And yet, those feminists would be driving the narrative that men are somehow all that is wrong with this world. You would hardly see them fishing out deplorable members of their gender and holding them accountable.

Women have a tendency to be way more heartless than men, if not just as heartless as they claim men can be. Because once they view any human, male or female, as inferior to them, they'd treat them like trash. Just look at how most of them treat their housemaids, just like this judge lady. But again, feminists want to us to subconsciously believe that a woman has no shred of wickedness in her heart

LCDA to LGA? The faster, the better oh! Otherwise, e go red!

If this bill is passed without disputes and disagreements; see how other states will scramble to the avalanche of LGAs.
The only reason state governments would scramble to create additional councils is because of the prospect of increased federal allocations

But interestingly, more LGAs does not necessarily equal more allocations to the LG councils in that state, per se

This is a constitutional alteration with special flavour; it's not as rigorous as any other typical alteration of a provision of the constitution. See S9(2) of the constitution.

In essence, all that's needed is passage from both houses of the National Assembly, since the Lagos House of Assembly had already created these councils, in accordance with S8(3) of the constitution

You will "stop making it about gender and focus on the deeds", correct?

Ojukwu and Nnamdi Kanu left their people behind and ran away to other countries, while Fajuyi and Banjo died for their people, but the last two are cowards while the first two are heroes

At this rate, Trump is becoming unpredictable. Interesting days ahead in the untied states.
There's nothing unpredictable about anything he's doing. It's rather the opposite. He ran on practically this. He consistently made it clear while campaigning that he would issue a slew of executive orders to fulfil his political promises. His base already know what to expect from him.

PoliticsRe: ‘You Can’t Suspend Us’ – Edo LG Chairmen Dare Okpebholo, Assembly by Zouzer: 10:22am On Dec 19, 2024
saintopus:
It is so because the Constitution still mandate the House of Assembly to either suspend or remove an erring LGA Chairman.
This is why the autonomy for the LGA given by the Supreme Court is neither here nor there. So long as the governor still have power over the House of Assembly cases like this will continue and the governor will always win.
So the problem is from our constitution which is flawed with irregularities.
Those state Laws empowering the governor to dissolve LG councils have been declared unconstitutional. Even if cases of this nature continues, the Supreme Court and all lower courts foe that matter will continue to reverse the Governor's suspension
PoliticsRe: ‘You Can’t Suspend Us’ – Edo LG Chairmen Dare Okpebholo, Assembly by Zouzer: 10:18am On Dec 19, 2024
budaatum:
We shall see after the courts decide.
The constitution is clear on the issue of LG autonomy. The recent Supreme Court judgement expounded the provision of section 7 (1) that governors must ensure the existence of democratically elected LG councils. In fact, the effect of the judgement is that it basically nullifies any provision in any Local Government Law that empowers the governor to unilaterally suspend a Local Government Council.

Where does Okpepbolo even think he has the authority to do that from? The Supreme Court has clarified the constitutionality of this practise in the case of AGF V AG, Abia & 36 ors. That decision is binding on lower courts. There's no magic any court will perform.

When you look at the hell T-Pain is currently subjecting Nigeria to, you would agree with me that Buhari was just child's play.

The upsetting thing about Nigeria is that things get worse with successive governments. I remember at some point during GEJ's tenure, we complained so bitterly that Nigeria was at the precipice of destruction. Then Buhari came, we wailed and wailed to the point that we started clamouring the return of Jonathan. Now that T-Pain is steering the ship, we are like "even during Buhari's time, it was not as bad as this".

Everyone in FCT is happy to have WIKE as FCT minister
Until that (inevitable) moment when Tinubu falls out with Wike (or vice versa). At this point, I seem to think Wike is in his honeymoon period. With this brash, outspoken and (perhaps) off-putting style and attitude of his, it won't be long before a conflict ensues. Just check the history of his relationship with people in the past. He has always fallen out with them; Amaechi, Fubara, Odili, etc. He just isn't a very likeable person.

The incident, which quickly escalated, was captured on video and has since gone viral, sparking widespread reactions online.

Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu Receives President Bola Tinubu And His Wife, Oluremi in France

The executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in France on Wednesday.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu arrived Paris, France on a State visit on Wednesday.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday; "Today, we received His Excellency President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in Paris, ahead of the State Visit."
The governor of a state in Nigeria is "receiving " the president of Nigeria in a foreign country. The dysfunction is beyond comprehension

My story isn’t one of triumph but of lessons learned in the hardest way possible. I left Nigeria with big dreams but returned with nothing but heartbreak and regret. This is my journey.

The Call to Adventure

It started in Ikorodu, Lagos, where I worked as a phone repair technician, barely earning enough to feed my family. One day, a relative who lived abroad called me with an opportunity I thought was heaven-sent. He claimed Morocco was a land of opportunities where I could earn in dollars working in construction or as a welder. “You can make ₦500,000 monthly,” he said.

The cost of the journey was steep—nearly ₦2 million—but he promised to connect me with agents who would handle everything. I thought about my wife and two kids and decided it was worth it. The goal was to leave Ikorodu with hope and return with success.

I’m not saying that Bola Tinubu must be president in 2027, but it’s not going to be a northerner,
If for some reasons, Tinubu doesn't run for re-election, so Shettima, being a northerner and in fact, next in line to the presidency, won't be fielded as APC's presidential candidate? It's highly improbable that he'd be skipped over just because of this needless rotational arrangement.

The case was against the federal government represented by the AGF.
They sued the FG and those agencies as separate defendants. If it was only against the FG, represented by the AG as you've said, then the Supreme Court is the right venue. However, the joinder of those agencies robs the Supreme Court of jurisdiction to hear the matter
