Good morning all. My wife plans to travel with our son around 6th to 8th April to deliver our second child in Texas, US. She would be 35 weeks at that time however, and we understand that some airlines would not allow a pregnant woman as advanced as 35 weeks travel with them. We want a direct flight however. Pls anyone has a suggestion (apart from Delta Airlines, cuz they are pretty pricey)?

In addition, a friend advised us she shouldn't fly to Texas directly cuz their immigration guys could be very difficult. Any suggestion on that too? We are doing this for the first time. Thanks a lot in advance

I flew Arik two weeks ago at 34 weeks plus. I had my fit to fly but they refused to look at it and sent me to Port Clinic,Nigerians don't like the truth. The clinic nurse after using her tape to measure me wrote 30wks for me. I shook my head, took it and gave Arik since that's what they want.

So the girl returned to the house at night, believing that we had all travelled and hoping to get her credentials and other things she left behind which I had moved into a room and locked up. of course she didn't have access to the house and was held back by the security till my husband was alerted.

he took her to the police station where she was interrogated for hours.(note that he had to pay for this oh).

her story: that on Wednesday when I sent her out to the market to buy some things she ran into some men who charmed her into believing that her destiny was being held down and the only way to release it was to bring all the money she had access to. according to her she withdrew 41k from her account and gave to them that day but they kept calling her and pressuring her to bring more money until they told her the precise location of the Dollars and she located it on Friday night when my husband took us out to dinner and took a bike to give it to them. she claims they took her phone then so when I asked for it on saturday morning she went to look for them.

the story makes no sense to me but the Police men claim it happens and that there's no way they can hold on to her that would result in us getting the money back. My husband was frustrated. they also said we would have to be paying money to keep her there (which amounts to accumulating further losses) He took her back home and restricted her movement and access.

what are we doing now. we're trying to investigate her story to determine how verifiable it is;

1. whether or not she truly withdrew the sum of N41k from her account on Wednesday.

2. getting a link to MTN to try to get her phone call history and see who she had been in communication with.

my heart is strong in this matter because I'm really hurt by what happened but my husband wants to be sure she's not a victim that we're punishing further by leaving in Police custody.

any advice on how to proceed now would be well appreciated I beg you guys.

Just Negodu this girl, as born again as you told us she is......mcheeww.
My sister, Trust me, once she's tortured the truth will come flooding. I'm sure there's a guy in the background she's working closely with. Please act fast before that guy flees cos If he doesn't see her in days he will smell trouble and flee....above all let's ask God to frustrate their moves till they are caught.
Congrats on your POE jare

Good evening family,

I am in need of help, i am due to travel April, 19th and have gotten my ticket.

just this evening the family am suppose to stay with at Connecticut called in that they will not be around as at my time of travel.

this is because they lost a close family member in Nigeria and will be travelling for the burial as at then, i have written the embassy immediately to declare a change in location for childbirth from Connecticut to Arlington Texas, i am expecting response by Monday.

My problem now is how to go about change of route, as my travel ticket is to JFK new york, i tried calling my agent but prices for ticket is now outrageous.

Can someone help with the best way to go about change of route.

I really do appreciate all support and advice rendered in this forum.

Left to me, still go through JFK, American Airlines can connect you From JFK to your next route. The earlier you book the cheaper. You can even get $100 ticket just go to their site

goodmorning everyone. so I'm travelling today. last week was crazy, ended up buying dollars at the black market rate. haven't been able to update on this page sef, I'm behind like 5 pages.

Anyway I want to sound a warning to everyone so what happened to me won't happen to anyone else. Let's be extra careful, not after trying hard in this economy to get dollars one would now tell my kind of story. it's not your portion IJN.

I had a help that was so useful to me, she did so much that I would always sing her praises to anyone who cares to listen. For this trip I registered her for a catering course and promised to keep paying her (N25k a month plus free accomodation, feeding and personal effects as well as medicals when the need arises). I treated that girl like a sister.

long story short, this week my toddler who I'm travelling with has been sick so I've been in and out of hospital and doing all sorts, wasn't able to even follow up with bank hence having to buy dollars at black market rate. Yesterday I took him for a final checkup and other running around in preparation for my trip and she was home helping me get my things ready.

this morning her phone was switched off, I asked her why, she said it packed up, I asked her to bring it let me check what's wrong, she left and I didn't see her again. she just walked out and took a bike cos if she had carried load the estate security would have stopped her.

she left with my Dollars in her pocket. 20 minutes later I noticed she had taken the money. how she found it is beyond me, she must have really searched.

please pray for me, bought 1k now to go with and have money in an account there but still I'm not myself.

Let's be extra careful everyone please. be mindful of whos around you.

You are joking!!!!! Im sooooo soo sorry, she can't go scot free in Jesus name you can't deny someone a good thing and it will come to you. I'm almost shedding tears, it's well sis. Let her carry your troubles and go.
U did well sharing, A lot of us here got PTA weeks before our trip cos of dollar scarcity . I trusted no one a jejely paid it to my Dom account. I withdrew it the morning of my trip. It's well

Not entirely true we have had tough jfk Poe stories on this thread.

Where do you want to start comparing JFK and Houston, Philli, etc. Even if you are taken to secondary inspection in JFK no one keeps you there for three to eight hours like we see in Houston. How many people have been sent back from JFK naaa. We are suggesting easy poes so this argument shouldn't arise

POE was IAH and as usual, God sent us a helper. May God bless that CBP officer abundantly. So far we are settling down.

Wow...KDK!!!!...awesome God....it shall end in praise jare. I had similar gist, PTA for me n hubby, smooth POE, extra ordinary host, got a cheaper hospital & got refunded by the other....thank you Jesus, may same Grace & favour rest on other families on their way! We serve a living God

I think these border agency guys are getting more hostile by the day.
Ok here goes my POE experience, flew Lufthansa fm Abuja to Philadelphia via frankfurt. No issues departing was sent briefly to medical to confirm my fitness to fly letter. All was well.
After 15hrs of flying and roughly 5hrs stop over time we eventually arrive Philadelphia. Am extremely exhausted feet swollen n all.
Getting to my turn at customs took almost an hour, officer asks so you planning to stay at so n so, I replied in the affirmative.
Officer: Why?
Me: Cos I have family there.
Officer: name of person n occupation
Me gives details
Officer: how long are you staying?
Me: will be leaving by May
Officer: let's take ur prints
Prints taken, he leads me to their secondary inspection room and says you have a seat my colleagues will be with you shortly.
We were told we are not allowed to use our phones.
Been through this b4 so I knew they were going to keep me there to stew a while.
Quickly bring out a book and begin to read. Shortly turns into an hour l8r b4 another officer calls out my name.
I was still in the process of getting my pregnant body of the seat to approach the counter when he bellows out to the hearing of the entire room, "yes! (My name!), we know y ur here, you are pregnant and you are here to have your baby. You came here last time and had your baby here!
Now, everyone in the room (other officers and fellow detainees) are staring at me.
At this point a female officer joins the male one and two of them are firing questions at me!
I go like, yes am here to have my baby and that was what I told the Officer at the embassy when I applied for my visa.
Lady officer: why do you keep coming here to have ur babies?
Me: I usually have complications towards the end of my pregnancy
Lady officer: what kind of complications
Male officer interjects: She says she told the officer at the embassy, hang on I will quickly verify
Taps on keyboard, turns red faced and begins to gently nod.
Lady officer: how did u pay for the bills or did u use Medicaid?
Me: I paid all my bills in full
Lady officer: how much did it amount to?
Me abt 8000dollars
Male officer: Do you have the receipts with you?
Me: yes, get up from my seat again and begins to hand over the receipts one by one. He gets tired of seeing receipts asks me to go sit down once again.
Lady officer is busy scrutinising the screen that has my info, and she asks have u been denied a UK visa b4?
Me: No, I catch on to what she may be referring to and quickly add, I was denied a US visa when I was living in the UK and applied from there.
Lady officer: y?
Me: Cause I was told I didn't have sufficient ties to the UK at the time.
Lady:how much did u p how do u intend to pay this time, and how much cash did u travel with
Me: I don't travel with my money cash, just travel with my cards. I have tge money in my account
Male officer: sit down, ok give me 5mins
Both officers mumble amongst themselves.
Then Lady: you are a Dr?
Me: yes
Lady: where do u work?
Me: details
Lady: where
In my mind am like do u know anywhere in 9ja, y u dey ask me?
Me: in Nigeria.
Male officer: asks me to come forward, asks how long am staying and stamps my passport for 6mths, reminds me to always travel with my receipts even though he is going to type in that he saw them on this occasion.
Was grilling, but in all we thank God.
Subsequent check at agriculture was a breeze the guy there come dey pity me say everyone don leave.
Was like you must have been in there a long time, seems your the last one out! Asked me what foodstuff i had, told him fish/crayfish then he Just scanned my boxes n let me go!

Congrats on your successful entry.....but like I keep saying, JFK is it!!! You scan your passport and finger prints yourself on the computer and take your print out way before you meet the officer who in less than one minute puts the physical stamp on your passport. It's stress free

Not sure. Ask Neks31

Don't mind Arik, I flew them last week, their policy says 30weeks, I told them OYO. Before I could show my doctors fit to fly they said they don't accept from outside that I have to do it at the airport. Na so I carry myself go Port Health centre, where a nurse use a measuring tape to measure my tummy and told me I'm 32 weeks, meanwhile I was 34. I used wisdom, told her I'm not 32wks, didn't want to say I'm 34 either, na so the woman write 30wks there and I paid the 1,500 fee. Gave Arik what they wanted to see and flew to JFK....

Good one, I think I researched Hopkins Memorial in sulphur spring when I was looking for a place. Their nursery is level II, which is a bit of a concern, in case of incasity. Dey may have to transfer the baby out if there's an emergency and that can rake up bills.

Anyway, na to pray against emergency sha.

Not sure we are talking of same hospital, co incidentally, my host is a pharmacist and immediately I mentioned the hospital she said it's very good and she has worked there before.
I think we have over flogged some hospitals sotee doctors ask us to pay for simple enquiries, that's non sense to me oh. You have the Internet, you know the city you hav people, just Google hospitals 30miles from eg Dallas. You will see the list, then pick and check their ratings, take a pictorial tour in their labour & ICU. Also I'm sure we've all been praying, Trust God to guide you, once your spirit settles for a hospital im sure God must have provided a helper there for u.....Good luck guys

We never receive any news from the form A applications, and the PTA application in Jaiz and stanbic too no news.
We are able to apply for stanbic PTA because it's online, for that fidelity na wahala cos so far away from lagos. I was able to apply at Jaiz last week cos I had an official trip to Abj and I used the oprot to open acct and all.
I have also opened acc with fidelity but hiw I wish I have a contact to call/ send my documents to for application.
May God help us o

Omodadi, locate the nearest fidelity irrespective of where you are, tell them you want to apply for PTA, usual response will be that it's not available. Just tell them you want to talk to the TSD Head, let the TSD Head send a mail to the TSD Head in Head office to queue you up. Then keep following up, E go reach u, matter of weeks
Cbn has been bouncing form A Medicals, I applied through diamond bank twice now with my friend and it all bounced. So pursue PTA

Hi dear,

Please just wondering what Baylor hospital this is that has $3,750 and $5,700 as options. Please can you tell me the location, cos to my knowledge the one at Frisco has revised their prices.

When I called the hospital I was given that $5,700 but when I called Dr Stimages office I was given $3,750 plus Epidural. Though they said there's another little fee I will need to pay the person that will administer the Epidural

If your host is a Tarrant County resident then count yourself lucky and head for JPS- John Peter Smith hospital and access their maternity package totalling $4,500

Or you can do Baylor Hospital, Dr Stimage is surprisingly $800 but hospital is either $3,750 or $5,700 depending on how u contact them. But Dr Stimage is at Carollton just 30mins away from Dallas

Just search for hospitals in Dallas, a lot of people here have gone to Dallas

Hi everyone,my POE story.
Came in yesterday to dallas fort Worth via frankfurt
In lagos,i was asked for fit to fly by the lufthanza staff but that's the only place I was asked .
Arriving in dallas, people with b1/b2 visa do automated custom check but if u have food or over 10k( which I did) u will be sent to an officer.
The officer stamped me in for 6 months after asking how long I wanted to say n I said I wanted to give birth.no questions about receipts from previous birth and all.i was quite scared cos last time I came to gv birth I didn't say.
It was all breezy and I think dallas is a very good POE.
Meanwhile is there anyone in dallas to give birth right now? Pls pm me

Currently in NY , my flight was very smooth. Im so grateful to God. POE was ATL . I was only asked if i have contacted a doctor and how i intend to pay. The question even came after i have been stamped 6 months. He further asked why i allow my daughter who has a green card stay out of the US for too long.
Had a little issue with secondary inspection though ... they seized my 2 tubers of yam, indomie noodles and knorr chicken cubes. They warned me that i would be fined $300 the third time(this is the second time) i bring such items into the US. I will be very careful now.

Please beware of Zenith bank cards, I was charged N398+ per dollar today via pos. I'm so angry right now.

Congrats girl!!! Happy for you, have you settled for any hospital yet?
