yamakuza: one oga once told me that at the BSc level, we usually have no idea what we want to do with our lives.

Our MSc/further study choices however, should reflect the direction we want our lives to go.
Really, I wonder why your "oga" would say that. So you just jump into the Uni and study sociology then realize that you'd like to do an MSc Engineering, is that it?

Most of these students are supposed to plan their careers from High School days - too bad Career Guide counselors are not available in many institutions.

The trend I tend to see in Nigeria is rushing into the University with whatever course takes them in - it's almost as if emphasis is placed on "getting in" rather than following your passions/interests.

Heck, I wonder if some of these folks even do any research on Employability Prospects before jumping on a course.

BusinessRe: Is It Legal To Trade Forex In UK? by ZN2:
I'd like to know this too.

Any concrete information?

Anyways, it's not like you "announce" that you're trading. You simply have the software on your PC and run it - esp. as most of us are already set up (i.e we've had an account before leaving nigeria). undecided

I'm just wondering if they'd frown upon an international student trading forex if they got to know.

Would withdrawing your earnings to your UK Account cause any red flags or is it safer to just withdraw to your Nigerian Bank Account?

Any insights on this appreciated.

PhonesRe: MTN BIS Is Now Really Unlimited. by ZN2: 1:55pm On Apr 09, 2013
Chikebrain: MTN is still unlimited it depends on how you see it. The new data cap is 3GB but if you get to exhaust it then subscribe for their 2HRS plan and viola you should be back online. its as easy as that.
Thanks
Would the N250 be deducted? (i.e the fee for the 2hours)?
PhonesRe: MTN BIS Is Now Really Unlimited. by ZN2: 1:53pm On Apr 09, 2013
hammedkola: While here is a little trick, If your BIS bundle is still active but not browsing {which MTN will claim that you have exhausted your data},don't mind them...

Just subscribe to 2hours plan by texting 2H to 131 (cost N250)
and continue browsing with the BIS bundle {Its Unlimited}. If you don't understand, contact me on ma signature.
Would this "2h to 131" work on PC too?

Well I'll try it later on.

Oh No, I know what I'm saying.

I am typing this message browsing from the Night Plan Subscription. wink

Maybe it's a glitch or so, but can anyone actually say the BIS thingy is now unlimited? Because I'm down to under 1gb on my current subscription.
PhonesRe: MTN BIS Is Now Really Unlimited. by ZN2: 1:09pm On Apr 09, 2013
Hmmm, I've read from page one and I don't get.

Last month, I did subscribe to the MTN BBC Weekly plan and it was capped.

Has there be some sort of change? No more data cap? undecided

(Anyways, I did notice the MTN Night Plan I subscribed to works even during the day - since from friday last week).
Car TalkRe: Car Thieves Gone Digital! by ZN2: 12:38pm On Apr 09, 2013
This is False. The possibility of this happening is very slim.

Here's a bit of info on how Keyless Entry systems work these days.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/remote-entry2.htm

This would only be possible in the old days - say around 1970 when automatic entry devices were (literally) made up of a couple of transistors and a radio transmitter.

Nairaland GeneralNew Dangerous Practice Fast Spreading - Nigerians PLEASE Beware! by ZN2(op):
Okay, so Yesterday I was in Lagos for the Weekend.

Right till this moment, I can't get over it, Please read and take precautions. undecided

I went to ShopRite to pick up a few items for the evening and as I was walking down the rows on my business, I noticed this older gentleman staring at me. I looked at him and kept walking to the front counter to pick up bottled water and some snacks. As I picked them and turned to find the same man right in front of me! huh

I tried to be friendly, so I smiled and said "hi" then I went on to grab a can coke. Can you believe the same man followed me? I was getting a little nervous and mad because he was following me without saying anything, But I tried to stay calm and friendly. I just said "hi" again and he finally responded and said, "I am sorry for staring but you look just like my youngest son ... we just buried him 2weeks ago. undecided

I felt stupid for getting mad as I expressed my sympathy to him. He said he was fine as he knows that his boy is with the lord. Then he asked me to do him a favour. I said "I would, if i can". He said he was a bit sad that his son never said Goodbye to him before passing on. He asked me to get in line behind him & as he left the store, I should say "goodbye dad". So that he could have some sense of closure. Though his request was weird, I however agreed to grant it. undecided

As he collected his bags from the cashier and walked away, I said "Bye dad". He turned and said thanks and "Bye son". When I got to the cashier and she calculated my stuff, she said the total was N19750!!!. I said what?!!... Do explain to me how a bottle of N100 water, N300 snack and N200 can coke equals N19750?. She responded, pointing to the door that "your dad said you are going to pay for his stuff too"....My dad?!, I shouted. That man is not my father!!!". shocked

I quickly rushed out just in time to see the man approaching the parking lot. I ran after him and was screaming..."Excuse me, Excuse me!!!". He started running for his car as he saw me coming. I caught up with him just before he was able to close the door and grabbed his legs and we struggled. I kept on pulling and pulling his legs!!! angry

Just like I'm pulling yours now!!!

1st of April, Happy New Month, Ya'll!
