Bless you, agree with you totally. Burying our heads in the sand like ostriches won't make the problem go away. A lot of people are putting up facades to fool loved ones that they are ok, but are actually dying inside and silently screaming for help which goes unheard.

Thank you for your honesty. Mental illness is real but the way we handle it in our part of the world is very sad. The UK news portals always leave a number at the end of their stories about mental health and urge readers who are in the same situation to call for help. But what do we see here on nairaland? As soon as the issue is brought up, one silly person will just type "kill yourself" or other nasty comments that doesn't help the depressed one in anyway. It's about time we tackle mental illness seriously in Africa and stop blaming witches and wizards.

my wife delivered through C/s recently, it's not easy.
she first of all tried normal delivery, for two hours wifey was screaming.I just couldn't stand it(felt like my heart was about to leave my body).
Later the doctor recommended C/s, they had to now rush her to theatre from the labour room . They tried putting her to sleep, but wifey was still half awake, she was screaming all through the c/s.The nurses had to hold her hands and legs.

was an experience for me.
C/s patients take longer to heal.
our baby is 3weeks old.

Sorry about that, hope she is getting better. There is this obstetrician at the hospital, all the patients tell you they dont feel anything after he has performed the CS. He is really good, probably because he worked abroad all his life before relocating to Ghana.

Just imagine my sister, I had the to educate the women in my church about CS.. One delivered 2 years ago through CS and they were busy saying, in this Church, no one delivers through CS. That they deliver like Hebrew women, I was mad.

Na dem sabi. I remember one doctor telling me, he can never allow his wife go through labour induced delivery. He was like " how can i watch her carry the baby for nine months with all the stress and illness involved, then at the end have her push. I am not that wicked".lol. I made up my mind that very night we had the discussion.

In an uncompilicated or even complicated pregnancy, the choice of delivery should be discussed between the obstetrician and the woman.
The main thing is to have a healthy mother first, and then a healthy baby.

The day I was to deliver my son. I went into labour the previous day, my sister! Labour show me pepper oga dey cry outside as them don book me CS. Na so I begin cry o, Doctor please come and bring out the baby!! Them do CS, I dey alive my lovely handsome love is alive. I no care if na push or normal. CS all the way! I can't risk my baby's live with my tight pelvic...

Lol we thank God. The day i told my mom about my decision, the statement she made was so the doctors could have given me the option of CS but they didnt, and rather made me push out the triplets. Oyindidi, 3 to 5 months after my siblings were born, my mom was still bleeding

CS all the way. You should see women in labour arrive at the hospital, charley no be easy. It scares me like crazy. Had a nasty argument with one of the midwives when she was insisting i go into the labour room and do verification for woman in labour. Told her point blank i wont do it but will wait till she delivers. She kept shouting "are you not a woman? Won't you give birth?" . Madam the only labour i want to see is mine

Please start ante-natal early as soon as you discover you are pregnant.Obey all instructions given including medication you are to take and NOT to take.
Please if you are told you would need a Caesarian section,don't try to force vaginal birth.Health of mother and baby most important.

100% truth. It saddens me when you tell pregnant women they have to undergo CS and they refuse then proceed to speak in tongues. I am a christian myself but such behaviour baffles me. One woman's husband threatened to beat the obstetrician up if he mentioned CS again. Working in a hospital isnt easy because sometimes you just wish you can slap the ignorance out of some people.

Exactly. Kudos to my mom. She would walk into the bathroom while taking my bath and ask me to wash down there for her to see. Let me shock u,yesterday was my off day, ate banana and groundnut, showered and stayed in bed all day naked without any clothes, showered In the evening again and still didn't wear clothes again.

We need to allow fresh breeze into that place once in a while. I have friends that don't even wear panties on a normal day when going out except on menstrual period days.

Going pantiesless and naked in ur room, where ure all by urself is bae trust me.
