WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ZinoFego(op): 11:02am On Jan 05, 2014
Are you using a live site on the internet? If so, you need the ftp connection details of your domain name, this is usually the Username and Password of your domain name.

If you are using localhost on your computer, then you do not need filezilla to upload your Joomla files. You only need to manually copy the Joomla files into the root folder and run your installation.

Emmyk: Nice one OP.

2. Upload all your localhost website files to
your online website using FTP.
Using an FTP program such as Filezilla,
upload all your website files to the
public_html folder in your online website.

I just downloaded the Filezilla thing, please how do I use it to upload the localhost?

Joomla 3.x takes a while to install expecially on your localhost in your computer. But if you are using AMPPS on your comupter, you can run auto install of Joomla or other scripts from your localhost using this URL: http://localhost/ampps or http://localhost:8080/ampps as the case may be.

Opengates: @ZinoFego: Please for how long does it takes Joomla to install. I have tried several times and it keeps on installing for hours unending until I stopped and restart yet it is still the same story.

What do you suggest I do at this point?

Thank you.
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ZinoFego(op): 5:21pm On Jan 04, 2014
I think you should use more popular servers where you can get robust support. I would rather you use Apache.

You can have a stack of Apache, PHP, MySQL etc. You can download AMPPS from http://ampps.com. This will help you follow the class better, this that was the application we used. Though some other persons use WAMP, XAMPP etc.

Godswillboy: i have iis installed on my windows 8,how do i go about this pls?

Question:
1. Did your backup your database?

Post your configuration.php file here so lets see where the error coming in from?

php.NET:
Hello teacher, please help me out with this issue on a joomla site I built, the site was hacked and I tried to restore the backup but it seems the tables are missing in the backup files. Here is the error I get after working on the configuration.php file

Table
'ibuye_jo544u.bi6tnrt55_session'
doesn't exist SQL=INSERT INTO
`bi6tnrt55_session` (`session_id`,
`client_id`, `time`) VALUES
('1fb3f0f683e2ed884a2dc8335aa2880a',
0, '1387812764')

Please what is the solution to this problem.

Nice work u've done...
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ZinoFego(op): 1:39pm On Dec 20, 2013
What you really need from those stacks is just PHP, Apache Server, and MySQL. So whichever you use does not really matter since you can

1. Create a Database and its User
2. Have a PHP interpreter that interprets your Joomla PHP files
3. Run a Localhost.

I personally choose AMPPS because, it saves you the stress of having to start to manually create a database and its user. I do not as well have to download Joomla files before installation.

majinice07: Oga Zino, this class if mainly for those who are using Ampps server, can u please help and demostrate for those who are using Wamp and Xampp server?
WebmastersRe: Joomla FREE Training On Nairaland Live!!! by ZinoFego(op):

Save for educational purposes, you do not need to write codes to querry your Joomla database for users. Where "fsaq1" for instance is your table prefix, when you click the table "fsaq1_users', all the users in the database will be listed with their parameters.

The "User Manager" in the Administrator end of a Joomla site will also show you the site users.

sunday478: Pls, help,
Oga zino, I will be glad if offer any form of help on this

I have two problems

1. My ammps server did not want to open the phpmyadmin interface. What happen was that, I have a user I created, so after writing an SQL query to interact with a table variable, so that it will return true, the sql is not return the the variable, as a matter of fact, the connection keep dying, so as a learner that I am, i tried to use another user(root, localhost), but couldn't remember ste any password for it, so I tried to remove the password. Boom! Access. Pls help.

2. This is actually what led to the problem of my ampps. I tried to query one part of the datbase table, but it is not returning the require value. what code do I need to show that a user exist, let say I querry the dbase, about a particular username, when the user name is entered, if the user name is in that table them it will return exist.
