Guys: So I booked a flight from a third party from cotonou to UK to have stop over at Turkey. We were denied boarding saying we need transit visa. Anyway, please how can I go about getting refund? Turkish airline said there is refund but later said no refund because we booked from mytrip.com . The flight is non refundable, but does that really mean all that money has gone? Please help if you have ideas for me

Did you use Turkish Airline?

Or what Airline did you use? Many Nigerians on Turkish Airlines with 1 stop at instanbul wouldn't need transit visa.

Then they scheduled us for interview (husband and wife) to establish if we are truly married.

You will need to write a consent letter authorising ukvi to verify that you willingly submit your account balance to support yourself and your dependents.

Note: because I failed to proof with more evidence like photos and newspaper change of name, it was difficult to ascertain if my marriage was genuine until the interview I and my wife gave them our Facebook names to check by themselves starting from our dating days to proposal and pre-wedding & wedding day.
My own advice is please be real and genuine and also provide all the information that can help ECO decide your application without further delays.

God saved me from these guys that same day at 6:50PM.

They drop white bus and double crossed me, I quickly stopped and told my wife these are kidnappers.


I used reverse a little before seeing commercial hiace bus and trailer coming with speed. I had to queue in between them and run away.


Here is my observation:

I used that road on a working day and there were too many police checkpoints, in fact you can’t drive 2 minutes without a checkpoint and I was angry that checkpoints were too much as I complained to some of the officers.

Now on a Sunday as I was heading to Enugu, I noticed I never saw any police checkpoints apart from army and maybe 2 police checkpoints after okigwe roundabout.

Avoid traveling on Sunday through that road guys.

This is my testimony guys. And to teach other road users what’s up on that road.

In most cases, you don’t need transit visa for all these airlines.

Pay attention to how many stop overs they have when booking. If it’s more than one, you will likely need transit visa. I booked Qatar airline and it had 2 stops which are Doha and Zurich. At Zurich I will need transit visa.

Use the airlines listed above and ensure your flight has one stopover.

Visa processing is not for the weak niether for the strong, it is by Grace of our creator and mercy from him. Me and my wife got visa at last after much prayers, tears and dedication. An email was sent saying non settlement visas and within 120 days something something…. I can’t remember the exact word.

has your Aunty paid a deposit of £5,500?? deposit deadline is August 25th 2023
If you Aunty has not done pre CAS interview she should contact the precas interview section through phone or email precas@wlv.ac.uk or call this number to book precas interview at microsoft teams asap ( +441902 322224)

The precas interview must be done before they will accept her deposit of £5,500. she should just disturb them with multiple emails and calls that is if her POF is already running and she has her £5,500 ready for the deposit in order to meet up with the September 25th start date
If she has not started running her POF by now, then she should just pray they might extend the deadline for CAS request.

So after the first interview was cancelled reason being that both the MA and partner were ment to be interviewed concurrently.

So a new date was fixed and we had the interview.

The interview centered around our relationship span and if we have been living together. Then family members from both sides and both parents.

So immediately after the interview we got the email I attached here.

Does this mean it will stay 120days before they will answer us?

Has anyone gotten this type of email and received positive response from UKVI? And what’s the time frame?

Anybody with similar experience should contribute please.

Note his mother died yrs ago and prior to that time I have taken sole responsibility of him living under my roof. I paid for all his bills, he just finished Secondary school and sat for last Waec. His waec results are excellent. I got affidavits from him mum's father stating he has been living with me and they know about my intention of taking him along with other of my kids. Cause his mom's death certificate was issued from general hospital here in lagos.
In short I made sure I obtained everything needed for a child under single parent. Note my current wife takes care of all of my kids and pays all the bills through my naira account. I gave her my gtbank app and password with ATM too.

Now I am currently married with 2 more boys aged 1yr 5months, 3yrs and the one I had out of wedlock is 15yrs.

Hello @Duchess90 and other good people in the house following my story.

I have got news/ Update.

So I replied with my details explaining that I am the MA not my wife.

On Monday the interview team called, but he was 35 minutes late though and apologised.

The interview started and he was asking my wife why did she choose uk for study destination.

My wife told him that she is my dependent partner and not the main applicant. He screamed and apologised again. He went off to verify and got back after 15 minutes.

He explained that it was actually an error that what they wanted to do, was to send to me and my wife same time so we both will be in the interview concurrently.

So he told us that they wanted to ascertain the genuineness of our marriage and nothing more. This came when I told him I have my visa already as the MA.

He acknowledged that yes MA first and dependents will be next.

So that he will reschedule the interview to include both of us.

We were on our way today and email dropped, it was from shielfield student interview.

Date is tomorrow by 4:30PM.

please any idea about the student intrrview questions likely to come out?

Any help would be appreciated.

I read about single parents travelling with there kids and all that is required. I provided all that was required.

I don't know what was filled wrong.

Can I also give the interviewer our Facebook and IG details during the interview to verify that we have lived long starting from my pre-wedding photo shoot to traditional marriage photos and maybe our photo album and even should we take the interview in my sitting room where they can see frames of our family pictures on the wall?

I just need some few advice from everyone with good knowledge about the process.

The interview should be for MA, I suggest she notifies them she is the dependent, you're supposed to be there incase you're the one they need to interview.

If they choose to interview you both, one after the other... Fine. You both be prepared

It is less than 7 hours and ticket has been issued... Can I still cancel it? And what's the process of getting the transit Visa?

Transit visa is usually a valid visa that is allowed in the country that you are visiting. For instance, if your are transferring in any European country, you will need either schengen , USA, Japan, Canadian and some other countries that have strong visas.

In my case, I called and emailed the airline and issue was resolved same day.

Again on the day you are to travel, they won't allow you board if your passport or any other visas on your passport can't transit you.

You will then request for refund that day, they will refund you within 28 days and take some cut for penalty. In some cases, its less than 200k.

Either that or this was sent in error, in the email confirming interview dates,she should clarify that she is the dependant not the student and that you already have your visa.
