The women, allegedly lured with the promise of
good jobs in Europe, were first flown to Mexico or
Brazil, travelling on false identity documents.
From there, they were flown to Paris, then
smuggled into Spain to work in the sex trade,
police say.
Five women who were victims of the sex ring were
freed in the raids.
Police found one member of the gang performing
an abortion on one of the five women, reports the
BBC's Madrid correspondent, Tom Burridge.
Hidden goods
Arrests were made across Spain - in Madrid,
Toledo, Cantabria and Palma de Mallorca.
More than 100 vans concealing luxury goods were
also seized.
The gang used the vans to launder their profits and
send them back to Lagos, police say.
The vans, with dark-tinted windows and welded
doors, were stocked full of beer but had luxury
items hidden deeper inside.
Goods worth an estimated 5m euros (£4.1m;
$6.6m) were found in 94 vans seized in Madrid and
another 26 in the port of Valencia, including high-
end televisions and cases of alcohol.
Police say the gang was formed more than 20
years ago in Nigerian universities and was also
known for sending so-called Nigerian letters by
email, asking recipients to send money.
Eight of the 25 people arrested were in Spain
illegally, they say.

it's just natural, I think it's the same with the ladies. when a lady walks into a room where let's say 5 girls (friends) and a guy are seated, she wld first of all greet her female friends maybe with hugs b4 she wld even attempt looking at the guys face. santuse: I think you are getting it wrong here, you don't expect 50 employees to go to a stadium to take employment letter, the 13,000 teachers that was employed had there orientation at different days and in batches, needed to assemble at a place for them to be addressed by there employer and the stadium is an appropriate place for them to assemble.

If federal govt should honour that agreement at this point in time, then they should expect other associations to start popping up and demanding greatly even at more dire circumstances.



This strike could be called off, the ASUU could be meeting with FG while lectures are going on in our various institutions.




If you are in support that FG should pay the amount ASUU is demanding, you may come back here to scream that an important project has been abandoned by the federal govt and that this administration is clueless.

don't think you actually read through my post. What you proposed was exactly what ASUU did. The agreement was made in 2009 and the strike is coming up 4yrs later. ASUU neva try? Fgn had a whole 4yrs to honour an agreement.

berem: It's rather unfortunate that ASUU strike won't be called off soon. The President is already occupied with his selfish ambition to contest in 2015.Nigerian students will have to wait longer. Time to look for vacation job and keep oneself busy. Too bad!!

are u aware the ASUU/Fgn agreement was signed in 2009? So why didn't they incorporate the agreement in this year's budget. Simply put, Fgn has no intentions of honouring the agreement.

it's working fine now
