[quote author=happytbaby post=43160823]Dear El Paso Mamas,

I noticed that Doctoresparati now has Sierra Hospital as their delivery hospital on the website . Has anyone used this hospital?

Do you guys know if one still has the option of using Del Sol Medical Centre?[/quote

My initial letter was Del Sol oh, they later changed me to Sierra cos the Del Sol doctor won't be available, but I had to query them back and they put me back on Del Sol.....

Hi everyone been reading and reading! Lots of info! This Dollar thing is giving me the creeps! I will be travelling to Delaware next month and don't have PTA, I live in Abuja and every bank I go to is saying no PTA. Pls for those who have used form A when you apply to pay with form A how long does it take to process?
Did your bank ask for a referral from a Nigerian Specialist hospital to your US doctor?
How did you go about it?
Does the bank give you the money or send it directly to the US doctor/hospital?

It depends on the bank, some banks will want to see a letter from a Naija doctor stating what is wrong with you and referring you, then the one from doctor abroad accepting you plus his invoice showing what it will cost you.
But I think diamond bank is simple, just the invoice from the hospital bearing your name and amount, you fill a form A and give them authority to debit your account for Naira equivalent.
Form A typically means accessing FGN money and you need to show genuine proof to gain access, the Bank will bid for you and pay on your behalf to the hospital. But always remember to ask for telex copy, that's your proof of payment and might be useful at POE

Hi zilly , how were u able to pay all , wanted to do same but the terms and conditions states you can only pay a maximum of 2,800 for ceasarian and 2,500 for VG . I am a bit confused . !!!!!pls help

Hi dear, That policy is usually on Melissas mail but I replied Rodolfo and asked for a full invoice.
Or pay the $2,500 once the confirm receipt ask for the invoice for Hospital, it's the same Wells Fargo account.

Stanbic credit card is swiping for 285 as at today. Same as the stanbic debit card. Pls explain what you mean by inter bank rate

That's the interbank rate, it's neither official nor black market. It's a fairer rate

I'm so grateful to all of you who have encouraged me in this. Nefertiriam(u r an angel) , zillyo, happytbaby etc. God bless you all.
I finally got usd4000 from stanbic ibtc today. Went there early morning and left some mins past 6:00pm but it was worth the stress.
I can't remember who mentioned Mr Femi here today. I'm also very grateful to that person, he really helped me.
Will still see what I can do to get more dollars tomorrow. I will still appreciate further advice. God bless you all

That's the spirit.....congrats, giving up is not an option. Your next action can be to get hubby or a relative with a visa to buy a cheap ticket an queue up for PTA, in two weeks time when they get they will wire the 4k to u in the US.
Also try and carry Stanbic credit card, they charge you at inter bank rate when you use it abroad.
Leave some Naira wit a trusted relative so that either way, when you get a hospital in the US, the person can use Form A and pay the hospital on your behalf while you are there, or buy a pta or eventually fund that credit card so u can access the money abroad.
All the best

Doctores Para Ti, they are consultants and will assign you to both doctors and hospital. If you want invoice for Dr alone or hospital alone or both they will send. They also send you clearance letters for POE. You can send me a PM

Once the money is in their account, I will find a way of sorting it with dem.

Please mamas and papas, is it advisable to pay money into hospital that bluntly refuse transfers? Please share ur takes pls. #supaconfused#

Some oyibos are very difficult oh, don't credit them without their consent. Rather, let your cousin go there and get their consent.

Dr La (WHMC) has started accepting wire transfer. WHMC will not though, so you'll only be able to use it for Dr's fees

I'm currently exploring that option myself. Will give you feedback if successful

For El Paso peeps....i was able to pay all, both Dr and Hospital through form A. Saves a lot of headache, you now know that what you have is for other expenses. Good thing is that if you don't eventually use them you will get a refund

^^^ to add to your post, open various accounts in various banks so that when the time comes, they will not say that you don't have account.

I am opening account in WEMA, UBA, Standard Chartered, Fidelity combined with the 3 banks I use now . . .

I am even opening for my hubby sef, he is looking at me as if I am crazy haha

Sure!! Also queue up for PTA in three banks minimum, the one that calls you first you go. You don't have to be tied in one bank
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by ZillyO: 6:13pm On Feb 17, 2016
Tips to minimise dollar cost this period
1) Buy your ticket early and queue for PTA, in two weeks you will get.
2) if your hubby or mum or family member has any visa, abeg, let the person buy a cheap ticket, maybe Arik for 175k and get PTA, you can't compare 365 and 197.5, on $4000 you save 4000*167.5= N670,000.00 even if the airline doesn't refund you, you have gained 500k, but trust me you will get reasonable refund
3) pay hospital and Doctor directly using form A, especially El Paso peeps, form A is still at 197.5, so by the time u settle your bill from here, it eases ur POE and also you won't spend ur PTA on hospital bills.
4) with $8,000(ur PTA and another persons pta) you are good to go, if it's too much sell sef and recoup.

I hope this helps.....we have to find a way around this dollar thing abeg

They got yesterday evening as late as 5pm and sold till 10am this morning, someone I directed this morning just got. Tell them you want to queue for the next window which is for Friday. Customer service person knows nothing about PTA. Better still ask ur account officer to help u

Those looking for PTA, cbn windows opened yesterday and banks have funds if you go early this morning. Those that have Fidelity account should try the head office branch this morning

All praises be to almighty Allah. Me and my princess are back in Nigeria. I paid 324 dollar to add baby's ticket on BA. I enjoyed my flight with them. My three bags all weighed like 28kg and they accepted all the bags like that and even checked in my hand luggage.

I used dr Amajoh of methodist hospital and she is a very good and humble doctor . I enjoyed her service with that of all the nurses that attended while I was in the hospital. Thank you methodist for all my freebies.
My bill :

Hospital fee: 2500
Doctor's fee 2300(test inclusive)
Paediatrician: 200( 2days )
One day visit to paediatrician after leaving hospital :90(70 doc's fee and 20 new born screening)
Pathology :89.96(after 50% discount)

Paid 120 dollar for baby monitoring when the doctor complained that my water level was low.

I stayed with soul care and I really enjoyed my stay with the concierge. She is a very wonderful woman.

My roomie of life, all is already well by God's grace. Thank you for making my stay an homely one. To all the new friends I made while I was there you all are very wonderful especially favoredgal.

Thank God for this wonderful opportunity.

To all the people of this beautiful thread thank you for al your posts.

I have bin a silent reader on this thread. Just an advice to those who got their visa b4 bin pregnant I don't think sending a letter of change of intent is necessary so we don't abuse it. BT rather get all ur burden of proof ready & approach them @ POE. Cos I did same & had no issues just make sure you have enough cash & ur Dr correspondence. Just my opinion.

Please explain the burden of proof....thanks

Pls were you asked to bring invoice from hospital before given PTA ?

To get PTA just present your ticket and visa. Then u fill a form.
To send through form A, present an invoice from the hospital, then a letter from a Nigeria hospital or doctor referring you to that hospital, then fill a form A, the hospital will be credited directory.

Another secret is this, if you have a friend schooling abroad, let him send you his admission letter and the page where the school says cost of living is maybe $2,000 monthly, you can fill a form A and send him $12,000 dollars being six months cost of living. His account will be credited at form A rare of 197, hook up with him abroad and collect your money.

Keep shut and stop disseminating false information.

No bank in Nigeria currently sells PTA/BTA.....its a CBN directive that all PTA/BTA sales should be halted....i repeat no bank sells pta...do not be deceived.

@wheredemdey, you are sooooo rude! Just because someone innocently passed an info.
Please learn how to be modest.
Now over to you, you hardly know what you are saying, I'm a banker and we sell at random, people are paying dollars into accounts and once we have plenty we sell. Almost once in a week depending on my treasurers directive we sell.
Selling to staff is standard, plus the staff immiediate family. I just got for me and hubby. So please go and do your home work.
Again for your info, if my important customer wants a BTA I get approval and give him.
