. But rather had the effrontery to bring his girlfriend to the hospital. Chai, some women are strong.

So my colleagues and I were on night shift when a little boy was rushed in. Apparently, the boy had been sick and throwing up for days before the parents and grandma brought him to the hospital. The boy was in a critical condition, so the doctor and nurse decided to stabilize him first then refer him to another hospital. Some few minutes later, his grandma ran down to the ground floor to ask us where her grandson was. We told her we hadn't seen him. The woman kept insisting her grandson just descended the staircase and she saw him. My friend told her the boy is upstairs in the children's ward, how on earth can he be downstairs. She went outside to check, still not convinced. She came back inside, looked around and went back up. Some few minutes later the boy was dead. Oh boy, come see the way fear catch us. It was crazy and scary

I remember that day like it was just yesterday. I have a job now and he is married. But anytime I upload a picture on WhatsApp, he calls to tell me I look different now and that he has always liked me and still likes me. And my mom doesn't fail to rub it in that I have changed and he should see the new me in person.lol. Time and chance do happen to all. It will get better, let's continue to hang in there.

Hahahahahaha I didn't put in an application oo. He asked how I was doing and i told him I wasn't okay because I had alot on my mind. Only for him to come over and tell me " I can't date you because you aren't working and it will be a burden to me. Besides I have my own problems to deal with ". It really hurt because he was my crush since childhood. But today the story is different and thank God.

2. Materialism is crazy but people must be honest with others. Let the guy know that she is materialistic, expect him to cater for her (not clear in this case though), has some requirements, etc.

3. No Nigerian guy or gal should get into a poverty-minded relationship. What I mean is, both should be working and looking to build!

I agree. But when it happens that way, it's best you go about it in a mature way without lowering the person's self esteem. No one knows tomorrow, so we should be mindful of how we turn people down.
