Education / Does It Seems Like ASUU Is Being Too Headstrong Toward Their Negotiation With FG by Zizaxbast(m): 10:38am On Jan 31, 2019
... FACTS REALM
…Today's discussion
…(Thursday, January 31st, 2019)

Topic : ASUU STRIKE: Does it seems like ASUU is being too headstrong toward their negotiation with FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) embarked on indefinite strike on November 5, 2018 over structural revitalisation in the universities, salary shortfall and earned allowances of university
lecturers.
We will recall when President Muhammadu Buhari declared on Sunday Nov 18 2018, that it was impossible to fund education from the budget and that the Federal Government had plans to raise funds from the capital market to fund universities .
He acknowledged that university education was under - funded and that the Academic Staff
Union of Universities was right to go on strike, but he urged institutions to leverage alumni and partnership with the private sector to provide the needed push to the infrastructure of universities .

Again, the meeting held on Monday, 21st of January, 2019 gave so much hope to many students who are affected by the strike after the labour minister Mr Chris Ngige said that Mr President instructed him to make sure all issues regarding the strike are resolved. But unfortunately, the meeting ended without the two parties (ASUU & FG) reaching an agreement or have refused to reach an agreement.
However, as the strike will be 3-months old in 5days time, at least six universities have pulled out of it and opened their doors to students.

Can we say ASUU is really fighting for the students; and not for their pockets ? (judging from their headstrong with FG).
Who can we place much blame of the strike on ? FG or ASUU ?

Education / Awesome Concept-superbikes Of The Future by Zizaxbast(m): 5:00am On Oct 27, 2018
Who says you need four wheels to feel the need for speed ?

The one clear delineation between the car and bikes has become somewhat muddied in recent times with the emergence of an array of narrow tracked vehicle designs sporting two and/or three wheels.
Check out these awesome concept superbikes pushing the boundaries of bike design and technology to the next level.

1.) KAWASAKI CONCEPT J SUPERBIKE
Kawasaki concept J was first showcased at the 2013 Tokyo Motor show. It is believe to be the most powerful electric vehicle on the planet with over 1MW.
The maker of Concept J (Kawasaki Heavyweight Industries Limited) came up with the idea to build an electric vehicle with its next generation high capacity nickel-metal hydride battery of 21Wh/kg cells.

The most intriguing part of the concept is the fact that it can transform to a streamlined, tucked position for those times when you want to increase the speed and hug the corners or move to a more upright cruising position when you just want to kick back and admire the scenery.
The bike is actually kind of hard to categorize as either a trike or motorcycle, because not only can the riding position change, but it actually has three wheels; two wheel up front and one in the back.

When put into sport mode, the two front wheels are stretched out and brought in close together, almost like one wheel for better aerodynamics. Then when switched to comfort mode, the wheels pull back toward the rider a little bit and spread apart with the handlebars rising up to a higher position so the rider can sit more perpendicular to the ground.

2.) RYNO MICROCYCLE SUPERBIKE

10years ago, a Portland-based auto-industry engineer, Chris Hoffmann, was driving with his 13-year old daughter, Lauren, to go fishing. On the journey, out of the silence, Lauren said, "Daddy, I have been thinking about this one-wheeled bike I saw in a video game. Could you actually build something like that? Being a dad and engineer, his response was "challenge accepted !".

Six years later, Hoffmann rolled out the final product, which he described as.......Read full article...https://factsrealm.com/2018/10/23/awesome-concept-superbikes-of-the-future/

Business / The Truth About The Vibranium by Zizaxbast(m): 8:19am On Jul 22, 2018
You might have heard of Vibranium before, maybe when watching movies like “The Black Panther” or “Dare devil”. This would have brought questions like: Is it a real metal or does it even exist at all ? Is it really strong enough to cut Diamonds? and many other questions to the mind. In order to provide the right answers to these questions, FactsRealm crew went on a thorough research about this wonderful metal and came up with these. Is Vibranium real? To put it to you once and for all, Vibranium is a fictional metal. It originated from the Marvel Comics. It was said to have come from the African nation of Wakanda. According to them, it was first deposited on Earth by a Meteorite approximately 10,000 years ago. It is noted for its connection to the famous Captain America’s shield and also the Black Panther’s suit. Can Vibranium cut Diamond ? NO, they can’t! This is due to the fact that Vibranium, as implied above, is fictional while diamonds are real. Up until now, diamonds are still the hardest substance ever known to man. In truth, Vibranium doesn’t actually exist in our world. It is said to possess the ability to absorb all vibrations within its vicinity and dampen the kinetic energy directed at it. The energy absorbed is then stored within the bonds between the molecules that make up the substance. As a result, kinetic energy is dissipated within the bond instead. This in reality, is a violation of physics. A Vibranium metal Jim Krueger; in the Earth X series proposed that.........

My question is that, what effort is he making (in collaboration with the FG) to improve Nigerian education system inorder to convince people like him and those politicians to enrol their children Into NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES ??

Celebrities / Classifying Humans By Actions: Where Do You Belong? by Zizaxbast(m): 2:56pm On Nov 08, 2017
Humans live. Humans die. Sometimes, long dead humans will always be remembered. Why? What can we do to be remembered by the world at large when we’re dead? How can classifying humans by actions aid us to know whether we’ll be remembered (after death) for our actions? Read this article The purpose of this article isn’t to put fear into the mind of people but rather, to encourage everyone (especially young people) into taking the right steps in life..

Classifying humans by the outcome of their actions There may be many words used to classify humans but in this article, I’ll use just four words: Pacesetter Trend makers Follower of pacesetters Follower of trend makers Lets examine each of the aforementioned words Pacesetters Jesus, Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin and many others have at least something in common: they did something and they’re remembered for it. Pacesetters may be ridiculed at the present because what they’re doing is new and somewhat weird but they’ll definitely be remembered in the future.

Trend makers Yomi casual, Davido, Linda Ikeji and many others are popular now cause of what they offer. Truth be told:

if they stop what they’re doing now, they’ll be forgotten in time. Trend makers are very popular presently cause of their actions but in the future, very few will be remembered cause by then they may be viewed as off-trend. Followers of pace setters These people, just like pace setters, would do what’ll be remembered in the future. Unlike pacesetters, they may not be remembered by name but surely their works would be remembered. Like Dalton’s atomic theory has some postulations. These postulations are known but they still bear the name of Dalton’s atomic theory even though Dalton was not the one who wrote them. Followers of trend makers These people are the ones who are known with trends.

Followers of trend makers are known to always have the latest song or wear the latest style in fashion or know the latest gist. In summary, they are trendy while the people they follow are trending. Most youths fall in this category Of the above four categories, just one is negative but yet it is the most populous. Why is this so? ‘Followers of trend makers’ is populous because it appears the most enjoying. The truth is that these people will either keep up with the trend or die with it. I advise every youth to do the right thing. Don't be just a Trends follower. B e a pacesetter or make trends. Do new things and don't wait for other people to do new things. Be innovative.

Education / UI VC Laments Low Performance Among 2016/17 Session Students by Zizaxbast(m): 8:23pm On Oct 20, 2017
A CLARION CALL FOR MORE HARD WORK DURING THE SECOND SEMESTER 2016/2017 SESSION— UI VICE-CHANCELLOR

The Senate of the University of Ibadan at its meeting held on Wednesday, 18 October, 2017, considered the results of the First Semester Examinations for the 2016/2017 Session.

One major feature of the results was the noticeably poor performance of the 100 level students.

From our records, 510 of the students out of the 2,961 posted a Cumulative Grade Point Average of less than 1.0. Kindly note that this is the minimum level of performance required to retain studentship here. In other words, 17.2% (or differently stated, one out of every six) of the 100 level students would have to significantly improve their academic performance in order not to be advised to withdraw from the University at the end of the session.

A breakdown of the results on Faculty basis is shown in the histogram below. As you can see, the situation is particularly alarming in the Science-based Faculties.

As leaders of this University at this point in time, we have the onerous responsibility of bringing the best out of our students. For me as a person, it hurts very deeply when any student is advised to withdraw from the university on account of very poor academic performance.

As you are aware, the pass mark in any of your courses is now 45% as against 40% hitherto. Secondly, Continuous Assessment now accounts for 40 marks out of the maximum 100 marks in each course. Moreover, the minimum number of units that you need to pass at the end of the 100 level is now 24 units, as against 20 units previously. All these taken together indicate that the standard is being improved. Students are expected to rise to the occasion by being more focused and always remember the primary reason why you are here.
