EducationEasy Way To Get Your Credentials For Screening/admission (must Read) by zico124(op): 11:48pm On Jul 26, 2016
As we all know that admission screening is on and many federal schools are demanding for some crucial documents in the screening some of which include: O'level result, original jamb slip, first school leaving certificate, birth certificate, certificate of state of origin or local government of origin and so on. It is necessary for us at sureinformationng to update our clients and wonderful readers on how to get some of these documents without much stress. So without wasting time we will give a list of how to get your certificates ready for screening

HOW TO GET BIRTH CERTIFICATE
Birth certificate: A birth certificate is a vital record that
documents the birth of a child. This credential is very important for screening, admission, employment, travelling and other purposes. The document is given to parents who allow the delivery of their child at registered hospitals. Students can get this document by asking their parents. However, there maybe cases of lost or unavailability due to the environment(substandard) where the child is given birth(this is common for students in developing nations), in this case the student can proceed to any law office and request for "certificate of declaration of age". This document is issued on a token processing fee of less than N1,000

HOW TO GET FIRST SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE (PRIMARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE)
The first school leaving certificate is a document issued to a student who has successfully completed his primary or elementary school. To get this certificate, a student is to proceed to his/her primary or elementary school and request for it. It usually cost some amount depending on the kind or school (private or public)

O'LEVEL CERTIFICATE
This is a certificate issued to a student who write and successfully completes any o'level examination be it internal(within school) or external(after school). This certificate may be WASSCE,SSCE,NECO,NECOGCE,NABTEB and so on. Most certificate as listed above are usually ready within the space of a year.
This certificate can be collected in the school (for internal) or in at WAEC office in your zone. Most times the certificate usually takes about a year and students whose waec certificate is not ready will be given statement of result which can be used pending when the certificate will be ready.

HOW TO GET CERTIFICATE OF STATE OF ORIGIN OR LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF ORIGIN
Usually students needs this certificate for identification.
Note: certificate of state of origin and local government of origin is not the same as certificate of state of resident. The certificate of state of origin or local government can be obtained from any state liaison office near you. To check a list of States liaison office in Lagos visit the address below
Other documents which may be demanded depending on the school include:
*Medical fitness report, advisable to get it from any government certified hospital

Education10 Habits Of Highly Unsuccessful Student(a Must Read) by zico124(op): 12:16pm On Jul 23, 2016
Every students wants to graduate with good grades, applauded for being outstanding and best among others but not all wants to work hard enough to achieve that. This is due to certain bad habits which stands as stumbling blocks for academic success. Students who exhibit these bad habits typically squander every opportunity, then complain loudly about how their outcomes or results have turned out. According to Bill Murphy of INC rephrased, the 13 most common behaviors these kind of students share are:

Procrastinating:We’re all human. We all procrastinate sometimes. Hmm ok, I will complete the note by 9pm today. However, pathetically unsuccessful students take it to the extreme, living by the mantra, "don't stress yourself today on what you can do tomorrow (or later). There’s always an excuse, always a distraction–and somehow things never get done.

Blaming: Blaming others, that is, the sadly unsuccessful students; always can point the finger at someone or something else e.g our teacher or lecturer's inability to explain, lack of adequate instructional materials, absence of conducive environment for learning, lack of money or food etc . And after we've spent so much time and energy blaming , we still haven’t accomplished anything.

3)MINIMIZING: Other side of the coin: It’s not just that extremely unsuccessful students play the blame game only, but they also talk down successful students achievements. Whatever other students accomplish, these are the folks who are there to talk about how it wasn’t actually so

corruption is an ethical and moral issue.......discoursed already
PoliticsFew Solutions To Nigeria's Problem - Personal Opinion by zico124(op): 1:35pm On Jul 07, 2016
I think there is more to the problem of this country, to solve the problem of this country will take a lot of time and process which cannot be achieved by one man alone or in four years....politics apart...if we all sit down to analyze without prejudice or biasness of any form, we would agree with me that the problem of our great nation Nigeria is not formed in one day and can't be solved in four years...... I am not asking for time for anybody or passing blame on any but just expressing my personal opinion and the need for all to contribute to the development of the great country rather than expecting miracle from a man....... I sat to think about many thing that has gone wrong in our country and I will discuss just two (2) of these fundamental issues.
(1)Moral and ethical degradation: I believe we are learned and so don't need to go into any form of definition. The moral and ethical standard of the nation has drastically dropped. For instance in the good old days a father will stop the child from afar to question who gave the child what he/she is bringing home, people never want to hear of going to the police station, when someone is free/completes his jail term, the relative will relocate him so as for him not to be associated with any the family.....today what do we have? Someone will commit crime and he will hire 3 SAN, 10 lawyers and go with a convoy of about 30 exortic cars to court/jail and when he is released his convoy will go pick him straight to church for thanksgiving. When last did the TV broadcast a brilliant youth who is successful in his education/business? We are morally degraded to such an extent that we now see abnormal things as normal ...... Many of us are quick to blame the people in government but I tell you the difference between us is just opportunity some of us if placed in their shoes will do worse.......

EducationHow To Calculate Your Jamb/postume Aggregate by zico124(op): 11:23pm On May 28, 2016
Having taken the JAMB and POSTUME and written their exams, many students tends to be confused as to what next to do regarding their admission processing(while they wait for cutoff marks and admission list), the need for students to be updated as regards various schools cutoff mark and admission list cannot be overemphasized since it is goes a long way not to only understand how the system works but also to help students search for alternative option before its too late. It is however important to note that many schools have different cutoff mark for department and also adopt different method of calculating their aggregate. This short article will focus majorly on that of Olabisi Onabanjo University(OOU) and we hope to give update for other schools as they released their Postume score and or cutoff mark. In order to calculate OOU aggregate, applicants can take the following steps: Step1: Divide jamb score by 8 Step2: Divide Postume score by 2 Step3: Add score from step1 and step2 together, the result of the addition is the aggregate. Note: *This aggregate is based on carefully calculated assumptions based on over five years experience in registering students and carefully studying the system overtime *This aggregate does not give 100% assurance for admission like other school as experience has shown that some people with high aggregate still don’t gain admission while other with lower aggregate still find their way into the school. In all we wish all OOU applicants a sure admission.

Education3 Things To Do After Secondary School by zico124(op): 10:34pm On Apr 24, 2016
3THINGS TO DO AFTER SECONDARY SCHOOL

Information is power. As a colleague always say "the two kinds of students that will not make it are:
(i)Those that are myopic
(ii)those that get vital information and refuse to take steps"
Many secondary school leavers will begin to ask themselves what next? After leaving secondary school or as some will ask how do I keep myself busy, better and creative before jamb
Straight to the point, 3things to do after leaving secondary school while waiting for jamb or admission
(i)TAKE A PROFESSIONAL COURSE TRAINING: This sounds funny isn't it but well its true. There are many professional courses that students can start immediately after leaving secondary school, one good example of such is the Accounting Technician Scheme(ATS) although majorly for students who intend to explore the accounting world but record have it that the best in this field are usually students with science background who develop interest in the accounting profession. So if you are interested in the profession you can enrol yourself in any professional training centre around you and when your o'level result is out, you can use it to write the exam. Many opportunities awaits such students e.g direct entry to Federal universities with ATSIII, job opportunities etc
(ii)TAKE A VOCATIONAL COURSE: You can learn and specialized in a section of fashion, computer application, electrical or electronics catering, decoration, architecture, welding, carpentry, leader works etc we call them "hand work" in Nigeria. The good thing about this is that it can be your stepping stone in life and help you develop interest in a particular field or profession.
(iii)TAKE UP A MENIAL JOB: working as a sales girl or boy, an assistant care giver in a kindergarten school or even an office assistant will help you improve on your interpersonal relationship and skills. however, students taking up part-time jobs must be careful so that they don't end up being lured away from their vision with the stipends called salary

There are many other things that can help you build your future but the emphasis is that you must get something to do and always engage your mind in resourceful and productive thinking.
Remember that an idle mind is the devils tool

EducationRe: 5 Things To Do When You Lose Admission(a Must Read For Students) by zico124(op): 6:58am On Nov 23, 2015
[quote author=zico124 post=40298458]Its a pity how many applicants of tertiary institutions get turned down every year, more painful for those applying the second or third time, but most times things are not as they appear for those that believe that every disappointment is a blessing.
No one prays for failure but it look so funny when some of us get to wakeup to the reality that the admission we seek has slip-off our hands.
But life is not always about how many times we fall, but how we stand back after a fall.
Not wasting our precious time here are 5 things to do when you loose admission into a tertiary institution as a student;

1. Evaluate your steps: most failure is a result of one wrong step or the other. Some students loose admission because they choose the wrong subject combination during UTME registration, some others didn't prepare well for their postume because they did so well in jamb. You need to reevaluate your steps in order to prevent any of such mistakes in the next exam. You may even consider taking a pre-degree form having considered some factors(like you don't want to stay at home that year), considering your steps will help you prepare for your pre-degree entrance exams

2.Make another plan: Having properly evaluated your steps, you need to make another plan. for some of us it may be getting a home tutor for some subjects that we notice lapses, for others it maybe considering another choice university or course and so on.

3.Start early: Procrastination is the thief of time, collar him.” –Charles Dickens
You need to start preparing today. Many students fail because they intend to brush up in their area of weakness by attending a tutorial centre, but by procrastination they don't seem to start the tutorial until February when they expect the instructors to perform magic. Many don't study until countdown etc

4. Improve your skills: improving some skills like listening, reading, communication, research and so on. Ability to make research can help you get an idea of how various schools rate their courses and how to prepare for their assessments

5.Learn a vocation: most times I recommend doing this in line with your proposed course choice e.g learning as an apprentice in pharmaceutical shop while you prepare to study pharmacy. I know of someone very close to me who spent two years to get O"level result and another two years to gain admission in his choice course. After gaining admission what seem strange or tough to others is what he has mastered. His HOD even had to take him as an IT student and staffed him later on in his own company. The difference was that the vocation he learnt gave him an edge and today while some of his mates who graduated say 3years earlier than him are still struggling for work. He is quite stable.

You don't have to give up when you fall or fail but re-strategize and take another shot and I can bet THIS TIME YOU WILL SUCCEED
