Talk2Bella: Information is Key.
I love to read, I am a news junkie, I love to keep abreast on current World affairs and National affairs, I like to be informed, I love to speak and have people be entrailed when I speak, don't look at my face, focus on the words coming out of my mouth, I love to impact knowledge and also learn, I learnt a very long time ago that information is power, information is a door opener, information gives you contracts, information gives you results and information gets the job done.
I do not consider any sort of information to be a waste, right or wrong information is information.
I was offered employment very recently, during the interview a lady came out and was complaining bitterly about how the lady who interviewed her kept asking questions about the current state of the Economy and Real Estate in the country "How could she ask me that" she said, "what's my business with the Economy" I looked at her in Awe, I tried to tell her, you're supposed to know these things, they're basic knowledge open to interpretation and expansions.
Needless to say, when it was my turn after the pleasantries of self-introductions, I was asked what is the current political state of the country? What is the current state of the Economy? What is the current state of Real Estate in the Country? I do not want to tooth my horn but I didn’t study politics and International relations for nothing, I flawed those questions, met with management, flawed their questions, although I told them I would love to grow and be groomed at the company while achieving profitable results, when I got my offer for employment it was way better than what I applied for.
Truth is our generation is not a reading generation, I love movies too, I like to have fun but if they’re gonna bomb the Iran or North Korea tomorrow I want to be in the know, I want to tell others about it, Information is POWER! Information is KEY!
Ibeji Isabella.

http://www.talk2bella.com/2018/01/how-being-informed-got-me-job-with.html I try my best to be in the know too but I must admit certain topics just don't interest me at the moment. The real estate thing for example don't interest me now. If I had money to delve into capital intensive businesses like that then I could be interested in that too. |

Politics › Re: Who Is The Most Sellable Person In The South East If PDP Zones VP To Se? by Zonacom(m): 1:24pm On Dec 14, 2017 |
mentorandfriend: There is no denying the fact that the Buhari led APC administration who won the 2015 presidential elections on popular support has done fairly well; yet going by their campaign promises, it is far below expectations. Nigerians are sighing with disappointment more than 2 years on. This has opened the door to PDP to try to retake power come 2019. They have started this by trying to put their house in order, starting from their successful national convention to elect their leaders last weekend.
As expected, the PDP has zoned its presidential ticket to the north, and if feelers are anything to go by, then the south east might get the nod to produce the VP.
Which one person in the south east do you think enjoys national acceptance, either from the public or private sector who can help PDP retake power if given the VP slot.
My opinion: Add yours, or argue for and against the people below.
1) Osita Chidoka. Aside the fact that he seems clean, and scored points from the purists in the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial elections for his refusal to share money to voters, urging voters to vote their conscience, the former FRSC boss and Minister of Aviation is a very sellable candidate. His youthfulness, eloquence, vibrance, intelligence, and character will come to fore to help PDP as 2019 campaign gathers steam.
2) Dr Mrs Okonjo Iweala. The highly cerebral economist served two terms as finance minister of Nigeria (2003 - 2006, 2011 - 2015) and was previous managing director of the world bank (2007 - 2011). Perhaps her biggest achievement as Nigeria's finance minister was negotiating and securing the Paris club debt relief for Nigeria during her first stint as federal minister of finance.
She currently chairs the Board of Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and the African Risks Capacity at WB. She's also a senior advisor at Lazard and is respected across the breadth of the country.
3) Oby Ezekwesili. A chattered accountant, she has served as Nigeria's minister of solid minerals and later, minister of education where she swept the ministry with far reaching reforms. She served as World Bank's VP, Africa Division from May 2007 - May 2012. She's also a tornado on the social media and her BBOG campaign support has earned her a nationalist personality and love from Nigerians who identify and sympathise with the plight of the Chibok girls and the ongoing problems facing North Eastern Nigeria.
4) Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo. Probably Africa's best brain in macro economics, he was appointed CBN Governor from May 29th 2004 to May 29th 2009 where his best work was bank capitalisation and consolidation, yielding 25 strong Nigerian banks from over 300 banks. He's presently a consultant to the UN and a visiting lecturer to several foreign universities. He still enjoys popular support among Nigerians as a brainy chap that can solve Nigeria's Balance of Trade problems in an economy heavily dependant on exportation.
5) Mr Peter Obi. Former Governor of Anambra state. He created an indelible legacy through ANIDS (Anambra Integrated Development Strategy) where all sectors where enjoying attention simultaneously. Famed for his frugality, he saved up an alleged 70 billion naira in cash and assets for Anambra state as stated in his handover notes. He enjoys popular support from Ndi Anambra, Igbos and Nigerians.
6) Senator Ike Ekweremadu. Nigeria's deputy senate president. There's no disputing the fact that he is a popular figure amongst his colleagues, and enjoys some level of leadership and respect within the PDP structure. He has both the financial muscle and the goodwill across the country from his colleagues in the Red Chambers to mobilise support for PDP in 2019.

safarigirl: Who doesn't know that Nigerian media in itself is incompetent and useless?
They ought to have invited all the contestants for the debate. That is what an independent media does, a respectable one.....but even Channels can't tick that box Ignorance. How do you expect channels to invite more than 20 candidates to a governorship debate. That'll make the debate very boring and tiring. If you'd been following Channels prior to the debate you'd understand that they didn't just handpick the 5 candidates they invited. It was public opinion. If you really watched the debate, you'll agree that Channels did a great work. From the pre-debate analysis, the debate proper and the post debate analysis. I'm impressed. They need commendation. |

Cuche: Sad for Nwoye and Obaze. Zoning was factored in and Anambra South are getting impatient to see their turn. They all rallied round Obiano because they know the chance of smelling that seat with either Nwoye or Obaze is bleak. All the men with clout from the South (Nnewi, Aguata, Orumba) are behind Obiano. That's politics for you. When Peter Obi introduced zoning it was for selfish reason we had better candidates than the relatively unknown Obiano, but he sold him on zoning grounds. Today, most of us now believe in the zoning. It should be extended to National level. Sadly, zoning has come to stay in Nigerian politics and it seems like the only thing that can guarantee equity. I fell in love with Chidoka this night. I hope he keeps faith Alice till 2030 ( if Nigeria still exist by then). |
Politics › Re: Anambra 2017 Governorship Election Debate (Live Update) by Zonacom(m): 9:32pm On Nov 12, 2017 |
Cuche: Are you sure about that? He didn't show that true Igbo man in the last portfolio he held. Stella Odua was bolder and more daring when she held the Aviation Ministry. Don't get me wrong Osita Chidoka is a good candidate but this is not just his time. He should gear up for Senate while he patiently wait for the turn of Anambra Central to Govern. For now Anambra North should point the person they want, we support them. But Obiano raised a valid point during the debate. He's the only candidate that can ensure power goes to the south after four years. Others will definitely seek reelection. If zoning arrangement should be followed, then Obiano should win. Nwoye and Obaze who are from the north should wait another 20 years while Chidoka from central should wait for 12 years. You get me? |
