OP, how old are you? you should have outgrown the hatred if you have had the chance to leave home to the Uni or start earning a living.
I hated my dad back then because he always beat me. I was freaking stubborn and I was the first born so I get whopping for my siblings faults.
Those beating makes me strong and able to stand on my own. I had good days with my dad and sometimes he goes from 0-100 and get angry at me.

BUT the moment I left lagos to my university, it reduce and I was a woman of my own. Then I moved to the United States and Can you believe my dad calls me for advice and I decide everything for him now.

you are prolly still young and you have understand that life is a phase. you will outgrow the beating and become your dad's boss.

Get close to your dad and you will find out that he is the best. your dad only believed in beating to make you learn lesson. some parent don't beat.

I bet if my dad didn't gave me beating, I for don become something else oooo chaiii.

Yea, you are right. My budget is $950, 1k max all inclusive. Based on what we hear about yankee over here, I was hoping that $950 would get me a nice 1 bedroom condominium with stainless steel appliances and granite counter top in an opulent area. Well, guess I'm day dreaming.
you can only get such in TEXAS

I dont understand nigeria again.
Goverment slapping everyone face with poverty by stealing all the funds.
A comedian that is suppose to relieve people and made them laugh is dashing out slaps instead.
COME to USA and slap a security officer, you will be sued for battery. That is a misdemeanor. If he was harmed by the slap, he can also sue for damages.

Can you call the embassy to know if the visiting visa is still valid since you now have F1 visa.

There is no relationship between your F-1 student and B-2 tourist visas. Neither one cancels the other.

if she travel 30 days before school resumes, her F1 will be stamped because she is expected to resume classes

if she travels more than 30 days before, her visit visa will be stamped but she must have a tangible reason for coming amd she risk being sent back home to wait till 30 days before resumption . if she successfully enters, she is not expected to depart the USA. Her i-94 will show her date of entry

CBNL2014:
Visa Approved yesterday morning - 6.30am appointment
No GMAT, No GRE, No Toefl. . My fears all along were this standardized test which I did not write because I have heard it boost ones chances of getting a visa.
I was interviewed by the lady in Window 2 ( you get mind oo) big risk embarassed
Me: Good morning
VO: Hello (With a straight face).
VO: Where are you going to in the US?
Me: I am going to University of Nebraska at Kearney
VO: What is your course of study?
Me: I am pursuing a Masters degree in Business Administration with concentration in General Management
VO: Who is sponsoring?
Me: My Dad
VO: What does he do? (She was typing very fast on her system) (THIS moment she think she will decodes ,she will deny you)
Me: He is a Financial Marketing Consultant to X (Big Financial Institution). He also retired as a Deputy Director from the same institution.
VO: Did you write any standardized test (A question I was expecting)
Me: No, My admission was based on my past academic performances and my years of professional work experience which had leadership career progression. (I have worked in two different places within the last 5 years)
VO: What did you study in school?
Me: I studied Mechanical Engineering at University of Ilorin and I have a Masters degree in Engineering control systems and instrumentation from University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom (she raised her head up the first time to look at me in the face; I looked into her eyes too since I have nothing to hide lol). ( she looks you say this guy dey Jonz. I for deny you now but you don go UK before
VO: Why MBA?
Me: I want to pursue a master’s degree in Business administration so as to acquire managerial skills and advance into a senior engineering and management position in the organization I work. (I intentionally kept my answer short). good answer bro
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to three schools. University of Nebraska, Kearney, University of Nevada at Reno and Bowie State University, Bowie Maryland.
VO: What courses would you be offering?
Me: (I envisaged they could ask during my preparation so i knew all the courses already) Leadership and Organizational behaviour, Operation Management, Strategic analysis and decision making, Financial administration, Integrated Capstone experience, Financial accounting (I went blank of the rest at this point) she asked this question waiting for you to flop and she denies you but you flow well
VO: Where do you work?
Me: I work for X (Small Company) and I am the head of projects and procurement.
VO: How big is your company?
Me: We have total staff strength of 60 (I stuttered a bit because I was not expecting this kind of question)
VO: Where do you intend to stay in the USA?
Me: I intend staying at Mantor Hall complex, University of Nebraska at Kearney
VO: Looking at her screen, how come you were denied a visa to UK in 2012 despite you did your graduate study there (She took my passport and flipped through to the page where the date was stamped)
Me: (Another question that hit me unaware, no single visa on the passport I gave her except denial visa stamp). I was informed that I did not include my statement of account despite it was supposed to be a sponsored trip and I was told to reapply. But ever since then, I have had no reason to reapply. she could still deny you at this point if you say something that doesn't make sense. The lady was obviously not approving it
VO: How did you find out about the school?
Me: The school was recommended to me by a senior colleague I worked with while in X (Oil Multinational). He also did his graduate studies at University of Nebraska. (For my mind, I say this interview no go finish today) this was the beginning of real interview. all those other questions were drills for denial THIS should have been the 2nd question if she wanted to approve you
VO: How long did you stay in the UK?
Me: I was in UK for a period of 2years before I came back to Nigeria. ( ok she think, make I approve this guy make he no curse me. I don drill am finish
VO: She looked at her screen for about 40secs (Which looked like 30mins to me) and said your visa has been approved.

I wrote something in front so people can get an overview of what was going on. I still believe you can convince a VO to approve you if you keep giving steady and sensible answers. Be confident and don't blab. THE guy already knew he was probably getting a deNial but he stayed on point with his answers.

This is one of those steady interview I have read here, the guy kept flowing even when the interview was getting long. GIve the VO a reason to give you the visa.

scholarship, exams , statement of account etc doesn't get you the approval. YOUR confidence and voice earns you. as much as we work on getting exams and funding, let's work on our smartness et la confiance

Just start packaging your $265 through WU money order ($30 penalty fee for each time it bounced + they will never accept credit card from you again or just cancel your exam outrightly and get banned, afterwards just go and get police and get the guy arrested he has been doing it for too long.

Hello house, please does being engaged prove enough strong ties to Nigeria?
Also, VO asks most people what they will be working on...as in research project and all.
I have my I-20 but before I contact my advisor and select courses for the semester, the school advised I must have gotten a visa...what do I do in case of being asked such a question?

Kindly advise please.
being engaged add little to your ties, plus there's no proof of engagement. Being married is the best. anyone can get rid of engagement after they reach USA.

you need to research well on the kind of course you are plenty to do. if it's a masters program, you need to know what area of interest you want to look into.

go to your intended school website and look at the courses you will be taking in your first semester

Honestly your question does not make sense, whether he has scammed somebody here before or not is inconsequential, his profile was posted in a website set up to expose romance scammers.

He used his email address for fraudulent active and here you blaming everybody else apart from him?

so it's actually legal on nairaland to start posting other people pictures, age and whatever website they are. I will start doing that then.

I am not blaming everyone, my post is not in support of anyone. I am only asking to see if the rules on NL are just for show so that anytime I see anyone name anywhere I can also post it on NL.

a lot of Nigerians guys in the USA are on dating site trying to get an American lady to do their papers, let's be realistic, that's what most of them do. that is there own way of making ends meet. i dont criticise people about what life they chose to live. stevecrun is not the only victim. all this people on NL are on one dating site or another. GLASS house. don't throw stone

so justwise, my posts were just to confirm if rule no 10 is invalid and I can start surfing the Internet looking for people name, address, website etc and post it on NL anytime we have a face off.

Are you really serious? Was that a joke?

That is stevecrun's email address and i have known that email address since 2012 and what he was upto with it.
my question is has he ever used that email to scam anyone or solicit on NL. I am not here to support anyone. as long as the person didn't scam anyone on nairaland or the affair happened on NL ; I do not think his private life should be on NL. people do all sort of shady stuff in real life, it's their life and what they choose. nairaland is not state CID ,NDLEA or efcc to detect people who have false life.

I believe the rule number 10 need to be effective. it's unfair to come here and post people visa page, people full name, age etc

how would you feel if I type your email address or full name on Google, look for anything related to you, ask mutual friend in Facebook about you and post your pictures name and age on nairaland. isn't that defamation and privacy disclosure.

Can you guys let all this stop please?

It seems the thread had lost it's glory anytime you'all start this e-attacks.
I don't know what might have transpired between them but it is wrong for anyone to post other people privacy. anyone could be yahoo yahoo, 419, thief, kidnapper etc. as long as the person didn't do it to you , then it's should be private. THE screen shot shows 2013 and that was even before the guy came to USA.

@ justwise, Rule 10 says Don't violate the privacy of any people e.g. by posting their private pics, info, or chats without permission. I expect you should do something to this distracting post.

THIS thread was sane way back 2012/2013. it helped me a lot and other people but in past months, a lot of bad eggs has made the people who contribute meaningfully stay away from the thread. no one is a saint, you shouldn't post other people life on NL to stab them.
