rollyfemmy: please call me for inspection..and see for yourself....The funniest thing is that serious buyers call and inspect and make payment..others just use their Jobless period to run their mouth as they like....Extra 300k is that easy to come by abi? Do you think all cars that are put for sale are problematic or owners needs money??...it is people like you that only sell their cars because it's giving problem...Am sorry i dont sell such, if i have such i will tell the buyer b4 purchase..am plain and open to my customers...Dont because one person played you before and make your conclusion that others are like that...This is my business...i build relationships with it and not enemies..cheersI can now confirm you are one of those greedy nairaland middle men. A naija seller/dealer will always say "just buy and drive" for a car the owner wants to put behind him. Reason for sale? owner wants to upgrade, relocate. This subject was raised sometime ago on this forum, but did not get the attention it deserved. This topic is particular about the prepaid customers. I'd describe it as an irresponsible arrangement which stipulates that the customer pays N500 monthly charge irrespective of power consumption. This is happening in a country where workers' minimum wage is 18k. I strongly urge well meaning and patriotic Nigerians to condemn this unjustifiable act against our masses. Many PHCN customers are not currently aware of this deduction as some might not be litrate enough to understand the breakdown on payment slips. It would be easy to believe this is a ploy by PHCN mgt to continue deriving the ilegitimate 'booty' same as they were getting from the fraudulent practices which characterised the post paid arrangement. Nairalanders should pls drum this issue to their state assemlies and even to Natioal Assenbly. WE CAN MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES!! |

PHCN new tariff and charges are anti-masses, and criminal in all sense. There were demostrations across the country after the recent sudden increment in the pump price of PMS(petrol. It's normal to imagine why PHCN tariff wasn't greeted with such protests. Well i'm of the opinion that many Nigerians are ignorant about the level of importance the electricity sector deserves. That sector needs more attention than the ever popular petroleum sector. Needless to say the level of corruption and inefficiency in that sector are also more mind bugging. Below is a summary of the payments recently made recently in a PHCN marketing company. TENDERED AMOUNT: N 1,500.00 DEBT COLLECTED: N 0.00 TOTAL PAID: N 450.00 VAT: N 21.43 COST: N 428.57 37.7KWh @ N11.37/KWhr TOTAL UNITS: 37.7KWhr TAX GRAND TOTAL: N 71.43 FIXED CHARGE GRAND TOTAL: N 1,050.00 TIME BASED FIXED CHARGES COST: N 1,000.00 TAX: N 50.00 TOTAL: N 1.050.00 The questions now are: 1. What are the legislators doing about it?(I presume many do not even know about this development). 2. What warrants the imposition of the monthly charge of N500, irrespective of the power supply situation? Why should the consumers pay a daily CHARGE of N16.67( divide 500 by 30) to a company such as PHCN? |

This subject might interest most NL's especially regular auto section visitors. It should be disturbing to any vehicle owner/seller/dealer when his/her post do not get any serious attention. The reasons are not far from the following: 1. Wrong vehicle info- A seller must know and have all CORRECT Basic vehicle info like MAKE,MODEL,YR,ENGINE(No of cylds-V or Inline)MODEL,Etc. An instance is why should a prospective buyer take a posted ad describing a 1999/2000 BMW 528i as 2004 BMW 528i V6 serious? This sends wrong signals to the buyer(s)- the seller is either deceptive, ignorant or both. 2. Poor picture quality- A serious seller should use more of Picture than words to mkt their vehicles. Check out ebay pix. It doesn't have to be tens of pix but those that can tell the vehicle's 'story' to a large extent. Do not miss out the dents and scratches(especially Eko used vehicles)  . If the faults are hidden in the ads, they'll likely be exposed during physical inspection/test-drive 3. 4. 1 Like |

Hi NLders,past governments in Nigeria at various times imposed age limit for vehicles(especially private) being imported into the country. A country yet to manufacture any motorised means of transportation after more than half a century of gaining independance. It bugs ones mind as to why a government would embark on such pronouncements. A well-maintained twenty-year old car could be more reliable and more cost effective to own by most middle to low income earners. There's no gain saying the bulk of vehicles used for commercial purposes fall within this bracket. Our borders continually recieve these "BANNED" vehicles and the "HARD WORKING" Naija customs manage to grab some to display on national tv. Fellow NLders, is this policy helping us in anyway? What is the current status of this policy? |
