its a shame you just wasted 1.30hrs of (am not sure if its a life or an existence of an irresponsible moving body) but anyway, you wasted it, in reading and replying when you saw it wasn't addressed to nani667 or abi your surname na 'bloatware?

The truth is; Am still to grasp around the annoying reason behind the manufacturing acts of companies like samsung, tecno, gionee and others whom engaged in a custom or should I call it "an annoying and appalling tradition" of stocking their phones with apps which are easily gotten from PLAY STORE or any other means IF NEED BE.
Is it not enough that there are apps like play store, Google service, gmail and few others by default integrated on the Android system? (since android is owned by google and I doubt anyone can enjoy android without those Google apps).
Why pile more apps in the very thin android system storage and cause all types of difficulty in the measures of lags, apps signature confliction, need to root to eradicate the useless apps which in turn voids your warranty.
In Gionee you will find apps like WHATSAPP, BBM, WECHAT, CARD, HANGOUT and few more apps being forced on a user by making them system apps(BLOATWARES).
And for Samsung, Tecno and others it the same disheartening story.

Now, one will be tempted to think its a compulsory routine for android device (low or high end, mtk or snapdragon) to posses these apps (vendor/bloatwares) to function well or assist the user.

The necessary fact is: its a bitter lie, even I used to think lies are sweet, truth is bitter.
Check phones like thl, elephone, lg, sony and numerous others, you won't find such apps in them which gives a user the choice to choose what to or not have snuffing the space out of his/her device.
I am aware that 5 out of 10 mobile phone manufacturers lurk behind the shadows on nairaland seeking out user opinions and feedbacks, please the difficulty faced with when choosing an android device is not to download some chat or what have you apps, but data and more efficiency in terms of properly utilizing and enjoying our phones.

So please stop stocking our phones with useless apps its ads and bloatwares to an average android user,
To an android guru, its a ridiculous and silly move only practised by jobless mobile rom builders,
its not helping us in anyway, provide your own store or market if you want to advertise an app or think your customers need it, don't force any useless app on us, its our phone not yours, stop installing apps for us.

delete your normal whatsapp, download a new one from play store.
do all the whatsapp blah blah blah blah.
then chat with it for few minutes, make sure you get 1 or 2 replies.
go to your settings, clear cache of your whatsapp and uninstall it.
then install your whatsapp plus, you won't see the verification page again.
if you are still having issues, drop your whatsapp or telegram number.

Gionee m3 wont support widgets on other launchers either, and one annoying thing, they will also make whatsapp, wechat and other useless apps, as vendor apps… I wonder why gionee, tecno and others continue to do such stupid uselessness, making apps vendor apps, causing users different inconveniences.

I love Samsung's sexy camera quality but as far as only the likes of Gionee give me battery power in excess of 4000 mAh then I'm staying put with Gionee.

one of the strange facts are.
the most eagerly waiters on this m3 are m2 users.
The reason I want this phone, is not because of the battery only, but because of the overall performance of m2.
Even with less shiny specs, m2 is one of the best devices I have handled in terms of performance, and design, leaving out the awesomely obvious battery efficiency.
So, m3 if within a reasonable buying distance, quote me, The first buyer is likely to come from the gionee m2 family.

The Whatsapp plus theme and its wallpaper, are zipped in a folder by me. So all you have to do is, unzip it and apply the theme... And the wallpaper gets applied too.

I discovered it online while searching for another launcher like Adw launcher ex which allows folder in the app drawer.

Boom, I landed on solo launcher version 1.7.2.

I will admit that I was scared, I tested it on my tecno m3, and it
Came with some widgets, fully aware of the predicaments that awaits trying to use widgets on Gionee m2 home screen on a downloaded launcher, I picked the worst scenario and feared the next epistle to the expected "UNFORTUNATELY, SETTINGS HAS GONE GAGA".

But being fashioned with a gift to find solutions 'BIG THANKS TO THE AWESOME I AM THAT I AM',
I swayed in and did a backup of the solo launcher settings on my tecno m3, then sent it to my Gionee m2. ______________________________


This is were it got interesting.

After installing solo launcher on my gionee m2, I found out I had to start it first before I can even restore my sent back up file from my m3.....

Sad and relinquished by this event.

I reluctantly clicked "continue" to my very own amazement WIDGETS APPEARED ON MY GIONEE M2 HOME SCREEN and the sore sights of "UNFORTUNATELY SETTINGS HAS STOPPED" was no where to be seen.

I must confess I was happy to see a widgets on my unrooted gionee m2 home screen and the fact that its on a downloaded launcher made me almost brought solo launcher from my phone to kiss it.

Guessing how I felt? You can't, its just an awesomazing inexplicable feeling.

But then came a depressing thought "What if only the solo widgets was possible to work on solo launcher?"

Well I swiftly I skipped through my apps and "yes widgets"

I Tried transparent weather widgets, gionee m2 analog clock widgets 2×2[which I really love, thanks to my unquenchable thirst for great analog clocks], Ez weather Widgets, Analog clock and wallpaper Widgets and playerpro music player....

they all worked without a single hustle, as if the amigo ui was on *welcome* break, so it's not conflicting the Widgets application.

So I decided to try applying widgets on my apex, nova, ADW and Aviate launcher... Lo and behold, "UNFORTUNATELY SETTINGS HAS STOPPED" came back from holiday in a very short notice 'as if somebody call am say mtn dey browse free'

Ran back to solo launcher and my widgets were working flawlessly, there was no other explanations to this act than its divine.

Jesus heard me when I said I won't root my gionee m2, He just gave me more reasons not to root it.

With tears of joy I decided to give Him a big hug of praises. Yes I did.

Never rated an app five star on play store before, because they were either good but pricey or free and not appealing to what I wanted...

But SOLO LAUNCHER? Nah... Was just perfected to perfection when it comes to a launcher.

So off I went, play store I came.
And eh... It got an update... 1.9.3, "why not?" I updated it... And yes, the updated was......Yes almost perfect till my widgets stopped working.

I could revert back to 1.7.2 though, but 1.9.3 came with so much amazing features, like you can add up to 5 apps on your status bar. Yes, if you have used or heard of "BAR NOTIFICATION LAUNCHER" you would understand want I meant.

Its better than bar notification launcher though, in ways like: Any icon pack applied to Solo launcher also changed the apps on the notification tray looks, "Damn it was beautiful" that torn me and grieved my belle to bits,
I tell you,
Reverted back to 1.7.2.

But I was no longer happy, wanted the notification bar feature, how do I get it and keep my sweet widgets?

So I rated the app and emailed the developer, then I understood the mind behind such an amazing launcher which was priceless and yet free-ad-less "anyone notice that even gmail don begin do adverts on inbox?"

The only downside to m2 for me was the widgets issue, which I knew before buying it and still love the phone with that Achilles hill.

Solo launcher fixed that.

To cut it short, he(the developer) guided me through a way on how to maybe try to use a widgets on my gionee m2 again on the version 1.9.3.

Despite his English not being really understandable, I was able to read his mind through his words and got his intended directives.

So yes, instead of applying widgets through the shortcut like I did on the version 1.7.2.
I went to app drawer, located widgets, clicked system widgets and 'Ze' I was able to use widgets again on my unrooted m2.

Apart from being just 5mb, with amazing features like able to use icon packs of other launchers and its own icon packs which you can request for√ from the developer and he will make any design of the icon pack you request.....

It had little or no effect on my ram, had inbuilt unread counts for messages, missed calls, gmail, Samsung and HTC mails;

These features which you can only have on other launchers for a price and still have to download another app like Tesla, missed it and smart notifier. ______________________________


I have talked to the developer on what features I want added in his future update, will
email him to add more unread counts for bbm, whatsapp and telegram if possible.

Am not an app developer, but I have an unending desire to keep searching for the best apps and trying them out, then after making sure its not intrusive and buggy, I spread the news....

We all hate misbehaving, ram and battery hogging apps don't we?

90% sure you didn't delete the Whatsapp in the vendor folder... 10% worried there might be fragments of Whatsapp left still in the phone's memory even after you eradicated the Whatsapp in the vendor folder.

I don't own the phone yet, but there are users who uses this phone and have rooted it and ported cmw to it.. drop your telegram or Whatsapp number.. and I will add you to a group which can be of help to you.

That's an option, will advice you to get a new sdcard though... To avoid such happening again should incase it was an mmc error.....

Bad SD card,

You need to locate gionee after sales services.

If you are on Whatsapp, and you are willing to root your phone I can help... drop your Whatsapp number if you need assistance on removing the app that is conflicting the installation of the Whatsapp plus.

Try this.
first reboot your phone... once it has fully booted... wait for all apps to start...
Then switch off, remove your battery and sims... then put only your battery back, leaving your sims out... switch it on and then try if it works...

No, you can use Whatsapp app on m2 without root.
but you can't use Whatsapp plus on m2 without root.

you definitely don't need to root any phone to download an app. but in the case of M2, you must root it to successfully install Whatsapp plus on it.
There is a huge difference between downloading and installation.
