Islam for Muslims / Re: Divorce And Remarriage, Weird Laws by Zhulfiqar1: 9:09am On Nov 27, 2012
It is Sunnis who divorce their wives just by shouting "talaq" (divorce) three times.this is a jurisprudential case.in Shia jurisprudence a document must be issued through a court or legal representative of the shariah or a local religious authority before marriage can be dissolved.

As for the Quran,"divorce is twice".you can marry and divorce, and remarry and again divorce your wife.after that there is an irrevocable divorce.she becomes permanently forbidden to you until she has entered a marriage contract with another man and the marriage is dissolved, before she can go to her previous husband and get married afresh.

The reason for this is to discourage divorce.if not done like this, issuing divorce certificates would become meaningless.and consider how much more meaningless with the Sunni mode of divorce, where all that needs to be done is shouting "divorce" thrice and its over! In fact islamically divorce is not something good.in Shia Islam or in our Ja'fari school of thought, the authority would try to first mend fences before granting the divorce.divorce is seen as something God has permitted but is disliked by Him and therefore discouraged.

Bahrain police break up march after Ashura memorial service

2:45 p.m. CST, November 26, 2012

DUBAI (Reuters) - Bahraini security forces used tear gas and stun grenades to scatter hundreds of youths who tried to march towards the centre of the capital on Monday after annual Ashura services marking one of the holiest days in the Shi'ite Muslim calendar.

Bahrain, an important U.S. ally and base for U.S. warships, last year used martial law and help from Gulf neighbors to crush an uprising mainly by its Shi'ite majority against alleged discrimination. But unrest has since resumed with frequent clashes between demonstrators and police.

Witnesses said some 400 people marched from Diya village near Manama towards the site of Pearl Roundabout in the capital after the Ashura services held to mark the anniversary of the killing of Prophet Mohammad's grandson, Imam Hussein.

The roundabout was the main rallying point of the 2011 uprising by Shi'ites to push for political reforms and equality with Sunni Muslims, and security forces have kept it off-limits to protesters since the revolt was put down.

Consequently, clashes erupted on Monday when demonstrators numbering in the thousands, according to opposition activities and a news website, neared the roundabout and were confronted by security forces.

Witnesses said at least one protester was arrested and security forces used tear gas, stun grenades and birdshot to rout the crowd. Dozens were overcome by tear gas.

The Interior Ministry said it confronted a group of "troublemakers" who used firebombs and used stones and wooden barricades to block a main street there.

Sunni-ruled Bahrain said last month it was temporarily banning protests while new procedures are put in place to ensure peaceful demonstrations.

The move, along with the revocation of the citizenship of 31 Bahrainis accused of fomenting violence, had been criticized by Western countries and international rights groups.

Muslims across the Middle East commemorate the killing of Imam Hussein in the battle of Kerbala in Iraq in 680 A.D., with ritual mourning ceremonies and recitation of religious songs.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Bloody Ceremony: Muslims All Over The World Mourn The Slayin Of Mohammds Granson by Zhulfiqar1: 10:16pm On Nov 26, 2012
Kagawa: Blood is seen on the floor of a mosque as Indian Shiite Muslims flagellate themselves during a holy procession.
I doubt that is a mosque.

The majority of the Ayatollahs of Shia Muslims including Ayatollah Ali Khamanei, forbid flaggellating oneself because harming the body is forbidden Islamically.

But these people don't listen because they are lay people.when we feel moved by the narration of Imam Hussein (as), we cry; and when crying isn't enough the lay people do these things which are more of tradition than religion.

At least the Shia Muslims mourn out of love and compassion for Imam Hussein (as).they don't go about bombing the places of worship of others as Sunnis do.

Muslims all over the world pay their respects with the flowing of their blood as they mourn the slaying and martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad.
This isn't true.the overwhelming majority of Shia Muslims don't do that.misguided Sunnis don't mourn at all.instead, extremist Sunnis go about bombing Ashura gatherings and processions of the Shia as it happens every year on Ashura.

He was killed by his political rivals along with 72 companions in the seventh century battle of Kerbala where some of the bodies of the dead were then mutilated.
He wasn't killed by "political rival".Yazeed was no political rival.Yazeed was a tyrant and an evil unbeliever who denied the prophethood of Muhammad (saw).therefore Yazeed, alongside his immoral acts, was unfit to call himself leader of Muslims.he inherited power from his father,Muawiya.and Imam Hussein (as) refused to acknowledge the rule of evil.so that was what made Yazeed demand the life of Imam Hussein (as) if the latter refuse to pay allegiance.it wasn't simply a political matter.

The Muslims were taking part in processions in Mumbai and Chennai. Ashura is celebrated on the tenth day of the Islamic month of Muharram.

The processions also involve walking on burning coals and carrying a 'Tazia' - replica of the coffin of Hussein.
Tradition;not religion

Some participants gather for ceremonial chest beating as a display of their devotion in remembrance of his suffering and to preach that oppression will not last.
Chest beating is not "ceremonial" but SYMBOLIC.its done lightly without causing hurt as a symbol of mourning known in Islamic tradition.

In some Shi'a regions of Muslim countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Lebanon, and Bahrain, the commemoration has become a national holiday.

Most ethnic and religious communities participate even in a predominantly Hindu majority.

They wanted me not to go to you, so they cut off my feet!

Every drop of blood in the veins call out your name O Hussain (Ya Hussain) !!!

Subhanallah!
Takbeer!

This is a wonderful step in the right direction from Vedaxcool.I'm not only suprised but I'm also shocked.those who carry out these attacks don't do them by mistake but deliberately part of their distinct (un-Islamic) doctrine they hold, even though they claim to be Muslims.

I'm happy for you Vedaxcool.it shows there is still humanity in you.I pray Allah will guide you to the path He has chosen for us as Muslims.

Millions flood Iraq shrine city for Ashura rituals

By Abdelamir Hanoun (AFP) – 3 hours ago

KARBALA, Iraq — Millions of Shiites flooded the Iraqi shrine city of Karbala on Sunday for the peak of Ashura rituals, which have been largely spared the attacks that struck pilgrims in past years.

A bomb wounded 10 pilgrims in Diyala province, north of Baghdad, but it was the first such attack since a car bomb against pilgrims killed three people on November 17.

Throngs of pilgrims beat their chests and some used swords to make cuts on their heads as a sign of mourning for Imam Hussein, grandson of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed, who was killed in 680 AD by the armies of the caliph Yazid.

Tradition holds that the revered imam was decapitated and his body mutilated. Hussein is buried in the holy city, 100 kilometres (60 miles) south of Baghdad, and his death was a formative event in Shiite Islam.

Black-clad pilgrims, some of them in tears, listened over loudspeakers to the story of the battle in which Hussein was killed, and later carried out a ritual run to the shrine, striking their heads in mourning and shouting: "We sacrifice for you, O Hussein."

The commemorations, which also included a reenactment of the attack that killed Hussein, officially wrapped up by 3:00 pm (1200 GMT), according to an AFP journalist.

Mohammed Khaled, a 37-year-old pilgrim dressed in a black robe who came to Karbala from Baghdad, said Ashura is a chance for people to "express their love of and adherence to the principles of Imam Hussein."

"It also reminds us of the importance of adhering to (what is) right and rejecting falsehood," he said.

Karbala provincial Governor Amal al-Din al-Har told AFP that about three million pilgrims, including 200,000 foreigners, travelled to Karbala for the rituals.

The number of foreign pilgrims was down considerably from the 650,000 who were said to have attended last year.

Staff Lieutenant General Othman al-Ghanimi, head of Al-Furat al-Awsat operations command that covers Karbala, said 30,000 security forces personnel were deployed at the northern, southern and eastern entrances of the city to protect the pilgrims.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Mohammed al-Hasnawi, the command's spokesman, said its forces were also preparing to protect pilgrims on their way back to their homes.

There have not been any attacks on pilgrims in Karbala province so far, Hasnawi said.

Pilgrims are most vulnerable when they are going to and from Karbala, when they are not protected by the heavy security in the city itself.

Governor Har said 2,400 vehicles from various ministries and from Karbala province would help transport pilgrims home.

Ahmed Fadhel, a 30-year-old pilgrim from Najaf province, said both security and services in Karbala were good, but added: "We are ready to participate in this commemoration in spite of any circumstances."

This is the third year since the 2003 US-led invasion that Iraqi security forces have been in sole charge of security during Ashura.

In the past, pilgrims were often targeted by bombings that killed dozens, including a wave of attacks against pilgrims the day before the peak of Ashura rituals last year that killed 28 people and wounded 78.

And while there were two attacks against pilgrims this year, the violence was much lower than before.

A roadside bomb wounded 10 pilgrims east of Baquba in Diyala province on Sunday, police and a doctor said, while a car bomb targeted pilgrims north of Baghdad on November 17, killing three people and wounding 25.

Attacks also hit Ashura commemorations elsewhere in the Muslim world.

In Pakistan, a bomb attack on a Shiite procession killed five people and wounded more than 80 on Sunday, while a similar attack the day before left eight people dead, and a suicide bombing earlier in the week killed 23 people.

And in Yemen, gunmen shot dead three Shiites and wounded 10 on Saturday.

Shiites make up around 15 percent of Muslims worldwide. They represent the majority populations in Iraq, Iran and Bahrain and form significant communities in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Deaths in blast as Pakistan Shia mark Ashura

Attack claimed by Pakistani Taliban kills five in city of Dera Ismail Khan near Shia procession mourning Imam Hussein.

Last Modified: 25 Nov 2012 16:28

bomb attack on a Shia Muslim procession has killed five people and wounded scores more in northwest Pakistan as the group marked Ashura, a day of religious significance for Shia and Sunni Muslims.

The bomb exploded on Sunday in the city of Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where another blast on Saturday killed eight people near a Shia Muslim procession.

"Five people were killed and 83 injured in the bomb blast," Shafeerulla Khan, a senior government official in regional capital Peshawar told AFP news agency.

Khan said preliminary investigations indicated the device was planted inside a shop but police were probing whether a suicide bomber was involved.

A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban said the armed group claimed responsibility for the bombing and threatened more attacks.

"It was a suicide attack and we claim responsibility for it," Ehsanullah Ehsan told AFP by telephone from an undisclosed location.

He repeated his threat made on Saturday that the Taliban had dispatched more suicide bombers across the country for attacks against the minority community.

The group claimed Saturday's bombing, and a suicide attack that killed 23 people on Thursday at a Shia procession in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Anwar Khan Akbar, a police official confirmed the death toll and said the target of the attack was the Ashura procession.

Khalid Aziz, a doctor in the city's main hospital, told Pakistan's private ARY TV channel some of the injured were in critical condition.

Foiled attack

In a separate development, police in Pakistan's largest city Karachi said they foiled a major terrorist attack.

They said they killed a Taliban member in a gun battle and recovered a 100kg bomb planted in a car.

Police arrested another suspected Taliban member and also found two suicide vests, two AK-47 assault rifles and two pistols in the car.

"Police intercepted the car and killed a militant in an exchange of gunfire," Aslam Khan, a senior police official, told AFP, saying that the suspects planned to use the car to target an Ashura procession.

In December 2009, a suicide bomber killed 43 people in Karachi at a Shia procession to mark Ashura.

Pakistan has deployed tens of thousands of police and paramilitary forces to try to avert sectarian clashes or attacks on Ashura marches.

While both Shia and Sunni Muslims mark the day of Ashura, it is a celebratory day for Sunni Muslims but a day of commemoration for Shia Muslims who mourn the killing of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed's grandson Imam Hussein.

Authorities have ordered heightened security, with services for mobile phones, which are often used to trigger bombs, suspended in major cities.

More than 300 Shia Pakistani's have been killed this year alone in sectarian related conflict, according to local Pakistani media.

Lebanon foils Ashura terror plot, 5 Syrians detained

Lebanese troops have detained five Syrian nationals in the southern town of Nabatieh as they were preparing explosives to be used against Shia mourners commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), on the Day of Ashura.

The five Syrians were captured in the al-Maslakh neighborhood of the town, situated 57 kilometers (35 miles) south of Beirut, on Friday, the English-language newspaper the Daily Star reported on Saturday.

Lebanese Shias mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) by holding ceremonies in Beirut’s southern suburbs, the Bekaa Valley, and several towns in the south.

Nabatieh usually holds the largest ceremony in the country.

The ceremonies commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his 72 companions will reach their climax on the Day of Ashura -- the tenth day of the Islamic lunar month of Muharram.

Ashura, which occurs on Sunday, November 25 this year, is the anniversary of the day in 680 CE when thousands of forces loyal to the despotic Umayyad caliph Yazid ibn Muawiyah martyred Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his 72 companions in Karbala, Iraq.

Hundreds of thousands of people flood Karbala for the Ashura religious rituals every year.

On the 10th day of Muharram,in the middle of the battle against the forces and supporters of Yazeed Ibn Muawiya, tears were seen flowing from the eyes of Imam al-Hussein (as).

His sister (as) approached him and asked: "Brother what are these tears for? Why are you crying?"

Imam al-Hussein (as) replied: "I cry for these people who shall enter the hell fire because of me"!!!

Have you ever seen a human being shedding tears for his enemies who wronged, oppressed and ultimately beheaded him? That human being is Imam al-Hussein Ibn Ali (as),grandson of the Mercy to the Humanity,Prophet Muhammad (sawaws)!!!

Peace be on you, O Abu Abdullah!

Peace be on you, O son of the Apostle of Allah!

Peace be on you, O son of the commander of the faithfuls, the forebear of the successors!

Peace be on you, O son of Fatimah, the choicest among the women of the worlds!

Peace be on you, O the select, surpassing, chosen in preference over all good of Allah, and son of Allah's (such) good.

Peace be on you, who was martyred while fighting heroically in the cause of Allah, the son of Allah's fearless warrior, you were isolated and had been attacked with a vengeance!

Peace be on you and on those souls who had gathered in your camp, and strided along with you, in your journey. I pray and invoke Allah to keep all of you tranquil and restful, for ever; so far I am alive, this is my prayer, and till nights and days follow each other.

O Abu Abdullah! unbearable is the sorrow, nerve-racking is the agony, you put up with, for us and for all the (true) Muslims, crimes committed against you also shocked and unnerved the dwellers of the heavens, one and all.

May Allah condemn and damn the people who laid the basis and set up the groundwork, to wander astray and turn aside from not only you and your family but to take liberties and bear hard upon you.

May Allah condemn and damn the people who tried to obscure and deny your office and status, willfully neglected your rank and class Allah had made know in clear terms. May Allah condemn and damn the people who killed you.

May Allah condemn and damn the abettors who instigated and had a part in your murder. I turn to you and Allah, away from them, their henchmen, their followers and their friends,

O Abu Abdullah, I pray and invoke Allah to send blessings on you. I make peace with those who make their peace with you, I make war on those who go to war against you, till the Day of Judgment.

May Allah condemn and damn the family of Ziyaad and the family of Marwaan;

May Allah condemn and damn the group and the tribe of Umayyah, one and all, altogether;

May Allah condemn and damn the son of Marjaanah;

May Allah condemn and damn Umar son of Saad;

May Allah condemn and damn Shimr;

May Allah condemn and damn the people who bridled the horses and saddles for your martyrdom. I, my father and mother are at your disposal. Profound is my sorrow for you. I beg Allah, who honoured you above others, to be generous towards me on account of you, and give me the opportunity to be with the victorious Imam, the descendent of Mohammad (blessings and peace be on him and on his children from Allah) at the time of the final and decisive war against Allah's enemies.

O my Allah make me attend to Your cause, sincerely, in every respect following in Husayn's footsteps, in this world and the hereafter. O Abu Abdullah, I pray and invoke Allah to send blessings on you. I come nearer and seek greater intimacy with Allah, with His Apostle, with Ameerul Moomineen, with Fatimah, with Hasan and with you, with the help of your love and patronage, cutting off every connection with those who took up arms against you and killed you.

I disconnect all links with those who, in the beginning, took the first steps to take liberties with and bear hard upon you, I take refuge with Allah and His Apostle (blessings of Allah be on him and on his children), free from the guilt of associating with those who laid the foundation for (your suffering), devised and carried out their corrupt plan of action, boldly gave currency to reign of terror and cruelty to oppress you and your friends and followers;

I detach myself from them and present myself to Allah and to you, I (first) seek greater intimacy with Allah and then with you to win your love and patronage, and to make friends with your friends, cut off all links with your enemies, and with those who planted the seeds of hostility against you, and reject and discard their associates, their followers and their friends.

I make peace with those who made their peace with you, I search out and confront those who waged war against you, I make friends with those who stood by you, I strive against those who came in conflict with you, therefore, I make a request to Allah to acquaint (me) with the awareness that perceives you and your friends, to set me free from the corrupting influence of your enemies, to make me keep company with you in this world and in the Hereafter, stand firm beside you and follow your footsteps closely in this world and in the next world.

I beseech Him that he helps me to reach your highly praised station, given to you by Allah, (to meet you), that He provides me the opportunity to fight for justice and fairplay along with and under the leadership of the rightly guided guide (in your progeny) who surely will come and speak the truth. I beseech Allah in the name of your right and the purpose He assigned to you, that He overwhelms me with grief in memory of your sorrows, more than the personal grief that torments any one who is in great agony, sorrows which have no parallel and overshadow all calamities that took place in the history of Islam, for that matter, through out the whole universe.

O my Allah, in my on the spot situation, treat me like him (or her) who obtains from You (Your) blessings, mercy and forgiveness.

O my Allah, bring me to life again, after death, in the place Mohammad and his "Aal" (children) are dwelling, and make me depart from this world like Mohammad and his "Aal" (children) had left,

O my Allah this day is a day of rejoicing for the "Bani Umayyah", the herd of hardened criminals, the eternally damned and accursed group, a fact that had been made public by You and by Your Prophet (blessings of Allah be on him and on his children), who, in every place and at all occasions, drew attention of people to this truism.

O my Allah condemn and damn Abu Sufyaan, Yazid son of Muwa'awiyah and let it be an everlasting curse upon tem from You. Today the descendants of Ziyaad and Marwan make merry, laugh and dance because on this day they killed Husayn (blessings of Allah be on him).

O my Allah, therefore, double up the curse You bring upon them and also the punishment You decree for them.

O my Allah, I seek nearness to You today in this frame of mind, cutting off all links with them for the rest of my life, denouncing them because of my love for Your Prophet and his children, peace be on him and them.

O my Allah condemn and damn the first tyrant who unjustly and wrongfully usurped that which rightly belonged to Mohammad and the children of Mohammad, and bring curse upon those who, after him, followed in his footsteps.

O my Allah condemn and damn those conspirators who vexed and harassed Husayn, showed eagerness, agreed mutually, and joined hands to kill him. O my Allah bring curse upon all of them.

Peace be on you, O Abu Abdullah, and on those souls who came to your camp to put themselves at your disposal.

So far I am alive and the days and nights follow each other I invoke Allah to send blessings on you for ever and ever.

May Allah not make my this pledge of close association, physical as well as spiritual, with you the last fulfillment.

Peace be on Husayn, and on Ali son of Husayn, and on the children of Husayn, and on the friends of Husayn.

O my Allah, let the curse I call down on the head of the first tyrant stick like a leech; and stay put for ever on the first, then the second, the third and the fourth.

O my Allah damn and call down evil on the fifth, Yazid son of Mua'awyah, and bring a curse upon Ubaydullah son of Ziyaad, ibna Marjanah, Umar son of Saad, and Shimr, and on the descendants of Abu Sufyaan, on the descendants of Ziyaad, on the descendants of Marwaan, till the Day of judgement.

O my Allah! (All) praise is for You (alone); praise of the "Ever-thankful to You", who glorify You whatever come to pass. (All) praise is for Allah for my deep-felt intense grief. O my Allah make available for me the recommendations of Husayn on the day I present myself before You, let me stand firm in safety before You on account of my sincere attachment with Husayn, along with him and his comrades, who sacrificed everything they had (heart, mind, soul and life) for Husayn, peace be on him.

Aren't you a Kafir for accusing the Prophet pbuh of following Kafir, when he simply ordered muslims to fast on the same day Moses requested the Jews to fast as a mark of thankfulness God! Keep dancing kafir tunes, your words are evidence enough that you don't know your left from your right! Muslim cannot not be forbidden to fast on a day simply because you feel it is the day you want to slap your chest and wound your faces! And just about done with your willful ignorance indeed! You lie so much you lose track of who is saying what and accusing who with what! One thing I hate with Sunnis so much is the issue of lying.you're bloody liars.you say Islam is the complete and perfect religion, but you forget you missed your track.so when you can't give perfect and complete answers or you can't use your head, you don't give up so you resort to lies.tufiakwa! Is this your islam? This isn't the Islam of Muhammed (s) you follow.

Lol grin grin, I don't have time to explain simple things to you, let me ask your question to you, is david a.s superior to Muhammad pbuh that Iman Hidden will follow the rule of david a.s rather the final shariah meant for all mankind? grin and Muhammad pbuh simply command we practice the fast Moses a.s did during the victory over Pharoh, we fast for Allah not Husayn r.a or anyone! All praise and worship is indeed due to Allah! Now call fasting for All diverting attention from Husayn r.a auzobillah is there any contest between worshipping Allah? That they now call fasting for Allah diverting attention or they now make forbidden a day they have no right to forbid others from fasting for Allah! Verily it is falsehood they practice! There is reward fasting for Allah!

To the kafir jew,David (as) is not only superior to Muhammad (s) but not even comparable because to them Muhammad (s) is not from God.the Islamic shariah is for muslims to abide by.you cannot impose islamic law on kafir.that is why you read in the Quran "every nation will come with its imam".and the Quran also ask the people of the book to judge by what is therein revealed (in the previous revelations).

Now are you a kaffir for you to leave the shariat of Muhammed (s) and follow a previous shariat?

The fact is what you're practicing is bid'ah.the Prophet (s) did not fast with the jews or copy them.

Stop defending blindness.you're choosing the path of kufr but don't attribute it to the Prophet (s).
