The goal of a niche in content creation is to; create profitable and valuable content for an audience that will rank in search engines. In Biology; a niche is defined as an organism’s role in an ecosystem in response to its environmental factors. I like this definition because it contains the two most basic components of niche meaning. This is in the context of content creation and they are; 1. Area of Concentration (Organisms role in an ecosystem) the same as highly focused content. 2. Dependence (in response to its environmental factors) is the same as based on demand. 3. Why you need a Niche in Content Creation? 4. You need a niche in content creation to Survive – Just as in biology, it is advantageous for an organism to occupy a unique niche in an ecosystem because it reduces the amount of competition for resources the organism will encounter, also, in creating content, it is imperative that you choose a particular subject for a particular audience which doesn’t already have a lot of competition in other to grow and consistently churn out content. Gain Authority – It takes years for one to become a consultant in their field, Content Creation isn’t any different. For you to be recognized by the search engines and searchers to be an authority in a subject, you must have consistently created content in that subject for a period of time. Choose a niche, focus. Be Consistent and Motivated – Every laborer deserves their wage. Applying Pareto’s 80/20 rule it is important that 20% of your efforts yield’s 80% of expected result and not the other way round. It is very easy to quit when your efforts are not being rewarded in your own terms. or when you are not seeing your numbers climb up This could be traffic, conversions or sales. For you to keep creating more valuable content, you need to see that your content is bringing in the desired effects geometrically. Rank in Search Engines – Having a niche enables you to rank faster on search engines. Things to consider before choosing a Niche in Content Creation. The following are the things to consider before choosing a niche; 1. Your knowledge about the niche – how well do you know the subject matter you are going to be creating content on? 2. The problem you want to solve in the niche. 3. The kind of content you are going to create. 4. Existing key players in the niche – who are the people already creating content in that niche, and what is the amount of content they have created? Also, who are your prospective audience? 5. What your prospective audience is searching for? 6. The volume of keyword search in the niche – what is the amount of search terms your audience search for? 7. How profitable is your chosen niche? Depending on your business goals, you can measure by traffic, conversions or sales. How to choose niche content You would not want to dive into creating content that doesn’t have a good amount of audience; or does not even have sufficient content to be created around in the first place so, in other to be successful in choosing a niche you should; 1. Ask questions and take surveys – This has always worked. Ask people offline and online about what their challenges are and what they would like to see. 2. Check what your prospective audience is searching for; You can quantitatively and qualitatively find out search terms that your audience search for by doing keyword research. (Don’t know how to do Keyword Research? We have an amazing resource that will get you off the ground to be an expert in less than an hour here this includes being able to find out what your prospective competitors are doing as well.) 3. Experiment – Dip your leg in the river first to see how deep it is before you put in your whole body. you can create content and share on your social media platforms, forums and larger audience and see how many people engage with your content. Rinse and Repeat all the items above until you get satisfactory figures about the niche you want to go into. Do you have a niche? If you are new to creating content, what areas are you considering specializing in and what are your challenges? Source Zigarmy - Empowering All Africans with Digital & Vocational Skills

Good question

Easter this year is definitely very different, with the increasing confirmed cases and casualties, it is advisable that you stay indoors and celebrate with family. Below are 20 things you can do at home to ensure you have an awesome celebration. 1. Attend your church service – A lot of churches have adopted live streaming of Sunday and weekly activities. You can find out if your church is probably going to go live on Facebook, or any of the other social media platforms. If no, look out for other churches who are going to be streaming their services over the internet and join them. 2. Make a snack – For a lot of people, making a snack can be therapeutic or/and fun too. You can make a snack like chin-chin, cake, biscuits, or puff-puff to ensure that you have something to munch on. You really do not need to go out if you do not have the ingredient available and it will be difficult to get in your area, make do with what you have. As the saying goes, when the desirable is unavailable, the unavailable becomes the desirable. 3. Prepare the Easter Meal – Yes, the main course meal for Easter. You can put in some more time to ensuring you have a spectacular delicacy that is befitting for you and yours. So get into the kitchen and prepare a nice Easter meal! 4. Try out a new recipe! Are you bold enough to try out something you have never tried before? Now is the time. That recipe that you kept saying you will do when you have the time can now leave your bookmark or pages of your diary and get into an oven or the fire. If you do not have one in mind already, get on Google and start searching for recipes you can try out with the ingredients you have in your house. You will be amazed! 5. Clean your house – Oh yes, stop looking at the time. if your house is untidy or there are places in your house that you haven’t touched when cleaning now is the time. Get that broom and packer and towels to ensure every length and breadth of your apartment is sparkling. 6. Declutter your house! A lot of us have unnecessary baggage eating up space and making our apartment look very busy. This is the time to go through your clothes, shoes, kitchen, shelves and take out all the unnecessary things ( you can give to your neighbors), leaving only those you need! You will feel a huge relieve and a breath of fresh air being able to do this. You will also be shocked at the amount of space you have to LIVE! 7. Declutter your devices – Laptops, Mobile Phone. From time to time we have unnecessary media and files on our devices that clog their memory and make them rather slow and hang. Oh yes! You can spend part of your day to get rid of documents that aren’t needed. Trash them and empty your bins to improve your device performance and make them function better. 8. Read a book – If you haven’t had the time to read, you can schedule a time to read your paperback books or if you do not have, you could go online and get books to read. 9. Watch Movies – There are tons of movies that are very interesting, and you can have a list of movies selected for the day and watch them. 10. Go on social media and engage – Tik-tok is the new cool, if you are a social media lover, you can get on social media and follow up with your friends and your audience and find out what they are doing this Easter 11. Create Content – Don’t just consume, create something creative enough that will help people through this period. It may be video-based, graphical or text. It might even be a book! now is the time to create content that will help humanity. 12. Call family and friends – Remember this is a day to connect with your loved ones. Create a list of people that mean something to you and beyond just saying happy Easter to them, strike a conversation. Find out how they are coping during the period and gist with them. Catch up with what is going on in their lives. 13. Play games – If you have a console, good and fine. You can also play games on your mobile phones and what is most interesting is that there are games you can play with your friends wherever they are in the world. 14. Research – find out what is currently happening in your career and how people are adapting to their new realities, start taking notes. you could be releasing a bestseller at the end of this pandemic, but that will only happen if you are researching and journaling at the moment. 15. Exercise – A day to be fit and not just eat! Spend some time doing push-ups, seat-ups and all the other exercises you can do from home! 16. Virtual tours – You know all those fancy places you said you would go during this holiday? Find out if they have a virtual tour feature if they do, you can book a virtual tour to have an experience on how they look and feel. Remember the law of attraction! You can use the day to embed what you wish to do in your minds, and who knows… after the lockdown, this might just be your first point of call. 17. Spend time with family. When last did you seat together to eat, watch a movie or discuss deeply? This is a day to spend time with your family, engaging in mutual activities of interest and being present. 18. Meditate, Sleep and Relax – Yes! this isn’t overrated yet. You can learn how to stay still by practicing meditation to relax your mind and body. Catch some sleep and heal your mind and body! 19. Sing and play the instrument – If you have an instrument at home, by all means, entertain, you could learn a new song and play along. 20. Learn a skill – I am sure you have seen this a lot of times. The fact is we all have to come out better from this. What is that one skill you have been intending to learn? You can sign up on Zigarmy to get access to free classes and learn skills from experienced people in your chosen field.
