We have some of our inverters (3.5kva and 5kva) that consumes 28w to 30w for idle consumption which is good. You can dm for proof.

Indian inverters are very rugged. The problem is they come with very low charging current. You can integrate with solar panels to make up for that.

You are better off with Indian brands.

Chinese has this bad habit of designing system such that when they have issues, you get a new one.
I will recommend vil power, easy maintainance and support.

The customer already made his concerns known before ordering based on previous order. You should have told him the truth that you have no control the cable length as you are a vendor or tell him the actual length of a labelled 100 yard cable is actually 80 yards. I know that is the standard practice among those alaba international sellers.
Even after the customer complaint you should have simply apologised and offer to refund the extra N20k. This would have made him happy and a repeat customer. You have now only now lost a long term customer but also businesses he would have brought you in future, all because of N20k.

This cables he's complaining about, he called me and I told him I will call a friend that have 4 core. I specifically told him I don't have it and we agreed I should ask a friend.
My friend sent him the 1st one. He said it's not complete and they have buried it already so there's no way to measure.
So he ordered another. My friend said he would only cut the cable in my presence, I don't have that time so I sent one of my boys. They measured in his presence and he confirmed 50yards plus small jara.
Cable was sent to benin on Sunday.
This Benin man called yesterday that cable is not complete, shouting on the phone blablabla. I told him to hold on.
I called my friend y he didn't cut complete cable, he responded that I should ask my boy that it was in his presence they cut this cable.
I called my boi and he said they cut 50yards plus jara in his presence.
I reverted to Benin man that they cut complete cable from here and my boi is also confirming it. He flared up and started shouting this is the second time and he's sending it back to Lagos. I told him to hold on. Called my boi and my friend again and they said they sent 50 yards complete. I called oga back and he said I'm cheating him and he would call me out on nairaland.
So here we are. In as much as u are a customer, u can always dialogue man to man and resolve issues, I won't tolerate you shouting on me and calling me names cos of one small misunderstanding that can be resolved with simple " what do think we can do now".

The truth about inverter buys in Nigeria. You are on your own.
Basically if you have the money to buy high end inverters eg deye... just buy extra panel and parts before it is shipped to you from abroad.

If you know you are not balanced financial pls I will advice don't go for high end inverters. Stick with inverters that can be easily repaired in Nigeria. Easily in the sense not to expensive to repair.

We repair inverters for our customers. Warranty(free) and non warranty ( with a fee).

Theres none of our inverters we cannot fix.

Omo I don't know both the buyer and seller but I'll tell you something that has happened to my consultant friend, he's into snail business and had orders.

He sent 150 pcs counted, stocked from Benin to Warri, the buyer received about a 100. Something similar happened when he shipped an order with the Snails not complete, he had to send the balance. Eventually we found out that the culprit were from the bus park, shortchanging him as soon as he left the park.

So however this case is, you ought to have sent the corresponding cable.

Cable is measured completely from our end. I have no idea how it became shorter when it got to benin. There's notin to resolve less than 5 mins conversation of its complete and it's not complete, he's solution is to spoil my reputation so he claims. As u can see theres notin to resolve. To all users out there, for inverter if you don't have the funds for big brands like Victron or Deye, and you are keen on warranty, go for TBB(Far better than most brands with 2 good years warranty) or go for felicity (same 2 years warranty).

Any other brand should be Zinox iPowerPlus (with 1 year warranty). This is Axpert clone which is also a good brand.

This warranty thing, we need to educate Nigerians, warranty doesn't cover all kind of fault (only manufacturer error). I have seen people abuse their inverter (overload , bad input voltage, short circuit etc) and claim warranty all in the name of customer always right.
I have experience with many brands. I have one soelix that they can't even find the board for more than 2 years now.
However some brands can charge u double price for their products and may or may not tend to certain kind of faults.

Back to the matter. Stop giving Sorotec bad pr because of ur negligence. This man had 2 issues with d Sorotec inverter he bought.
Bus over voltage alarm
and touch button issues.
The bus over voltage can be stopped by reducing ur lithium battery absorb and float voltage.
The touch button issue is however not his fault.
The touch buttons keep pressing itself as soon as mains comes in, but this issue can be solved by connecting your earth to the inverter. After several complains and his earth not solving the issue, I applied for a touch button from Sorotec in Which they sent me another spare touch button.
When the spare part came I called him to send his inverter, this man didn't send the inverter becos he can't afford to be in the dark for 2 days. I then sent him the spare part to fix it in Benin since he doesn't want to send it to Lagos cos he doesn't have a spare he can use.
This man didn't install the spare part I sent him only for him to call me after some months (I can't remember exactly ) that the inverter packed up. He has blown the MOSFETs and igbt. I told him we don't tend to MOSFETs and igbt as under warranty but he should send it. He sent it back with the spare part he didn't fix. I told him if he had fixed this thing, the touch button won't press itself and scatter his settings. I fixed this inverter with over 70k and sent it back to him and the touch button problem was solved and he also reduced his charging voltage wch solved the bus over voltage error. He is someone I know for a while, so it's not a big deal for me to spend that amount on some1 I thought was a friend.

So What else do you want from me or Sorotec.
Why the bad pr. Several people use Sorotec without issues.

There was some wisdom in the plenty english nah. No inverter subjected to temperature can do PF 1. Just because the chinese no name brands don't put in their inverters doesn't mean that they don't derate. As the temperature rises in the inverters operating environment and under load, it will derate its output. There is always a loss in the energy conversion of DC to AC. The law of physics is universal. It happens to all inverters. But Victron is being more open by telling you exactly how and at what temperatures it is able to output its capacity. The issue i guess was you making Victron to look like the only inverter that derates its ouput instead of aspiring it as a normal convention that applies to all inverters and not just victron.

Like I said we are all saying thing. I never made victron look like the only inverter that can't do PF of 1. Infact all them can't do PF of 1, I was jst saying on behalf of local consumers. I know the kind of people I deal with locally. I kid you not they will buy it for this sole purpose and load steady 4.95kw, they will also come here to complain blablabla.

All power electronics derate for temperature and this has nothing to do with the power factor.

So you may have an Asian origin inverter where the maker fails to publish the temperature derate curves but the fact of physics remains and cannot be escaped.

For a practical example and as a guide to understanding the internals, the 5kva Victron actually has a ~5kw rated transformer in it -
the manufacturer expects you to load a max of 4kw at 25 degree C however there is a 30% overload (for up to 30 minutes) ability built in.

This overload capacity is there for trained installers to understand and use (not abuse ) properly and is one of the reasons behind the very positive field reviews and testimonials of the robustness of the Victron units.

As a point of fact, per design, the units will shut down in case of over-temperature in the internals long before an actual electrical overload occurs.

I hope this puts paid to any fears.
