Family / Re: You Will Definitely Find Your Neighbour Among These. by zikray: 5:08pm On Jul 30, 2015
vikel2104:
Staying in a neighbourhood gives you the chance to meet different types of people and learning to deal with them.
You will definitely find your neighbour among the list below.

1. Parentless kids.
There is always sound of yelling kids from their house. Their parents are never at home. They are basically noise makers.

2. The Over-friendly Neighbour
They make your business, their business. You like it or not. These are typically the neighbours who will literally stay in your house and wouldn’t even mind helping you out with your daily chores. They don’t know where to draw the line and end up being over friendly. More often than not they cross the line. These neighbours want to know everything about you, your family, how much money you earn every month, where you make all your investments and your spending patterns. They want to know it all without even once thinking that these are personal and you are not comfortable sharing them.

3. The Really Mysterious Neighbour There’s is never any noise coming from his apartment. However, the only dialogue you ever had with this type of neighbour probably consists of “Hello!” and “Nice weather today, huh?” You’ve probably noticed that the really mysterious neighbour comes back home either late at night or early in the morning. And he doesn’t appear to be drunk which makes things even weirder. You have no idea where he goes, what he does and whether you should be worried that he might be a criminal or not. You better stick to just ‘hello’ when talking to this neighbour and never ask him anything because you know what happened to the curious cat, right? It became a victim of its really mysterious neighbour.

4. The fighting couple.
These neighbours fight with their spouse in the open and keep throwing offensive words at each other. They just disturb the peace of the neighbourhood.

5. The Copy Cats – The Me Too Neighbours
If you are noticing a pattern of your neighbours having the same things you possess from quite some time now, then you can rule out the option of it being a sheer co-incidence – it’s called copying. These are the type of neighbours who have no clue about what they want to buy and would just end up buying/doing the same set of things that you do, just to fit in. They would scan everything in your home if invited for a chat and there you go a replica of it would be in theirs too.

6.The Constant Borrowers
It’s a pleasant Saturday morning and you hear somebody knocking at your door. Surprise! The same neighbour who keeps asking you for something or the other is here again asking you for a cup of sugar. These are the neighbours who make complete utilization of the word “HELP” and would constantly keep borrowing things from you. If you have these type of neighbours consider adding a separate list in your monthly budget called “Neighbours list”!

7. Alcoholic neighbour.
Someone is knocking at your door and picking your lock at 1am in the morning? Oh, wait, it’s just your alcoholic neigbhour who is once again at the wrong door. Someone puked on your doorstep? Who was it this time – the alcoholic guy next door.

8.The Party Freak.
These are most likely young people who love to go out for parties and always invite their friends over for a party in their house. The sound of loud music and loud voices is the proof that they are at it again.

9. The Problem Creators
These neighbours are just too finicky about everything you do from moving a chair at your home to having a social event at your home-every single thing of your action bothers them and are waiting to gun you down! They are the ones who are unhappy about everything about their neighbourhood and would constantly keep bickering.

10. The Passive neighbor.
This one is just there. He doesn’t make noise nor look for trouble. He doesn’t seem to have any problem with anyone and just takes life as it comes. He just a jolly good fellow.

Can you see your neighbor in the list?

I have this one that knocks on my door when leaving for work in the morning and as well knocks when he comes back just to greet me...most times he distracts me an pisses me off when i'm playing PES game... angry angry angry angry

Romance / Re: The Daily Pains Of A Handsome Or Good Looking Guy. by zikray: 3:53pm On Jul 02, 2015
naijaboiy:
Being a handsome or good looking guy is a very wonderful gift of nature which every body see as a good thing. People who are born good looking are always grateful to be created that way by their maker. The society always tend to think these set of people always get things done easily because of their looks. They are also believed to always easily attract the female opposite sex of any type. They are given some kind of special preference most times.

But one thing people fail to notice is that these set of people are just human beings who encounter some setbacks as a result of their physical features.

Now let's analyse some of these setbacks or disadvantages together.

1) Objectification: People tend to objectify handsome or good looking guys. They tend to define you by only your superficial attributes and fail to read you as a person,,because they miss to see anything in you besides your looks. For example,, they hardly think you are good at anything else other than just being good looking. Your looks will seem to over shadow every other quality in you. This issue has tasked good looking guys to work harder and prove their worth to people that they have other things to offer than just a mere good looking physique.

2) Topic of discussion: To the Handsome guys in the house. Have you noticed that you seem to be a topic of discussion in little groups especially amongst idlers. Those who don't really have anything doing other than gossip. They just settle down to discuss you and say all sorts of things about you. Even the things that you can never do.

3)Envy/insecurity: Sometimes people tend to get envious at you for no reason. Some get jealous by mere looking at you. You'll have your friends whom are less good looking than you being insecure whenever you are around them. They wouldn't let you follow them whenever they want to meet their girlfriend. You try to be nice and they accuse you of trying to snatch their girlfriends.

4) Loneliness: It is a very surprising Fact that some,,if not most good looking guys are lonely. Except maybe the extroverts who defy the odds to make friends themselves. Most people conclude that guys who are handsome already have so many people clustered around them. A girl would see a good looking guy but she will choose to ignore him because she feels he already has a lot of girls at his beck and call,,therefore it would be a waste of time getting to know him. When this keeps happening,,you discover that most handsome guys have little or few friends while some are even single without a girlfriend to call their own.

5) High Expectations: Some times people give a lot of high expectations to good looking guys. Most times they expect you to be the head or leader. They feel since you are good looking you should be able to make decisions and be charismatic. They would want to follow your every step. While this can be very difficult for the guys who aren't outspoken/introverted,,it could work out well for the confident ones. So it's a bit of an advantage and disadvantage. But the problem comes when you do something out of what your followers expect of you. There will now be a crisis between pleasing yourself and pleasing the people that expect so much from you.

6)Pretty girls play hard to get: Now this is a very confusing fact. But it is of a truth that girls who are also good looking will play hard to get and put up a higher wall of defence when you are trying to approach them. Have you wondered why a beautiful girl easily succumbs to the toasting of that your "not-so-good-looking" friend but she keeps posting you whenever you approach her?. It is difficult to get their sense of interest. She feels that her showing of interest in you is a massive conceit of power.

7) Intimidation: The case is not any better with a less attractive girl. When a handsome guy is talking to a girl less attractive than he is she may feel way too intimidated. She may also feel he just wants to use her for sex and she wouldn't want to date someone more attractive than her because she can't use her sexuality power. A guy also has to become careful of this type as they may become really clingy to him after they have gone intimate for a while. And any sign of dis interest shown by him automatically makes him a heart breaker and from there he's tagged a "player".

8 ) Confidence is misunderstood for arrogance: The sub heading has already explained the point briefly. Good looking guys who are confident and not shy of showing off what they have are considered to be arrogant and proud. They are looked at as condescending. It has become so bad that they don't even know of the best way to reply to a compliment again. There is no way a handsome guy will reply such compliments without coming off as proud and ignoring the compliment completely is not even an option.

9) excessive self-confidence might turn into vanity: On the other hand,,we have some set of good looking guys who become over confident and dwell on their looks for everything. They allow the praises get to their head and concentrate on their looks alone. They ignore other important aspects of life and depend on their good looks to get them what they want. They forget that everything is vanity at the end.

10) share yours. wink

I received this message on my phone from my bank persuading me to go get my BVN done. Though I've done mine but I've been left wondering if other Nigerians have the time like me to queue and wait patiently to get this task done.
Unlike the SIM card registration threat, whereby, people still use their sim freely up till now though it's not registered or even registered with a random info before purchase, I can only hope this one won't turn out differently.
If this threat is really undertaken, I strongly believe that millions of Nigerians would be affected.
Have you done yours?

Do you really think your account can be deactivated if not registered??

Education / Re: Robbery in Imo State Uni. Who Do I Report To? (urgent) by zikray: 12:23pm On Jun 16, 2015
imsuboi:
Please help a brother!

This is a case of broad day light robbery

As is a well known fact, Imo State University doesn't have official school hostels; So everyone stays off campus.

I stay in a lodge around aladimma axis (Imsu's backgate)

Since I moved into this place, there has been a fee that's being paid annually. A fee of 1000 (per head). The fee is being collected by one Aladimma student's alliance

Now, let's do a little math.

See, the funny thing is that aladimma is made up of more than 50 hostels with occupants within the range of 300 to 400(some hostels hold up to 900 students).
So, roughly speaking, aladimma has close to or more than 10000 students.

All these students are expected to pay 1000 to an organization that lacks transparency of any sort.
An organization headed by just one person( chosen by a sham election annually).
An organization that has cultists as it's "task force".

Two things raised my eye brows:

1. the manner at which this "fee" is collected and
2. where the funds go to. (Read on, you'll soon find out)

Manner of collection
a) The special "task force" pastes a hand written notice on each hostel's gate notifying the occupants of their will to collect their fee( in the same manner armed robbers paste hand written notes informing a neighborhood of their impending, inevitable doom).

b) two to three days later; as early as 6:00am( sometimes, 5:00am) the hostels are flooded with touts. Slamming people's doors, threatening to break them down, basically, just tossing threats about; in a bid to get the occupant to open the door.

c) if by chance, you have enough balls of steel and don't open, your room is marked for further harassment.

d) if you do open. They request for a proof of payment. When this isn't available at the time of asking, they FORCE their way into your room and stroll away with whatever they feel like; telling you to come and "redeem" it when you're willing to pay.

It doesn't matter if you're male or female, the treatment is the same.

Where the funds go to

Peripherally, I had always wondered where these funds go to. Till I had a chat with a few of my friends over this issue.

They opened my eyes to the past and present presidents of this sham organization.

They've all bought cars! (I don't mean kabu kabu second hand vehicles). I mean TEAR RUBBER cars!

Apparently, these funds are channelled into one _asshole's pocket, who then pays his boys( I'm sure, quite handsomely).

This has got to stop! Please who do I report to? Imo State Uni has got no Student Union Government( Rochas scrapped it last year)

Help! This is broad day light robbery!

Before you report or do any thing about this issue;
Make sure the school authorities are aware of it and are ready to do something about it.
Secondly, let security agencies and authorities be aware and are ready to do something about it too, otherwise when the students stop to pay those guys this alleged 1000 naira, they will definitely turn back to be a huge threat and danger to students living in that area.

So being just enthusiastic in reporting issues like this, is not the answer.Rather it's the ability to make necessary arrangements to make sure it didn't back-fire on the students. i rest my case.
