Hi everyone.. nice to be here, i drive an accord cl7 (manual tranny) but wish to upgrade to a bmw.. there is this e46 325ti (pic is attached) bm direct toks deal i saw for 1.3m, i test drove it and the problems i found was it didn't accelerate well and when i put it on D and remove my leg frm the brake, the car will be jerky until i press d gas pedal wch actually don't respond well untill i have accelerated far enough.. when in neutral, the engine will be jerky. Aside these issues, the car is very clean.

1) what could be the issue?
2) can it easily be solved?
3) how much is the 2.5l m54 engine?
4) can i swap the 2.5l to a 3.0l in the future if i choose to?
I suggest you perform scan of the DME and TCM because there are many components/sensors that could create such scenarios when bad. It could be something as simple as MAF or as complex as gearbox issues.

Don't mind the sadist mod. I wonder why seun would make a character like mynd44 a mod in a supposedly reputed forum like Nairaland.
Mods in forums like this should not be biased in performing his/her role of selecting content for the front page. Professionalism must be seen deployed especially in this era of high political activities and discussions on matters which threatens the unity of the nation.
I know Seun has put in lot to bring Nairaland to its present state, he shouldn't allow followers/members to start getting negative impressions about the forum.

Thanks for pointing that out. The reports actually were at different times.

elgramz:
Check the date on the story you posted. There's no controversy, Peter Obi had not joined the party as at the time the story was written. After he joined, other candidates stepped down for him and he emerged the candidate of the party. It's the same party chairman Mr Julius Abure that handed over the party flag to Peter Obi.

PoliticsRe: Amaechi Clarifies Narrow/standard Gauge Lines Controversy by Zeroid105: 9:19am On Mar 15, 2021
It amazes me that someone in the capacity of minister of transportation does not have basic knowledge of time, distance and speed calculations/estimations. Port Harcourt to Damaturu is roughly 1230km. On a standard guage rail, which is claimed to operate at 120km/hr, the travelling time will be 10hr15mins. The narrow guage at 100km/hr will take 12hr18mins. So the difference in time of travel is 2hr3min and not 30mins Our politicians should learn to be smart in trying to justify whatever decision or policy they plan to implement.

pls I need advice from experience people here.

car develop overheating while driving, radiator hose connecting engine got damage,
hose was replaced and also water pump.

the overheating still reoccur after few minute drive.,
I took the car for scanning this morning,
scanner indicate say na thermostat.
new thermostat was installed dis afternoon base on manufacturers recommendation.

yet this overheating did not stop.
anybody experiencing this now or before should pls share is exeperience with the house.

less I forget. car is 2005 E60 engine
Any work on that engine which involves radiator/coolant/hoses/thermostat must be concluded with a proper bleeding process to ensure air bubbles are expelled from the system. Tell ur mechanic to do the bleeding. If he isn't a Bimmer tech , please opt for a diff mechanic. You can also get literatures from google, videos on youtube.

Hello fellow bima lovers.....

I would be sharing with you my experience on my BMW E90 328XI SULEV.

Sometime last week i got a notification on my idrive system warning me that my fuel pump pressure was low and my engine automatically shut down. I tried starting the car, but it would only be rolling but won't start. After about 30mins, it started and i was able to manage it back home. The next day it repeated the same issue but this time it refused to start. I had to push the car to the nearest mechanic workshop.

The next day i called my parts dealer at ladipo to send the fuel pump for my car, i was told they had three types and i then decided to send him the picture of my fuel pump. It turned out my car was SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle). The fuel pump(Tokunbo) cost 25k. They brought the fuel pump but it still repeated the same issue. The mechanic then asked i changed it and bring another one which i did the next day but still got the same result. I was getting depressed when they said i should buy a brand new one which costs about 90k.

I decided to do my own research via Youtube videos and google, i discovered the issue was the fuel injector relay or fuel pump relay. I immediately requested for one at ladipo but the one they sent was not the same as the one in my car. It fits but the car rpm won't raise and the idrive wrote engine power low/ malfunction. I then sent a sample of my own relay which i eventually got for 2k. Immediately i put the relay, everything came back to normal and the case closed.

My fellow bima lovers learn to do your personal research on your car before naija mechanic would turn it to kabu kabu.

1st pic: fuel pump
2nd pic: fuel pump relay.
Best way to go. As the saying goes: MAKE GOOGLE YOUR FRIEND! Many of our mechanics don't even make attempts to do research in areas they often face challenges. They are mostly responsible for the erroneous impression people have about certain brands. Descriptions like "expensive to maintain", "problematic", "too consume fuel" or "electrical wahala" are often used to express their technical inadequacies. I am glad many Nigerians are doing their own research before and even after taking their cars to the workshops. Imagine the difference between 90k and 2k in this Naija time and season! Not even considering the parts/components they will dismatle and not assemble properly.

Hmmmm. Violence seems to be the operating electoral template in southern Nigeria. My southern brothers in the game are far too desperate. They have more frivolous pending legal cases relating to politics as well as recorded acts of violence/arson. The do ur die philosophy is so much in their gene.

PoliticsRe: Opinion; 6 Years Single Term For Elective Political Offices In Nigeria. by Zeroid105: 4:09pm On Feb 27, 2019
It is a very good idea that will go a long way to address wastages of our lean resources for electoral process. Similar proposal was put forward by GEJ but could see the light of the day for obvious reasons. He was deficient in power to push it through the NASS. The current cycle is wasteful and does not afford the elected officer time for meaningful governance because before he or she get settled, campaign bells have started ringing for next election. Effective time for governance is actually 1.5-2yrs in our current 4-yearly cycle.

This is really commendable. More of such projects in other parts of this country will ease a lot of burdens on the masses. I give it to the honourable minister for delivering on his presented plan. Fashola's portfolio should be split for better performance.

Goodluck Jonathan did not build 12 universities. He refurbished! There is a difference between building from scratch and refurbishing.

East west road was not done by Goodluck Jonathan. As at 2014 it was not done.

We should stop lying because of politics. I will not support my party when they lie.
TravelRe: 5-Junction In Benin City When It Rains: See What It Looks Like (Photos) by Zeroid105: 1:52pm On Oct 16, 2018
We lack maintenance culture in all spheres. The very few available infrastructure sparingly provided are not maintained due to the genetic makeup of those in authority. This location in Benin was notorious for far more serious flooding than what is shown in those pictures before Oshiomole worked on that area. The Comrade Gov as he was fondly called was praised for solving that seemingly insurmountable environmental challenge. A simple blockage of a manhole/covet can cause what is shown in that picture. I can see some irrational post trying so hard to give the impression the immediate past Gov didn't fix that problem. It's high time we as people realise everything should not be about politics. Let's be more objective in presenting our opinions. Sad to learn people lost her/his lives in the floods.
