Yes no phone is perfect, guess what... That is why those whom are asking for reviews are doing it, they want to have an idea on what to expect and look elsewhere if what they desire isn't in the current phone they admire. Many would want to purchase this phone for its android version, others the notification light added features. But if no one said anything, how would they know about these? It is good we are seeing the true nature of some of you.... Money grabbers.

#Fact2 - True Talk! Price and Sustainability before Preference in our economy today. I'm however still saying this phone cannot be sold at the same price the hot 2 was sold because of the extras added to the camera, it may eventually reduce from the 26-30k range, but I think it's really worth it though. I do get your points really. The price of the hot 2 is probably so because two companies were with a mission. I think there are many factors to consider in this whole thing sha. But I really do get your point.

Secondly would you take out your hard earned twenty six thousand Nigerian currency to buy this tecno phone when you have a choice of gionee m3, infinix hot note pro, infinix hot 2 or innjoo note pro to choose from?
That said, would you advise anyone close to you to go for tecno c8 over the above mentioned phones?
Tecno aren't holding any card back, the phone is made of plastic not any tougher material. Its screen is of ips material with no added protection so there is nothing durable about this. Even if tecno had said this product comes with gorillas glass 7, I still will know they are lying, just the same way they lied about tecno r7 getting a kitkat update and the said phone having corning gorilla glass.
Strange fact is, its people who never bough tecno phones that stand on the forefront of this train saying its leading to anywhere but down.
Am still here just gather facts.

Oya.... Price don show make una come and buy. As for me and the people I represent we have 27.5k to spend on this not. I will find a digital camera of 20mp with great image optimization if na photo I want. Yes, its good to have a phone with great camera qualities but not at the expense of such unbelievable price and unusable hardware.
Na only op go buy this phone for nairaland.

brotherly, haven't you seen the specs? it's a mtk 6735 64bit quad core, 1.3GHz mali T720 chip na. The cheap was released this year sef. It's nothing close to outdated though.

Hoping this claim is real, but I guess we will soon or never find out.

Hehehehe... Except the phone is a mtk chip 64bit quad core, 1.5ghz mali t720.... quad core chip of 1.3ghz even 32bit can't be used on a flagship device in 2015, but again this is tecno... Outdatedness is their watch word.

With the infinix hot 2 launched. 8mp/2mp, 2200mah battery, 720 screen panel, 5inch, 2gig ram/16gig rom, quad core 1.3gz, android 5.1.1 upgradable to android 6.0.... 19.5k.... The camon c8 is yet to get official specs not to talk of launching.... Tecno may have shot themselves in the foot. I believe na only me and the op of this thread go buy camon c8 when e launch... And I go buy am only if the price na 18k.

Best mobile phone review I have read from a Nigerian blogger. Am baffled though.
Because the claimed unboxing of the tecno camon c8 on YouTube posted just few comments above, showed the camon c8 with 1gig ram and 16gig rom..... So if you don't mind me asking sir, did you actually have the camon c8 at the time of your review or you mainly gathered the facts together to arrive at a really impressive conclusion, I might add.

As at when posting this, 155 US dollars = 30852.7500 naira.



Xiaomi just did the undo-able, not because of the specs of the phone being launched, or the fact that its being launched by one of the top selling brand in the world just coming second to the Samsung phone making firm.
But for the obvious fact that the redmi note went for mediatek chipset instead of the "Snapdragon" all hailing chipset, the outstanding choice of mediatek chip chosen, the unbelievable specs and hardware used and lastly, the unimaginably affordable price of the device.

Though I will not be in haste to call this a flagship killer or anything of sort, but this is way above the midrange device department and only fewer phones can boast of a better performance than this incoming xiaomi device with antutu benchmark score according to Xiaomi redmi chief Chun Lei crossing the 50k limit of most mtk devices. This is what I call a milestone achievement, and it was worth mentioning,

Because soon, Android users would not have to dig a hole in the pocket to afford great performing devices.

mate this camera ish ain't any milestone development (if u understand the meaning of the word milestone), this is just an incentive to sale the product ,just like the boom j with all it's crappy specs sold cos of the music player. It's nothing special ,not worth hyperventilating for. I'm not against ur choice of preference neither am I against anybody that gets the phone but this phone ain't worth d hype that it's currently getting considering that it is in the midrange category. A milestone achievement for tecno will be when they start supporting their phones with updates or when they start producing phones with superior specs not when they increase the sharpness of their phones' camera. By the time the next OS will roll out ,this phone will be rendered obsolete n tecno will produce another phone with the latest OS instead of supporting their previous ones.

Though you are on the right side sir, but my advice will be not to stress yourself so much.

Some persons can only learn from experience. A good brand retains old customers, and attracts new customers. That said, I only recommend tecno phones to newbie android users.

Because for old android users you sure will get disappointed when you buy a tecno phone of 16gig rom only to find out the allocated app storage memory is just a mere 1gig rom, or to find out that a 13mp camera of Aperture f/2.2 cannot compete with an 8mp of same aperture or focal, you notice a simple bug on the launcher of your device seeing the phone does have support for ota, you are expecting the bug to be fixed via ota, but in reality the ota is to moc*k it's intended buyers because you will either live with any bug and Android version bought in your tecno device or sell it, because you are not getting a useful update for your soon-to-become crapp*y device.

Like any aspect of life, there are stages. I will sure buy a tecno phone but I know what to expect, hype or no hype... I know its just a new-soon to be outdated camshaft. So I know how much outdated piece of junks are worth. Once this phone is out and the price, the review about it is appealing enough, I will suggest it to a newbie. Tecno is a good starting point for new Android users who can pour hard earn cash on certain out of sort piece, that is as far at it goes.

Briefly, there was a software glitch. Of course it can be corrected via continuous updates.

Second, how on earth would you place the charging point in one extreme and the earpiece slot at the other? Imagine how uncomfortable it will be using both simultaneously.

Again, you have to always remove the earpiece first before you can remove the back casing. The hole of the earpiece passes through the tip of the back casing. Yeah, I'm lazy! That's stressful for me!!

Also, the power button is placed directly on the back casing like old series phone! Which sane manufacturer does that at this age? It'll definitely get to a point when it'd get weaken/faulty; to power on the phone would be an issue.

Now to the killer-the battery. While on 3G, the battery level loses 1% every 5-8 minutes. Estimate how long the battery would last.

Note also - only the SIM1 supports 3G, meaning you have to always switch SIM if you desire to use SIM2 for browsing. Hellavastress! This is Nigerian market please!!

What else? Hotness when browsing while charging. To me, INJOO NOTE PRO is as failed product. Jumia gladly refunded me.

No matter how cheap or brilliant a phone is, one thing I cannot live with, is a dual sim phone inability to switch 3g. This is 2015, not 2012.

Glad you got it to work, I didn't know that the boom J7 has the same trait of tecno's annoying rom partition which existed in their previous phones. Anyway, install cm security. It helps to clean cache of apps to free up more installation space. Be careful, the app has tolerance... It misbehaves if you have another antivirus installed. And is not compatible with some phones. But it has worked great on most phones I have used it on without issues, except gionee m2 jelly bean version.

This is Nigeria, let me first state that its the job of the Nigeria custom or whoever or whatever organisation is in charge of inspection of goods being imported not the job of the end user to qualify the product and the materials used to make it if its safe for use or not.

That said.
Am currently using Infinix hot note pro, and this is my first infinix product..

So far, I have bought tecno m3, p5, R7, l6 and p9 pad.
And I will without sentiments state that none of the above mentioned phone could compare to the infinix hot note pro.

Is infinix hot note pro durable? That I cannot say because its just less than 2 months old since I started using it.

Do infinix sell better products of phones to other countries while they sell craps to Nigeria?
I can't say no or yes, but what I know is, the version of phones sold to countries varies.
Xiaomi always has two variants of devices they make, the international version and the China version for the local market.
Samsung has 3 major versions for each flagship they make, the Asia version, America and Europe version.
Sure they all defer in specs, network band and software modifications... Does that make the version sold to America inferior to the one of Europe?
Even Gionee sold gionee m2 with 8gig rom to Nigeria but sold the 4gig rom in India... Hopefully this sorts your claim, but if you believe still that infinix are selling substandard products to Nigerians, do make your point with more clarification known in nairaland, I for one will not buy a single item from them, like I stopped buying tecno products.
