Texas.Cowgirl:Hmmmmm. This is my original ID. No other. ![]() CFCfan: Cambridge v Harvard: Which is better? Two iconic universities. IMO, it's almost a tie between the two. It'll just boil down to which system of education appeals to you more. Cambridge has been around for over 800years. Get a load of the architecture - just classic! Cambridge: - History, Nobel Prizes, rankings, tutorial system and undegraduate teaching, and that Harvard was modelled after them. Harvard: - More wealth, more US recognition, more flexibility, different educational style. And then, it comes down to which system you prefer, and possibly whether you're going to work in the US or in Europe (in the rest of the world it really doesn't matter). But I may add that Havard has a stronger alumni network (hey, I could be wrong here but that's my analysis). |
adaobi123: You went to kings ?Nah, Just took a summer course there. @Bolded. It Varies. Arrangements can to be made regarding credits though - esp if you're enrolling from another Uni. |
adaobi123: Summer classes ? That's good. I don't think they offer summer classes in the UK.They do. I've taken a couple at KCL. Not all can be taken for credit towards your degree though. |
ItsModella: Plus, if you take summer classes, you can get your undergrad done in 3 years. The load will be quite intense. Taking 18 semester hours every fall and spring, 6-9 hours for three summers would roll into 3years. But you'll miss out on other vital stuff like internships, plus risk damaging your GPA. ![]() |
CFCfan: That's not all. To be a lawyer, one has to do 4 yrs of undergrad study, and another 2/3 years of Law school. Thereafter, the bar exam has to be passed, before finally earning d right to be called an attorney. It's all about "Well Rounded" students, I suppose. You know the US is all in for liberal Education and that sort of thing. |
Texas.Cowgirl:How long does what take? |
ItsModella: That's why many Nigerians who want to do medicine go to Hungary and Ukraine because the process over there is less tedious. UK is equally complicated, you have to do A-level and that takes 2 years, I think.I took just a year to prepare for that. Basically it's five or six years in the UK: two years of pre-clinical training in an academic environment and three years clinical training at a teaching hospital. But getting into Medical School in the UK is extremely competitive. |
CFCfan: I tell ya. One would have reached 35 years old, before officially becoming a doctor in the US.Well, they end up with little "experience" though. Some do well, but some eventually catch up after several "mistakes". |
adaobi123: Long process ItsModella: Same here. Ain't nobody got time for that abeg.Really, If anyone wants to do it. It better be for the "passion" not the "money". ![]() It was something I loved but well, long years one has to prepare to sacrifice. [s]And we all know these days most students are all about the money - asap![/s] ![]() |
Texas.Cowgirl:IT is good but not the same as comp. sci (albeit just a branch of it, imo). ITehnologists don't study do any algorithms, computational complexity theory, distributed computation, parallel computation, VLSI, machine learning and all that stuff. Let me not even go into the maths aspect. ![]() |
Shollypopz: What is your real NL account?? hmmmmm...Hmmmm. Why are you so persistent on knowing. ![]() |
CFCfan: I heard that Med school takes a long time. After four years of uni, you basically get enrolled in med. school to spend another 4 years. And then 3 to 8 years of internship and residency, depending on the specialty selected. One of the things that err killed my passion for that field. ![]() Anyways, some med schools do offer a 6year combined thingy instead of 8. |
Shollypopz: Nah, he did Information Technology. I once scolded him for trying to equate the two....Reminds me of a guy I knew that was getting hampered by an uncle of his because of his ambition to pursue a degree in computer science. You need to hear him argue about how "Computer Science" was getting useless because "everybody would soon know how to operate the computer". ![]() Basically it was no use arguing with him. manny4life: That's right... You couldn't have said it any betterExactly the path I'm trying to break into @MBA. |
Shollypopz: LoL......errm business majors trump engineering majorsYeah, with the shiny MBA they're the ones the "scientists" tend to report to. ![]() |
manny4life: You mean ERAU? Embry Riddle Aeronautical? That explains your obsession with the 787. ![]() Got your license I suppose? |
Shollypopz: You are so correct! Only thing I heard was the ladies over there crave for men with enough "green". ![]() But well, with such a population, it's not surprising there's this "passion to be noticed" and "be known" - esp as they look almost the same. |
manny4life: Why are they worst? Because they know book pass you huh?Sometimes I wonder if their massive population gives them this natural instinct to always strive to be the top performer in whatever they do so they're noticed. |
Thankfully she wasn't wearing a skimpy dress or something short or we'd have a different title to this thread. |
Nice but... on the frontpage?? ![]() Why not create a sub forum dedicated to "posting pics" or the like? |
luvable sam: Pls guys can i stil browse wit mtn BIS on my PC?Or is there any other network dat works presently?Yes. The MTN Blackberry plans still work on all devices so long as you use the blackberry.net APN. The blackberry limit - from my experience, is around the 2.something GB range for the Blackberry Complete plan and 3.something tops on the regular BIS plan. |
Some folks are not even getting it. ![]() The thread is about Google's autocomplete feature and the search suggestions it provides not actual search results. ![]() |
Hmmmm. |
^^ Sure we create nightmares for the likes of chelsea. ![]() |
coogar: man utd - the club of champions. You can say that again and again. ![]() |
sauer: There's prolly a lot one can figure from that computer, besides the fact that he downloaded his anti-virus free, uses an IBM Thinkpad and hasn't attended to his Windows Firewall in a long whileHeck how did you figure that out? There's one system I won't by sticking my USB drive into. ![]() Nice to see vista again though. Brings a ton of Good/Bad memories to my mind. ![]() |
Hmmmm, Chelsea seem to be recovering. ![]() @ShyM-X Who's the shawtie pulling you away from the PC over there? |
sauer: ^^work on your Windows Firewall and get an original Anti-virus. The internet world is dangerous, broHe'll prolly learn it the hardway. By then I hope his phone is active so he can log on here and give us a report. ![]() |
The autocomplete feature is partly based on the user's "search history" though. But still a good laugh. |
Three Words - "Signs of fear". |
Gosh, I give up! ![]() |
ShyM-X:Just Chilling at my end. Mixing up that fav. scotch. And you? I was on Page 3 trying to get a grasp of thread when this caught my eye. bebe2: As for the tv license, dat's my oga's biggest pain. He pays it by direct debit.Hilarious. ![]() But wait, isn't this around £145.5 annually? What's all the screaming about? ![]() |
Things sure move quickly around here. Imagine the number of New Pages. |
